Title: Did You see Saw?
Description: For Aury's Cai

Darkasian - October 28, 2007 03:22 AM (GMT)
Saw IV...yeah Rosa didn't watch that many movies at all, but she heard about Saw IV from one of the men she usually fed from, though for some reason never really got to killing. Of course the man was a good person, maybe that was why she never thought of killing him. The vampiress was wearing a pair of tight black leather pants and a blue blouse with a leather jacket. She wouldn't be surprised if she looked like a stereotypical girl who would go see that movie.

The movie itself was definitely better than the second movie in the series. It had a lot of twists that she hadn't expected, and she was intrigued by the man they called Jigsaw. He was the type of man she could see herself being with. Someone who could understand her. She killed men when they were evil, he tested people so they could learn from their own mistakes. They were similar, though she didn't agree with some of the methods used.

They were ingenious traps, and she loved what happened to that rapist. The bastard deserved it, and she wasn't afraid to say that it even made her a little horny. Of course she was taking care of the child of a murdered woman, Mira, but she had a babysitter taking care of the girl.

Rosa loved the girl to death, but she needed a break once in a while, and this was one of those rare moments where she could go out and take care of business while enjoying herself. Saw IV was definitely worth watching, and she enjoyed it very much.

Walking out of the movie theater Rosa sighed and decided to take a little breather in the alley that was right by the entrance. Sighing she took out a cigarette and lit it. Rosa didn't know when she got into the habit, but she just needed something to keepp her mind preoccupied. Saw IV was a truly psychological movie, and she needed to think about it.

Cai was sitting on top of Demaitre's movie theatre, her legs hanging over the side of the edge, her white dress fluttering slightly in the cool breeze. Her long white hair was down, as usual, and she had her ballarina slippers on. She was fiddling with a yellow rose, the color made her eyes long for more attentive things such as brilliant reds and purples. Though she was sired many months ago, she still finds that blood is not the only thing her body screams for in wanting - she longs for colors. Bright ones, any color really, just to see vibrant colors made her smile.

She noticed a scent that reminded her of Al, her sire, it was another vampire. Not surprising really they were everywhere around here. But this one was different, she was curious. Looking down over the edge, the light from the Cinema sign lighting up part of Cai's face, she looked down at the woman leaning on the building having a cig. To get the woman's attention she dropped the rose off the building, it landed on the ground in front of the beautiful lady below.

Darkasian - October 28, 2007 05:09 PM (GMT)
Rosa noticed the young fledgling as she took a drag of the cigarette. Then the girl tossed the rose in front of her. With a sigh the vampiress looked up at the girl. Tossing the cigarette off to the side Rosa leapt up to the fire escape and scaled it up to the roof.

"Good evening." She said as she took a seat next to the girl. The girl herself was probably 17 and was pretty with her white hair and those red eyes. The white dress definitely suited the girl, and she could feel that there was something different about this fledgling. Rosa didn't feel like using telepathy, but she knew that she could easily read the girl's mind. "What brings a pretty young lady to a dangerous place like this?"

Aurore Miller - October 28, 2007 09:26 PM (GMT)
Cai watched the woman scale the building with a smile on her face. Company, that's always good. She thought to herself. "Good evening to you as well." She nodded her head ever so slightly in greeting. Not having the rose to look at any more, Cai resorted to examining the woman's appearance. She liked the way the woman's pants were leather and appeared to have been rubbed in coal, cuz that's just what leather made Cai think of. And the way the woman's blue blouse sang with the moonlight that bounced off of it, made Cai want to touch it.

"What brings a pretty young lady to a dangerous place like this?"

Cai blushed, no one ever called her pretty. "Haven't a clue, miss. A note of parchment told of this place and I've been here nearly two weeks now." She looked up into the woman's face with a smile, "and yourself?"

Darkasian - October 28, 2007 11:10 PM (GMT)
Rosa nodded her head at the greeting. She noticed how the girl looked at her, and smiled. It was as if the girl was perfectly happy seeing colors. "Do you like this blouse?" She asked with an inquisitive smile.

Rosa chuckled slightly as the girl blushed, but it was a different matter when she said that she didn't have a clue. "I was watching a movie here...What do you mean that you've been waiting here for two weeks?" She returned the girl's smile. "So what's your name my dear?" She asked knowing full well it was child's play to figure out that.

Aurore Miller - October 29, 2007 02:20 PM (GMT)
Cai's smile broadened at being asked if she like the woman's blouse, she did so she nodded. An unintentional coy look came over her.

