"Son of a bitch..." Livy panted as she paused at the gates of the Stone Forest Cemetery. She was in perfect shape! So why the hell was this bastard, one that had been pegged for petty thieving and mugging be outrunning her?!

He couldn't be a vampire! A vampire wouldn't waste their time with stupid things like breaking and entering without killing the person inside, or at least feeding from them. A vampire wouldn't try to steal cigarettes from a gas station! So how could he out run her? Olivia knew she was in perfect health and at the peak of her life simply because several doctors had said so. After all, she wanted every chance possible for the kids that she was hoping to have soon.

She'd left behind her partner, who'd gone back to get his bike. But nearly six miles into the chase, he was still going strong, and she was seriously winded. How could a stupid little bug-thief do this? It didn't make sense!

"Oh... But it would... If that little 'bug-thief' was a vampire." Came a dark chuckle behind her. "Curious that you even know we exist... And that you even checked to see if I was one..." He mused, watching the play of emotion on her face. It had gone from pale and tired to ready to fight the moment she heard him. But then... Then when she realized what was going on he fear. Oh he loved he fear.

"Shit..." She hissed softly, backing away. She was now in way over her head. She knew she couldn't take him down, and if he wanted to he could kill her before she knew it was coming.

The dark haired vampire chuckled. "Now why would I want to make it that quick beautiful? I know it's a bad habit, but I like to play with my food first. " And he moved behind her, pulling her back against his chest. Her gun had disappeared into the darkness in a second and his lips were at her throat. "So... We can make this easy... Or hard..." He grinned against the warm skin of her neck, making goosebumps surface.

Her response was cut short as he realized what she was going to do. Instead of elbowing him in the stomach, Livy found herself flying through the air by her arm, hitting the ground and rolling, stopping only against a tombstone with a light thud.

"Now darling... You should know by now that you can't really surprise me. So don't try. I'll know what you're going to do the second you do. It's useless. Now... I guess it's a good thing you told this... Dmitri not to trail you at work. That's your vampire lover isn't it? Good... He'll have fun trying to avenge you then, won't he? Smell me over your mangled corpse, try to hunt me down... But I'll know he's coming... And that's really what makes it fun."

Olivia couldn't respond though. She was still trying to catch her breath, trying to work out the bruised muscles from the impact and roll. It took a minute, but she managed to get to her feet, only to find herself captured once more by the vampire. Her arm was wrenched violently behind her back. As her scream died down he chuckled, starting to push further.

"Stop! Stop it please! You're hurting me!" She gasped, feeling the stress on her bones, her joints.

"That is the idea little one." He said as his other hand went to her other shoulder. He squeezed lightly, for a vampire anyway, but another scream broke through the silence. She could hear the crunch of the bones. "Oops... Hmm... Maybe you're not as... sturdy as I thought." He sneered. "Pity... Maybe this won't be as much fun as I thought it would be." He turned her around, letting go of her arm. "Are you sure that Dmitri fellow doesn't shadow you at night?" He asked with a little pout.

Dmitri was standing on top of a building, inhaling the cool night air. Was it simply him or were nights in July colder than they were about 5 years ago? He wasn't sure but it seemed that the entire system was out of whack. Mother Nature was revolting and no one would survive her anger once unleashed. He let out a soft sigh and settle himself on the edge of the building, his feet dangling down. It looked like it would be a relaxing night. It was nice that it was his day off.

Fear shot through the link he shared with Livy. He was up in a flash, his eyes scanning the town. Where was she? He pinpointed her location as the wind shifted. He let out a low growl as the fear shifted to pain. No one was allowed to touch her, hadn't he laid claim to her a long time ago? He had and this other was going to die, he would make sure of it. It felt a query on another link that he shared with an older vampire and he shoved her out of his head. He wasn't in the mood to talk to her now, the territoriality of the vampire was taking over and all that ran through his mind was that one had tried to claim something that was his.

