Title: Not the Vampire I Expected
Description: -- Pandora

Detention... Yeah yeah... So she got caught skipping... So she hadn't really wanted to go to her biology class... She already knew everything for that class anyway, they just wouldn't let her test out.
It was five-thirty as she left the school, the sunlight had been gone for nearly an hour now. Addy shivered against the cold air, zipping her jacket up. She looked around though, hoping to see Dmitri around. She'd seen him once, about a week ago... But that was it.
She'd been dying to see him, to learn more about the vampires, angry only that he didn't see how people knowing about them could be good. There were always pros and cons to everything, but the pros could really outweigh the cons here! But she couldn't do anything on her own. She'd secretly tried to tell her parents, but well... They'd just laughed and told her she should write all of her stories down and become a novelist.
That had been disappointing really, that they hadn't believed her... But that was okay... She knew the truth... Well... She wished that they had believed her...
Sighing she shrugged her backpack onto her shoulder and began to head home. There was a bus that could take her home of course, but maybe walking, Dmitri would find her and come talk to her at least for a while.
Pandora Lorrain - January 11, 2009 06:06 PM (GMT)
He watched her, hiding in the darkness, waiting to see if anybody would be out to meet her. He could smell the blood coursing in her veins, the smell intoxicating him and erasing any knowledge that a different scent should have triggered. He had eyes for only that blood, the blood that coursed through her veins.
He didn't want to wait, but sometimes waiting was better. Nothing appeared and he took the fact that she wasn't bait. She was simply a free mortal. He grinned and launched himself directly into her path, blocking her off.
Dmitri, meanwhile, was enjoying a nice stroll on the top of buildings, leaping from one to the next, enjoying the night air. He had nothing to do and wondered if perhaps he should check up on Addy. There was one thing that Addy didn't know. When Chi had healed her, she had tied from Dmitri to her a thread of some kind. So if ever she was in trouble or Dmitri wanted to find her. He thought that perhaps in would be a good time to check on her. So he followed the thread that led right to her.
Silver Wolf19 - January 11, 2009 06:34 PM (GMT)
He... He just appeared. Like an apparition right in front of her. She jumped of course, startled by the sudden appearance of the man.
No. Not a man. A man couldn't have done that. He was a vampire.
"H-Hello there." She said, stammering slightly, trying to get her heartbeat to return to normal. "You startled me." She said with a smile. He looked hungry though, something that wasn't good for her because if he bit her... Well she did have the crazy glue of course, but he didn't seem to be nearly as... Friendly as Dmitri.
In fact... he looked like... Like Dmitri had when he was trying to scare her off, teach her a lesson. But she couldn't be afraid. Maybe he was... Just a little hungry.
She stepped closer hesitantly, but towards him just the same. "It's okay. I know what you really are." She said with a smile, keeping her distance as if he were a stray cat she was trying to make friends with. "You... You look a little hungry. Is there something I can do for you?" She was still curious about what it felt like to be bitten, because Dmitri hadn't tried yet.
She looked around, and though it made her feel slightly afraid, she didn't think that he was going to really hurt her. He was probably just hungry. That was all.
"I have a bit of a problem, so I might taste funny, but if you promise not to hurt me too much I could help you out a little bit." She offered.
Pandora Lorrain - January 11, 2009 07:34 PM (GMT)
He eyed confused. She was offering, she knew what he was? What the hell did she think he cared? She was food and like any meat he was going to drink from her and then kill her. He snarled, his fangs flashing in the dark. "You think you can offer me something?" He circled her, his eyes not leaving the pulse at her neck. "Do you have any idea what I'm going to do to you?" His voice was deceptively soft. "I'm going to bite you and then going to enjoy tormenting you, until you die. You might have met another vampire, but not all of us are nice." He snapped his fangs together an inch from her face. "You should be very afraid."