She stopped smiling for a moment and began to ponder the events that led to her arrival in Demaitre. The loss of the only two creatures that she believed ever loved her. "A gang killed my sire. They handed me this parchment," she pulled a little peice of paper from a small pocket on her dress and handed it to the woman. "and I've been waiting for my 'destiny' to show itself. I guess." She sounded unsure and tired while she spoke.

"My name is Cai. Cai Ambrose. What's your name?" Her face was illuminated by the changing color of the lights on the cinema and her red eyes reflected some of the color. She could feel such things, not knowing quite how, but she knew when light and color passed over her eye. She loved it.

Darkasian - October 29, 2007 06:28 PM (GMT)
Rosa smiled at the girl's nod, and took it off revealing a black tanktop. "Here you can have it if you want." She said with a broad smile revealing her fangs. She chuckled at the coy look that Cai gave her, and listened to the girl's story as to how she got here.

It was pitiful hearing what happened to her sire. What was worse was that they made her come here. She took the parchment and saw it was written in blood, most likely the sire's. "I'm sorry my dear." She said with a sad smile. "It must be difficult for you." She reached out and ran her hand through the poor girl's hair.

"I'm Rosa...Rosa Vasquez." She said with a soft smile. "It's very nice to meet you." Rosa thought that the girl looked pretty, especially the way that the lights reflected off of those red eyes. "Maybe it was fate that we met?" She said more as a joke, but she couldn't help but feel they were supposed to meet.

Aurore Miller - October 29, 2007 09:41 PM (GMT)
Cai smiled at being handed the blouse, she held it up to the light to look at the color better, and ran her fingers over it feeling the soft fabric. "Thank you, miss."

Her smile faded slightly as she again thought of her sire, Al. He had been so nice to her. He gave her the best gift in the world - sight. Of all the things in the world that'd happened to her she wished most of all that she could have changed the course of history that took her sire away. But alas she realized it impossible.

"I think of my sire often. And miss him dearly." She hardly spoke but when she did it was straight to the point. She felt the woman's hand run through her hair and shivered. Touch. Through experience with being fed from she automatically accompanied touch with the pleasures that came along with the pain. She shyly smiled at the woman. She was embarrassed at the shiver but moved past it and didn't dwell.

"Rosa." Cai had to say the name out loud. It was beautiful and elegant. Cai'd always found she thought her own name to be pretty but 'Rosa' had a sheer elegance that came along with spanish names. She was jealous.

"Maybe it was fate that we met?"

Cai realized the smile on Rosa's face and knew it to be a joke of sorts but she almost took it to heart. Your destiny awaits you. She thought of the note. Maybe it was fate that they met. Only time would tell.

Darkasian - October 30, 2007 03:18 PM (GMT)
"No problem dear." She said with a soft smile as Cai said thanks for the blouse. Rosa frowned as the girl's smile faded a little bit, but she wouldn't read her mind. Definitely not the way to make a friend.

Rosa noticed the shiver as she ran her hand through the girl's hair. It seemed as if it was a natural reaction...did her sire use her as a blood pet? The older vampiress remembered how she used to have a blood pet, and how the boy always kind of followed her like a dog. She got sick of it and ended up killing him. True it was a waste, but she didn't want that type of man. "We all miss our sires when we part from them." She said remembering how she had missed her sire when they parted ways, Rosa going to Demaitre and her sire to Alaska. "It must be especially painful for you." She said as she moved closer and wrapped her arm around the poor girl and hugged her.

"Why don't you stay at my place for a little while?" Rosa asked letting go of the girl. "There's a child living with me, but I don't think she'd mind having another person living with us."

Aurore Miller - October 30, 2007 10:23 PM (GMT)
Cai only nodded at the apparent pain she felt for the loss of her sire. They'd only been together a year and a half but at least she knew he loved her. And the thought of loosing Khasus too was a painful thought - she pushed the images of their bodies out of her mind with a light shake of her head.

A hug. More contact. Another compulsive shiver. Rosa's hands were soft and friendly. She looked down at the blouse in her hands and looked at her arms themselves. Both were scarred with pairs of two tiny pinprick holes where Al had fed from her. She wanted to cry again like she had so many times before about her losses, but the letter that was now safely back in her pocket was a physical reminder that she needed to look to the future.

"Why don't you stay at my place for a little while?" Rosa asked letting go of the girl. "There's a child living with me, but I don't think she'd mind having another person living with us."

