Title: Taking A Walk
Sev - November 3, 2008 12:10 AM (GMT)
Murasaki rarely took a break from her usual night life. She had fun doing what the mortals called 'clubbing'. The dancing, teasing and occasionally seducing a young guy or girl for some fun...or for some blood. With as fun as all of that was it was rare for her to just stop and take a night off to take a walk, for example. One like she was taking now, hands stuffed in her pockets, just following the path through the park.
She wasn't looking for a meal. She had fed the day before and didn't really feel the need to feed again. But she knew she was looking for something. What that was, though, she had absolutely no clue. The vampire was bored and, she would admit it, a bit lonely. It had been a while since she could actually talk to someone. Someone else that was a vampire, that is. For as interesting as her talk with Link were, she could never talk to him about her life.
So, here she was, in a slightly depressed mood walking through the park. What were the chances she would run into another vampire anyway? Slim, she was sure...
((Not the best opening, but hopefully it works.))

Catherine was a little bored. She kept meeting people and though a lot were interesting and older than her, she could only take so much of the older vampires. She wanted to be the older one for once, yet she didn't see that happening. At almost 400 years old, she was still very young and would be the youngest one for a time, but there were younger ones than her, there had to be. The head of her coven was younger than her, so there had to be a vampire somewhere nearby that was young.
She was sitting in a tree letting her legs dangle over the side of the branch. She had a good view from here and anybody who looked up would see her legs. She was surprised that no one had tried to drag her down yet. She was being careful, yet she thought that perhaps that would be a little fun to be randomly pulled out of the tree.
Her legs were covered in a dark blue material that was soft against her skin. The top part of her body sported a long sleeve, forest green, V-neck sweater. Her long red hair was up in a pony tail and she was twirling a strand of her hair with her finger. She stopped the movement as her eyes caught the sight of someone moving on the path right below. A vampire and a younger one, well she now had proof that they existed.

Really, the last thing that Murasaki had expected to run into tonight was another vampire. This wasn't exactly a hot spot for feeding. Not from what she had seen so far that night, anyway. Though, compared to the clubs she frequented, not many places would have as many potential blood sources. So, with the lack of mortals around tonight, she shouldn't have run into another vampire. Unlife was just full of surprises, though, wasn't it?
Stopping below the tree she felt the other vampire's gaze coming from, she looked up, stuffing her hands into her coat pockets. Staring back at the older vampire for a few seconds, she frowned slightly, tilting her head to the side.
"Is there any particular reason you're staring at me?"

Catherine looked back at the younger vampire and followed her head tilt with one of her own, yet she didn't frown. Had she been staring? no she hadn't been and wondered what had given the vampire that impression. She had been looking, but staring was rude. Everyone knew that staring was impolite and it was so unladylike. Catherine would never stare.
She jumped down and floated gracefully to the floor. "I wasn't staring, because that is impolite. You should simply assume things, much older vampires would get easily annoyed. I know one in particular that would rip your throat out if she was in the right mood." Catherine eyed the vampire from half opened eyes. Some might think that she was being careless and too relaxed for a vampire, yet she was more like the lazy lioness before they pounce. She looked simply too relaxed to not be alert. "I'm Catherine and it's a pleasure to meet you."

She wasn't staring? Well, in that case, she must have just looked up at the wrong time. Plus, she was just used to people staring at her. She probably should have known that outside of clubs people were much more polite. Well, most of the time anyway. With a sigh she just shook her head, running a hand through her hair. Her nerves must just be a bit frayed tonight.
"Sorry...I'm just not in the greatest of moods tonight, I shouldn't have just assumed..."
When the other vampire introduced herself as Catherine, Murasaki nodded a bit before introducing herself.
"I'm Murasaki, same to you. I wasn't really expecting to meet another vampire out here tonight though...Are you hunting?"
Normally she wouldn't ask, as it was none of her business, but she just wanted to see if she could get a conversation going. After all, another vampire, especially an older one, would understand her problem, right? She had probably dealt with it was well...right?
Pandora Lorrain - November 12, 2008 04:59 PM (GMT)
Catherine eyed the person and wondered if that was really a question that she wanted to answer. It wasn't really any of her business, yet Catherine had nothing to hide and she wasn't a mean person by any means. Murasaki did seem sorry to have assumed, so she couldn't a be a bad person herself. "I don't think that it's anything of your business but no I'm not hunting."
She did a small twirl. "I'm enjoying the night as it was meant to be enjoyed. I thanking the moon for the light it gives and the bright eyes that I have to be able to see all." she glanced to the other vampire. "Most vampires take their life for granted and don't see how lucky they are to be here. Most don't realize the excitement and the chance we have to be alive in today's world. So I'm simply outside and enjoying some fresh air and the glorious night that surrounds both of us."
Catherine looked at the other vampire and this time she stared. She looked into the other one's eyes and seem to focus on them. Her eyes changed from that penetrating stare to something that resembled concern. "Is something troubling you?"

Murasaki just nodded a bit and sighed when Catherine started by saying whether she was out feeding or not was none of her business. Yeah, she knew she should have asked something else. But it didn't seem like conversation was going to come as easy tonight as it usually came. The older vampire did answer the question, though, and told her she wasn't out feeding. So it was just another vampire out enjoying the night...
She watched and listening to Catherine as she went on about how vampires didn't appreciate their undead lives the way they should. That typically wasn't a problem for Murasaki, because the things available in this day and age were a whole lot more fun than anything back in the time she had been born. She was just off tonight.
So when Catherine asked if something was troubling her, Murasaki considered saying right back to her if it was any of her business, but she held it back. It was nice to be able to talk to another vampire, so, she didn't want to cut the conversation short. It would be nice if she knew what was actually wrong with her tonight.
"Uh, kinda, yeah...Just not feeling quite like myself tonight. I'm just, walking around..."

Catherine watched the younger vampire and was stuck between concern and amusement. She could tell that this vampire didn't associate very much with her kind and conversation would simply be strained. Catherine had no problems with filling up silence, she could talk endlessly and when she asked questions it was one after the other.
Catherine watched the vampire with a tilt of her head. "What do you mean that you don't feel like yourself? Did something happen or it's simply a feeling that you are getting?" Catherine loved to help and if there was something that she could do for this vampire, then she would. If she couldn't help them, then she would see if she knew that someone that could. That was simply the way that she was.
