Name: Tanamoshii Keiyou. But he perfers Kei.
Gender: Male
Age: 16
Place of Birth: Kyoto, Japan
Species: Mortal.
Appearance: He has short mess of black hair that sometimes stings his eyes. His eyes are stormy grey like burnt ashes. And he’s short for his age and is quite thin. He has slightly tanned skin. He is often seen wearing a black scarf around his neck, and wearing baggy clothing.
History: Kei and his brother were both born in Kyoto, Japan. Their father worked overseas while their mother was dead. She died because of Tetanus, which she recieved while working at the vegetable garden, where she worked. Meanwhile, their oh-so lovely father secretly remarried and, embressed to admit the truth, refused to acknowledge Kei and his brother.
In Japan, the Government doesn't exactly care about orphans, and often the orphans were just left to the streets, to fend for themselves. Thus it fell upon Kei's brother, 16 at the time, to take care of them both. Quitting school, he began to work at a restraunt, where he often snuck out food for his younger brother. They lived with some of the other workers of the restraunt, thus spliting their bills. After two years of taking care of a six year old Kei, his brother mysteriously dissapeared.
Both upsetted and confused by the dissapearence, Kei is passed around different relatives, often staying for few months or sometimes a year. Most often, he was just ignored. But few times, he was forced to 'work'. When he became thirteen years old, he ran away from Japan, swearing to find his brother.
Kei traveled around, often hitchhiking or sneaking into planes by pretending to be a distressed child who lost his ticket. Few times, when he couldn't find food to eat, he would 'accidently' swipe a few snacks from the grocery store. However, he was finally caught a few days later by a sharp storeowner, who, after ten mintues of babbling, decided to take pity upon Kei and got him a job at the store.
Kei, while at the store, told people that he was looking for his brother. He described his brother of being, "a short-tempered man whose mind is rather sharp with a feeling about him that feels as if he knew about everything and anything."
After two years of working in the store, one of the workers claimed that they've met a babbler from a faraway town called Demaitre who claimed to have met a man the same descrpition as Kei's brother. Kei met the babbler, who described Kei as to where Demaitre is and where in Demaitre his 'brother' was sighted at.
It took him a year of working at the store to earn enough money to get transportion to Demaitre. When finally ready, he hopped on a train and came to Demaitre. Currently, he is looking for a job that'll help him accuire more information about his brother.
It’s a good start, but I’d like to see some more detail in the history.
These are just examples, but:
1. How did his mother die?
2. Why couldn’t Kei and his brother live with their father overseas?
3. How did Kei and his brother live on their own? I’m not pretending to know what the laws are like in Japan, but I doubt that Kei was of age to be considered a legal guardian. It would be more plausible for them to be living with a relative or family friend.
4. Why doesn’t their father do anything when his youngest son goes missing?
5. Where does Kei find the money to travel all over looking for his brother? I highly doubt that whatever job he has at thirteen years of age would be able to fund such exertions.
6. Where was he when someone said they had seen his brother? Who was that someone, and what was interesting enough about Kei’s brother that that person remembered the face of that specific stranger?
Try answering the above questions, and adding in whatever other details might occur to you. Send me a PM when you’re finished, and I’ll look things over again.