A child? A vampire child? Cai had thought herself quite young indeed but the thought of an actual child being turned... she frowned. "A human child, right?" She couldn't help but sound coy and innocent. She wasn't mean by nature, and when confronted by someone new, especially another vampire, she couldn't help but be slightly more shy than average.

Darkasian - November 4, 2007 03:12 AM (GMT)
Rosa felt the girl shiver against her hug. It must've been a natural reaction from Cai's life with her sire before she was turned. The vampiress saw the scars on Cai's arms, and understood that the girl must've been a blood pet.

Rosa smiled at Cai as she asked about the child. "Yes she is human. I took her in after her mother was killed by a gang." That reminded Rosa that she needed to get back to Mira. "I need to get back to my apartment, you're more than welcome to join me if you want."

The older vampiress stood up and offered her hand to Cai. "I'll give you refuge as long as you want."

Aurore Miller - November 5, 2007 12:17 AM (GMT)
Cai smiled broadly and took Rosa's hand, "I would love that." Her voice was light and pleasant. She felt ease return as the momentary thought of Rosa turning a child disappeared. Thank god. She thought to herself, still holding Rosa's hand.

"It was kind of you to take her in, Rosa." She found she liked to say her name. It was a name that rang sweetly when spoken aloud. "Where do you two live?"

Cai let go of Rosa's hand long enough to hold the blouse and hold it secure in her right before returning her empty hand. Rosa's fingers were shorter than Cai's but she didn't care. And now that she stood she realized she was also taller than the woman. A smirk caught her face by suprise and she blushed. There was at least a half a foot of height difference between them. But Rosa's beauty overcame her height, so it mattered not.

Darkasian - November 7, 2007 05:54 AM (GMT)
Rosa smiled as she heard Cai's thought. She figured that it was Mira, but Rosa didn't say anything. Rosa squeezed the girl's hand gently as they walked.

"I found her by herself...I couldn't just leave her on the streets...I'm actually pretty sure that she a descendent of mine too. I've been meaning to check on her family history, but I haven't had the time to." Rosa looked at up the street. "Mira and I live a few blocks from here...maybe a ten minute walk." Rosa kind of spoiled herself buying it, but she had enough money to pay the rent and take care of both of them.

Rosa instinctively turned around as Cai let go of her hand, and the vampiress was happy to see the fledgling made sure she had the blouse secured. Rosa saw the smirk and she giggled a little bit as she returned to holding Cai's hand. "Most people are taller than me, but I don't mind at all." She made a slight punching motion with her free hand. "Makes it easier for me in a fight." Rosa grinned widely and laughed.

Aurore Miller - November 7, 2007 09:30 PM (GMT)
Cai smiled and giggled lightly at Rosa talking about fighting others and her height being an advantage. Cai'd never really been in a fight and the one she'd witnessed kind of ruined the experience for her. But Cai was sure that in a situation that called for it again - she would be able to hold her own.

As they began to walk Cai's eyes wavered back and forth between Rosa and the bright lights that passed them by. She couldn't help but admire the lights but when she looked at Rosa it was different. Her hair looked soft and the rich dark color of it wonderful to Cai's eyes and she found she wanted to reach up and touch it. But alas her hands were both occupied and she didn't want to seem strange to the woman.

Smiling absent-mindedly she ran her fingers lightly over the fabric of the purple blouse in her hand.

Darkasian - November 7, 2007 11:19 PM (GMT)
Every once in a while Rosa would look back at Cai and see her just looking around from her to the lights that passed her. She knew it was a personal question, but she had to ask it. "Were you blind before you were turned Cai?" She asked turning her head to look at the girl. Even as she paid full attention she kept walking down the street even dodging obstacles instinctively.

Rosa wouldn't have minded Cai running her hand through the older vampiress's hair, but she couldn't tell what Cai wanted. True reading her mind would've been easy, but it also was one of those no-no's for Rosa. Unless she going to feed from the girl she wouldn't read the girl's mind. Of course some thoughts were louder than others, but she made believe that she didn't hear them.

Aurore Miller - November 8, 2007 12:09 AM (GMT)
Cai blushed at the question and falttered slightly. She hadn't been expecting that question to surface. She nodded. "Yes, I was." Her porcelain face was distant and almost without expression though her cheeks had a soft pink hue. She'd been in the dark for so long. Her siring had been the gift she'd wanted all her life.

