History: Clarice was born in Montgomery, Alabama on May 7, 1960. Her parents were hippies in the 1960s and 70s. She grew up a hippie with them and shared their out looks on life. Clair went to many parties and druggie handouts with her own parents. She never left home until her change.
Clair was a kind child but was always in some sort of trouble. She was always mischievous and doing something against someone's rules. She was always truly good at heart but no one ever seemed to see it. Her mother and father raised her as a hippie. Clair was like all hippies. She wanted peace and tranquility for all peoples. Her parents even took her to all the bigger protests and let her protest with them. They thought their daughter was doing a greater good.
Clair protested just like other people. It was a usual thing for her: setting in front of bulldozers and military sites, protesting wars and other fights. She grew to love that life, but everything good must come to an end eventually. Clair never even knew what happened until it was too late.
Clair had been coming home from a protest with a couple of friends when she was attacked. Clair turned a corner a block from her home. She felt like someone was watching her so she sped up. A man came out of the shadows beside her and grabbed her. He pushed her into the shadows in the other side. "P-please don't!" she screamed. The man duck taped her mouth. "Okay sweetie, this won't hurt a bit."
No one came to help Clair and that night she was raped. Clair came home crying, wondering what she did to have deserved this. She became a hermit, refusing to go out. She dyed blood red streaks in her hair. She rebelled against her mother and father. They didn't know what to do and made her move out. The police could not find the man that did that to Clair.
She moved away from her parents and got a home all to herself. She began doing drugs and things like that. She should have known that she would get into trouble soon. She got a house that looked abandoned. She came home to find her door open one day. She walked into the house and yelled at the intruder in her house somewhere. "I know you're in here! Now get the hell out of my house before I call the police!"
A man walked out from her kitchen, startling here. She had never seen anyone this beautiful before. "Wh-who are you?" she asked in a quiet voice, leaning up against the wall. The man smiled, making him seem even more beautiful. "I am Jackson. For right now at least." He smiled at her again , "I have been following you Clarice, and I think that you would be a brilliant fledgling to me." He smiled wider revealing sharp fangs. Clair didn't have time to scream. The man was at her neck within a second.
She felt a sharp pain and began to get weaker and weaker. She fell and he caught her around the waist. He reached out and touched her face. "You are beautiful. You do want to be my fledgling right?" he asked her. Clair could hardly think. "P-p-please don't k-kill me," she whispered to him. He smiled at her and gave her blood from his wrist.
She took the blood gladly and felt a new kind of euphoria. She kept drinking until he shook her off. "You like it. You will make a fine fledgling." Clair then went through horrible pain. She convulsed and shook on the floor. Jackson patted her hair and spoke to her the whole time. "You will be fine. It won't hurt anymore soon."
When Clair woke up and was amazed at the depth of things around her. She also met the thirst that was in the back of her throat. She leaned up and found the man sitting in her chair. She immediately scooted back, a little too fast and hit the wall. "Ow!" she said as she hit her head. Jackson was there within a few seconds. "Come one sweetie. You have to get used to being a vampire."
She looked at him incredulously. "Vampire? Man you are serious. You have got problems." She stood up and he came to her face. She flinched away. "I won't hurt you," he said as he touched her face. "come, I will show you how to feed, and I have a surprise for you." He took her hand and led her to the back room in her house. Clair stopped dead in her tracks. The man who had raped her was sitting in the middle of the floor, tied up.
Anger coursed through her. Jackson smiled at her. "I knew you would take pleasure in drinking from him, ending his life." He walked over to the man and grabbed his hair, pulling his head back and exposing his neck. "All you have to do is bite into his neck." As soon as he exposed his neck, Clair felt the thirst come back to her. She ran forward and hit the man upside the head. She heard a deafening crack. Jackson raised his eyebrows at her. "I think you may have busted his skull."
The man in the floor whimpered and had tears coming from his eyes. She leaned down and bit into his neck, taking a chunk with it. She raised her head back up to him and grabbed his face with her blood-drenched hand. "Okay, sweetie. This won't hurt a bit." She kissed his mouth hard, spitting his own blood back into it, and biting into his tongue and lips. The man fought furiously. Clair had blood all over her face. She bent back down to his neck, taking chunks away from it as much as feeding. After she was finished she looked up at the almost dead man. "You ruined me," she whispered to him. "You ruined my life, my family, and my friends." She snapped his neck.
Then Clair looked back up at Jackson. "How did you know?" she asked, blood covering all of her, she sank to the floor. He leaned down on his knees and took her face in his hands. "I saw what happened to you. I was going to stop him but he was finished by the time I reached the place." Clair looked at him defiantly. Then she looked down at the man on the floor. "Thank you for bringing him. He deserved much worse though." Jackson laughed. "Anything for my fledgling."
&&&&&&&&&&&
Years passed and Clair stayed with Jackson. He was her friend, teacher, and love all in one. They passed through decades terrorizing towns. In the 1990s he had to leave. He grabbed her face one night while they had just finished feeding in an alley. "I have to go." he whispered to her urgently. "why?" she asked terrified at the thought of him leaving her. He kissed her quickly and started to walk off. "Go to Demaitre. I shall meet you there." He smiled as he disappeared into the shadows. Clarice stood there then in irritation. "Stupid Sire. Goes running off telling me to meet him wherever his poor heart desires," she said this with sarcasm. She hauled her bag on her shoulder and rolled her eyes."I can't believe I'm doing this." She started to walk. "Well, on to Demaitre."
Alrighty, I'd like to ask for a bit more from your history. That is to say that I'd like more details of your character's life. Both before and after her change. It seems strange to me that someone that was raised as a hippie would acclimate so very quickly to the prescribed vampire lifestyle. That’s not to say that it is impossible; simply that I’d like more of an explanation.
For example if a man is a priest and suddenly he becomes a vampire, aren’t their moral issues to be examined before he becomes a killing machine? Or even so if he is a killing machine; has he lost his sanity to be such? Or has he found a way to rationalize his actions?
The reason I bring this up is because if Clair was a hippie, well that lifestyle, like that of the priest’s isn’t one that meshes well with becoming a violent and bloody vampire. In addition to looking at that; I would also like to know more about Clair’s sire. After all he’s sort of another parent to her and well I would like to know his reasons for making her a vampire and more so why he chose her in the first place.
Sorry, but that last is kind of a stickler on site. Vampires without a reason have kind of been an issue before, so yeah I need to know, why is Clair a vampire and what has she grown to think of the experience. What goes through her at night, during the day, what is the root of her soul? It sounds kind of new age I know, but in creating a great character it is all about examining your character from all sides. What drives them and what defines them and that’s what I’m asking of your history.
I updated it. Hopefull it is much better. I am working on updating Luna's profile.
First let me say that you should probably go over it a bit and check your grammar and spelling a bit.
Secondly, let me say that your history is much improved. Especially with a bit of characterization on the part of Clair's sire and the explination of her more violent nature. Revenge works for me! :heh:
After grammar and spelling check; tis approved.
