Appearance: Colton's most noticable feature is his hair, which is thick, honey-blonde, overgrown, and completely uncontrollable. Even after a haircut, it's always long enough to fall in front of his eyes, which are light brown in colour. Colton takes after his father, with sharper features and a stern face. He's tall, standing at around six-foot-one, yet thin and awkward, with large hands and feet that don't really fit with his narrow shoulders and hips. He's pale in complexion, attributed both to his turning and the fact that he burned and never tanned. Colton was never a head-turner, but he does possess some attractive features and can be considered handsome.

As far as dress goes, Colton's style varies. There's his all-work-no-play phase, in which he'll be found in a suit and tie. To dress down but still maintain a professional air, he'll wear button-up shirts and slacks or nice jeans. When going casual, it's usually a fitted tee shirt and older, faded and worn out jeans. He's got a secret love for hooded sweaters and will wear them whenever he feels vunerable or wants to be warm and comfortable. On his more confident days, he'll wear anything from a black, wool peacoat to a more dressed up blazer or suit jacket. One thing is always a constant: He doesn't experiment with footware. Colton always wears black, Converse hightops, and has since he was 15.

Personality: In a word, Colton is subdued. He’s quiet yet stubborn, putting a more serious twist on life. Ever since Colt began his job at Ace High, he's been forced to acquire people skills, and can confidently carry out a conversation about the weather, the local sports teams, and about work. Anything else, and you're asking too much of him. Colton has never been comfortable around strangers, and usually left his sister to make friends for him. He has a hard time opening up about anything, save his niece, Celeste, and feels uncomfortable hearing about other people's life stories. Even around close friends, he tends to seem distant and has a hard time speaking comfortabley.

Though Colton is quiet and timid when it comes to conversation, he is becoming more fearless around work and his coven. Colt takes pride in his accomplishments and he isn't afraid to show it. He can be boastful to his colleagues about gigs he's locked down and is always confident in his decisions for the Nephim coven. He's young, and challenging him on issues he's solid about will lead to him being overly headstrong and extremely stubborn. The only other subject that gets Colton to talk easily is his niece, Celeste. He fits into a fathering role flawlessly and could spend hours talking about Celeste's feats and stumbles. However, Celeste is much more chatty than Colton is, and if you happen to meet both of them at once, he'll happily leave her to the talking, and remain silent, watchful, and stern as ever before.

History: Colton grew up on the eastern side of Demaitre with his direct family: his mom, dad, and twin sister, Codi. He worked his way through school, having a few friends here or there, focused more solidly on his academics than his social life. He read books, out of which he created his own friends. It wasn't until middle school that Colton began to see that imaginary friends weren't cool anymore, and quite quickly, he became dependent on his sister for friends. At first, all they did was fight about this, but eventually the twins grew close and created a reliable team: Colton did the schoolwork, Codi made the friends. In high school, Codi's friends began to become less and less appealing to Colton. He watched his sister start getting into alcohol and drugs, and when he couldn't bear to hear about how "easy" Codi Holstein was anymore, he ratted her out to their parents. She was sent to rehab in grade 12, and came out clean, but not repaired. She'd spend the rest of her life with a penchant for casual sex and hard liquor.

They were both accepted to Demaitre University, deciding to stay close to one another and close to home. It was there that the framework for his life was built. Perhaps to some it was considered flawed. Colton's first romance came in the form of Jake Soldati, his floor mate and sister's first campus crush. How this came about, however, is quite another story. They remained together for two years, and it was only under the worst circumstances that the relationship ended. The police showed up at Codi and Colton's apartment to inform them that Jake had been murdered. The ensuing three months were the darkest months in all of Colton's life. The case was cold as soon as it opened up, and Jake was buried and forgotten like so many others that died in Demaitre. Colton closed off from the world, racked with guilt and self-loathing and a death wish. He attended his classes. He struggled with grades that had once been easy to maintain. He lost contact with his friends. The semester ended poorly, and Colton locked himself up in their apartment. Codi tried her hardest to get him to come out and move on, but when he didn't budge, she gave up and blamed Colton for everything.

It was later that month that Colton had an interesting turn of events. For once, he struck out for his own friends in an attempt to erase all thoughts of Jake and found himself in the middle of a trio of vampires. A pitying Hannah was the first to befriend him, and consequently, she became his rebound. Unfortunately for him, Hannah was spoken for by an ex-beau of hers. The vampire's name was Boethius Aquila, and immediately it became clear that he and Colton would not be getting along. In desperation, Hannah called up Lilla Colwyn, the Enashe coven leader and another of Bo's ladies, to help keep the peace. Colton was told to give up on Hannah and move on, for his own safety. Stupidly, Colt decided he wasn't ready to give up just yet. He kept his attachment with Hannah, stayed in close contact with Lilla, and, as an unfortunate side affect, got under the foot of Bo. And Bo wasn't happy. After a few skirmishes, the ice broke; Bo killed Colton without remorse, leaving Lilla with his corpse. What had been a proposition to him earlier became a reality. Lilla turned him to keep him around, if not alive.