A neon sign caught her eye and she was temporarily held by it as she watched the blues and greens flash at her with amazing brightness in the darkness of night and the path they walked. At this point she was letting Rosa guide her every step. If Rosa moved to avoid something she instinctively followed without hesitation.

Her hand tightened around the soft blouse in her hand and she smiled in a far off way as Khasus' and Al's faces popped into her head. She missed them and always would. But either way, she could see and had seen them. Cai felt her heart build up a crying fit but she faught it off with a look at Rosa and a forced smile.

"What did the blood give you?" Cai's voice was not quite her own. It was shy but not the quiet girl type shy, more of an interested adult trying to be coy type voice.

Darkasian - November 8, 2007 04:46 AM (GMT)
Rosa nodded at Cai's answer. "I'm sorry." She said turning away at the porcelain face with a hint of pink. "I didn't mean to offend you or anything." She said with a sad smile.

Rosa turned and saw that a neon sign had caught the girl's attention and the vampiress sighed. She smiled as the girl instinctively followed her where she went. Rosa was tempted to jump and see what the girl would do, but she was nice and held back that urge. Then Cai asked her what the blood gave her back. Stopping abruptly Rosa turned to the girl and smiled. "It gave me my life back...I was one of the many unfortunate victims of the Spanish Inquisition." She turned around wiping a tear away. "I was burned alive, but the blood healed me and gave me the power to take revenge on the man who betrayed me."

Rosa turned again and started walking again. She didn't feel comfortable talking about it in the public, but she was sure that whoever happened to listen in on their conversation thought they were in a movie or something. "I'll talk more about it in my apartment." She said not looking at the girl. Rosa didn't want Cai to see her all emotional. She wasn't really one to be emotional, but when it came to her cange Rosa wanted to simply forget about them, but that wasn't possible.

Aurore Miller - November 9, 2007 01:13 AM (GMT)
Cai smiled to reassure Rosa, "You didn't offend me. It's just, that was the first time I'd been asked that particular question." She squeezed Rosa's hand and looked back at her dark rich hair. Rosa's hair was beautiful and Cai still wanted to touch it was instead resorted to taking in the rest of Rosa's features.

When she shed a single tear about her past and how the blood had given her another chance at life - Cai felt that she really hadn't had human life that bad. Sure, she had no friends really and she'd been blind - but she hadn't been burnt alive. Her face was an unsure smile and she felt the pang of interest as she listened about Rosa's past. So, as she'd suspected, Rosa was much older than her.

Cai's tummy growled slightly and she let go on Rosa's hand and stopped momentarily and touched her stomach. She longed for blood. "I don't understand, I just fed 3 days ago." She looked down at Rosa with uncertainty in her red eyes. Could it really be time to feed already?

Darkasian - November 10, 2007 04:45 AM (GMT)
Rosa nodded listening to the girl. She didn't want to offend Cai, and it was kind of a relief that she didn't. Just the way that the girl reacted was kind of a sign of maybe offending her.

The vampiress looked back at Cai and saw the unsure smile. "My apartment's a block from here." She said knowing that the girl was kind of intrigued by her past. "I'll share what it was like for me." Smiling Rosa squeezed the girl's hand.

The growl wasn't quite loud, but Rosa heard it easily. "Want to eat first?" She asked looking back at the girl. They could easily find someone to feed on, but she wanted to see what Cai's tastes were.

Aurore Miller - November 10, 2007 08:01 PM (GMT)
Cai gave a slightly embarrassed smile and nodded. Looking around at the passing strangers and noticed a young man of probably 25 or 27 years old, slim, clean shaven and dressed like an italian ganster. Her red eyes filled with hunger as she looked at him and could almost feel his heart beat relflecting in his gaze as he looked around and noticed the two vampires. His eyes didn't linger on them and indeed hadn't even really focused on them - it was simply a scanning look that told Cai he was just looking for direct threats to whatever he was doing.

The young man was leaning against a blue van that was parked at the end of an alleyway. "Him." She said pointing like a child at a new toy.

Darkasian - November 12, 2007 02:48 AM (GMT)
Rosa eyed the boy as he walked past them scanning them for threats. The vampiress saw that Cai was longing for him. With a soft sigh Rosa closed her eyes and followed the man into the alleyway. Rosa was probing the boy's mind, and found a hook where she forced him to follow her further into the alley, away from the people.

When they were far enough away Rosa stopped and started making out with him. Then she bit down on his neck taking a little bit to feed herself, but he kept him alive. She made sure he couldn't feel any pain. "Come feed Cai." She said beckoning the girl.

