Noqu Deadwood - December 5, 2004 08:49 PM (GMT)
Noqu walked into the doors of the warehouse. Annoyed at the stares that all the pathetic mortal women gave him. Most of them had no idea if what danger they were in. Most of them were 15 years olds from middle class areas who had come down here in an attempt to 'rebel' against the social norm. How ironic that their claim to individuality was based on the fact they classified themselves into a single clique, a clique that was often shouted at Noqu by mortal adolescents. 'Goth' Noqu's lip curled as he said it to himself. The few mortals who knew the truth of the existence of whom dwelt in this place steered well clear of it. Noqu grunted as he watched a girl, no more than 14, in a black corset, her face a consistent white colour ordered blood from the bar and lent against it as if she had achieved something. Noqu never drank blood from the bar, he considered drinking from the dead a method of feeding for scavengers. Noqu leant against the bar, a truly foul look on his face.

The pubescent girl turned to him and said in a dreary monotone. The goddess hecate greets you, will you join in my eternal suffering. Noqu snorted, were he not in such a foul mood he would have laughed in her face. Get over yourself, child. Noqu grabbed her glass and took a sip of the blood and spat it out. Flecks of the blood landed on the Goth-child's face. Pigs blood. Noqu said simply. Following this remark he hurled the glass to the floor, breaking it into shards. The look on the girl's face was priceless as she ran from the vicinity, eyeliner running down her cheeks due to the flow of her tears. Noqu leant back on the bar. Despite his bullying his foul mood was not curbed.

"All the local bar-flies must love you." Nadine said to the stranger sarcastically from the far end of the bar. "It always gets the young girls going when you shatter their drinks on the floor, hm?"

She grinned and raised a filthy hand to the side of her head, brushing her matted blonde hair away from her face. She approached the vampire and leaned back on the bar next to him, pulling a cigarrette out of her rugged jacket and rolling it around between her bony fingers. She remained quiet for a minute or two. Her hearing was very good, and still, she listened to the faint sound of the young girl running away until it had disminished.

"I could almost hear her swollen ego shatter along with that glass." she laughed quietly.

Noqu Deadwood - December 6, 2004 05:41 PM (GMT)
Swolen ego? No, most of the kids that waltz in here are no more than children with self esteem issues, who wear their make up like a mask. The only thing that shattered when the glass broke was the minute amount of confidence she had built up. Drinking pigs blood, she had it coming to her. Noqu spoke with a certain disgust, a tone he commonly used when speaking about mortals. Foul, self dillusional creatures wasting thier lives just for their next drink, or sexual partner. Noqu did not know why he despised mortals so. He had picked up such a loathing through spending time with other vampires, but he had no specific reasons. It was probably due to his resentment of his own mortal life. Why are mortals allowed in such a place as this. Do they not have thier own pathetic locations at which they can loiter and drink thier lives away? Noqu realised he had forgotten his manner. 'Names Noqu Deadwood, and yours?

Nadine blinked. Although she clearly heard Noqu's words as he spoke them, it took a few moments for them to process in her mind. She wasn't very well educated compared to most of the vampires she crossed paths with, and she assumed her appearance made that obvious. She hardly looked like a high-class individual, or even middle-class for that matter. If her physical aspects didn't give it away, it wouldn't take long to realize once conversing with her. But Nadine realized that although she wasn't very book smart or didn’t have quite as an extended vocabulary as most vampires did, she was still very intelligent, and was sure never to confuse booksmarts with intelligence. Therefore she showed no sign of shame, and a crooked smile smeared across her thin face.

"Nadine Kirouac." she told him, resting her elbows on the bar. "Its always nice to see one less mortal here," she said, her eyes scanning over the shards of broken glass on the floor. "But if there were none, I'm sure it would disappoint a few vampires, you know? Some come for the mortals." She raised her eyes to the rest of the young mortals in the room and laughed. "These mortals, they come in thinking they know what they want. Vampires. Death must be trendy these days. Hell, makes our jobs easier doesn't it?" she added with a grin. That was a joke. She would never even consider taking the lives of one of these. Some vampires would say there’s no such thing as being 'too easy' when it comes to feeding. Nadine would disagree.

Noqu Deadwood - December 7, 2004 11:55 AM (GMT)
Well, the more glamourous aspects of vampiric life. Although most of them claim that they 'know' vampires exist, it is often a ploy to get attention. They claim that they either ARE a vampire, or that they wish to be tunred. That is why I have never sired. I have never found a mortal worthy. And as for the vampires who come here for a free feed, they are uncreative cowards who lack the stomach to hunt for their prey. What is the reason for your coming here? Noqu knew his reason, he was one of the Tarepha, but he could not be sure of why she was here. He was sure she had her own reasons and if she didn't wish to share them with him, that was her choice.
Noqu looked around the warehouse again. The music was particularly apealing to him. He had aquired various tastesin music over his life. However this music he felt, reflected the darkness and agression that were the charchteristics of the Tarepha. Although most of the musicians were mortals living in a blissfull state of ignorance.

Nadine bit her lip as the word 'worthy' raced through her mind. She found it interesting that anyone could ever think a mortal could be 'worthy' of being turned. How could one by 'worthy' of being eternaly damned, she thought. In her mind, even the worst of mortals deserved a better fate, even if (like the teenagers there), they seemed to desire becoming a vampire for some strange and naive reason.

