A sharp gust of wind send black light ringlets whipping to the side of the olive skinned face, the screech of the subway giving a welcome to the small few who waited for it.
"About time.. " Came the smooth, Italian drawl of the female whose black, curly hair had now settled back, mumbling faintly as she pulled the locks back into a loose bun.
As she stepped backwards, waiting for mortals to board, deciding to just stay back a little, a slight custom for her, most mortals found her a bit.. odd, she twirled her ticket between cleaned fingers.
The midnight express was different from the other riding subways. First off, it was a dark navy color, different from the usual light blue subways. Secondly, it had a light. Allright, all of the subways had a light, but unlike the others, this one was huge. Almost the size of one of those clocks that hung on a mall or town square building, it was always on, despite the stops for boarding.
Mer had decided to tone down her attire for going out on a subway ride. Instead of her usual 'antique' medieval dress, she wore a black slip-dress which reached tastefully to a few inches above her knees, plain lace up sandals on her legs. She wld have gone barefoot, but the drunks had been out for the holiday weekend and smashed their bottles along the once-beautiful ground. Now cement.
"Come on you daywalkers.. "