Aurore Miller - November 12, 2007 03:17 AM (GMT)
Cai watched with distant amusement as Rosa tagged the guy and began to feed lightly. When beckoned she walked forward and put her mouth over the same two holes that Rosa had fed from. Pulling his blood hard, she fed for a few moments.

She hadn't realized it but after a few seconds, she made two more holes in his neck that were more the size of gashes than Rosa's simple pinprick bites. She pulled harder on his neck and felt him falter, but she caught him in a firm grasp. Her eyes were closed and she could feel his skin grow cold by a few degrees.

Cai was killing him and didn't stop until she felt the gentle grumble of a full belly. She dropped him to the ground and opened her eyes. A unintentional hiss escaped her blood stained mouth. The man fainted and continued to bleed out.

"I'm full." Was all Cai said as she reached out for Rosa's hand.

Darkasian - November 12, 2007 03:40 AM (GMT)
Rosa watched as Cai fed from the man. It was very much similar to the way she used to feed. When the girl said that she was done Rosa simply picked him up using telekinesis and placed him in a nearby dumpster. He'd bleed out, but she truly didn't care. Old habits die hard, and she was one to kill while feeding.

Rosa took the girl's hand and smiled. "You've got something on your face." She said licking the blood away from the girl's mouth. Her tongue darted out and flicked at the girl's cheeks and lips. "We ladies need to have some finesse." She smiled led the girl back out to the street. "Now we can meet the other girl I'm sharing my home with."

Rosa hoped Mira would be happy to meet Cai, but who knew? Mira had been kind of clingy to the vampiress, and maybe there'd be a little jealousy, but who knew?

Aurore Miller - November 12, 2007 05:23 PM (GMT)
Cai giggled as Rosa licked her face then nodded at the comment about finesse. "I can't wait." She really did want to meet the other little girl who was staying with Rosa. She wondered what she would be like.

Of course, she knew that there might be a little hidden rivalry about attention with Rosa. Seeing as in the short time that Cai had been with Rosa she'd already become attached to her. Hopefully the little girl at the abode would not see Cai as a threat to her and Rosa's relationship.

Cai got lost in the sensation that the man's blood gave her - the warm tingly feeling in her eyes and limbs. The comforted sensation of being full. It was like being alive after a nice big holiday dinner. Cai smiled and then suddenly stopped.

What if Rosa kept Cai as a blood pet? She would be absolutely exstatic. Lost and found like a kitten or a puppy that'd been left in a cardboard box on the side of the road. She squeezed Rosa's hand as they continued to walk.

Darkasian - November 12, 2007 06:31 PM (GMT)
Rosa smiled as the girl said she couldn't wait. "You'll love Cai...the only thing is she can't speak much English." She said remembering that Mira didn't learn any English.

As they started walking again Rosa felt Cai stop. "What is it Cai?" Maybe it was time to probe a little bit, but the vampiress held back. It felt like the girl wanted something else.

From the scars on the girl's body Rosa knew that she was a blood pet, and was probably looking for someone to keep her as a blood pet. Rosa would think about it, though it would be good for both Mira and herself.

Aurore Miller - November 12, 2007 06:44 PM (GMT)
"Nothing, Rosa." Cai forced an easy smile to cover her thoughts. "Just... spacing out." She looked around for a few more moments as they continued to walk. Many different colored signs and people's clothes catching her eye. She again ran her thumb over the blouse she had bundled in her arm, it was still soft.

"How much farther?" She was excited to be able to meet Mira - even if she didn't speak english. Of course that wasn't a big deal because Cai had lived in a boarding school environment so she'd been taught to speak German, Russian and alittle french. So she wasn't completely in the dark when it came to other languages.

"What language does Mira speak?" Cai asked with a friendly smirk.

Darkasian - November 12, 2007 07:03 PM (GMT)
Rosa nodded as they kept walking. So it was something that Cai wanted to keep to herself. "Oh it's just down the block." She said as they returned to the street and sea of people.

They kept on walking and it was a minute before they were in front of the fancy building. "Oh Mira speaks Spanish." She said answering Cai's question. "Let's go, she's probably giving the babysitter hell." She said with a roll of her eyes. Mira was always clingy.

The apartment itself was a soft white and the floors were oak with patches of light brown rug. There was a black leather sectional in the living room area with a big screen plasma T.V. on the wall so you could get a good view of it wherever you sat. "Welcome to my home Cai." Then she cleared her throat. "Mira I'm home!" She called out in Spanish.