Dmitri paused on top of the building he had just landed on. He could feel a part of her emotions through the thread. She had been surprised and there was a little fear there. He crouched down and sniffed the air. The air was blowing away from her and towards him. Even though he was quite a distance away from her, he could smell the other vampire. A low growl emanated from his throat as he recognized that someone he knew was in danger and was too foolish to realize. He was off quickly to the next building, making his way rapidly and without pause.
Silver Wolf19 - January 11, 2009 07:44 PM (GMT)
A chill that had nothing to do with the cold weather ran down her spine as he moved closer. "I... I won't tell anyone... You... You don't have to kill me sir." It was hard to hear her own voice over the pounding of her heart. She took a few steps back as he paused in front of her. "I... I don't mind really, if you're hungry... But... But you don't need to kill me you know." She said, though doubting that he'd really see things that way.
She was getting the impression, as he had said, that he wasn't like Dmitri.
"Because... Uh.. Killing me wouldn't be a good idea. If... If Dmitri found me... He... He wouldn't be happy ya know? And I wouldn't want him to hurt you. I understand you're hungry. I want to help... But I can't really help if you're only going to kill me..." She'd fallen still. After all if he wanted to kill her, she wouldn't be able to out run him. Dmitri had proven that much to her. Her only hope was convincing him not to kill her. And well... She doubted that would work.
But she could try right?
"I wouldn't tell anyone anything of course. You wouldn't have to kill me or anything. I want to help you." She bit her lip, an idea forming in her mind. "You see... I want to be like you. I want to be a vampire. But until then... I want to help vampires. If you let me live, you can... feed from me as much as you want. I won't mind." She tried to smile, but she couldn't make herself. "Just don't kill me. You can do anything else you want to me." Her voice trailed off to a whisper.
Pandora Lorrain - January 11, 2009 08:14 PM (GMT)
The vampire sneered. "Do you think I care what you think? Do you think I care that you won't tell anyone? I don't care. I kill for the pleasure of killing, not for any other reason. You know if I kill you, you won't be able to tell anybody." He grinned and reached out to grab her, yet he slammed into the floor instead.
Dmitri stood in front of her and growled down at the younger vampire, blocking anyway of allowing him to reach her. He strode to him and lifted him by the collar of his shirt. "Do you smell it now, infant?" The next thing Dmitri found was that he was flat on his back and staring at the sky. He blinked surprised and sat straight up to look at the younger vampire, clearly puzzled. It would have to be his luck that this one would be fast. He shouldn't have blinked. "Too fast for you old man?"
Dmitri stood up and his neck cracked, when his eyes lit on the younger vampire, his face had morphed to accommodate the two set of fangs that laid in his mouth. His fist came out of no where and smashed into the youngster's face where he slumped unconscious. "Now that's why you don't piss off an older vampire." He said calmly as if there had been no fight at all. He shook out his head and his face resumed to its normal appearance. He turned to Abby. "Are you alright, little one?"
Silver Wolf19 - January 11, 2009 08:23 PM (GMT)
As he reached out to grab her she'd jerked back, tripping over her own feet to tumble to the ground, getting tangled up in her jacket and her backpack.
By the time she managed to untangle herself and get back to her feet, Dmitri was standing there. She blinked confused. She hadn't seen or heard him coming. The other vampire! He... He was unconscious, slumped on the ground as if he was sleeping.
"Dmitri! Where'd you come from!" She said with a smile. "I'm fine. But what about him? He... He'll be okay right? I mean... You didn't... Kill him did you?" She looked over at the motionless vampire hesitantly. He probably wasn't really going to kill her. He was just... surprised and not use to the fact that someone knew what he was.
"He just kinda appeared out of no where. Kinda like you did a couple weeks ago, ya know? I knew what he was and he looked hungry... Like he hadn't eaten in a while." She said sheepishly, her cheeks turning red slightly. "I just wanted to help him out. That was all. I don't think he was really going to hurt me...."
Okay, maybe she wasn't one hundred percent sure about that...
