Title: Just A Little Stop
Description: I'm bored...

Altessa - October 24, 2004 06:05 PM (GMT)
8:00 at night, few people wandered the streets, and cars hummed as they carried civilians home from a long day of...well, whatever people did around here. The coffee shop was alight with a dull glow of candles in the windows. The lights were on too, but they weren't very bright. If it weren't a coffee shop, Altessa would've dwelled further on the matter. However, her mind was set more on the warmth that engulfed her as she opened the door, and the luring scent of coffee that called her to the counter. How long had it been?

Altessa was in her typical atire. Mini skirt, tank top, high heels. The weather was slightly chilled, and she knew soon she wouldn't be able to wear it anymore. She'd have to trade it in for something warmer.

Her hair fell over her shoulder gentley, sweeping around her face in a whispy manner. She placed a hand on her hip, eying the menue above her. She couldn't even remember which one she had made a routine of getting... A shiver ran down her spine, but Altessa was unsure of its origin. Was she that cold, or was it the fact she had forgotten? No, it didn't seem to be either of them. She shrugged it off, feeling slightly distant right now. She didn't feel a part of herself.

"I'd like a carmel--extra carmel-- capachino. Give it a little extra kick for me, ok?" She gave a faint smile. It, too, felt distant, though that could've been because it was just an act of pleasantry. Demanding something would scar appearances. If she was taught nothing else, she had at least been taught to keep up appearances for the public. It was everything.
The little brunette behind the counter nodded, turning to start up one of the little machines. Altessa leaned over the counter, propping herself on her elbows as she watched the female shuffle around. She still couldn't understand how those machines worked... The workers always seemed so sure of what they were doing. It was comforting, but just once it would be nice to see them mess up. To see that they weren't perfect little workers.

Altessa straitened her form, turning to inspect those around her. A grand total of three tables were taken up. Two people sat across from each other, talking in low whispers over steaming cups. They weren't too decorativley dressed, but something about them made it clear they were going somewhere. In a table to her right, a woman was stirring a spoon around her cup, holding a book at eye-level as she did so. Altessa turned to eye the third table, but something tapped at her shoulder. She turned quickly, facing a faintly smiling...Did her name tag say Lara? Yeah, Lara. 'Enjoy.' She sang, rather enthusiastically for somebody beginning a night shift. She must be knew, Altessa thought. "Thanks." She flashed a smile and took the capachino, enjoying the warmth at her fingertips.

Another trick well turned, Adonis slipped through the shadow of the night-covered city. The faint glow of a coffee shop, warm and banal caught his attention. Banality wasn't so bad, at least not to Adonis. After all, for anything to be out of the norm would be destructive to the extreme.

He ran nimble fingers through his blonde hair and sauntered into the little cove of a shop, swaying his hips slightly. After all, potential customers were all around. Dirty businessmen were every where, it seemed, but not in this place. The smell of coffee made Adonis smile, and suddenly become very thirsty.

Approaching the counter to buy something -very- chocolate, he noticed a rather unusual looking mortal girl. It wasn't her appearance that was odd, but the way she seemed to carry herself, how she was so intent on the girl making her coffee. Adonis cocked his head to one side, blinking. What was with her?

Altessa - October 30, 2004 07:32 PM (GMT)
Altessa turned, freezing and taking a step back before she collided with a newer figure. She mumbled a little sorry, loooking the figure over in what was an attempt to go unnoticed. The held the coffee to her cheast, as if it would slip away otherwise, and offered a little smile. Not a real smile, honestly, but an attempt at one. The edge of her teeth showed slightly, and the corners of her lips were tilted at a slight upwards angle. Her eyes were slightly narrowed, but not in the way one would think of as hostile. It was slightly cheered, as if she found the boyish figure adorable, much like a puppy.

She noted the angle of his head, and blushed slightly, touching her face as if she believed he eyed a slight flaw on her. She could only clear her mind enough to move past him, towards an empty table with hesitant steps. As she passed, a slight chill ran up her spine. She dismissed it as embarrasment imediatly, and seated herself, tilting her cup so liquid sloshed inside before raising it to her lips.

Somehow she managed to take a drink, though the coffee only made her cheeks feel warmer. What had he been so inquisitive about that he had to hold himself as he did? She took her hands from the cup, rubbing her arms as if to spread warmth to them before looking out the nearest window, in hopes of freeing her mind a little. She needed a few wandering thoughts to take away the chill that still lingered down her back...

(Short...sorry...)

Anton Vladimir - October 30, 2004 07:39 PM (GMT)
She seemed almost afraid of him. Well, he was some what used to it. He held an occupation that few understood the reasoning behind, and so he was feared. Because mortals fear what they do not understand.