He was off and landed in the shadows of the cemetery to hear the vampire finish his tirade. From the shadows he answered the vampire. "I do not need to shadow her." His voice was low and had a guttural quality. He had made the shift to full vampire. He moved slightly a appeared in the light. His face was distorted by the double row of fangs that filled his mouth, his body was crouched near the ground and he seemed more animal than human. "You picked the wrong vampire to mess with."

"Well, never mind... I'm thirsty. No need to wait, is there? I'm sure he'll find you sooner or later." He grinned.

Livy screamed again as he pulled her tighter, burying his fangs in her neck. He drank deeply, but only for a second as someone joined them. He pulled back grinning, blood on his lips. "Well well! Sooner then, all the better 'eh darling." He patted her broken shoulder, licked the blood that dripped from her neck.

The pain was too much. She choked back the scream as he touched her shoulder, only because she knew that Dmitri was here. That's why he'd stopped.

"Oh come now Dmitri... It's nothing personal. You must understand. A vampire has to feed, and well, she is such a delicious little thing isn't she?" He turned her around, patting her cheek. "You can't say that you don't want to join me, that you wouldn't want to be in my place, drinking... Feeding... Draining her beautiful little body dry..." He grinned at the other vampire, Olivia's blood on his lips.

Fear fell on to Livy's face as she saw Dmitri. She hated seeing him when he was like this, terrified actually. It wasn't like him to look so... vicious. But.... But was this insane vampire right? Would he really want to kill her? Would he be able to control himself now that the scent of her blood was in the air? She knew he'd never want to hurt her.... But sometimes instinct were just too strong.

"Dmitri...." She whimpered, looking at him pleadingly. "Dmitri help m-" But her words broke off into a whimper of pain as he squeezed her shoulder gently. "Hush little girl. The vampires are talking now. No need to fret yourself." He looked back at Dmitri. "Are you sure you really want her? She is so very... breakable. You could do so much better than this pathetic little thing."

Dmitri glared at the man and a low growl started in his throat. No one had the right to touch her. How dare this vampire even lay a hand on her, he had no right, none at all. He was consumed with the single mindedness of the animal and the territory that this vampire had violated. There was only one word that coursed through his mind and it came out. "Mine."

He ignored the vampires talk, there were beyond that now. He had violated one of the vampires most trusted rules. She belonged to him and he had been too foolish to realize his own anger as well as the people that he knew. Foolish, foolish child. "You should have done your research." There was no way that the vampire could see him move, at one moment he was in front of them, the next he was behind the vampire and he grabbed the man's wrist that held Livy and he pressed on the tendon forcing him to release Livy. He shifted again, putting himself between the vampire and Livy. His other hand snaked out to grab the man's neck. He wouldn't be able to escape, Dmitri's grip was firm and tight and held him about four inches off the ground.

"Perhaps I should feed from you, until the blood runs out of your body." He grinned then darkly. "Or perhaps I should give you as a gift to someone, she knows the most delicious ways to take a man apart and I believe she would enjoy something like you." Chi when her insane part came out, was a nympho but also had a vicious streak. She would play with and then tear him apart.

(OOC: How old is the vampire? Ballpark it for me)

(I was thinking between 150 and 200, old enough to have been around, but not really old.)

Just before Dmitri moved, the vampire shoved his toy off to the side and out of the way. The jolt of the impact, falling of to her good side, seemed to bring her back to reality, snap her out of her panic. She gritted her teeth agains thte pain, but clambered to her feet.

She hated herself now for acting so weak... Why the hell had she just froze? She knew how to deal with vampires too, or at least some of them. Luckily she was able to grab her spare gun, and with difficulty she managed to load a special clip of bullets into it. Silver. Dmitri had told her that they worked against some, but not all of them. Hopefully they would work on this one.

The vampire's snarl of irritation turned into a grin, like that of an opponent who'd just made a move to out play the other on the chess board. "Well well. Not only did your little lover tell you about us... Which is usually frowned upon by our kind.... But he taught you some ways to kill us as well? Hmph..." He glared at her slightly, but his look became peaceable again as he turned his head.

