Soooo...

If Haine graduated boot camp at 19 and then joined a field group in 2000, he would have been 18. What special ops group did he join, exactly? If it's Special Forces, otherwise known as the Green Berets, I'm pretty sure all those guys have to have the rank of sergeant. Yes, all of them. I'm working with the assumption that he's some type of special something or other because the missions you're talking about aren't general Army missions. Still, more unbelievable is the idea that he's doing this stuff at 18-19. More, your character would have been required to attend United States Army Airborne School. Upwards of 80% of those who attempt to join the Special Forces wash out. Even the 15%-20% who don't wash out aren't automatically selected to join.

Point is, 1) he's not going to be joining so young. 2) he's not just going to be yanked out of Basic and dropped into Special Forces. 3) Is he even in Special Forces or is he in something else because you don't specify?

Some other problems with your application:
Women are not allowed in the Special Forces.

If this dude is in an SF squad, they aren't going to "not trust him". He's there for a reason.

Why the hell is the US Government unfairly persecuting him and rigging his trial? If the other dude in the group was the traitor... they'd label the other dude as a traitor. If there was some information that Leon was the traitor, they'd investigate that. Why would they want to pin it on him if there's information that it was someone else?

He seems to be suffering from perfectcharacteritis. He is an excellent tactical thinker, has above average hand-to-hand skills, and he's an excellent sniper. Is there anything he is below average at?

Other than that, there are assorted grammatical errors, though your meaning still tends to be understood.

I'd classify this application's chances of being approved as highly doubtful.

1 ) Didn't notice the age thing
2) Not special forces
3)private black ops
4) His trial was rigged by the guy who was leaking the info
5) would it help if i listed his strengths and weaknesses?
6)Sorry i can't see any grammar issues ( Not saying they aren't there).

1) 20 is still really young. But OK, you're character's all special.
2) ----
3) Private black ops, unless not military-run, really, really, really, aren't going to allow some fresh outta basic soldier join in--they're probably going to take the cream of the Special Forces, Delta, SEALS, heck a Ranger at least. I don't think you understand how rigorous the training is. And it's not that they're taking the best, most athletic, most whatever recruits, they're taking those that never quit. People trying to become SEALS don't wash out because they aren't physically capable, they typically quit because the training is hell.
4) Right.
5) Yeah, probably.

3)how about if he gets hired by a military subcontractor?
4)------
5)ok then i will
6)Sorry bout the grammar but i can't see the mistakes (Though i'm not doubting they exist.

This guy sounds a lot like Albert Wesker...... coincidence?

Silver Wolf19 - February 20, 2009 10:03 PM (GMT)
I was actually thinking a cross between Jack Bauer, Michael Westen and Angus MacGyver ;) but I guess 1 is simpler to explain than 3.

Haine - February 23, 2009 03:30 PM (GMT)
Personality wise not so much. Wesker is a thinker, and a very dangerous one. Leon is just a soldier. He's more like chris redfield, who he incidently happens to look like.......
