Title: A Date of Sorts
Description: For George's Thefarie

Pandora Lorrain - January 19, 2009 01:10 AM (GMT)
Chi was looking over the display that they had set up at the museum, that she had personally allowed them to borrow. It would be returned to her in a month's time and as she looked at the display she wanted to sigh. Some of the items that she had lent had been badly marked. She looked at the dagger that she had kept with her that had been a gift from her sire when she had left. It was marked at 1000 B.C. That was not what had been written on the box that she had given them, it was clearly marked at 3000 B.C. Mortals and the time they believed things belonged to.

She was annoyed with the display and it showed all over her face. This was the last time that she gave them anything this old. She wondered if she should storm into the curator's office and ask for an explanation. The last time that she had done that he had patronized her, the time before he had been intimidated by Dmitri that had been at her side. That brought a smile to her face. Well, she had to decide what to do. She twirled a strand of hair in between two of her fingers. What to do?

(OOC: Know that it is sort will try to do better later....)

Thefarie strolled into the museum, something he found himself doing more and more. Tonight however it was not to wander down the corridors of time reliving memories or mourning things and people lost in the past, but rather tonight to once again bring full circle his past to his present, Chi wanted to see him.

He saw her down the hall in front of a display wearing body language that suggested she was frustrated. It was odd to see since she was one that was always an outer visage of calm even during the more turbulent of situations.

As he came to stand beside her he looked at the display and based on the subtly of the psychic link they had decided to share to a minimal extent he easily figured out the problem.

Still looking into the glass his eye wandered onto the knife that was perplexing her so much. “You really should tell them the difference between a one and three my dear, how will tomorrow’s generation ever learn if they are fed the wrong information.”

He said it in good humor as a reminder that life was too short, a sort of joke between them, to worry about such little things. “Besides I find the older something is the more beautiful they are.” With that he handed over a single rose, after all it was a date—sort of.

Pandora Lorrain - January 19, 2009 02:00 AM (GMT)
Chi could feel his approach, after all she had called him here. Her body language might have shown frustration, but her face showed nothing but impassiveness. She was annoyed, it was obvious that because of her physical youth no one believed her. That was one of the many things that bothered her about looking so young, no one ever believed even when she was right.

Annoyance came through to her voice when she spoke. "How would they know the right date, they weren't there. I was." Her annoyance seemed to evaporate with the appearance of the rose and her eyes that had been impassive soften visibly. She turned to Thefarie and gave him a smile. "Thank you Thefarie." Her voice was soft and sincere. She loved all matters of plants and flowers were a favorite with her.

She glanced at the display again and shrugged her delicate shoulders. "It's not like they'll believe me Thefarie. After all, what do I know, I'm only a child." She made a face at the end, something that she had picked up from this generation of teenagers. "When I go alone, I get patronized and when I go with one my "guards", I get a quick message that they'll fix it and then they don't. I'm tempted to not allow any of my items on display again."

Neutral_George - January 19, 2009 02:25 AM (GMT)
“I understand Chi, the world almost feels backwards doesn’t it. When you found me you were a woman to all who viewed you and now today you are a child. It is the world’s loss if you ask me.”

Though he didn’t say it, he was thinking that he would speak with the curator. He knew the idiot as he had placed some property on display as well in the previous year.

Turning fully to face her putting the display behind him he offered Chi his arm. “So what are we doing tonight?”

It was obvious that since they were reunited he found himself feeling the old feelings that came those first wonderful nights of his turning before the fire that separated them. He was very fond of her and trusted her completely with his life.

Pandora Lorrain - January 19, 2009 02:56 AM (GMT)
Chi nodded. "It's exactly that way. When I was a mortal I could have had three children by the time that I was sixteen, yet instead I was given into the service of the Great Mother Goddess and did as I was bid. I ended up becoming a vampire and now I'm nothing but seen as a child and that frustrates me more than you could ever know Thefarie."

She took his arm and fell in step with him. "I don't know what we should do, I wanted to go look at the art gallery, I think that I could use some new more modern paintings for an apartment that I'm redecorating. The style there is a bit passe and could use a touch of modern. Perhaps the art gallery will give me inspiration. Would you mind, if we stopped there?" She hoped that he didn't, she really wanted to see what they had and what could inspire her.

She had missed him greatly and there was no way that she could describe the way that she felt close to him. None of the men that she had been with could compare with him. He was more than a man and more than simply her fledgling. She couldn't quite put into words what he was, but he meant a lot to her.

Neutral_George - January 19, 2009 03:13 AM (GMT)
“Looking at art sounds absolutely wonderful.”

It really did, he had become a bit of collector himself; after all he had been redeveloping the building he took her to the first night of their reunion.

Stepping outside of the museum he took a deep breath taking in the scents of the night, “there is a lot of life out on the streets tonight.”

