(note: Sorry about the incomplete profile. I was going to complete it, but stuff happened, and I forgot about it.)
Name: James Smith
Gender: Male
Age: 249
Apparent Age: 17
Place of Birth: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Species: Vampire.
Coven: Ishak
Strengths: James has near superhuman strength and agility, weak telekinesis/telepathy, isn't bothered by crosses, can turn his body into mist for short periods of time making the illusion that he can teleport and can sleep like a normal human.
Weaknesses: Has to drink once a night, can't drink dead blood, will burn in direct sunlight, has no reflection, and a stake through the heart will cause paralysis if not death.
Appearance: James looks like a tall well toned teenager. He stands at 6'3" and weighs around 230 lbs. He has pale frigid skin, and usually wears black clothes very much similar to the modern pop culture's Goth/Emo sub-culture. His hair is black and cut in a short military style buzz. There are a number of different scars covering his body from his service in the Revolutionary Army, including bullet wounds and a scar on his left flank from where he was slashed by an enemy soldier's bayonet.
Personality: James is a strict, but caring person. Due to the way he was raised being a devout Christian, James is highly disciplined, and expects the same from the people around him. He respects life, and doesn't take it if he doesn't have to. He is a chivalrous person, believing women are to be respected, but he won't hesitate to show them a thing or two if they get out of hand.
History: Born March 16, 1760 to Martha and Edward Smith, James was raised near Philadelphia on a farm. His parents were devout Christians, and raised him strictly while teaching him a respect for life no matter what form it took, even the slaves. His family wasn't that wealthy, but they had a helper, a slave they bought from a friend of their's. They needed all the help they could get. The slave was a boy a few years older than James, and was named Francis. As James grew older he became good friends with Francis, and they worked the fields together. Even if it wasn't much of anything, James would give half his allowance to Francis. His parents also treated Francis as a part of the family.
One of his father's friends was a skilled hunter, and James often took lessons from him whenever he had the chance, even while he was still 10. Somehow he managed to balance book lessons, farming, church, and hunting. He had a keen mind and was a fast learner on tracking, and marksmanship.
Then the war with the Indians happened, and Brittain started raising their taxes. To say the least James's father and mother weren't exactly pleased with this as they struggled to make ends meet without the astronomical taxes placed on stamps, tea, and slowly learned of the movement for American Independence. He was part of those people who believed that the idea of leaving the British Empire wouldn't help things, but he was also against the heavy taxation put on the colonies.
After his fifteenth birthday James decided to join the American Army after hearing about what was happening North of them in the other colonies. After hearing about the Boston Massacre, and the events afterwards, he came to the conclusion that staying under British rule would only hurt his family. Francis wanted to follow James into the Revolutionary Army, but there was a ban blacks on serving in the army until it was lifted 1776. Francis wasn't concerned about the promise of freedom, he just wanted to make sure his little brother didn't get himself killed.
James was sixteen at the time, and was one of the more skilled marksmen in his unit. He wanted to do some good, but they were stuck training, and by the time they were deployed British forces had already captured New York, and were slowly making their way to Philadelphia. The unit he belonged to was part of the forces put together under the command of Colonel Moses Hazen. They were all confident that they'd be able to defend against the British, but the American forces were flanked, and it turned into a desperate struggle as Hazen's forces were outflanked, and were forced to retreat.
James scored a number of kills, but in the end he was shot through the stomach, and was among the wounded. He slowly healed, but he wasn't in any condition to fight anymore. So he went back home and did what he could around his father's farm, which wasn't much, as he was afraid of causing more injury to himself. The wound didn't completely heal, and it became infected. As his body was wracked by fever and shivers, someone came to him the night he was feeling his worst. The person was pale as the moon, beautiful, and she had no reflection. A vampire of the Ishak Coven, and she was more beautiful than any woman he had ever met. The woman's name was Cordelia, and she offered to heal him, to give him everlasting life.
Cordelia also told him that Francis was missing in action, and no one found him. For all she knew the slave was a prisoner of the British, and that James wouldn't do the other man too much good dying like he was. Plus now she planted a seed in his mind, that drove him to reconsider, and to find his brother. James agreed to be turned, and journeyed with Cordelia from his home, leaving a note that he was never going to return. James didn't want to hurt his mother and father, and as part of his deal with the vampiress, kept her from harming them. He needed to feed, but he wouldn't feed upon his own flesh and blood.
Shortly after that his first meal was a homeless man, and that was his first lesson, that he couldn't drink dead blood. He was horrified that he killed the man so easily, but kept on telling himself that it was for Francis, that they would find him, and bring him home. Unbeknownst to James, Francis returned to the Smith residence. He was relieved of duty, and returned to his masters. James was none the wiser, and made his way to British occupied territory as Cordelia slowly taught him of living with his vampirism. He started drinking from women that he met on his travels, and for some reason didn't kill them. He was still unsure of what kept him from draining them even when he had tried starving himself.
James was unique in the way of the Ishak, that he didn't sleep like most vampires of his coven, he could sleep like a normal human, and he could even wear the crucifix he inherited from his father.