She turned her head to her empty glass on the other side of the bar. "I come for the spritzers," she smirked, turning back to face Noqu. "But I stay for the company." She pushed herself up from the bar and slid her cigarette between her lips. Quickly, she changed the subject. Her lonliness wasn't something she enjoyed talking about, and surely wasn't something anyone liked hearing about. "Hey, am I even allowed to smoke in here?" she asked, her unlit cigarette dangling from her mouth as she spoke.

(OOC: In canada, smoking isnt allowed in pretty much any bars at all. I dont know what the laws are like everywhere else, so sorry if that seemed like a dumb question for her to ask haha.)

Noqu Deadwood - December 8, 2004 05:15 PM (GMT)
(I don't think serving blood is legal in Canada either)

Noqu took out a box of Marlboro reds. Taking one and tapping it on the box, he took out his silver zippo lighter, one he had stolen froma victim, lit his own and tossed it to Nadine. Hey if they try to bother us, they'll face the consequences. He took a long drag of his cigarette. Although his organs were dead, his lungs could still function should Noqu wish it. Although any effect nicotine had took no effect. The strong, familiar taste of tobacoo became apparent to Noqu, and he savoured it. The music was begining to apear a little bleak. He turned to the bartender, producing a tape from his pocket. Put this on. There was momentary pause, in which Noqu heard the voices of the people in the room. Then, breaking the sound of their voices came the prelimanry notes of Gun 'n' Roses, Welcome to the Jungle. Noqu leaned his head back, exhaling a cloud of smoke. Much better. He said. Somehwatmore contented than he had been before.

Nadine smirked and gave a satisfying nod once she reconized the song, her cigarette still dangling, just barely hanging on from the moisture of her lips. She lit it and took a drag, and tossed Noqu's lighter back to him as she blew out a puff of smoke. She then lowered her hand to her side, staring down at the bright amber, and scratched the bridge of her nose with her other hand.

"And you, Noqu?" she finally said. She enjoyed hearing her own name used in conversation, therefore she assumed that others feel the same and tried to do it as often as possible without sounding rediculous. "What brings you here?" she asked, her eyes darting around the room, following each sound there was to be heard.

Noqu Deadwood - December 13, 2004 05:41 PM (GMT)
I come and go really. Whenever, or wherevaer I please. It's one of the advantages of an immortal life, No responsibilites. Noqu laughed to himself at the last remark. He hadn't exactly had much to worry about as a human. Taking another drag on his cigarette, Noqu tapped on the bar slightly, in time with the bar, ignoring a loud scream coming from one of the rooms upstairs. Hoping it was some poor mortal girl in extreme pain. Noqu looked aroud. The place seemed a bit grim. He supposed the gothic look was mainly to attract mortals. Noqu didn't care to much for the somewhat tacky look of the place. Most of the severed hands that hung from the celing were fake, and the chains looked as if they had never been used. It was a shame really. The place is a bit grim. Noqu repeated, out loud this time.

Ashened - December 14, 2004 03:16 AM (GMT)
Nadine followed Noqu's eyes around the room. "To say the least."

She leaned her head back and shook it a little, letting the stray hairs fall back from out of in front of her face. She lifted her head back up and took a drag of her cigarette. "Funny," she continued, letting the smoke seap out from between her lips. "We both have our complaints about the place, the environment..yet we're here aren't we? Almost like we're happy in our displeasure." She let out a small laugh, then cleared her throat. She was now surveying their surroudings lazily, her eyes half open. Relaxed. It felt nice, maybe it was the cigarette. The alcohol could've played a small part as well. Regardless, she felt content, and made a mental note This night, was a good night. Her smile faded a bit, realizing that it the night was still young, and that anything could happen from then until dawn. This moment. she corrected herself.

She looked over at Noqu and grinned warmly, cocking her head to the side. "Do you ever get bored of the same old sights, places, people?" she asked, her laughter causing her voice to crack. She paused. "Sometimes I think that I've seen everything." she continued with a sigh. "But I'm not as old as some vampires, I have to remember that and be thankful. This world is yet to stop proving me wrong, theres always something new, something..." her voice trailed off.

Noqu Deadwood - December 14, 2004 10:11 PM (GMT)
Noqu exhaled smoke as he thought. I move around a lot. As you can probably tell from my diluted accent, I am not orginally Canadian, and came to Canada from America, and to America from England. I have experienced plauqes, wars and famine. I have watched as dictators have risen and fallen and never aged a day in the process. Noqu took another drag of his cigarette, and thought a little deeper. But there is never nothing left to see. It is possible to see things from a different angle. We are priveladged in that we can experiece life over and over, changing our emotions each time. I prefer to obey the raw, primative instincts, that my did not leave me when my humanity did. I exist, only to perfect the art of killing. Each death I commit, I try to outdo the last, in groesqueness and brutality. It is like an artform to me.

Ashened - December 16, 2004 01:29 AM (GMT)
Nadine bit her lip and let Noqu's words bounce off the walls of her mind.

"An artform." she breathed. "Mhmm, killing on its own is one of the things I can count on to be ever-changing. Not one encounter or one vicitim alike. Its something I can find beauty in now as an immortal, something that once seemed so ugly." She leaned back on the bar and crossed one leg over the other. "But I have to admit... killing has always been something I've had to do, as I'm sure you know. Now to feed, but for myself even as a mortal, to survive." She paused for a moment, then laughed out loud. "It seems God has never been on my side." She mockingly looked up at the sky (which was the ceiling, really) with her eyes wide and shrugged.
