Appearance
He is blind.

Tall, thin man of the late twenties. His arms and legs are long and his fingers the skinny, skilled digits of a dressmaker. His skin is pale, as he was of Irish decent before his turning, and his eyes a cloudy green. Red-brown hair is kept very short, almost a military style - easier for him to maintain.

He wears simple shirts and pants, usually a button-up with country-boy jeans and nice shoes. Fashion is difficult for him to keep track of, mostly because he is blind.

History
Quintin was raised by a very southern, very American family in east Georgia. He was the middle child of ten; he was the second son. He was a black sheep from the beginning, his red hair and green eyes only matched by one sibling, his eldest sister, Mary. He also kept questioning his sexuality, something his family could not accept - save Mary.

Alas, the town was small and the back roads were dangerous. One night, on the way home, he and his sister were in a terrible accident. His sister was thrown from the car, which did not have seatbelts, and he was blinded. His best friend, who was driving, was crippled. His sister died.

The tradegy made him turn from wild to lost. He began to drink and disappear into the woods for days. His occasional days of soberness had him working at the family trade: tailoring and sewing. He had a passion and skill for dresses, which became more accute and obessesive as the years past. Memories of Mary wearing pretty dresses played in his head all day, so making dresses comforted him. He felt as if she was there with him, laughing and smiling.

The college years came and Quintin was estranged from his family, living in Atlanta and making dresses for brides. He failed out of classes semester after semester and finally gave up. He settled for just working and drinking. By the time he was 29, the drinking finally caught up with him. New Years' Day was his birthday and he was going to be 30. He was lonely, confused, and still missed his sister so much. He did not want to go on...

He drank til he could not stand up alone, then stumbled out into the crowded street. Rent was due. His power had been turned off and he just spent his last dollar on another shot. As the ball dropped and midnight struck, people everywhere were kissing and laughing and cheering. Quintin collasped on the sidewalk and wept, wishing he could see. Mary. The city lights. The happy couples kissing. Someone who would kiss him...

Then, he felt hands lifting him up and voices all around. He did not bother to ask who they were or why they were carrying him away.

As America began a new year, Quintin was given a new life. A male vampire called Mr. Wyeth had been watching him and felt the man's pain. Mr. Wyeth had a way of finding life even among the dead. He nursed Quintin until he was sober then offered for him to share the flat with him. Mr. Wyeth was an artist. They became close friends and during the spring, Mr. Wyeth offered Quintin the chance to see his paintings.

"How? Remember, I can't see?"

"Well, I have to teach you a new way to see..."

Quintin became a vampire was learned to see through other people. The catch was, he had to become close to them, very close.

Many years have passed since that night and Quintin finds himself settling into yet another city. This time, he is landing in Demaitre, Ontario, Canada. He has moved all over the United States. He has worked in most major cities, including Tokoyo, Japan, Paris, France, and Dublin, Ireland. Yet, he must keep moving for his dressmaking skills draw a lot of attention - something a vampire does not need.

Quintin is based off a painting by Andrew Wyeth, titled That Gentleman from 1960.
