Title: Balcony Anyone?
Description: -Panda's Kieran
Aurore Miller - June 9, 2009 06:43 PM (GMT)
David smiled looking down at the printed ticket in his hand, a exact replica of the one recieved at the front booth only this particular ticket was purchased and printed from the internet, "Three-hundred for a balcony seat. Outrageous but at the same time appropriate." Since realizing he hadn't been to the Ave Verum in some time, he wanted nothing more than to experience another grand performance done by outstanding artists.
Walking along the street, tucking his printed ticket into his pocket, the tall, thin, black haired human wondered what he would do after the performance was over. Surely there was enough time after the performance to grab a bite to eat, but his appetite had recently gone into a downward spiral - something he associated with a need to be fed from. It was his body's way of throwing a fit after going so long without a master. He was a blood pet but nature. And he needed the intimacy that came with being another being's nutrition source.
He sighed and smirked to himself, thinking of his last run-in with a vampire. The fun Kieran. The vampire had been more of a child than what is expected from the creatures of the dark, but he was far too much fun to look done upon for his childish antics. David was fond of Kieran, and secretly hoped to run into him again, perhaps have another game of cat and mouse that would end with blood instead of giggles this time. "Perhaps one night..."
It was getting late in the evening, around 10:26pm, the show would be starting in twenty minutes or so. It all depended on what the maistro saw fitting for the performance. David knew he had to quicken his pace to round the next two corners and meet up with the bright lights of the Concert Hall's exterior signs.
When he reached them, the fresh night air making the short trip easier accomplished in a few moments time, David handed his ticket over to the beautiful woman behind the glass booth. "Thank you." With a wink he walked past the booth, through a series of old fashioned doors and out into the openness of the concert hall. Many people in their best finery had already taken their seats and David felt alittle underdressed in his typical clothes; a black, form-fitting suit, with a pair of tall black boots. His black hair was unkept and in his face alittle on the left side, though it suited him perfectly and he let it do as it pleased.
Taking the stairs to the balcony seats, the door to his booth was opened by a short man in a red vest after presenting his ticket, and David sat in the righthand chair of the two in the booth. The balcony had always been his favourite. No matter where he went to see a preformance, he loved being atop the scene, it presented a better view.
Crossing his long legs, the blue-gray eyed man waited for the show to start, secretly wishing that his senses weren't slightly enhanced from drinking tiny amounts of vamprie blood over the years; perfumes from below were scraping at his nasal passages savagely.
Pandora Lorrain - June 9, 2009 07:21 PM (GMT)
Kieran had never been to the concert hall and thought that it was long overdue. He had gone to a few shows with his sire and grand sire, though it wasn't something that he preferred it was definitely worthwhile sometimes. He weas going to get in without paying, it wasn't that he didn't have the money, it was more to the effect that he simply wanted to see what show was playing and if it wasn't interesting he would get out, without spending a dime.
He entered through a side door, making sure no one was around and made his way to the central lobby. Once there, he checked his surroundings and his head abruptly turned at a scent he recognized. His brow furrowed as he searched from where that scent was familiar and decided to follow it.
He went straight up to the balcony level and through a curtain. He grinned at the sight of David. that had been a most eventful night, playing hide and go throughout the entire museum. It had been most wonderful. Yet his grin vanished at the weight that David had lost. "You haven't been eating." It wasn't a question, but more a fact. "Why?"
Aurore Miller - June 10, 2009 11:25 PM (GMT)
Because David's senses were overloaded by the multitude of smells coming from the below seats, he hadn't noticed the vampire child sneak up on him. Only when the curtain opened and he heard the russling of the deep red fabric nestling back into place did he turn; the color of the curtain subliminally making his squirm with need. It was Kieran. The vampire who'd gone on a small adventure with him in the historical museum filled with more than simply wonder, but also the fear of a certain security guard - who David later found out had quit his job.
"Kieran, how wonderful to see you!" David stood slowly but the smile on his face faded as the vampire made note of his weight loss and inquired about it. There was a hesitation in the human's expression. He wanted to tell the truth but at the same time he didn't know how Kieran would react. Some vampires didn't like the concept of blood pets, feeling that it was like carrying around a dirty artical of clothing after multiple people had worn it. Some were even angered by it, feeling that the vampire owners of the blood pets held too human life too highly above the need for blood - making it seem that human were somehow more important, which David felt not to be true.
