Title: Wandering The Pews...
Description: May I join?

Renee eased into the church rather boredly, looking around with a yawn, black high heels making sharp sounds against the floor as she moved to the middle of the church. Today's attire was one of her more sultry. Red dress, tied around her neck, thin leather choker, black shawl, red rose tucked neatly behind her left ear, and strings wrapped around each wrist for ornament. The dress came just above her knees, as most of Renee's dresses did. Her raven hair was held back into a loose bun, long strands falling across the side of her face like black spider webs. she turned her head lightly, full, unglossed lips formed into a sultry pout of sorts. Her slender arms were bent, hands resting on each side of her swaying hips as she looked around more, disgust twitching at the edges of her lips gentley, as if the image around her battled with her composure. Obviously she was dissapointed with the run-down place, and the fact such a great, magestic kind as vampires could live in something so undesirable. She knew this was some sort of group--a coven. She could feel vampire in the air, and something about the 'church' breathed living death. She couldn't help but aknowledge the slight cold shiver down her spine. Yes, the place was thick with her own kind. Something about the shadows was unnatural. Different.
A purring sound emitted from her lips, originating from somewhere inside her chest. She walked slowly between the pews, running quick, spidery fingers along the dusty wood. The cold air--it was, she realized, colder than the outside air--toyed with the temperature of her dead lfesh, though it couldn't do more than cause her discomfort, no matter the cold or heat. Renee yawned again, bored with waiting for something to happen. Her presance was noted, she could feel it. Somebody knew she was there, somebody much more patient than herslef. "Come out," she soothed casually, eyes trailing the pews with her fingertips, "Come and give company to a lonely beauty..." She kept her expert pout, fingers ever trailing across the wood, steps keeping rythm, like the heartbeat she used to have. "Come out..."
She glanced up for an instant, irritated with the wait. She couldn't stand being in such an ill-decorated place. Sge was so used to diamonds, rish tapestries... The death in the air made up for it. She could feel others had servants under their control, as she did, but still the feel of ending was thick. A peaceful kind of death, unlike herself and her kind. The air cradled a restful feeling...Renee yawned.

He was out. Her problem is she wasn't looking hard enough.
Colton blended with the shadows perfectly. In fact, that was the only trick he had under his belt. The other, more difficult, more powerful ones were still being practiced, still being mastered. Sure, mind following, mind listening... That was a snap. But mind speaking was difficult. He never really got to the right person, and random strangers would grow wide eyed in fear, and turn about, shouting 'Who's there?!', then running, as if in some scary movie.
Mesmerism and commands were still unexplained. He had had a few moments of absolute rage, said some things, did some things, and people had gotten hurt, just by him saying it, just by him looking at them, and casting their image aside. He didn't like not knowing that one.
Running really really fast was easy. It was running really really fast and not falling flat on your face and leaving a skidmark 27 feet long that was hard. But, of course, he wouldn't know that from experience. Noooo... Of cooourse not.
Renee's whispers would go unresponded to, as Colton continued to watch her. Nephim. Vampire. Looking around at his church with a foul glance. Well, he couldn't stand for that. "If you know of a better place, I'm all ears." Colton sat in the first of the choirs pews, down on the left side of the alter, wearing his classical one-eyebrow-arched expression, as well as a grubby old high school student's history day tee and some jeans. He really didn't look much older than a college student, and, in fact, he wasn't much older than a college student. On the collar of his shirt was a pair of sunglasses, probably the cheap kind you get at Rite Aid or Longs Drugs on the little spinning, unprescribed glasses stands. He needed them for the bright lights of city life. Perhaps that's why there was little light in here. He hated wearing sunglasses at night.

Maria stood on the roof of the church, near the bells, the chilling wind made her good, she couldn't get colder then she already was, she sat there in a crounch, a crossbow in her arm, armed with a silver arrow, which she wasn't going to use untill tomorrow, on a rich bank owner she was hired to kill.
Colton was already out, near the vampire, but she didn't seem like she noticed him, what are you going to do Colton?...
Maria slid down from the belltower and entered the church itself, she didn't say prayer in that church, nor gave it respect, she only considered this place as a place to hide, and to be with the other coven memebers, she putted down the crossbow on a stoned desk, and walked slowly, taking her time, toward the church's doors, as she went outside, the shadows made her invisible, she went near Colton, and whispered to his ear, "Do you know this immortal?"
Renee Saber - November 27, 2004 08:02 PM (GMT)
Renee smirked gentley. "Look around. The city is full of places. There's no need to hide in such an abandoned place when you can take what you need..." She stopped her treck through the pews, standing in a rather absentminded pose and tossing her head. "I suppose it has the nessesities, however vulgar the appearances." She gave a little sigh, gaze sweeping around. She could feel him, but couldn't see him. That was ok. If he feared to come into the open, she would cherish the fear. Renee smoothed out her dress without a care, then cautiously seated herself, careful of the trembling wood. She crossed her legs, hands in lap, looking forwards in her typical bored manner.
"There is a coven here, no doubt. Please, tell more about it..." She sighed, seeing his seat himself at the choir pews. She didn't aknowledge with looking at him, but only glanced his general movements from the corner of her purple eyes. She could feel the other figure near the first, but ignored him...her...it, just the same.