"So what you been up to?" She asked, hoping to avoid the likely reprimand that was coming.
Pandora Lorrain - January 11, 2009 08:50 PM (GMT)
Dmitri looked at her for a moment and then shook his head. He really should have been more clear on the vampire thing. "Sweetheart, a vampire of his age will feed on average once a night, if not twice. Every time at dusk when he leaves his home, he will look pale and starving. It's how young vampires are, they are always hungry and they tend to kill their prey." He continued to watch her, almost concerned. "You don't have to worry, he'll wake up in an hour or so under the watchful eye of Chi. She has a bone to pick with him."
"Are you sure that you are ok? Not too badly bruised or anything?" He was wondering if she was actually ok or simply saying it to reassure him. "If he said that he was going to kill you, he probably was. Usually other vampires don't have issues with that, unless they get on their turf. He touched Chi's turf, she wasn't too happy about it." He remembered the look on her face and had quickly stepped out of her way. He thought he was bad when he was on the war path, it was nothing compared to her. It was like seeing a goddess in motion.
"I was worried about you and it looked like I had a right to be. What were thinking about talking to him? Vampires like him don't listen to reason?" He watched her and continued muttering. "He shouldn't have attacked you though, it doesn't make sense."
Silver Wolf19 - January 11, 2009 08:59 PM (GMT)
She shook her head as he asked about her well-being once more. "No, I'm fine... I mean... He's not moving now... and I'm not hurt so yeah.."
Addy frowned though as he said that Chi had a bone to pick with him and would take care of him. "She won't kill him will she? I mean I know I can get grumpy when I'm hungry." She pointed out, trying to ignore the fact that she could have died tonight. Well... In reality she still could.
Then the reprimand came, and Addy winced. "Well... I... I couldn't really run from him. Or fight him could I?" She pointed out. "You showed me that." she stuck her tongue out at him. "So what other choice did I have? I didn't know you were around and it wasn't like anything I could do would actually make a difference."
What else could she have done? "I thought that maybe if he knew I wasn't going to run or try to fight... He'd leave me alone, or just feed and go on. Kinda like playing dead I guess. You never run from dogs. They only chase you cause they wanna play. Or they like the thrill of the hunt." She said knowingly. She'd learned that when she was little. "If I ran or whatever... It would have only been giving him what he wanted."
Pandora Lorrain - January 13, 2009 04:29 PM (GMT)
Dmitri looked her over critically and sniffed the air, she wasn't badly hurt, but she would have a nice bruise on her back side. He simply looked at her, when she mentioned Chi. "Kill him? Oh no, she wants to teach him the rules. He's attacked a too few many people that are linked to Chi, so she wants to make sure that he'll recognize what belongs to her."
"You really have no idea do you about the extent of the vampire world and how they differ in abilities and values as much as the mortal world." He thought for a moment and tried to find a way to explain it to her. "Listen, he would be the equivalent of a murderer, maybe even a serial killer. Vampires such as these are almost the norm in my world, especially when they are young. He wasn't grumpy, he wanted you to fear him, to be completely terrified and then he would kill you. Pining you down and making scratches cover your entire body, while you bled to death and I know that he would have enjoyed every bit of you life running out."
"Addy, vampires like him don't care if you play dead or not. What you did, wasn't right though. You don't offer your blood to him. If he had been a smarter vampire he wouldn't have thought twice when you offered your blood to him. For him it was more about the thrill, the fear and the pain that you would feel."
At that time a car pulled up and a tall dark stranger stepped out of the driver seat and went to the young vampire that was unconscious on the side walk. He looked up at Dmitri. "You really have to learn to control your temper."
Dmitri glared at him. "He hit me." The other vampire nodded in understanding. As he turned from the unconscious vampire, the latter started to levitate. He opened the back door and grabbed him to toss him inside. He then walked to the driver side and got back into gear and drove off.