"Why don't you just let me go you brute? I see you mean business about this weak little thing, I have to say I don't understand why. But I'll go have fun else where and I promise never to hurt your little... pet."

Livy growled, no longer the panicked creature she was before. She was herself again. "I don't think so. See, we police try to preserve life... Now... I might kill you here, but if I don't, how many will you kill over the next week huh? It would be better in the long run to get rid of you." She snapped, cocking the gun and raising it with a trembling hand. She was physically worn out now, every part of her aching even though she refused to show that pain.

"I doubt you have the strength to pull that trigger." He laughed. "You're about dead on your feet and you know it. All that running... Your injuries... And I'm sure the blood loss isn't helping." He sniffed appreciatively at the air and looked almost pleadingly back to Dmitri. "Are you sure we can't share? Her blood is absolutely divine. I'll even try not to kill her if you insist, but I really would just like a night or so with her to play with." He admitted with a grin. "I'd make sure she was alive when I gave her back."

She pulled the trigger now, once, twice, three times. The vampire's body shook slightly with the impact, but none of the bullets had hit his heart, and apparently he wasn't allergic to silver. He laughed. "Oh silly little humans." He chortled. "Guess it doesn't work hm?"

Livy sunk to the ground, the last of her energy gone. "Just kill him Dmitri... He doesn't deserve to live to even meet her..." Livy grumbled. "Besides, psycho would probably enjoy it...."

Dmitri felt the bullets impact that man that he held up in the air and turned towards Livy, well at least she was learning. He let out a growl and his hand tighten around the man's neck, feeling the bone bend slightly under the pressure. "You don't understand do you? You violated something that was mine and pissed me off in the process. So you aren't going anywhere, not until I let you and it won't be in one piece."

He snarled and threw the man with enough force that he went through the nearby tree. He lifted his head and howled to the moon that glittered in the darkness of the night. He was about to go after the man, when a silver haired woman materialized from thin air and a green-eyed man landed by her side. The man had stopped the man with a simple outstretched hand, stopping him from leaving. The silver-haired woman went to Dmitri and patted him on the shoulder. She then went to Livy to tend to her wounds and hissed in sympathy at the shattered shoulder.

Dmitri had retaken his more human appearance and had knelt by Livy's side. The worry and concern in his eyes would make everybody see how much he cared for the little mortal that he considered his. Chi's hands were already hovering above the wound, her eyes closed. "This might hurt a little." It would hurt, but more as sharp sudden pain, that would last only a second. "Besides you'll be ready for duty again in a few days, instead of months."

Closing her eyes and trying to steady her breath she tried to calm herself. The bleeding at her neck had already stopped, just the trail down to her shirt, a patch of dark red against the fabric. Her left arm though hung useless at her side, it hurt too much to even cradle it.

She looked up as she heard someone approaching. Chi.

Narrowing her eyes slightly, she managed to straighten out her features into a cool and indifferent mask. "I don't need your help. I'm fine. Bones mend on their own." Besides, the pain would teach her to be more careful. Granted it might not heal right, limiting her motion or whatever, but that didn't matter. She didn't like the silver haired girl and she had a feeling that the vampire didn't particularly like her either.

"I'm fine..." She muttered through clenched teeth as she moved even closer.

But like always, Chi just did what she wanted with no regard for anyone else. With a gasp and a sharp cry of pain, Livy clutched at her shoulder with her other arm, shutting her eyes tight. "Damnit you stupid cunt!" Came the usual swear words in a hiss. It would have been the same words to anyone who touched her shoulder really. Or any broken bone.

She took a deep breath as she reassessed the joint. It was sore, rather like she'd dislocated it rather than had it crushed. And though she might have been grateful for that, she certainly wasn't going to say anything. That was just the way she was. "You know... Treating someone against their will is technically assault..." She muttered as she got to her feet, knowing the vampires would hear her.