He gazed at the girl, an angel of sorts. She had a face like a seraphim of legend, all angles and curves in the right places. He turned to the girl at the counter and placed his order, then payed, and waited, watching the girl who was blushing. Her red-blonde locks reflected the glowing light of the candles in the coffee house. She seemed cold. Once he got his coffee, he decided to approach her.

"Hi." He said cheerily, taking the empty seat across from her. Even if he wasn't innocent at all, he had made his fortune masquerading as so. This wouldn't be so hard. He sweetly sipped at the frozen chocolate concoction in his plastic cup, gazing up at her through thick lashes. His curiosity, it seemed, had claimed him.

Altessa - October 30, 2004 07:58 PM (GMT)
Altessa jumped slightly at the greeting, looking up to see the same boy, sittng before her. It irritated Altessa, but only because she was undecided as to whether he was welcome or not. She sighed, smiled, and tossed her hair. "Hi." It was not the most enthusiastic greating, but she wasn't ever enthusiastic anyways. Besides, he looked kinda cute. Not in an attractive way, but in a certain manner that made it fun to watch him. Altessa took another sip of her capachino, seeming a bit absent of mind, but at the same time quite attentive. She set it back down, and, out of lack of much better, crossed her arms.

"Excuse my being a little...well, cautious, but...Who are you?" She inquired, though it held maybe a few too many demanding features in the tone. She tried to smile, so maybe it would softed the sound of it, but it only semed to make her sound scared...no, confused. It was then she remembered the role she was playing. She was supposed to sound confused while she was here...So, to make the role stronger, she leaned forwards a little, smirking and tucking her legs under her chair. In this obviously more flirtatious pose, she awaited his answer, again giving a toss of her hair, though, this time, for show.

Anton Vladimir - October 30, 2004 08:07 PM (GMT)
Adonis grinned mischevously at her. "Who do you want me to be?" It ws cute, and youthful in sound, but held dark undertones. His job was to be whomever any one else wanted him to, at least for an hour or so. And then, to leave. After all, no one pays a prostitute for the sex - they pay them to go away after wards.

She leaned forward after her inquiry, and Adonis did so also, smiling with his most childish charm. He didn't like women, at least not in the way that most men did. But he would act flirtatios any how. "My name is Adonis." He said, a slight giggling tone to his voice, "But that really doesn't answer who I am." Once again, something perfectly innocent was also perfectly deep and dark.

"Who are you?" He asked then, blinking his large caocao eyes at her. If anything was going to lighten the mood, it was going to be the coffee. And that wasn't looking up. His pink lips were wet and slightly tinted from the chocolate drink, so he passed the tip of his tounge over them lightly, more seductive than he intended.

Altessa - October 30, 2004 08:20 PM (GMT)
Altessa crossed her arms an the table, setting her ribs against them in order to prop herself up at an angle. "Cute...But aren't you a little young to be asking things like that?" She teased, reaching out lightly to tug at a strand of his blonde mane as she did so. There was something too sisterly in the action, so she decided not to do it again. "Adonis? Also cute..." She grinned, again nestling into her position.

She thought about his words. He looked way to young to be spouting wisdom like that...Or, maybe it was just something she wouldn't have done at that age... No, something was old about this kid...Maybe he had been through something...A car crash? Betrayal? She bit the insides of her cheeks, determined, suddenly, to find out. Besides, his company wasn't as bad as she expected.

"I'm Altessa..." She purred, smiling at the thought of a finished chapter. Onto another subject. "If your name is not who you are, then why haven't you answered my question? I asked who you were..." She smirked, feeling childish at the celebration of this minor victory.

((OOC:ALSO SHORT!! WHAAAAAAAA! I'm just not into it right now...Curse it all!))

Anton Vladimir - October 30, 2004 08:31 PM (GMT)
Adonis smiled to keep from doing anything else that might give him away. Who was he, really? The slave of Cassius Novius? The damned thing called a vampire? The whore of Demaitre? He was all of these. But there was no need, at that point, to tell all of this to her.

"I'm..." He stopped for a moment, taking an exaggerated sip of his chocolate flavored slush. "I'm little boy blue." He smiled once more, only it was more of a double-edged grin, a curtain for the morbid meaning behind his words. It was his youth that had made him so fortunate, at least at this point. His beauty wasn't what made people want him. It was his innocense. The ability to have it shattered again and again...that was what made people want him.

"Altessa." He grinned, blinking sweetly. "Who are...you?" The meaning was set for his words, and he was prepared for her to take it however she liked.

