Title: cleaning up the streets
Description: open
Rem - July 19, 2008 05:12 AM (GMT)
After a week of scouting the city for the best hunting grounds, Rem decides on the corner of Elizabeth and 33rd Street. She had seen many willing victims come to the corner for service, and leave with a girl under their arm. Tonight would be no different, though the girls might change the service offered never does.
As usual Rem was wearing a tight outfit that conformed to her small figure showing off what she had to offer. Tonight it was leather that hugged her body in the form of a crimson backless halter, black pants, along with 2 1/2" spiked boots making her seem about 5' 6" tall. Her black hair hung loosely off her shoulders, it naturally wanted to hand in her face but with a brush of her hand it was put at bay for the moment.
The trip from her new apartment to her hunting grounds did not take long with the help of a cab. Once arriving at the corner she pulls out a twenty from a pouch in the top of her right boot and hands it to the cabby saying 'keep the change". With a quick florid motion she opens the door and steps out on to the street. The few girls already gathered there glance at her only long enough to judge if she was a customer or just another body for sale.
With a slight sway of her hips she walks a little ways to stand in the moonlight, letting it bath her skin in its pale light. She might have pulled out a cigarette if she had not left them at the apartment as she waited for her target to show. She would wait all night if that was what it took; it was not like she needs money especially the filthy kind spent here. With each new car she would watch in disgust as the women named their prices only after a false name was given, usually something dealing with candy or other goods. Though none of the faces so far was what she wanted.

She wasn't a new face to these streets. Oh no- not be a long shot. Aldonza Hernandez laughed, the expression lyrical and enchanting- the call of the deadly siren. She smiled as she stepped out of the cab- paying the man and stepping out into the not so glittering street lights of the city. Some people thought Demaitre was wonderful- a magical city made of hopes and dreams. She didn't. She'd seen it as a shithole from the beginning.
Nonetheless, it was her home. Home. She had finally found a home- with someone. Someone who was... different. Him.
Aldonza shook her petty emotional baggage away with a toss of her dark hair- straight and perfect- falling over one dark eye as she scanned the girls on the street. Yeah, she was older- and since she started- well, whatever it was with Michael- she hadn't been on this corner.... but just cause she was older didn't mean she couldn't work it better. She knew she could. They were so young- so desperate. Weak. Frail. Pathetic.
Yep. The girls always did change. Even within themselves. And the service never did. That was the game and that was what Al had ended up as. She didn't come to work tonight. She came to see- just out of curiosity- if any of her friends were still alive tonight.
Candy....
She'd almost gotten her killed when she left with Michael- for Michael, risking everything for him. Why? Why had she done that for him?
Al still didn't know.
The Spanish lady of the night wore a pair of tight black skinny jeans- red heels and a red halter- no jewelry to distract from the intensity of her dark eyes, her red lips....
Al put a hand on her hip for a moment as she regarded the girls- looking them up and down. Were any of them Benny's girls? Well he was dead now--- maybe they worked for Juan? or maybe she didn't know them at all. Where was Candy? She usually worked this street.....
"Evenin' girls" Al said with a catty smirk- white teeth a dangerous beacon in the night, confidence obvious. So different. So headstrong. maybe too much. Nah. Never.
Rem - September 24, 2008 03:04 AM (GMT)
Minutes passed slowly as Rem watched others come and go; she had no thought of them. They were just simple women locked in a game of luck, though their prize was not a car or money it was their right to continue living.
Lost in her thoughts Rem glances at the newest mortal to enter the scene; she was all too ready to dismiss her greeting with a nod. If it had not been for the faint scent of death coming from the girl she would have, though it was not the scent of fresh death like that of mortals. It was the scent of a fellow vampire, a young beast at that.
Leaving her thoughts Rem takes her time to give the girl a good look over and sizes her up. Confidence seemed to overflow from the girl as if she was a veteran of the streets; no that was not it or not all of it at least. What ever the cause the girl was of interest, it would seem dinner would have to wait awhile longer.
Soft clicking of her heels on the concert was lost in the night air as she slowly walks from her spot near the wall and closer to the rest of the girls. The brighter light makes her skin seem paler against her crimson and black clothing. Rem replies in a sweet soothing tone " Evening, So are you here for business or pleasure?"
Some might think the answer was obvious, though they would not have realized the play on words. Business or pleasure could mean many things, such as was she there looking for a job to do OR to be done. It is always best not to judge a book by the cover.
Nikolaos - September 25, 2008 02:11 AM (GMT)
Aldonza smiled as a few of the girls nodded or said hi. She began a slow circle around them- looking for her friends in the beaten and bruised faces- hidden by sheets of foundation and clumps of mascara. But one woman stopped her mid-circle.
