Title: Maintaining Boredom
Faith LaCroix - April 24, 2004 03:47 AM (GMT)
Only a few mortals were out and about near the library this late, so she stretched out on a step, running her finger along the cold cement below her. She tensed as she sat up and looked around, hearing a noise that signified something nearby. One arm rested on her knee in the position she maintained, all her senses alert. If it was a human, well, she could use a midnight snack. If it wasn't, then she wasn't quite sure what she'd do. Her strength lacked much to be desired as of yet, but she guessed this wasn't a fighting circumstance.
At the movements she had made, her hair was pulled over to one side, and her eyes caught the moonlight dangerously. Almost flowing, as it were, her coat spilled over the pavement in a mass of black leather. Before she had taken it from someone, she had thought it rather cliche, but it worked for her and hid things nicely.
Running her tongue over her fangs, she kept ready, then relaxed, wishing she had something to do instead of jumping at the sounds of stray animals.
Nafretiri - April 24, 2004 09:18 PM (GMT)
Nafretiri used the silk handkerchief to wipe away a bit of blood from the side of her mouth. The silk was black, something she appreciated because it didn't show blood as easily. Tucking it back into the pocket of her long suede coat, she thanked the gods for her good fortune. Now statiated, she had left her prey in the alley, all memories of the incident forgotten.
Her heels make a clicking sound on the pavement. They were a nuisance when ou had to run, but Nafretiri needed the extra three inches that they gave her. Not that she needed the height to be intimidating, oh no, but it certainly helped.
Rounding the corner, she saw one of her kind standing on the steps to the library. Besides looking a tiny bit frazzled, she seemed not to mean any harm. Very well then, Nafretiri would be polite if the stranger was as well. Giving a small chuckle as the woman's annoyed thoughts beat against the fortress of her mind, Nafretiri continued forward.
Gabriel - April 24, 2004 10:23 PM (GMT)
Gabriel sat on a small set of steps. He had a very large book in his hand. It was titled "The Wonders of Science." He was ready it slowly a confused look on his face. "There's no way humans have been to the moon now....it just makes no sense." He had already read a book on viruses and other illnesses. He had found out that they had cured the plague which seemed impossible to someone who had it.
He took a moment to let all that information sink in while he slowly looked around. He had sensed something nearby and he hoped it wasn't mortal or immortal. He always felt so stupid around everyone since they knew all this information he couldn't seem to grasp.
Skirr - April 25, 2004 03:08 AM (GMT)
Two more heads to count in this midnight excursion. Colton, declaring that the homework was far more important than Codi could realize. Do it at lunch? There was no way. And anyway, they were up already. Codi sat, rather bored, listening to Colton repeat and repeat the reasons for the German and Japan entrances to World War II, but he was rapidly loosing hope that his sister would pass this homework assignment, much less pass the class.
Codi and Colton rarely matched in anything they wore. They may be twins, but they didn't need to flaunt that with those stupid double outfits. Tonight, though, they probably matched six or seven other people, along with each other. College sweatshirts and blue jeans, and whatever was underneath was of little to no concern. Codi had left off her makeup for this outing, and Colton's black eye and swollen nose had faded. Maybe, within the next few days, there would be no evidence that this little skirmish had happened.
They had been here for hours, and now Codi wanted to go. She put on a tight-lipped and stubborn face that made the message clear to Colton: he wasn't getting through to her, and she didn't care anyway. Colton frowned, and stopped talking. Slammed his book shut, and then calmly went to replace it to the self. Codi stood, tucked in the chairs, grabbed the two sheets of notes she actually bothered writing about some 40 years of history, and made for the door. Colton followed, making a move to open the door and get in her way.
"Colt, stop being such a jerk."
"You're the one who wasted my night..."
The twins emerged on the steps, and gazed out into the night.
"Colton, it's really dark."
"Hush, Codi. Stop being such a baby..."
Colton started down the stairs, Codi trailing close behind him.
Faith LaCroix - April 25, 2004 04:00 AM (GMT)
Faith felt a tingle creep down her spine and she looked around, eyes finding one, then another, and another, and..another. She raised an eyebrow in surprise and cracked her fingers.
"Well, then."
She stood, her eyes fluttering to one direction, then the other two. "This is..lovely." Her voice was monotone, she wasn't interested or bored with the situation.