Reaching out, the black haired man returned his suave smile to his handsome features and placed a hand on Kieran's upper-arm, guiding him gently to the left-hand seat. "It is a small ailment, more physological than anything, Kieran. Nothing to really worry about." Once seated again, he turned his frame towards the vampire and continued, his expression somewhere between worry and happiness to see the Kieran.
"I'm a blood pet, Kieran. I've had two masters in my life thus far, both were taken from me, leaving a need in their wake. I have a physical need to be fed from, like a junkie searches for their next fix, and unfortunately I have gone nine months without an owner." The way the word 'owner' left his mouth seemed foreign and almost wrong to say aloud, so David continued quickly. "Though I do sacrifice my blood to those I have contracts with, I don't give myself over completely; I work for them. I have skills as an assistant and I can take care of things during the day-light hours that they, as you know, cannot. Not to mention that they sacrifice some of their blood to me, not enough to turn me by far, but enough so that over time I have procurred silghtly enhanced senses." He smiled caringly at the vampire across from him, "That's how I detected you that night at the museum."
Once David finished he felt a flush come over his cheeks, a swimming coming over his head that told him he was hungry, though his stomach gave no noise or urge for him to eat. "My body is simply putting up a small rebellion against that need, Kieran. It's nothing to worry about."
Pandora Lorrain - June 11, 2009 06:01 PM (GMT)
Kieran watched him thoughtfully and was not confused by the idea of a blood pet, not even disgusted. He was curious about it. He had heard of humans offering themselves and their blood to vampires, yet he himself had never owned a blood pet. He wondered if owned was the right word.
He shook his head as he returned to the present. "A blood pet? I heard that many Enashe are fond of them because of their love of mortal life." Kieran paused thoughtfully. "It might be interesting to have a blood pet." He was definitely giving the idea considerable thought. He would have to provide for David obviously, but that wouldn't be a problem.
"I'll make you a deal. At the intermission or some time soon, I will have a little snack, but it return you will get something to eat and if you say that you aren't hungry, you better hope that God is on your side." Kieran was not a violent vampire and closely resembled the Nephim in temperament, but like any vampire if he was pushed too far he would use deadly force. "So what do you say?"
Aurore Miller - June 13, 2009 03:20 PM (GMT)
David couldn't help but watch Kieran's expressions change from thoughtful listening to deliberation and then to confident decision - vampires were a wonder to behold if one stopped to watch them closely. "Yes, the Enashe do favor blood pets, but mostly young children and teens from what I've heard. It's typically older sires who are too tied up in business affairs to go hunting on their own who prefer older pets they can take on as business associates and day-light-hours assistants." He couldn't help but smirk that trade-mark confident but cocky smirk, enjoying that the vampire to his left was interested in the subject instead of discomforted about it.
Then the bombshell dropped on the mortal man, his face almost giving way to a jaw-drop before he caught himself, excitement racking through him in hot waves. Kieran is considering a blood pet! Oh, if there is a God, let this creature choose me. Please, let him choose me! The thoughts raced through his mind before Kieran even finished the words 'blood pet'. Normally David was one who took religious outbreaks or prayers in stride as his first master had - 'religion is a mortal inclination to ailment of the soul'. Though he'd meant it to mean vampires were excluded from the bonds of seriously crossing into religion, the black haired man followed the example and used the word 'God' as most did - with no actual belief in the existence of such an omniscient man but more a figure for the goodness of luck that might pass with the use of his name. Like Santa or the Saints of the old Vatican - mythic and real people idolized by those around them for the ideals they formed in the mind and in their actions.
The deal Kieran proposed was one that made the mortal before him sit forward in his seat, almost abandoning his cool in place of eager need. "I would eat an entire murder of crow if you would keep me, Kieran." The words were something between desparate need, anguish and happiness, his brow furrowed though he wore a grin.
In David's mind he was crying out for the vampire to take him at that very moment, but the sollice he found in feeding was somewhat sweeter when he was made to wait. So, replacing his smirk with an endeared smiled, the man sat back in his seat and looked down to the stage. "I finally found him..." David spoke the words in a inaudible whisper filled with satisfied realization under the music that began to play from below, "Finally..."