((It's okay. I write short, also. ^^))

Altessa - October 30, 2004 08:46 PM (GMT)
Altessa nodded solemly, trying to figure out the same thing. What her dubbance was, were she was, that was all so easily answered...But who was she..."I don't know" she answered honestly. "I really don't know..." She chuckled at how dramatic she sounded, then made an attempt to meet the boy's gaze. "So, little boy blue...Who do you think I am?" She smiled, stretching her arms a little and leaning back. There really wasn't any need to play the slut here. He was a little kid, not somebody who would suspect her... Infact, she was beginning to doubt anybody really would suspect her. Murder seemed to be this town's hobby before she ever came...

She flinched unwillingly at how she thought of it so easily. It was true- thinking about those she killed had become easier, but thinking about 'before'... She bowed her head, and took a sip of her beverage, then looked up again. "Honestly...who do you think I am?" she pressed, as if giving him a chance to answer before she had said this would be inviting a lie. She didn't catch his morbid meanings, or anything, really. She was too caught up, now, in thoughts considered both new and old, depending on how they were viewed.

Her chill returned, and she drank deeply of the liquid infront of her, willing it away like she would a dream. She inwardly cursed it all- the city, the people, the confusion, and this innocent little boy, all to wise for his age...However, at the same time she cherished it all. Everything seemed like that lately--she both hated and loved it all...

Anton Vladimir - October 30, 2004 09:04 PM (GMT)
"I think you're the girl sitting across from me at a coffee shop." He lessened the dramatic effect of the seen, or at least attempted to. Some times, it wasn't easy to put some one at ease. Although it was usually a forte. She had said 'seriously'...

"I think...you're someone with...blood on your hands." He said thoughtfully, running his fingers through his hair. It was true. The way she watched, the way her eyes were like the eyes of the predators he saw prowling the streets at night. This was no angel...at least, not one still in a state of grace.

"So who do you think I am? Seriously?" He giggled again, innocently sitting back.

Altessa - October 30, 2004 09:15 PM (GMT)
Altessa jerked herself into a strait position, feeling her heart stop for a moment. Did he know...? She relaxed, or made it look like she had, and met his gaze expression blank and slightly dampened. "Do I?" She purred, pushing her drink aside. She didn't think she could handle any more of it right now..."Interesting."

She watched as he sat back, and was slightly jealous of his innocence. "A bold claim..." She said, tossing her hair and leaning back so her back arched, and cracked gentley in a few places before she straitened herself out again with a sigh. "You..." She grinned, resting her chin in her palm. "I think you are alone." She said, solemnly. That had to be it. He was clever, and he still had innocence. He was friendly, but something kept her from trusting him completely. They were alike in this one way, and so different inothers.

"Am I right?" She inquired, without even bothering to attempt a smile. She didn't feel it was the time for false expressions, played to amuse her youthful companion. She met his gaze, but quickly looked away again, avoiding the feeling of depth in the brown of his eyes. He was so little--quite adorable in his youthful manner...It felt a little...odd.

((Beautiful poem in your signature...))

Anton Vladimir - October 30, 2004 09:22 PM (GMT)
"I'm alone in more than one way." He said, smile unfaltering. He nodded, and noticed her change in posture. How could she believe that he was so innocent? So simple? Within, silently, he was a dead creature befitting to be called 'vampire'. The only time he really felt awake was when he was working, seducing. And that wasn't now.

"You're a dreamer, like me."

((Very short, must go. I'll be back around 6:30. Be HERE.!))

Altessa - October 30, 2004 09:29 PM (GMT)
Alone in more than one way...? Altessa bit her lip, confused. She only knew one lonliness...And the fact this little boy was confusing her made her feel a bit empt inside, helpless, really. She nodded, as if she understood, and then smiled. "A dreamer..." She repeated, absently, nodding to herself. It seemed to fit. She chuckled at the way the world came from him. It sounded so much more enticing than the way she said it. It sounded as if the word had hope in it...

"What would you consider a dreamer, exactly?" She looked at him again, wonderingly, in some ways, and inferiorly in others. This little boy was really making her feel worthless... She frowned, resting her head on the table. How irritating, to hold herself so high in her ind, only to be brought down by such a child... She couldn't believe it!

Altessa looked out the window, head still on the table, hoping her strands of hair didn't land around her cup, were they would be dampened. She could feel some spawl across her cheek, and tried to concentrate on this one feeling. Maybe, when she came back to her senses, it would all have been imagined...Then again, it would be a sure sign she was going crazy, and she'd much rather the intelligent little boy blue...