The girl was probably in her room. "Make yourself comfortable Cai." Rosa took her shoes off and left them at the door. It had become a habit for her.

"Mira!" She called again as she walked into the kitchen and rummaged through the refrigerator. Rosa came out with a beer. "Want one Cai?" She asked though she figured the girl wouldn't want one. Better to offer than not to.

Aurore Miller - November 12, 2007 07:10 PM (GMT)
Cai's went exstatic at the sights in Rosa's home. The constrast of the furniture and walls and just about every wonderous little color she picked up. She took off her slippers and left them on the floor next to Rosa's. "No thank you." She replied to the offer of a beer. Cai drank but not beer. It smelled too foul for her liking.

When Rosa spoke in Spanish is gave Cai goosebumps. To hear her speak in her native language was comforting to Cai for a reason unknown to her. She waited for the arrival of little Mira with a smile. When she spotted the huge tv she didn't quite know what to think. She'd never really been a tv kind of person considering she'd only been able to see for a few weeks. She was curious to see why people were so attached to their teles.

PushMyButtons - November 12, 2007 07:32 PM (GMT)
Clingy... Yes.

After finding out her mother was in fact dead, Mirabelle had no one in this world. She was alone, or so she thought, until Rosa said she could stay with her.

Rosa was all the little girl had in the world now, and she was terrified to lose her. Crying and nearly screaming until Rosa promised she would come back, Mira never wanted her 'Auntie' to be out of sight. Or at least out of calling distance where she could know where Rosa was.

The babysitter had been helping her dress her for bed when Mira heard the door open, the moment she heard it she struggled to get free to run out to Rosa, but the babysitter held her n the room, fighting to get her clothing on properly.

There were a few screams and shouts back and forth in Spanish from the babysitter and Mira, but in the end the little girl ended up running down the hallway, her nightdress only over her head and one arm through.

"Auntie Rosa!! Why were you out so late? Didn't you want to play with me tonight? I missed you so much. Why couldn't I go with you, you know I really wanna go with you." She said quickly, clinging to Rosa's upper leg, not even realizing that there was someone else with her.

The babysitter came out with a sigh, running her hands through her hair. "I... I don't mean to sound rude or anything Ms. Vasquez... But Mira seems to really have some anxiety issues... She was crying and screaming for almost an hour after you left." The young woman said. "I don't know if it would help... but maybe you should take her to a psychologist or a counselor or something. Because without help, it's only going to get worse..."

The nineteen-year-old girl looked rather sheepish as she spoke, knowing that she shouldn't be telling someone what to do with their child, but Mira seemed to have a problem, and she only wanted to help. All of her psych classes told her that these problems never got better, only worse. "Especially if you want to start her in school soon."

Mira frowned as the girl spoke to Rosa, knowing that she was saying a lot, but not knowing what. She caught a few words... But she didn't know what was going on, what the girl was saying.

"I was a good girl Auntie Rosa. Really. I didn't do anything bad if that's what she's saying."

Aurore Miller - November 12, 2007 08:10 PM (GMT)
Cai stifled a giggle as little Mira came flying down the stairs with her clothing ascew. She watched silently as the scene played out in front of her but she wore a smile. Mira was a cute little girl and she now realized that there was definitely going to be some issues with attention should Rosa decide to keep Cai around as a pet.

She watched the babysitter come down and suggest a counselor to Rosa for little Mira and stopped smiling. "Obsession is in the eye of the beholder is it not?" She hadn't sounded rude or even cold but it did make an impact on the mortal. Cai could feel frustration bubbling up ever so slightly. Counseling was not always the solution to a child who had attachment issues. Mira was simply left alone in the world and Rosa was all the little girl had. Cai could fully understand her situation and the thought of some simpleton mortal trying to 'fix' the child made her fluster.

PushMyButtons - November 12, 2007 08:30 PM (GMT)
The babysitter turned her head as she heard the other voice, a girl about her own age, albino, her eyes red...

"True... But it's not good that she has the separation anxiety. If she's afraid to leave Ms. Vasquez' side, then other problems with begin. I'm not talking about weekly visits, but there are child psychologist who can help you find ways to work with her on it." She had turned back to Rosa, hoping the girls Aunt wasn't as objected to the idea.

Mira tugged at Rosa's shirt urgently. "What's she saying Auntie Rosa! Why won't she talk so I can understand too! What is she saying about me?" Why else would the girl be talking in English when she knew that Mira didn't.