Pandora Lorrain - June 15, 2009 06:16 PM (GMT)
Kieran had a knack for making people happy. Whether it was simply by being himself or by something that he said. He enjoyed making people happy, whether they were mortal or vampire. He had often found himself in such a situation that a single word or thought could make a person go from unhappy to ecstatic. Apparently telling David that the idea of a blood pet interested him and he was actually considering one, would make David happy. Kieran thought of telling him that he had chosen David but refrained from doing so yet.
Kieran wasn't much of a business man, but he had a few holdings in Scotland that he had bought and that were still his, yet he rarely traveled there and though he did take care of all the paperwork that was involved, he would want someone to go look at them. Perhaps this would work to both their benefits.
Kieran nodded and settled into his seat. He had to change his mind about the deal. He would still feed from David, yet would insist that he eat first. He didn't want David to faint, that would be most unpleasant and not something that he would want to explain to anybody.
Aurore Miller - June 18, 2009 12:02 AM (GMT)
David sat there in the silence of the booth, his broad smile sliding back down into a cocky smirk as he watched the violinists stand in a quartet, playing a small ensemble as a few dancers slid into view with a pale blue spot lot on them. The two were both humans, though David only knew this because the way they moved lacked the elegance of vampires. And though they were only humans, the man and woman in tight, white garments moved gracefully across the stage in total silence but in perfect tune with the music being played for them.
A few more minutes of this act passed and David felt himself growing sentimental - the arts had been something his first master loved and now his possibly new master was here with him in a grand concert hall. It was ironic to him, and wonderfully so.
As if the music queued him, the thin man turned to Kieran with a pleading look, his whole body aching for him to be fed from, "Now?"
{{Sorry it's short and sux, havin a brain fart :( }}
Pandora Lorrain - June 18, 2009 06:34 PM (GMT)
Kieran the dancers and listened to the beautiful music that was being played and knew that the dance, though beautiful was nothing compared to what vampires could do. As well the music was boring. He missed the sound of his native land, the drum beats when his people got ready for war, the sound of the bagpipes as they played throughout the night. The voices that rose to sing of victory, wisdom, strength and death. That was music that made sense to him. This was beautiful, but his mind was more and more distracted. He couldn't keep his attention on the scene down below. This was definitely not for him. Was there suppose to be a story or was it simply a meaningless dance?"
The one thing that did get his attention was when David spoke. His head turned towards the direction of his voice and he grinned. Perhaps a little bit wouldn't hurt the mortal, after all Kieran wasn't famished by any means. He did want a snack. Quickly moving, faster than any mortal could see, he was behind David pulling his head to one side, before biting him, allowing the warm liquid to seep into his mouth.
Aurore Miller - June 20, 2009 05:18 PM (GMT)
It seemed that Kieran's movements were impossible to detect, even with his heightened senses, but it was only that human brains didn't convert over what they glimpsed quickly to their brains for a full view. So when the vampire seemed to disappear and then slide David's head to the side, the human say little more than a half-second long blur.
Excitement overtook the man as he felt the hot breathe on his neck right before the elongated canines were pushed commandingly into his flesh - his wish was coming true. "Kieran!" David cried out quickly but in glee more than anything, the surprise of his sudden decision to feed having already been replaced with overwhelming happiness and gratitude.
As his blood was pulled from him, the man smiled contentedly, every now and again squirming beneath the vampire excitedly. Every mouthful of blood pulled from the two tiny wounds made him gasp sharply, moan and bite his own lip. David's head swam with an ecstatic euphoria and he couldn't help but hold tightly to the arms of his chair, the old carpentry creaking beneath his grip.
Pandora Lorrain - June 23, 2009 06:12 PM (GMT)
Kieran drank the blood and recognized it as the nectar of life, the only thing that could truly keep him alive. He didn't drink too much after all, he wanted a snack not a meal. Besides David hadn't eaten in a few days and Kieran didn't want him to lose anymore energy then he could expend. Kieran didn't want David to pass out.
He removed his mouth for the twin set of puncture wounds that he had created at David's neck. He licked a drop of blood that had escaped his attention and gently placed a hand on David's. "I would prefer if you didn't break the arm of the chair. I'm not a millionaire by any means." His voice was soft and held a sensual quality, yet it was more amused than anything.
