Title: Together Cursed
Description: Different and yet so alike...

Aequeitas - July 9, 2004 05:08 PM (GMT)
Callings, the sounds in his mind as he read through the mornings paper with slight interest. What were these feelings he kept sweeping through in his thoughts. These emotions he had never felt before as he continued through the life he set before himself. He stood up then strode off in the eastern direction of the library, his eyes darting over different manuscripts and volumes almost as if he was looking for a certain book. Why he looked the darklust heir did not know, all he could figure out was that something in his figurative mind called out to him as if it was his destiny to find it and he followed that calling distinctly. His curiousity flaming, he began to walk swiftly as if he were growing impatient with this game he played in his brain. The as sudden as if a clap of lightning hit him he stopped. THe leather boots he wore scuffing the floor with a silent screech. Peering into the shelf of books he smiled pulling out a copy with only a single symbol on the top. The symbol looked almost exactly like an egyptian ankh but the tips were a little more pointed and istantly he knew exactly why he was lead here. It was an exact copy of his family crest. the ankh his father gave him before he destroyed him was almost the mirror image. He pulled his necklace out and studied it for a moment before taking the volume he had found his discovery on and waltzing back over to his seat. "Maybe I might find something in here worth reading." he thought to himself as he opened the leather bound cover of his book.

Veritas - July 9, 2004 05:46 PM (GMT)
Without thinking Veritas walked right into the immense library his coat trailing behind him as continued his advance toward his long known rival. Sitting not twenty feet away was Aequeitas Darklust. His half brother and contender for the Darklust Legacy. Though Veritas knew that Aequeitas didn't want the vast riches his biological parents had gathered for him he coveted his position just the same, as if he had something to do with his misfortune. He stopped silently in front of his old time rival and chuckled to himself. Sitting beside him he watched intentively as Aeqeuitas studied a book from the vast stores of knowledge. The book had on its cover an egyptian ankh with points all over it flipped upside down and a pentagram stamped into the leather works on the opposite side. The book looked strange, it made Veritas nervous almost like it called to him making him belive that he had some other destiny that he had to fulfill before time ran out. Automatically he hated that volume, he hated the notion that he wasen't in control of his own fate. That someone, somewhere was deciding what he had to do with him. He fought it with every ounce of wilpower...

He smiled, looking up from his studies for the first time in 20 minutes. The book was interesting but the most it said was something about preordained Gods and the battle of the chosen one fallen from heaven. Rubbish, aequeitas thought silently. He extended his hand in greeting to his ancient rival. Veritas had been sitting beside him watching him study his manuscript."I hope you will excuse me for my rudeness but I was deep in thought." He winked at Veritas, all malice gone from his voice as he continued his explaination of why he had picked up the book in the first place. Aequeitas and Veritas had long ago set aside their differences as true rivals and began to act as friends that have had alot of disagreements in the past. He liked it, their relationship had blossomed in the past four months they had been meeting like this and Aequeitas finally thought they were getting somewhere. "So my friend, what do you think?" "By the way I'm very glad you could make it." Aequeitas silently waited for an answer while his attention strayed back to the book he was previously reading. As if it was crying out in anguish because he shut the cover he felt a pained feeling flowing from the leaves of the literature. The book once again began calling out to him almost begging him to read it once more. He slid it quietly underneath his chair still awaiting a reply from Veritas.