Silver Wolf19 - January 13, 2009 04:41 PM (GMT)
She frowned, looking at the ground as he went on about what kind of vampire he was. Well if he was just going to kill her anyway, what difference did it make what she did?
"Okay, fine! But what was I supposed to do Dmitri? Huh? Tell me that will you? I couldn't out run him I couldn't fight him, what other choice does that leave me? I mean I'm glad you were around, but if you hadn't been... I would have been dead either way! I had to try something, even if it was a long shot." She said stubbornly. So what if he thought she hadn't done the right thing. There weren't any other options that she knew of. If he was willing to attack her it wasn't like she could threaten him with the fact she knew another vampire. He wouldn't have cared.
She glanced up as a car swung by, talking to him quickly.
Addy didn't ask who they were, what they were doing or anything like that. It was probably just more trouble anyways.
As the other car drove off she frowned back up at him. He was so handsome that such a feat was hard. "So what should I have done then, just slit my own throat or something?" She asked, trying to be angry and very nearly failing.
Pandora Lorrain - January 13, 2009 04:47 PM (GMT)
Dmitri simply stared back at her, his eyes narrowing dangerously. "Being afraid would have been a good start. I can find you if you are afraid. Besides he shouldn't have attacked you. He should have sensed that you knew older vampires, at least smelled me on you." He then muttered the last sentence. "At least knew that an older vampire was involved."
He rubbed his face, clearly upset by the fact that there was nothing she could have done. "God I feel old." Was this the way Chi felt day after day? The entire world around them was changing and their truly was nothing that they could do to stop it, but simply go with the flow. "Let's go sit down somewhere, I think you need to learn more about the vampire world that you so desperately want to be a part of."
Silver Wolf19 - January 13, 2009 04:54 PM (GMT)
"Be afraid? How would that help me to survive?" She asked raising an eyebrow at him. "It only would have been giving him what he wanted. Sure He might have drug it out a bit longer because of that, but still. The ending would have been the same." She pointed out. But then something he said caught her attention. "What? How can you find me? I mean if you're near by I know you could probably smell me. But if you weren't anywhere near by, what good's that going to do?" She asked as she followed him.
She knew that the world was filled with good and bad people, but sometimes all people needed was a chance to change and they could become good, no matter how evil they'd been. That's all she'd been trying to do, give him that chance to be good.
"First I wanna know how you can find me. Did you put some sort of tracking device in me or something?" She asked with a frown, not sure if she liked the idea of him knowing where she was and what she was doing whenever he cared to look.
Pandora Lorrain - January 13, 2009 05:08 PM (GMT)
Dmitri sighed. "Being afraid is one of those stronger emotions, a little bit like grief and love. When one person feels intense fear, even mortals can smell the stench of it. Vampires as you are well aware would be even more sensitive to it, which is why many love to smell it on potential prey. That's exactly the point you would have lived longer and that would have given me more time to get in between you and protect you in the end." Time was what was important here, not the way she felt. If she could give him more time, then she should.
He froze in his steps as she asked the question. Of course he should have expected that one. "I didn't, Chi did and its not exactly a tracking device as a mortal use, it's more of a psychic locator. Which means that I can sense some emotions and if I think that you are in danger, then I can also track you down." It was a useful tool and he was glad that Chi had created it. He had a few links and one of those was with Chi herself, yet because of her telepathy he could communicate completely with her, entire conversations.
Silver Wolf19 - January 13, 2009 05:17 PM (GMT)
"Yeah, but I didn't know where you were! You could have been all the way across the city with no chance of rescuing me." She pointed out. "I had no clue where you were, when you would be there... For all I know Dmitri... I was alone. I was going to die there without you ever knowing what happened to me." Her voice trailed off, the anger gone.
She'd been afraid of course... She couldn't help it. But she'd suppressed it, keeping the idea of seeing Dmitri again in her mind.