He shifted and settled in the chair next to David, his attention momentarily on the dancers below. He then leaned towards David. "How long is this suppose to last?" He hoped it wasn't too long, it was dreadfully boring in his mind.
Aurore Miller - June 24, 2009 11:15 PM (GMT)
David’s head swooned a bit from lack of food and energy, his features the epitome of contentment, “Alright.” He said in a high tone, as if he’d taken a few hits from a bong moments before, his grip on the arm of the chair loosening before her rested both hands in his slender lap. The human smiled at the creature sitting next to him, “Thank you.” It was only a small snack in comparison to what was normal for a vampire to need, and only a fraction of what David was capable of handling, but it was enough to bring him happiness and he appreciated it.
Looking down upon the dancers and the slowing music, the man suddenly felt a loss of interest, the moving bodies below no longer appeasing his need for artistic entertainment. “We can leave now if you would like, Kieran. I’m not enjoying this as much as I thought I would.” After a few seconds he continued, more to himself than to the vampire, "They have no grace, anyway.”
Lazily the black haired man’s long-fingered hand went to the wounds on his neck and he smirked to himself, feeling the small wounds clotted and healing from Kieran’s saliva. What beautiful pain and damage they bring – these creatures of the night.
Pandora Lorrain - July 1, 2009 11:22 PM (GMT)
Kieran was up and standing even before David finished his sentence. He wanted to get out, hoping that David truly wanted to leave and wasn't leaving simply because he sensed Kieran's restlessness. He watched David and helped him to his feet, before propelling him outside of the balcony area into the main area. He didn't even give David the chance to change his mind or say anything else.
Once they exited the balcony area, Kieran was holding David up. He smiled up ruefully. "Sorry. I didn't want to give you the time to change your mind." He gently pulled David along, allowing him to catch his footing. He wanted to get out of here and find something for David to eat. He stopped dead in his tracks not even slowing down. Once he was doing good strides down the hall towards the entrance and then he was standing still.
He turned to look at David. "What do you want to eat? My treat." He was going to make sure that David had something to eat and something with sugar in it, maybe fruit juice. He heard that it was good for people that had just been drank from. It replenished the sugars enough for movement.
Aurore Miller - July 2, 2009 12:28 AM (GMT)
David was swept away by the vampire with little resistance, obviously Kieran wanted away from the dancing humans as badly as he. Smiling the man brushed his black hair from his eyes in a swift and practiced shake of his head, “Not a problem, Kieran. I was bored with them too.” He felt dizzy and comfortably light-headed, like someone who takes a drag from a cigarette after going a long time without smoking. The feeling was familiar and he’d missed it more badly than he’d thought.
“Eat? Oh, right.” Looking down at Kieran, David clicked his tongue softly against the back of his pearly teeth, “What do I want…? Hmm…” His thoughts suddenly fell on fruit salad, a strange craving he hadn’t had for some time, “Fruit salad and a Dunkin Donuts strawberry coolata with whipped cream.” The words were out of his mouth in an almost amused tone before he recognized them as his own, he felt a little lost and disoriented in his glee to have found a vampire considering him for mastership and being fed from.
Food had been the last thing on his list of interests as of late, but with being fed from the body sought out whatever sources of sugars, carbohydrates and fats it could get a hold of. Plus, those were his two favorite things to eat and drink.
Pandora Lorrain - July 3, 2009 01:28 AM (GMT)
Kieran helped him and eased him quickly out of the building. He wanted to forget that he had ever been there. "Remind me to play the bagpipes for you some time. Now that's an instrument worth playing and it sounds strong and mournful. Perfect for a battlefield." He smiled as he remembered playing on the battlefields of Scotland. How he missed those days.
He turned to David, with eyes narrowed in mild confusion. "I wasn't even aware that Dunkin' Donuts existed in Canada, much less in a smaller city like Demaitre. Here it's always Tim Hortons this and Tim Horton's that. The Canadians are proud of what belongs to them, then again they are made of a loose gathering of people of Europe and they are all proud people." He paused in his musing. "Except maybe the English, but even that is debatable." He shrugged his shoulders. "You might have to rethink what you want. Unless you want to go all the way to Kingston, they have a rest stop by the highway that may include a Dunkin' donuts. I haven't been there is a while though."