"I'm only trying to help her as well. I feel horrible that there's nothing I can do or say that'll calm her down when she starts to get scared when you're not around. She just doesn't respond to me when I try to comfort her." She looked back to the albino girl. "If Mira can't learn to make other connections to people, she's only going to have problems later on."

Mira's eyes followed the babysitters and as they landed on the other girl, they went wide and fearful. She nearly screamed but muffled it with Rosa's thigh as she hid around the woman, putting Rosa between her and the other one. She'd never seen anyone like her before, and it terrified her. What was wrong with her?

"Auntie Rosa!! There's a ghost in the house!" She whimpered fearfully.

Cai didn't break eye contact with the babysitter but instead stood firmly in her place. "Psychologists know nothing of being alone and afraid. And if the young girl has a problem connecting with you then I'm sure your services are all but no longer required here. I'm going to be staying for a while and I'm sure I'm perfectly capable of helping Mira without the help of some know-it-all shrink."

She felt the pang of sadness as she heard Mira cry out something in spanish and point at her. Cai was sure that the girl had only just seen her and realized that she resembled something very close to a dead body. But not knowing spanish Cai was out of the loop of understanding.

She looked back to the babysitter. "I may not be able to understand spanish. But I'm a very quick learner and I'm sure I can care for Mira in the event that Rosa leaves the house for a while." Cai had said all that she could to the babysitter, whom she already considered a modern-day brain sucker, without screaming. Psychiatry was something that Cai hated more many other things and she didnt' like the thought of such things being forced on a child. Especially one who simply wanted to have those she knew to be around.

She stepped aside to clear the way to the door and used her ability that most vampires had to intimidate the girl - because as angry as Cai was she knew she probably wasn't that scary without that sense of danger that vampires could force onto mortals.

Rosa was paying attention to Mira as the babysitter and Cai spoke. It was easy for her to listen to the conversatino and listen to Mira. Kneeling down Rosa ran her hand through Mira's hair and kissed the top of her head. "I'm sorry baby, I was talking to a friend of mine." Then the babysitter spoke to her about finding a psychologist. Rosa listened, but she wasn't that interested in it.

"I'm sure you were a good girl Mira, but I can't always be here." She smiled at the little girl, and picked her up in her arms. Mira was a little heavy, but she managed. With Mira in one arm and the beer in the other Rosa took a sip of the beer and let it mix with the flavor of the blood that was still in her mouth.

To tell the truth Rosa wasn't interested in finding a psychologist. So she let Cai and the babysitter discuss about finding one.

Then Mira asked Rosa what the babysitter was saying. "She's just suggesting something Mira. You don't have to worry about it." She said with a sigh. Then she turned her attention to the babysitter. "Thank you very much. I'll think about going to a psychologist." She said staying diplomatic. "Here you go, thank you again for looking after Mira." She said handing the woman a hundred dollar bill.

"Sorry about Cai, she can have a very strong opinion." Then Rosa turned her attention to Mira again. She chuckled slightly and walked towards Cai. "She isn't a ghost Mira. She's Cai, she'll be staying with us for a little while. Please be nice to her."

Mira calmed a bit as Rosa picked her up, nuzzling into her shoulder with a smile.

The babysitter bit her lip slightly, looking at the albino. "I... I'm not a shrink. But... I've been here almost three weeks now, and we have connected, but when Ms. Vasquez leaves, she panics as if she'll never see her again. I'm not saying medication or anything like that, just someone who can help her let go of her fears." She said nervously, but she wasn't going to back down.

Looking back at Rosa she smiled almost pleadingly. "Please Ms. Vasquez, I only have Mira's best interest at heart. She's a darling little girl and I only worry that she'll have troubles when she starts school, making friends, doing well in class." She said as she moved to the door with the woman.

"Miss Tracy? Are you okay? You seem sad..." She murmured slightly, looking at her, sad as well.

"Yes sweetie. I'm fine. Just a little worried. You be a good girl okay? Be good for Aunti Rosa and I'll see you again soon."

"Okay. I'll be good. See you later!" She said with a grin, waving at the lady as she left. But as they moved back towards Cai she tensed up again. She didn't like the woman, she didn't like the way she had talked to Miss Tracy, or the way her eyes looked so mean.

"I... I don't like her... She looks scary and she was mean to Miss Tracy." She might not have understood the words, but she heard the tone.

Cai looked at the babysitter with a bored expression. This woman was one of those people who were lazy - in the definition of the word that meant she didn't want to solve things the way they ought to be but instead turned to doctors for help with children's issues.