It was more irritation than anger that took over her next, as she wasn't sure she could really be angry with the idea of the link to him. it was... Uncomfortable, the idea of him knowing what she was feeling and thinking and where she was... Before she hadn't had to keep anything in check, but now did she have to be careful around him? Try to keep the thoughts of his perfect body, his beautiful face, out of her mind?
She shook her head, clearing those thoughts at once, focusing on the cracks in the sidewalk.
"Well okay, but if no one told me that was possible... How was I to know? Fear and panic weren't going to help me out of that situation Dmitri..." She asked pointedly. "That's why I had to push them away. When things happen where I could get hurt... I've always had to be like that. Because if I start bleeding and I'm panicking, that doesn't help me out any."
Pandora Lorrain - January 15, 2009 06:44 PM (GMT)
Dmitri could sense what she was thinking. He could understand that she would feel kind of uncomfortable. After all, he could sense her emotions from a greater distance, thoughts on the other had were completely closed off to him. Chi had made sure that he wouldn't be able to read her thoughts and he agreed with that. After all, everyone needed their own private thoughts. "I can't read your thoughts, only your emotions and mostly the strong ones." He was going to make it clear to her.
He understood why she wouldn't try to panic. It would be harder for her to survive if she got a cut, blood would just poor out of her and that simple thought made him feel uneasy. He spotted a bench, went to it, sat down and patted the spot next to him. "Come sit, there is a lot I want to tell you about, regarding vampires."
Silver Wolf19 - January 15, 2009 11:34 PM (GMT)
"Ah, well that's good at least." She said with a nod. At least she was free to think what she wanted to around him. And she knew she could keep her emotions in check easily. Or at least she could keep them to an undetectable level. After all, she'd done that tonight for the most part hadn't she? He hadn't known she was afraid, even though she really was.
But she sighed as he said that he had things to tell her. Great... When she'd spent extra time in school already, now she had a whole other set of lessons...
At least this was a far more interesting topic, Addy decided, one that she could listen to without falling asleep. Well, she'd be more tempted to stay awake at least and not just fall asleep or skip. But Dmitri probably wouldn't let her avoid this lesson, whatever it was.
Another sigh escaped Addy as she sat down in the bench next to him. Wrapping her arms around her to keep warm she looked over.
"So. What kinda stuf you want to tell me?" She asked.
Pandora Lorrain - January 16, 2009 04:32 PM (GMT)
Dmitri knew she was relieved that he thoughts were her own, anybody would be relieved about that. He wanted her to feel at ease with him and frankly he preferred to not hear or know her thoughts. It was getting cold outside but he hoped that she would be find for about a half hour. They would move momentarily to better quarters, where she would be warm.
"I'm going to teach you about vampire politics and history as well as what each coven tends to be like." He knew that he would have to explain what a coven was and he would eventually. "As long as mortals have existed vampires have existed alongside them. We evolved as mortals evolved and many of us cannot survive unless it is on human blood. Many of the older people of our species can survive on blood that is not fresh and that we deem dead blood." He took a pause assuring that she was still following. "Out largest problem was that vampires made war with each other regardless of the problems it caused and the repercussions it had on the mortals around them. In the fifteen hundreds, old vampires came to a consensus that there had to some order in the vampire world as there seem to be in the mortal world. Therefore the covens were created. With me so far?" He wanted to make sure that she was following and stopped to see if she had any questions.
Silver Wolf19 - January 16, 2009 09:58 PM (GMT)
Addy couldn't help but make a face as he mentioned politics.
She'd just got done being in trouble for skipping Government class. It was something she didn't want to deal with. She knew that they were there and they made a lot of rules, but as far as she was concerned, she had nothing to do with the whole process and she probably would even if she could vote.
The whole thing was generally pointless to her.
She gave an exaggerated yawn as he asked if she was still following along with his explanations.
"Don't get me wrong, I love history, but I hate politics... I always have..." She said with a sigh. "I was just in detention for skipping my government class. But I am interested in hearing about the covens though." Addy smiled up at him.