Aurore Miller - July 8, 2009 11:12 PM (GMT)
David felt a whooshing in his ears and he realized it was his brain trying to reorient itself after the rush he'd suffered and the dizziness from lack of food. "That's right, blast it all I forgot." He almost giggled to himself stupidly, his handsome features somewhere between a happily dazed sleep and a mild alertness to his surroundings, "Canada equals Tim Hortons, that's right. Well," he shrugged playfully, "Tim's it is, Kieran." Standing straight he walked forward in a militaristic fashion, his back straight, feet sweeping out in long strides that took him a few yards away from the vampire before he stopped and returned.
"Bagpipes? I love bagpipes, Kieran. My first master had a small group who would play outside his window during the night hours on special occasions - like the birthdays of dead loved ones and whatnot."
Pandora Lorrain - July 11, 2009 02:53 PM (GMT)
Kieran followed and wondered if it was too late for him to tell people that he didn't know him. He wasn't much a fan of the whole militaristic approach, it reminded him way to much of the wars against the English. The Scottish didn't have a real army compared to the force of the English, which is why his own people had done raids more than actual battles.
Kieran matched him stride for stride. "Do you have to walk like that? I mean you aren't in the military, so why the walk?" Kieran as any young adult, wanted to know a lot of things, in this case it was to clear his confusion. At least they were heading in the right direction, there was a Timmy's just down the way.
He glanced again at David and shook his head. "Oh no, not that lamentation music, I was talking about war music. Mixed with drums it was not only a sight to see, but the hills seemed to vibrate and give us their strength. It were sounds that I will never forget, not as long as I live."
Aurore Miller - July 13, 2009 07:26 PM (GMT)
David looked down at his gait when he realized that he was walking funny and felt a sudden clearing of his mind. In his excitement he'd lost some of his composure in place of almost sheer involuntary stupidity. "Sorry, Kieran. I'd say I don't know what came over me, but I do." he smirked devilishly before adjusting his enstranged gait to a normal walk. In his mind he wanted to just lay about lazily and enjoy the dizziness brought on by the small feeding he'd endured, but he told himself it would serve no purpose to seem more of an addict to a new master than a contructive, useful tool.
"My first master was a meloncholy vampire, Keiran." David shrugged, hands in his pockets as he took in a deep breath of fresh night air, not missing the very slow and human movements of the Theatre. "But yes, I've heard some of the ancient Scottish war consonance and I can see why you'd appreciate them so. They are very strongly written to inspire pride and power to those who listen." His brown eyes wandered over the passing faces of other padestrians, his above-average senses making each detail of their face seemingly hazy but delightfully clear at the same time.
"It makes me sad to think of what I've missed out on in the passed ages of man. But hopefully I'll be here long enough to see more greatness from the lesser species." David smirked and looked to Keiran with a teasing look in his eyes, the vampire no doubt catching onto his meaning of 'lesser species'. "So, tell me... What do they have for food at Tim's?"
Pandora Lorrain - July 13, 2009 07:58 PM (GMT)
Kieran snorted. Like hell he didn't know what came over him. He was pleased that he had found a new master, that much was clear and he was also probably feeling slightly light-headed because of the feeding that Kieran had done. It was clear that David would be a useful tool to Kieran, he needed someone to go check on the property he had bought in Scotland. He couldn't go himself, but David would be able to. He preferred having someone look at the property, then simply getting monthly reports by e-mail.
"A lot of older vampires feel the pressure of old age and tend to be melancholic. I on the other hand, enjoy my life and my time as a vampire, therefore you will rarely see me in a low mood. I keep myself busy with entertainment and games. Every now and again I play an instrument." He loved learning more about music. so far he had mastered the bagpipes, the cello and acoustic guitar. He was thinking of learning a fourth but couldn't decide which one he would go to.
He continued to walk, but gave a David a stare at his question. What made him think that Kieran knew what food they serve at Timmy's? He was a vampire, he didn't need to eat. He didn't think that he had ever walked into a restaurant on this side of the Atlantic. "David, I'm a vampire, remember. I don't eat, so I have no idea what we'll see there." He saw the Tim Horton's up ahead and opened the door as soon as they had reached it. "After you."
(OOC: Just so you know, there are donuts, muffins, salads, sandwiches, soup and wraps.)