Looking to Chi he smiled warmly, something he was not known to do generally but she was one of the few reasons he ever had to smile in such a way be it her memory, thoughts of her or simply being with him.

Placing his hand onto the hand that held his arm he led her down the steps and onto the street making their way to the gallery she mentioned. “So what have you been doing with yourself lately?”

Pandora Lorrain - January 19, 2009 03:35 AM (GMT)
Chi smiled, her pearly white teeth sparkling in the darkness and unnatural light filling her eyes at the prospect of looking at art. She was excited, happy and pleased that for once they would be able to spend one night at least acting he part of mortals. Doing something that people of the richer class would be doing. "I haven't really been doing much, taking care of a few loose ends. A vampire has been causing problems to some of the younger vampires that I've taken under my wing. Let's simply say that I'm reeducating him."

She was a little bit like a god-father figure. She took care of all that needed her help and demanded little in return. The little she demanded was information about people she seeked to demand retribution or people that could open up doors in different areas. She was a woman that had many connections and used them all very often, she wasn't a person to be trifled with and those that had tried to cheat her out, had found that she was worst then her guards.

She looked at Thefarie and eyed him, her eyes catching his movements. He seemed well recovered. "How have you been, since that sniper hit you? You had me scared shit less."

Neutral_George - January 19, 2009 04:12 AM (GMT)
Thefarie smiled as her description of protecting younger vampires as it was something he had come to know she did.

He winced a bit as he remembered the drama outside her apartment with Max as he was struck by the high powered sniper rifle that may have actually killed a younger vampire. “I won’t lie it’s not a pleasant memory, but everything is back in working order. I had a terrific doctor,” with that he lifted her hand and gave it a kiss.”

Getting to her other question he said, “I have pretty much been keeping busy with more of the same, helping out Max when he asked for something and managing investments in preparation for the next phase of my project.” At his casual mention of Max though, it was clear that he was aware that his fledgling had intentions of returning to town soon.

Not having much more to say on the topic he changed it back to the venture at hand, “So what kind of art are we looking for tonight?”

Pandora Lorrain - January 20, 2009 05:14 PM (GMT)
Chi gave him a smile and was sure that if she had been a mortal, she would have blushed at the compliment. Thank the Goddess for the fact that she was now immortal and could hide her deepest emotions despite the link between her and Thefarie. she was a good healer, having spent hours reading anatomy books and books on where the veins would be placed and what they were composed with. It made healing easier when she knew such things, though it was true that Thefarie's wounds had been extensive and she had to to read books in the library to help the healing process.

She nodded as he mentioned Max. He was a wonderful fledgling and Thefarie had finally stepped up as the sire he was supposed to be. She wondered with Max back in town if he had met up with Catherine. She would definitely want to see him. "Do you think he had seen Catherine yet? I'm sure that she would love to meet up with him."

At the mention of the paintings, she shrugged. "I have absolutely no idea what I'm looking for. I figure that when I see it, I'll know that it's the right one." She didn't have anything specific in mind, but she knew that once she saw it, she would take it. It was better not to get her hopes up.

Neutral_George - January 23, 2009 01:38 AM (GMT)
They walked for a while longer as Thefarie reached out with his senses and felt for Max.

“He is in town for certain and I don’t think that they have made a connection yet. I liked that young woman I hope he is smart and makes a real connection with her one of the centuries.”

Smiling he put the thought to the side and resumed the topic on the painting, “Well I am thinking that you should find something with energy to it, maybe with a subtle ethereal quality like that silver hair that frames your eternal beauty.”

Slowing down he continued, “But my flattery digresses as we are here.”

With that he opened the door for the sire that he was proud to have on his arm.

Pandora Lorrain - January 24, 2009 01:48 AM (GMT)
Chi grinned and nodded. "Well it's good that he's back in town. That boy needs to find some stability. He never sticks to one place." She nodded. "She a wonderfully bright girl and she would keep him in line, is a bit quick to anger at times, but a good person all around. He would be smart to make an honest woman with that girl." She paused and frowned as those words came out of her mouth. "I have no idea where that came from, must have met some sort of christian women a while back." She then proceeded to shrug.

Ethereal quality. She rolled that idea through her head and thought about what she was looking for. Energy with an ethereal quality, it might work. "It would really depend on the color and what kind of energy it had. It has to coordinate with the rest of the room." She patted his hand gently. "We'll see you flatterer." She was smiling though. He may be a flatterer, but she loved the compliments, what women didn't.

As he held the door open she slipped in and went directly to the paintings, by passing the first one quickly. The colors of that one would clash most horribly with the room, yet at the second, she paused and gave it a cold calculating look, placing it on the wall in the apartment in different areas. It would suit, yet something was missing. She simply couldn't put her finger on what that was.