Pandora Lorrain - January 17, 2009 12:30 AM (GMT)
Dmitri lifted an eyebrow. "Knowledge that you might gain could be of great importance to some older vampires. Younger vampires can strike it out on their own, but it would be better to be under the guidance of an older vampire. Knowledge is perhaps one of the most valuable resources a young vampire can dole out."
He waited a moment and then described the different covens. "There are six different groups, five of these are covens and the sixth is dubbed independent. This last group belongs to no coven though maybe linked to many of them. Chi is an example of a said independent, yet I know that she knows people from at least 3 covens and are very close and dear to her." He paused and thought about how to proceed to the rest. "One of the covens is named the Amman. I compare them to the police, they made the rules that all vampires must obey and most vampires belonging to that coven are over 2000 years of age. The Enashe are the ones that mingle the most with humans and own the Ace High Casino. Some say that they wish that they were still mortal. The Nephim are sexual vampires and many of them use their wiles to catch their prey. The Ishak are the typical vampires from stories and are vicious as well as proud of their vampire heritage. The Tarepha, the one that I formerly belonged to, are animals and often more vicious than the Ishak. They own the Sinister Puppet, the club." He paused and smiled at her. "Any questions?"
Silver Wolf19 - January 17, 2009 12:40 AM (GMT)
She listened as he spoke about all the different covens, trying to remember it long enough to write down when she got home, otherwise she'd never remember it. So she nodded, grinning at the last one.
"Oh, they can't all be that bad Dmitri. I mean you say you were part of them, but you're as gentle as a teddy bear for the most part." She said, her grin mischievous now. She bit her lip hesitantly it was probably a bad idea, but she had to ask. "Would you take me there? To that club I mean. I want to see it... You know... Vampires in their natural habitat and all that... I want to see them Dmitri. I want to feel what it's like to be one of them..."
Well, really she wanted to be one, not just feel like it. She wanted to be a vampire so bad it was a good thing that she didn't see him more often or she'd start thinking she already was and really get herself hurt.
It took all her will power to keep from throwing a tantrum about him not turning her yet. She didn't want to wait! She wanted to do it now! She could pass as an eighteen year old. She could try at least. And what did she care if she didn't get older. Sure she was a little clutsy now, but Dmitri was just so graceful she was sure that any vampire mystics or whatever would fix that right up.
"I'm tired of being a kid Dmitri... I don't want to go to school anymore, now that I know none of it really matters! I hate it. Every day it's a torture knowing what I could be and then realizing what I really am." She said softly, keeping the tantrum subdued while still telling him what she thought.
Pandora Lorrain - January 17, 2009 01:09 AM (GMT)
Dmitri gaped at her. "The coven is hidden in the deep bowels of the Sinister Puppet, the main room is composed of mostly humans. Maybe once you're a vampire I'll bring you there. Besides once you go there, you'll see a six year old wandering around and she owns the place and is not someone to be trifled with. She demands respect and it's not pleasant when she watches you. She has this way about her that makes you want to cringe but you don't."
He shook his head. "I will not turn you into vampire, I refuse to not let you grow up. The vampire life might seem like a thrill but it is not as exciting as you think. I'm going to wait, because you are not ready, to you this is like getting a new puppy, but eventually you will lose interest in the new puppy. Unlike a puppy that you can discard or give to someone else, you can't become a mortal again. Do you understand? I won't do it, I refuse to, at least until you graduate." He didn't specify if it was high school or college and wouldn't specify, not even if she asked. "Besides what about your parents?"
Silver Wolf19 - January 17, 2009 01:24 AM (GMT)
"How could I ever get bored with it Dmitri! I would really be able to live! Do all the things I want. I would be able to have friends. I'd be able to see things outside of this city, and I wouldn't have to be afraid anymore. I wouldn't have to be afraid of just... scraping my palms if I fall up stairs. I wouldn't have to worry about getting a bruise if I hit my arm on something."
She sighed with frustration as he simply refused to change her, now and probably ever. he'd probably just keep hanging that temptation over her head.