The vampire smiled lightly from behind his veil of darkness. "If you were... Mortal, would you come here?" Saying 'mortal' instead of 'normal' was becoming a tricky change, in which he had to remind himself that he was perfectly normal... In his own way. So, there never really was a normal on which to judge. "The shabbier it is, the less attention we get. I kinda like it that way." Kinda? Kinda a lot. Colt moved from the shadows to the dim interior, arms crossed, expression still as typical as ever. It wasn't that he feared stepping from dark to light. It was that he preferred not to be present when people showed up.
Colton felt Maria sneak up close behind him, and whisper softly in his ear. He made sure to take a few extra steps from the shadows and out into the moonlight that had found itself streaming through a missing chunk of a stained glass window. He looked back at Maria and shrugged. "Even if I don't know her, she knows us." He took his seat on a step circumscribing the alter, and glanced between the two women. Any other guy would love this situation. But, of course, they'd have to be straight.
"Nephim coven. This church here is home. If you don't like it, then leave." That was her cue to stand and walk out. Colton was overprotective of all the miscellaneous work he had put into the place. As one could see, there was a path to the door. He carved that out of the poor excuse of a lawn out in front. Also, they could all safely sit on pews without fear of sitting in a cushion of dust. Also his doing. And, the glass from the broken windows? The rocks that had been hurled through them? Also gone. Trashy as it might seem, it really had been worse off.
Whether she was going to move or not, he continued. "Uhh... Iunno. Tombs? Oh, no. Catacombs. Yes, those are downstairs." If there hadn't been numerous hints dropped already, he wasn't the vampire here with the most wisdom. That was little Adonis, but he had his hooker shift to run at these hours. "Door is to the left of the alter. No one goes down there but Nephim, Amman, and Enashe. Personally, I like the blood splatter to a minimum. It's hell to clean." That was a joke, as well as a rule. The Tarepha and Ishak were nasty fellows in Colt's book. He didn't want them here. "And... Dammit. I know there was another rule..." Kid just got his new boots, and, already they were proving too big to fill. "Oh, yea. If I get stuck with some rap of yours, then you've got to leave. I hate dealing with vampires." He said this vehemently, as if he, himself, wasn't really a vampire. He walked a thin line between vampire and mortal. Mortal-minded, but vampire in body. Colton was a pretty messed up case. Least he had leader qualities and no life, which he could expend upon those who came here.
((OOC: Heh. More fluff than post, but... Whatever. And, short's fine, so long as I have something to go off of.))

"I hope this vampire won't cause troubles.." Whispered Maria to Colt in a doubting voice, it wasn't the first time a vampire came to look for a place at their coven and it ended up in a bloodspill, the worrying of more vampires who are looking for troubles digged in her, she sighed and looked at the moon, "I must go now, I got to do a couple of things." She mummbled and turned her back to him, starting to walk, "Cyaz Colt..". Maria speeded away from the church, she headed over to her mailbox, an unused mailbox near the abandoned factory, where the usual money, the target's picture and the information are.

"If I were a mortal, I'd wretch. But, I know how some desire to hide themselves rather than risk whatever it is you see there is to lose, so I suppose it's understandable." She sighed, standing and again walking through the pews without aim. She hid a bemused smile at his answers, noting him to be among the lacking of intelligence. Of course, she couldn't mark many for intelligence, for her vanity wouldn't allow it. "Nephim..." She purred, the word slipping easily off her tongue. "Living in the dark and secret, keeping to catacombs...It could be worse."
She soothed through the last of the pews, standing so she faced the door he said lead down. She stood for a moment, seeming--heaven forbid--thoughtful, her arms neatly akimbo. Nephim...Catacombs. It actually couldn't be much worse, in her opinion. The rules were fair enough, though she would butt heads with many, no doubt. She could stick to a few guidlines. Maybe even get involved in this 'coven', gain allies. Allies for what? She let her mind drift, crossing her arms and swaying gentley. She didn't pay any heed to the location or form of the two, but she could feel it when the second figure left. Just...left.
She bit the inside of her cheek, weighing odds. "Is this a 'forever' kinda deal, or can somebody depart if the company is found to be...unfavorable? What is to be expected of me, what are sleeping and living arrangements to be, and may I be so honoured as to join your...coven?" She flashed a tiny smile, glancing upwards, and then back again, deciding to keep the smile locked up instead of letting others assume she had dropped her sultry air for a friendly one. She tossed her head, hip swaying to the side gentley, and scanned the room again. Let's hope the catacombs are better...At least slightly...