Pale.
As pale as the moonlight. Aldonza couldn't help but look at her with a little bit of awe. She reminded her of someone else she knew. Someone she was very close to. Someone cold and cruel. Someone she needed. Someone who made her wanna rip her hair out half the damn time.
Michael.
Was she like him? The same strange medical "condition?" She took a step towards the girl and regained her composure, looking up and down her body for a moment before glancing back up at her. She was tall. Thin. Athletic. And Aldonza could almost feel the woman's green eyes pulling her in. her red hair was astonishing and Al had to admit the girl had flavor. But there was something else to her. She was older. Not some little young chick from across the way in the slums.
So, Al being curious- and rather reckless, moved closer to run a finger through the woman's hair gently before touching her cheek with the lightest of contacts. Cold.
"I was looking for some friends...." Al said, her voice a purr as she let her fingers touch the woman's face again, extremely comfortable in her presence, letting their sensory preceptors to feel just how icy the woman's skin was.
Frigid.
Rem - September 25, 2008 04:02 PM (GMT)
Rem stops just a few feet from the girl as she seems to notice her. The girls face changed from her over confident look to one of aw with the ever so slightest hint of puzzlement. It pleased Rem that the girl had found her interesting it would save her some time and energy later; she never did like using her powers on women anyway.
Rem smirks as Al regains her composure and approaches her. She was not sure what to expect as the girl did her own examination of her. It was nothing new to Rem, over the centuries countless eyes have done it. Though most had been from her victims.
She was once again lost in thought when the hand reaches out and glides though the soft strands of her hair with ease. The sudden warmth on her cheek brings Rem's attention back to Al. If Rem had been younger she might have jumped from Al's sudden compulsion to touch her, but that sensation had long since left her along with fear.
Rem was slightly astonished that the girl did not recoil at the fact that her skin was unnaturally cold. She had more than once scared off humans with her icy touch, so it was just a little odd to Rem that Al seemed to thrive with that knowledge.
Once again a warm hand touches her cheeks as Al's soft purr finally give her an answer. Though the warmth felt good, it was a little odd that the woman was continuing to touch her face. With speed and gentleness Rem reaches up and lightly grabs the woman's wrist pulling her hand way from her face.
Al's warmth was now starting to feed Rem's hunger, without thinking her fangs start to extend. There was a reason why she did not stand near the others while she waited for her meal. Their warmth was intoxicating to her, it was something she lacked, and thus craved. Her green hues become slightly glazed as a hint of her hunger becomes more noticeable.
Forcing herself to let go of Al's wrist she asks "friends? Old or new?" in accidentally a seductive purr of her own. "by th way, I'm Rem"she adds after a second.
Nikolaos - September 25, 2008 04:10 PM (GMT)
Al was a little startled as Rem grabbed her hand and pulled it away. Odd- most girls that worked would be grateful for a gentle hand- unrelenting and selfless. But fine, Al didn't protest. She gave Rem a soft smile and nodded.
"The name's Aldonza. And I'm looking for an old friend," she added- a soft smile on her lips. "her name was Candy- might you have seen her?" Al asked, her voice still a warm and curious purr.
"You new here Rem?" she asked, arching an eyebrow as she let her hands drop to rest on her own curved hips.
She was- so enchantingly cold- like Michael. But Michael never pushed Al's hand away--- only.... there was that time- when he freaked.... like something was wrong- that first night together.
Was it the same thing? Similar?
"So if you don't mind me askin'.... where you from Rem?"
Rem - September 25, 2008 08:57 PM (GMT)
with the warmth fading so was her immediate hunger letting her get back to the "job at hand". Al finally starts giving information but of course not with out asking for some. "Aldonza" she repeats in her mind, as she continues to listen to the girl.
"Candy? i think she left about 30 minutes or so ago with a "customer". she should be back soon i guess" Rem replies in her normal soothing tone as a slight puzzled look crosses her face.
the next question was directed at Rem herself, AL seemed to have no fear as she poked and prodded for answers. "does it matter? " then sighing she continues " yes and no, i am new to this corner, but not really to this city. she lets her eyes wonder as she tries to keep a look out for her meal of the night.
the next question caused her to stop for a second to think, she could lie easily to the girl. if she told the truth it would be believed. settling on half the truth she says "China. " and takes a turn of asking her own questions.
letting her eyes settle back on the girl as she reaches out with a mental hand and connects with her. in her soothing tone she asks "so why all the questions? and fascination with me? "
Nikolaos - September 27, 2008 03:38 PM (GMT)
ooc: btw- dnt tell Allie-poo about vampires :P
"Oh...." Al said, a little saddened. She wanted to see Candy- make sure she was alright.