"What about them? I could still see them on occasions. I could live with them for two years before I 'move out' or something."
But an idea was formulating in her mind.... He wouldn't turn her... But what about someone else? There were bound to be vampires who'd be willing to turn her and what was the difference if it was Dmitri or not? If she went to this Casino place, or that Club, there would have to be someone there to turn her.
"Why do you think I care about anything? Why do you think I care about them, or school or growing up?" She asked frowning. "I don't care about any of that. Compared to being a vampire... It's nothing. You wouldn't be taking anything away from me. Nothing Dmitri." She was nearly pleading now.
Pandora Lorrain - January 17, 2009 03:35 PM (GMT)
Dmitri just looked at her. She would stay with her parents for two more years, like they wouldn't notice a change. "That's the biggest problem, staying with your parents is out of the question. How would you explain to them that if you go outside in the sun, you might spontaneously combust? What if you end up sleeping all day and can only wake at night? Your parents might think that you're dead and they might bury you." He was trying to make her see from a more logical point of view. He wasn't sure if she was going to abide by it.
He frowned. "Let's say I do turn you and you do live with your parents, what makes you think that you won't turn on them and use them for food and drain them of blood and simply kill them by mistake. Perhaps you'll decide that torturing them would be more pleasant and you want to hear them scream and beg before they expire." Cruel and straightforward but it was the only way that she would understand. "Or maybe you would like to bathe in their blood? Turning you would change who you are at least for the first few years. If you are a little older it'll have less repercussions, because you wouldn't be living with your parents anymore." She had to understand and he saw something in her eyes, that made him narrow his own. "And if ever I see you angling towards the casino or the club I will drag you out by your hair if I have to."
Silver Wolf19 - January 17, 2009 08:26 PM (GMT)
"Because! I love them Dmitri... I... I think I'd be able to control myself around them. And I have to leave really early for school anyway. I could leave before dawn, say I'm taking some tutoring lessons or something... I could come spend the day with you... Just... Just be with you." She said hopefully. After all, what could be better. Running through the streets, unafraid and free with him at night, once her parents were asleep. Spending her days curled up in his arms, safe from the sunlight as he held her close.
Of course in her mind things worked out perfectly.
But he was just out to destroy them all wasn't he?
"I wouldn't hurt them! I wouldn't Dmitri! I... I might not care about them as much as I should, but they still raised me! I wouldn't ever turn on them!" She said stubbornly. "And I wouldn't hurt anyone else. That's not who I am. I wouldn't ever hurt anyone." Her voice grew softer then, and she looked away.
But then he forbid her from going to the casino or the club... She... She could understand the club if there were violent vampires there. But why not the casino? If she wanted to get a better view of vampire life, how better to learn?
"That's not fair Dmitri!" She protested quietly, moving away from him. "You can't just keep me from learning things I want to learn about... I want to really see what it's like... I want to meet other vampires besides you and Chi. I'm sixteen, I'm not a stupid little kid. I know that I can get hurt, I know that things might end up bad... But I don't care anymore."
He'd said it himself that he couldn't always watch her, so how would he know if she decided to go to one of those places? It was simple... He wouldn't.

Dmitri shook his head. "It doesn't matter if you love them or not, the animal that the vampire is would make you turn on them in an instant and you wouldn't mean to, but you would. I've see the gentlest of mortals turn into blood sucking monsters once they are turned and I don't want to see that happen to you. When you are a little older, you'll have a chance to learn how to control it, but now you are too young."
Dmitri knew that she was upset and this was going to bite him in the ass, oh he knew that it was. It always did when it came to women. "If you want to meet other vampires that is fine, just thought that I'd mention that you are too young to enter the casino they know who are patrons and who they have to card. They would card you, besides for all aspects the casino is normal. You would never be able to tell who the vampires are." He watched her and let a small smile grace his lips and brought his mouth close to her ear. "I would know if you wanted to go to the casino remember the link that Chi put between us. I would be able to pin point you location exactly."