Neutral_George - January 24, 2009 08:17 PM (GMT)
He stood behind her looking at the painting she had decided to focus so critical an eye on. There they stood giants of time confined to the shorter statures they were locked into being members of the tribes of ancient earth, looking upon what one artist hoped would be a marvel of modern glory.

Understanding her thoughts that something was missing and that close was not acceptable he allowed his eye to wander the gallery as she continued to look at the artwork before them.

In truth there was not a lot of this modern world that caught his eye when it came to the arts, he preferred to live in the past when it came to that. No, he came to appreciate many other things of man’s evolution that he felt quite comfortable and a part of, not the least of which was mankind’s developed sense of intrigues.

He waited until she was ready to move before speaking, “Is there any reason in particular you are looking for another’s work to decorate your apartment? I mean your lair is so very reflective of you, both in what one can see…and cannot.”

Pandora Lorrain - January 24, 2009 08:31 PM (GMT)
Chi eventually shook her head and moved on. She barely glanced at the third painting before moving to the fourth that was along the same wall. This time she glanced at it, her eye turning less critical. This one had potential, perhaps. She wondered if she could contact the painter and have a piece specifically designed. She liked this one, but it was too small for the space that she had in mind.

She sighed and moved to the next responding to Thefarie as she did so. "I never said it was for my apartment and if I did, I apologize. It is not for my apartment, but a fully furnished one bedroom apartment that I acquired recently. I want to redesign it to something that a professional could easily use. The decor is getting outdated, so I recently had a new coat of paint cover all the walls and replaced the carpet in the living room with hardwood flooring. Now because of the different paint color on the walls, it requires new paintings." She shrugged her shoulders. "It ends being very tedious." She turned her head to look at Thefarie. "Do you think that the owner here would give me the personal contact information of the painter?"

She giggled. "Did you just call my apartment, a lair?" She giggled a little more. "I don't know if I would call a penthouse, a lair, but I suppose that it does fit."

Neutral_George - January 25, 2009 12:49 AM (GMT)
“My misunderstanding on the real estate situation, and yeah I guess I did call it a lair, hope that doesn’t make me sound old fashioned,” he said with a wink and another rare smile.

He turned and looked out the window of the gallery while Chi continued to view the paintings and he noticed a couple across the street in the alley engaging in the early stages of hot night of steamy sex. It was then he recognized that it was his fledgling.

Shaking his head thinking briefly of the discussion he had just held with Chi about him and Catherine he simple couldn’t see that this was the year that he would be the one to make and honest woman of anyone.

Turning back he viewed a statue in the corner that caught his eye and excused himself to view it in greater detail.

Pandora Lorrain - January 25, 2009 05:56 PM (GMT)
Chi shook her head with a soft smile. "No, no not at all. I like the use of the world lair, it makes it sound kinda evil, but it fits nicely with what it was." He was smiling and that was good to see. He should smile more often, it suited him beautifully and she liked to see him do so. Chi caught his thought and looked straight out the window, she rolled her eyes, she was tempted to go and berate him and then decided to let him be. He would eventually follow the right track, besides the year had only begun.

She eyed the painting and finally walked away disgusted. She could never find what she was looking for, when she searched and when she finally picked something that would do, she would find exactly what she was looking for only a little later. Perhaps she shouldn't look, it would probably be better.

She went to join Thefarie. "I'm not going to find what I'm looking for here. It doesn't seem like tonight I will find what I need. I think that I should simply let my senses guide me. Tonight is not the night for art."

Neutral_George - January 25, 2009 06:39 PM (GMT)
Chi joined him at the statue where he immediately exclaimed, “Is it really so hard? My people and the Greeks figured out the symmetry of the human body hundreds of years ago, how on earth can this generation not open a book and use the formula…by Pluto if this is art then I have a pulse.”

His tone was of genuine disgust, but it truly did not seem to be directed at the art work.

Taking a moment to calm down, “But I digress and I am sorry you are not able to find what you seek here tonight.”

With a sigh, he offered his arm to her once again to escort her from the gallery. “Where shall we go next, perhaps a quite glass of wine or something more adventurous—though I know not what?”

Pandora Lorrain - January 25, 2009 06:55 PM (GMT)
Chi stared at the statue with more interest though. "Well you know, today's society care more abstract of things. The body does not need to be perfect, it simply describes an emotion or a thought." She shrugged her shoulders. "I don't understand it as well. I find the entire concept unappealing though a bit of abstract in a painting is nice, as long as it doesn't overwhelm the entire image."

The glass of wine appealed to her, a little more than going to many other galleries. "Actually a glass of wine sounds very appealing. I could definitely use one. With the frustration at the museum and the lack of anything of interest here at the gallery, a glass of wine would be most welcome. A lounge instead of a bar?" She took his arm, she wanted something a little classy, besides they were both very well dressed.