Aurore Miller - July 21, 2009 08:22 PM (GMT)
David smirked to himself at Kieran's mention about learning instruments and keeping busy to keep himself from going crazy - it sounded like something he would have said at a point earlier in his life. Now, though, he would be grateful for whatever occupation he could get, whether rediculously underpayed or not. He was losing his mind and running out of money to spend at the theatre when he couldn't get out of his own mind. "I think it's great you keep busy, Kieran. Some vampires spend their eternity simply sucking blood and killing when they get bored." The comment made him think of a vampire he watched his first master kill after the rogue creature had murdered two whole families because he'd 'gotten bored'. His master at the time sent the living kin boat loads of money and a protection was put on their descendants according to his master; they'd never have to worry about death by vampire again.
"Oh, right. My apologies, Kieran." The human smirked and laughed lightly, not feeling embarrassed but rather stupid for forgetting such an obvious fact. "Well, I guess we'll find out." David nodded curtly when Kieran opened the door to Tim's, "Thank you." As they entered a somewhat familiar mixture of smells hit his nose that made him smile, genuinely. Hot and cold coffees, baked good, deli-style sandwiches and soup as well. No matter what it was he ate, he could settle for something substantial - he probably wouldn't eat again until the following night anyway.
Standing at the counter he tapped absent-mindedly on the edge, the ditty in his head playing out on the fake-marble plastic. As he picked from the line up what he wanted a with frazzled brown hair that fell about her face stood waiting at the cash register. David found himself fond of the way the girl's hair fell about her face in a frenzy of curls and ringlettes, she was beautiful. He popped back to the present when the cash-register woman returned.
David smiled softly as he paid the amount due, brushing aside his own black hair. David moved to look down on Kieran with his oh-so-common smirk, "Shall we find our seat?"
Pandora Lorrain - July 27, 2009 11:54 PM (GMT)
Kieran had met some of the more bloodthirsty people of his kind and many were not people that he wanted to hang out with. They didn't scare him, because very often he was older, but he was wary. The reason was that if there were younger vicious vampires, there was a good chance that there would older, just as dangerous, vampires. "Vampires like that have absolutely no life and no care for the smallest things in life. Very often the smallest things in life are the most beautiful." He had seen the dew settle on the grass before the rising of the sun, the snowflakes that fluttered to the ground in the moonlight, the turning of the leaves in the autumn and the warm summer breeze rippling across the surface of a lake. Definitely the smallest things could be the most beautiful.
Kieran frowned at that. Had he not noticed the people that got food, stepping aside to the sandwich counter, to wait for their food. Kieran side-stepped David and tugged him to the sandwich station. "You stay here and wait for your food. I'll go grab some seats." He was a little worried about David. Drinking from him was probably not the best idea, but if David was going to eat, then it was fine by Kieran. He took the booth near the window and looked outside at the quiet street.
Aurore Miller - August 4, 2009 12:35 AM (GMT)
David understood well what Kieran meant about the smallest things being the most beautiful. He'd not noticed them himself until after he'd been given small amounts of vampire blood; the heightened senses giving him a more appreciative view of the world around him. Once, he found himself staring a water drop on the outside of a crystal glass for a half an hour. Just admiring the way that the light in the room played on the water and created a flash of a prism through the glass. Or how he adored the way humans' pupils shrank and expanded with not only light but their emotions, some people's eyes betraying their lies before their heartbeats. "I understand, Kieran. And it is more often than not the saddest form of neglect; that one would willingly miss out on such wonderous things despite their wonderfully heightened senses."
After Kieran left it was only a moment before the stuff he'd gotten was handed to him on a tray and he was turning to meet up with the vampire at a booth nearest the window. David felt a rush of graditude as he gazed upon the vampire. He had fed from him and basically given him the opportunity at a real life again. Working and being a bloodpet was what he was most happy doing; and Kieran was his ticket back into that world. He could not have asked for a better favor than getting Kieran to be his master.
David sat across from the scottish vampire and smirked, picking up his bottled pear-strawberry juice to remove the lid and take a sip. "So, Kieran... Tell me..." He took a long sip of the juice and found he rather enjoyed the way it smoothly ran down his throat and into his more than empty stomach. "What are the terms for this exchange?"