Colton quickly dropped out of school with only a year left, taking advantage of Lilla's wealth and privilege as her fledgling. He explored the aspects of his newfound vampiric identity and joined up with the Nephim. Nicodemus, the leader, had disappeared and was assumed dead. His second in command, a vampire named Jason, had run the coven into the ground with debt and a frivolous lifestyle. When a riot of Nephim began to plot against him, Jason befriended Colton with the intent to use the fledgling as a doppelganger. He referred to Colton as the Nephim leader in an attempt to save himself, but fate, karma, or circumstance--whichever you choose to believe--intervened. Jason was burned alive, which left Colton standing as the leader of the Nephim Coven by title alone. Eventually, the elders of the coven agreed that Colton should be raised up to his duty. In the meantime, a small council was to stand in until he was old enough to assume responsibility.

A few months after his turning, the second Holstein twin managed to provoke Bo's anger, but with Codi, the end results were not as fortunate. She died in the hospital from serious internal bleeding. Life, once again, stopped for Colton as grief washed through him. Falling back to his old routine, Colton locked himself up in his apartment, giving up on everything. However, life didn't stop, and about a week after Codi's death, a man named Steven showed up at Colton's door with a screaming three-year-old named Celeste. Celeste had been Codi's daughter, and, in turn, was Colton's niece. When Stephen was arrested on drug charges, Celeste fell into Colton's care. He took a job from Lilla as the manager of the Entertainment Department at Ace High Casino and, after a long-term custody battle, won Celeste's parental rights. Colton stepped up to fulfill both the mother and father roles as best he could.

During this year, Hannah's mental stability declined. Her bi-polar disorder flared up and she was almost permanently separated from Colton. There were mixed feelings about whether or not they were together, and he figured they were over. Unknowingly, Colton ended up cheating on her, which acted as a catalyst on her already rapidly deteriorating mind. Eric, another of Lilla's fledglings, stepped in and took Colton's place as her boyfriend, trying his hardest to keep her sane. But, even though Colton hurt her, Hannah needed to confess to him a secret she'd hidden from the start. She showed up in his house to confess to him what he never wanted to hear: she had killed Jake two years back. Upon giving her confession, she flung herself from the window of his apartment and ended up half-dead on the street below. It wasn't long after until she completely lost it and was mercifully killed at Bo's hand.

Colton was numb and indifferent to her death. He busied himself with work and spent his free time caring for Celeste. Eventually Jimmy, his co-worker and best friend, took a keen interest in his social life. He introduced Colton to barhopping, and it was on one of these trips that Colton met Clementine Jones, a sexy, old-fashioned Flapper. After a messy one-night-stand, they tried their hands at dating. It was awkward and difficult, but somehow they seemed to work it out somewhere between the bars and the bed sheets.

As of now, Colton's life is as follows: he has fully taken over as the leader of the Nephim Coven, with help from the elders and mentoring from his sire. He has hired a nanny to help him raise Celeste, and their family unit has grown to include Daisy, Celeste's puppy. He has remained as the manager of the Entertainment Department and will continue to live a very split, hectic life to keep Celeste safe.

Abilities:
1. Colton sleeps like a mortal human, but is very vulnerable to direct sunlight. Artificial lights, like headlights, can hurt his eyes, but interior lights and streetlights don't cause him any discomfort, unless they are high-powered lights (like the lights found in hospitals).
2. He possesses the powers of mesmerism and command, but only knows of command to a certain extent. He's not yet old enough or powerful enough to be fully apt at this power.
3. Colton cannot drink dead blood and must feed every other night. He's timid about how to approach a feeding situation and frequently loses control of the situation, killing his victims on accident.
4. Colton's skin is always cold and pale, even after a feeding.
5. Colton can move at speeds faster than the human eye and, when he really wants to, speeds faster than the immortal eye.
6. He can alter his outward appearance the same as any mortal can but does not show in mirrors.
7. Colton's fangs cannot be retracted, and are nearly an inch long, from root to tip. They extend nearly a centimetre longer than his fore teeth, and are very visible up close. Lucky for Colton, his natural smile is a lopsided half-smile that barely reveals his teeth.
8. Colton doesn't have to breathe but he does as reflex from his many years as a human and few years as a vampire. If he does force himself with some sort of activity (Jogging, lifting heavy objects, etc.) he'll breathe more heavily, just as any human does, though he doesn't need the oxygen. He could just as easily hold his breath and be fine.

Other Info:
- Colton's parents are Cynthia and Martin Holstein. It was Cynthia's mother's tradition to name children with "C" names.
- Colton is claustrophobic. The two places where this is most obvious are in elevators and in cabs. He avoids both whenever possible.
- Colton's has a minor case of haemophilia that's spurred with the sight of bleeding. Someone with a nosebleed can make Colton queasy, and if they bleed a massive amount of blood, it's likely he'll faint. He's fine with blood, so long as he doesn't see the bleeding process.