Cai ignored the babysitter completely and turned her gaze to Mira. The little girl looked very unsettled, "Mira doesn't like me, does she?" She could sense the way the girl eyed her and spoke to Rosa. Already Mira didn't like Cai.

A light caught the side of Rosa's beer and Cai couldn't help but look as the blue label lit up for a brief moment. Her red eyes glistened like that of a small child looking at a new puppy. Even the slightest of light on color clash and Cai wouldn't miss it for anything.

She looked back to Rosa and caught simple words from her, 'ghost' being one of them. Cai's face flustered slightly and she felt like she wanted to cry. She knew it was silly to be upset about such things coming from a child but she couldn't help it. But she didn't cry - just simply got a new sadened look to her pale features.

Rosa looked at Mira as she said she didn't like Cai. "Miss Tracy and Cai were just talking. Miss Tracy's fine, she's just tired and needs some rest." Rosa turned her gaze to Cai and sighed. "Be nice to her Mira, she's going to be staying here for a little while, and I don't want you being mean to her." The vampiress knew that the child would probably behave while she was around.

"Mira's not comfortable with new people Cai." She said with a sad smile. "Don't worry she'll warm up to you." Rosa turned her attention back to Mira. "Cai's a friend of mine so please be nice to her." She said yet again.

"Lemme show you where you'll be staying Cai." She said with a smile. Rosa put Mira down and took her hand as she took Cai and Mira towards te guest bedroom.

"But... Miss Tracy didn't seen happy. The- She seemed to be mad at Miss Tracy..." She murmured softly. She had almost called Cai a ghost again, but stopped as the woman looked at her, making her shiver slightly. She wasn't being mean.... Not on purpose... But she was so strange. Mira had never seen a person like her before, and it was scary. Where Mira was well aware people had lighter skin than she, she'd never seen anyone who was so white... With silver hair, unless they were old....

And never with those eyes... Those eyes were so scary... She'd never seen someone with red eyes, like a monsters.

"Okay... But... But why does she look so scary? I've never seen someone like a ghost before... Why is she like that Auntie Rosa? She... She's not sleeping in my room is she?" She was honestly afraid.

But then again, Mira would more often than not sneak into Rosa's bed and sleep with her.

"Do I frighten her?" Cai asked Rosa as she noticed Mira looking at her shadily and the fact that the small girl's heart had picked up speed ever so slightly with that simple childhood fear of ghosts.

She subconsciously put her hands together in a light grip behind her and her face softened up to a point of pathetic beauty that children have and surely a look that someone her age shouldn't possess.

Rosa looked at Mira and nodded. "They had a little bit of an argument Mira. Miss Tracy'll be fine by morning." She said to try and convince the girl that Cai was alright. "Cai didn't mean to hurt Miss Tracy, but arguments usually end up like this." Rosa was glad that she jumped in. Otherwise she probably would've lost the one babysitter that Mira liked. It was hard finding babysitters.

"She's like that because she's an albino. Cai is so pale because she doesn't have some of the stuff that gives you and me color." Rosa said trying to comfort the girl. "She's going to be sleeping in your room, but you're going to be sleeping with me." She said with a soft sigh. "Just for tonight. I'll get the guest bedroom ready tomorrow."

Then Rosa turned her attention to Cai. "I'm sorry, but she's scared of you." She shook her head sadly. Cai looked much younger now that her face had softened. "She thinks you're a ghost. I'm trying to explain to her that you have albinism, but I don't think she'll understand." Rosa wanted Cai and Mira to get along.

Mira frowned as Rosa explained that they had been arguing. She didn't like the fact that Cai had upset Tracy and was very stubborn in that fact though she didn't say anything.

But she blinked slightly as Rosa explained the woman's problem. Albino? What was that? She'd never eve heard of it before... But if her skin didn't have color... "Why doesn't she go out into the sun and play? The sun will make her skin not like that. She won't look scary if she plays in the sun. The sun always made mama and me darker, so we needed to put sunblock on. But if she doesn't she'll get dark." The girl pointed out in an obvious like manner.

After all, it only made sense.

Mira was about to fuss as Rosa said that Cai would be sleeping in her room, but relented as she had been assured that she would be sleeping with Rosa

Mira squeezed Rosa's hand and moved closer to her.

"Oh, Auntie Rosa. Can you fix my night gown? I can't get my arm in the hole. I wanted to see you, I knew you were coming, but Miss Tracy tried to change me anyway."