Colton could have sworn Jason had this whole leader thing easier.
"Exactly. The less mortals we have sticking their noses in here, the better." He nodded, as if deciding that was the right thing to say, even if her mood was still displeased with the lay of the land here. She didn't sound convincing when she told him it could be worse. "You could be living in an alleyway on the street, for example. That would be worse." Colton stood and brushed off his jeans, then clapped his hands together to rid himself of the dust the collected. The sound echoed through the empty church, leaving a hollow silence in the end. "I'll vacuum when I get a chance." That was all he offered for improvement, though.
"Forever? Uh... No. I don't think so..." There he was, putting logic to use, even though he didn't know the answer for sure. Jason had told him to leave the Nephim and join the Enashe at first. No, it seemed more of a want kind of thing. Whichever you related to best, he supposed. Colton smiled a half smile, and pointed to an empty doorway behind him. It was just off the alter, and dark as the darkest nights. "Catacombs are down that way. I don't care who is in what bed, so long as I don't have to hear it or see it." With that, he shuddered. He acted like a twelve year old when it came to sex. No thanks. "They're pretty big, for single rooms, and they come standard with a monkish dresser and an old bed. I suggest hauling a new mattress here, though. Moths made a terrible mess of things in the unused quarters. And, as for joining, I don't see why not. I really have no idea though... I'm Colton. I'm just standing in till the leader gets back."
Well, so he thought.

Altessa nodded, looking up at the ceiling for a long moment, letting her thoughts travel around this new information. She watched the dusk absently, then looked back up with a bored nodd. "Furniture won't be an issue." She stood, moving towards the door. She kept her gaze away from him, still. It was a matter of her charecter. She couldn't see herself watching somebody intently. Never.
"If you would so kindly show me an empty room..." She let the sentance trail, leaving the remaining words of her 'thankfullness' unsaid. She watched the door blankly, waiting for the answer with as much patience as she could, and feeling she would--if she were mortal and these things still mattered--sneeze. However, nothing could sicken her, so nothing needed to be filtered, thus *poof* no sneezing. It did wonders on her grace. Or appearance of it.
She brushed her fingertips across the door, thinking. She had already decided, but the thoughts came anyways. So she was to be a Nemphim...

Colton nodded. "Then there shall be no issues." He walked towards the door, somewhat smiling. Perhaps it was because he was glad she was joining them, or maybe he was always smiling, or something close to that. Perhaps tonight was a good night. Whichever the case, he walked over to the door she stood by and entered, without glancing back to see if she'd follow. He knew she would.
Down a dozen or stairs, they came to a long corridor One either side there were doors, hard to distinguish in the darkness for unaccustomed eyes, but for theirs, they were easily visible. One door, about midway down, was open, and from it, soft candle light struggled to brighten the area. It failed miserably.
"This is the catacombs... Really, any room works. That one there"--he pointed to the open one--"is mine. That one there"--he pointed a little closer, but not much--"is Adonis's, and that's all we have taken. Oh, except the last one. That's Jason's. He's the coven leader 'round here." Under normal circumstances, that is. He was away visiting family at the moment, so Colton was in charge.

She nodded faintly, glancing at him in what somehow resembled approval. "I thank you. I'm sureit won't be as bad as I thought...Needs a little decoration, but.." She grinned, letting the last words float unsaid as she sauntered into the room, looking around at the walls. She had furnishings that could easily be brought in. No problem. It was nice enough, a perfect place to feed, to reside...To be safe, really. She had never before been much for safety, but things were changing.
She flashed him the look again. "Again, I thank you...I suppose I require no more assistance, and I'm sure I'll see you around..." She nodded at him faintly again, and then turned, slipping around and noting the minor details, obviously plannig what do do with her area, and now ignorant to her previous company's existance. That's just the way she was.
