Yep, just a quick one two-line question. If a vampire has the power of command, does it work over the phone? (Or Skype or TV or the radio, etc?)
I'm not the expert here, and I might be completely wrong on this (correct me if I am, Kira).
I believe that command would still work, but that it wouldn't be quite as potent as if the two parties were face to face.
Example: Vampire tells a person in front of them to jump off a bridge. They do it.
Example 2: Vampire tells person on the phone to jump off a bridge. Said person wants to jump off the bridge. Might go to the edge, might even do it (depending on the vampire) but might have some doubts about it.
Again, someone correct me if I'm wrong.
Sorry if this isn't my place but I just wanted to add in a few side notes. =[
Generally in situations where command would take affect itself as a skill would be based off an imtimidation of it's user. Or the superiority factor of the vampire.
Command itself can usually if in person only be resisted by strong wills depending on how strong it'd have to be depends on the power/intimidation levels of the one doing the commanding. Also concentration does come into play as well. I.E. A weak will falls to a weak command but the noise of the crowd makes it difficult for the one under the spell to understand any commands, his mind would be crowded with noise since the one using command wouldn't be strong enough. It'd fail. Badly.
However there are new ideas every day, a command over the phone. I personally think it'd be lame though just for the fact you could be dumb and like put a command as your anwsering machine or something along those lines.
*ring, ring* Hello? "Kill yourself" O_O ......mmm'yessss-ss..*stab*
<_< I really think to a high degree it wouldn't work unless the vampire figure themselves did it at some sort of close distance and not on a phone. It's kind of a personal interphase type spell. Because for the most part the imtimidation based skill loses it's imtimidation/superiority factor by it being used over the phone. That is it shouldn't generally work unless soeone like God, or an elite vampire tries it. Yet, if that's the case why the hell would they use a phone? XD
[God on a Phone] *riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinng* *Rrrrriiiiiiinnnnnnnnggggggg*
Guy: Hello?
God: OH! F*ck yeah! You picked up you gullible son o' bitch! Yeah, now you're under my command.
Guy: o___o *drool*
But in very stretched theory I suppose you could say the skill only goes by My Vamp > Your Vamp/Mortal to make it work. D=
Sorry if it wasn't my place. >_>;;; Just some old D&D/Rp History pullin up.
<.<; If you want, completely ignore this post.
