Name: Phillipa (Pippa) Marie Ackart
Gender: Female
Age: 20 Years
Place of Birth: Demaitre, Canada
Species: Mortal
Appearance:
Pippa is generally considered to be an attractive young woman, who has only gotten prettier as she's grown older. She has a long face, with semi-pronounced cheek bones, creating nice lines. Her mouth is small, though somewhat plump, and her nose is thin and relatively unprotrustive, ending with a slight upturn. Her forehead is probably the most apparent aspect of her bone structure, being very wide, though this is partially shielded by her hair line. Light eyebrows are kept carefully shaped and plucked, hovering above expressive, pale blue-green eyes that have a habit of reflecting light in a distracting manner, giving them something of an added glimmer. Her hair is often worn down, to better draw attention from her wide forehead. It is composed of strawberry-blond strands that pour in a thin sheet over her shoulders, stopping just above her waist. The locks, unfortunately, have very little body, and are quite soft and fine.
Her frame is rather long and lithe; under other circumstances, she might have been well suited to the life of a dancer. She is skinny by default, though her body has fleshed out a bit since escaping the teen years, allowing for her breasts to finally make it to an ever coveted c-cup, as well as granting the gift of curves, however slight. Her height has halted at a solid five feet six inches, with her legs and torso evenly matched. Her fingers are thin and long, and rather artistic looking, littered with a few tiny scars from wayward exploits from earlier in her youth, instances which she usually dismisses with a flash of pretty, straight teeth and an embarrassed expression.
Pippa has something of a bohemian style, favoring dresses made of thin, airy fabrics that sport earth tones, interesting colors, and floral or artsy looking patterns. What jewelry she wears is kept to a minimum, and she rarely doubles up on pieces (if she is wearing a necklace, she will not put on any earrings or rings, and vice versa.) She is generally seen with a messenger bag settled over one shoulder, containing a slew of mystery items, the bag acting as her main accessory. She is not a fan of makeup and most forms of cosmetics, the closest thing to these that she gets being the occasional scented lotion.
Personality:
Pippa is a young woman struggling with the reality of being different; not being drastically different from society, mind you, but different from her Mother, or at least the accomplishments that her Mother is expecting, and has expected from her. Finding herself caught between her own desires and that of her parent, she is often at odds with herself and the situations that whiz by, making her seem somewhat wishy-washy and indecisive. Unfortunately, she has little determination when it comes to what she wants and is passionate about, frustrating many of her well meaning friends, as well as herself, for she often wishes that she had the strength to go against the tide, and to stand out. Due to this weakness, she occasionally has low self-esteem, but is generally comfortable with herself, as well as her artwork, needing little assurance in those areas. However, she has trouble acting of her own accord, suffering from a great deal of naivete and dependence on others due to her Mother's tight reign on her life, and shows few signs of somehow breaking free of this, despite her wishes. She would rather be miserable and keep Momma's approval, than follow her own path and risk losing her security blanket.
History:
Phillipa Marie Ackart was born in to a single parent household, one that happened to exist in one of the middle to lower class districts of Demaitre. The single parent was her Mother, one Mary Katherine Ackart, who happened to be very driven, despite being hard pressed in wake of her new dilemma. She loved her child, though she had decided to have nothing to do with the father, and set about accomplishing her own goals while at the same time finding a way to provide for her little girl.
Things were rough at first, what with paying for babysitters, working part time at a local convenience store, as well as attending classes at Demaitre University that were being put toward an Art History degree. Mary Katherine managed to persevere, however, even if it meant working through a few break downs and set backs in the process, and eventually she earned her bachelors before moving on to her masters. All the while Phillipa (or Pippa, her more popular nickname) continued to grow, entering preschool, then elementary school. Even as a girl, she seemed touched by her Mother's work ethic, and maintained near perfect grades in all of her classes, especially taking to art, where she particularly enjoyed creating shapes, vases, and various pots out of clay.
By the time Pippa was twelve, her Mother had managed to secure a job as curator for a local, on-the-rise art gallery, bringing increased salary and job satisfaction that was previously lacking in to the picture. Their living situation certainly improved as they moved in to a much more expensive house, in a much more prominent portion of the city. As Pippa transitioned in to high school, she continued to keep her grades up, managed to make a few friends on the side, and discovered that her love for working with clay extended to ceramics and sculpture. Finding her niche in the schools art department, she made it through puberty fairly unscathed, though her Mom did place certain cumbersome limits on her social life. Though this chafed a little, Pippa constantly bowed to her Mother's wishes, much to the annoyance of some of her peers. The friends grew a little less, but the sincere ones stuck around, though they wished Pippa would grow a bit of a backbone, something of a lost cause.
Graduation came, finding Pippa in the top 5 % of her class. Mother was a little disappointed that her daughter wasn't THE top, but most of the grumbling was kept at bay, mainly due to distraction by her ever booming work place. As college loomed on the horizon though, she certainly didn't retreat from any opportunity to push Pippa in the right direction, i.e. attending Demaitre University as she had done herself, and majoring in art history. Pippa, with her talent and passion for sculpture would have loved to drop the 'history' and kept the 'art' aspect of the major, but was not willing to risk Momma Ackart's disfavor.
Pippa presently finds herself in the midst of her third year at Demaitre University, feeling somewhat sorry for herself and just a little miserable, continuing down the path of art history. The closer she has come to finishing the degree, the more reluctant she has become, having made the realization long ago that she has no interest in running a gallery, but would much rather create the work displayed in it. Faced with this dilemma, she is currently attempting to find some resolve and come up with a plan of action that will somehow suit all parties involved, or at least solve her problem with as little lying and confrontation as possible. No solution seems forthcoming, however.