Dmitri leaned away. "As for meeting other vampires it would be better if you met the ones that we know. They tend to have a gentler disposition and the one that picked up that vampire perhaps will be able to escort you to the casino, he's part of the Enashe coven."

She sighed with impatience as he talked about who she should meet, who was safe to be around and all that.
"Dmitri..." She said with an exasperated sigh. "You aren't my dad. Stop please! I think I'm a decent judge of character. I mean I know when enough's enough and I can tell the kinds to avoid." She said sharply. "I didn't walk up to this vampire tonight, he came to me! And the only reason why I didn't fight or run or make a scene is because it wouldn't have done one bit of good as far as I knew!" She was letting out her temper now, not really trying to be nice about the frustrations she was feeling.
"If I were in a setting with other people, other vampires and humans, that wouldn't have happened. He wouldn't have dared to attack me and you know it! If that had happened at a club, I would have gotten someone's attention. Someone would have been watching and that would have kept him away. Especially if there are other humans about. I they want to keep the secret and all."
She gave an exasperated sigh as he said that he could introduce her to someone in the club. "You're so missing the point... I don't want a chaperon. I want to explore on my own. You wanna tell this guy to keep an eye on me, fine. But I don't want some watchdog vampire hanging over my shoulder and not letting me get a real feel for things!"
Maybe the club was a better target....
"I want to make my own friends. Not go on play-dates you and Chi set up." She sighed, sitting on her hands. "But you know... You could always avoid this stress by just turning me." She pointed out.

Dmitri crossed her arms. "Abby, I'm concerned of what you might do on your own, what might happen if you decide to go off and step into a vampire coven. The Sinister Puppet isn't your average club, nobody will come to your rescue if a vampire decides to feed on you. The owner as well as her minions, doesn't care. She has torture chambers on the second floor of the establishment which is closed to patrons and only open to VIP members, which is anybody who has embraced the cruelty and the animal in themselves."
He knew that she would disregard anything he said, she was stubborn. Well he would have to keep a close eye on her, that was it. Make sure no one would hurt her and no one would cause her intense damage or hurt. She was young and knew her limitations, yet she wanted to prove to the entire world that she wasn't afraid of anything.
He shook his head. "I'm not turning you and if you want to go to the Sinister Puppet and get yourself killed than go ahead, but I will not stand by and watch you do so." He had done everything he could to be kind, to warn her and yet she didn't want to hear it. "I hope your parents are ready to let you go, because the Sinister Puppet isn't like any other club. If you die you'll only have yourself to blame."

"Somebody would do something." She said simply. If she started screaming because some vampire was trying to drag her off somewhere, someone would try to help wouldn't they? and then the vampire would be less inclined to try something.
"Torture rooms?" She echoed, a look of surprise on her face. But well... There were some strange people out there who liked doing weird things
She sighed and sat down next to Dmitri as he finished talking, leaning over and laying her head in his lap. "But Dmitri... I... I just want to... I... I want to be with you." Her cheeks blushed slightly at the admission. "I want to be able to be with you, to hold you and love you and everything else with you... But I can't. Not like this. I hate being so delicate, so fragile. To be with you I have to be like you too."
Addy wasn't sure why she wanted to be with him... Or even all of what she wanted to do with him. She could see them running together along the rooftops, wrestling around playfully only to end up caught and curled up in his arms.
But he obviously feel the same way... He didn't want to be with her like she wanted to be with him.... He didn't have that longing to stay with her every second of the day, hold her tight and protect her from the dangers of being a new vampire....
Curling up almost on his lap now, Addy pushed the sadness away that she was feeling, holding back her tears. They wouldn't help her, they wouldn't change his mind at all. She closed her eyes though, curling around him in hopes for a little warmth. But he was still cold. "Maybe I should go home now..." She said softly, unsure of what she really should do.