"I hope she's okay tonight.... I have so much to tell her-" Al sighed and looked up at Rem.
"Well, welcome to the corner," Al laughed and gave Rem her usual smile- one that was warm, bright, and always overtly sexual. She just couldn't help it.
"I'd have noticed you before. You're very--- different from the other girls. A lot stronger. I can tell by your eyes." She smiled again and paused in thought as Rem answered.
China.
Well, Michael was from Russia- could they still be connected? No. Not possibly.... Al frowned slightly in defeat.
"so why all the questions? and fascination with me? "
"Because you're cold," she replied, her voice matter-of-fact as she looked into Rem's eyes. "And because Michael won't tell me."
Rem - September 27, 2008 05:45 PM (GMT)
ooc: no worries
Rem was not surprised that Al was concerned for her friend, bad things did happen to those who work the streets. though she needed not to worry this night since she was there and hunting for those who want to do harm. her gift of mind reading was good for something after all.
the girl seemed happy enough as she welcomed her, though it was a little odd for she was never welcomed just nodded at or at times frowned. if the other girls only know her intentions they might be more welcoming, though that would never happen. She could not help but to give a smile as the girl commented on her being different. in her soothing tone she replies "i get that a lot".
Shifting her weight slightly as she lifts her hand to brush a stray hair from her face. she waits for the knowledge to sink into Al's mind and for her own answers. she notes the frown after her answer of China.
she tilts her head as she rises her brow in question as she points out she is cold. Normally Rem would make an excuse of why her skin was cold, such as it is 47 degrees and i am in a sleeveless top. though she knew when the girl mentioned another vampire she could not just blame the weather and lack of clothing.
rem could not help but to frown as the situation turned sticky. this Michael had not told her the truth yet, and it was not her place to tell the girl. thinking quickly rem tries to think of a lie. after a second she answers in her soothing tone "it is a medical condition, something about having an abnormal body temp or something. it is really rare and has an unpronounceable name too"
Rem hoped the girl took the bait, though if she was smart she might not have so she tries to change the subject. "so um, who is this Michael?this if you dont mind my asking? a boyfriend or something?"
Nikolaos - September 27, 2008 06:22 PM (GMT)
"Medical condition," she repeated. "yeah- that's what he said. i guess i just think it's something else. I'm being silly I know." Aldonza shook her head and looked back up to Rem before walking to the curb and taking a seat. She patted the spot next to her and smiled.
"Wait with me Rem?" Al liked this girl. She seemed like she had a good head on her shoulders and she was sweet. And of course there was the strangest feeling that Al could trust this woman.
"So um, who is this Michael? This if you don't mind my asking? A boyfriend or something?"
"I don't know what Michael is to me honestly. hell, I don't know what I'm doing with him half the time. i just- I've never felt this way before. i don't have feelings okay? I'm a prostitute. I'm not supposed to care. I'm not supposed to anything but fuck. I say who and where and when and how much and now.... Now I feel so lost-"
Aldonza shook her head. "it's all very complicated and hard to explain. It's just so- he's so-- something. I don't know what it it but- if i ever.... lost what i see, what i've found in him- I just don't know what I'd do."
Al ran her hands through her long dark hair in frustration. "I'm turning into a hopeless romantic!" she whined, her discomfort in being a person of "feelings" as she put it- obviously showing through.
Rem - September 28, 2008 04:17 AM (GMT)
rem did not give any outward sign that she was relieved Al believed her but mentally she let out a sigh of relief. she watches as Al moves over to the curb already following in suit before she can lift her hand from the first pat.
With a simple "ok" rem finds a to sit about a foot from Al and her warmth. Rem felt a little odd as she could almost see herself in the girl, though times had changed the similarities were still there.
once seated Al starts to pour out her feeling, both about Michael and being a prostitute. Rem listens in silence waiting for her to catch her breath. her words "I'm not supposed to do anything but fuck." hit Rem hard. shaking her head as she thinks twice about reaching out and laying her cold hand on the girl's shoulder. though her hunger had subsided for the moment she knew that if she touched her it would return and her fangs would become extremely noticeable.
Rem noticed that Al seemed uncomfortable about showing her emotions, or admitting she even had them. " honey, we are not just sex machines to be used, abused, and thrown out with the trash when done with. we are human and do emotions, we can say, act and feel like we don't but it is just a lie."
"I also must say there are only two ways out of prostitution, one is in a coroner's bag the other is with support of some who cares. " Rem could not help but sound a little motherly in trying to warn her, though she should know that already.
"this Michael seems important even if it is complicated, take it from me good things only seem to come once in a life time. so do you want to tell me more about him? or anything else on your mind, i am all ears tonight."
ooc:any plot or are we just going to wing it more? oh when do you want Candy to come back?
