Title: Stormy Night.

Cristobel Bonaduce - May 7, 2007 02:29 AM (GMT)
She stood in the elevator watching as the numbers slowly counted down to the ground floor. The low buzz of a cell phone broke the silence that existed between her and the four men that surrounded her. She reached into the pocket of her white Armani pants suit. The display screen lit up blue and the name ‘Jack’ appeared. She flipped the phone opened, “Hello,” she said softly as the man’s voice began ranting on the other end.

Where the hell are you? I’ve been calling you for three hours!

Her eyes furtively looked at the people around her, trying to determine if they could hear him. Jack’s voice was so loud in her ears that she was they could hear every word he said to her, but they couldn’t or at least they didn’t seem to. “I was in a meeting,” she said softly her head lowered slightly. A meeting? What meeting? You didn’t have any meetings today. Jack was in Hollywood starting proceedings on a new film, he’d left two days before and had called her every hour on the hour ever since except for the few hours he took to sleep. “Yes I did,” she protested softly. No you didn’t. I checked your schedule.

She paused. He did what? “You checked my schedule?” she questioned as the elevator came to halt on the ground floor. The men allowed her to exit first, which she gladly accepted. Her white heels clicked against the marble floor as she walked towards the entrance. Thunder clapped overhead and the rain poured down outside. When did that start?

Tanis? Tanis! Jack’s voice broke into her mind. “I’m sorry. You checked my schedule? Why would you do that?” she asked in shock. Because I wanted to know what you’d be up to while I was gone, he admitted. She shook her head trying to get that thought out of her mind. “Jack…” she said taking a long slow breath. “You remember the Campbell deal right?” she asked slowly, the last thing she wanted was to pick a fight. Yes of course I do. “Well I had to negotiate the contracts today. I’m at the Winter Building as we speak.”

He continued his argument that she should have answered the phone, that he’d been worried and then added the touch of how much he cared about her. I love you Tanis. Call me when you get in. “I love you too Jack,” she said with a half-hearted smile and then hung up.

She peered out the large glass doors, the guard sat at his desk quietly watching his monitors. It was pouring outside and there was some way to the street. She’d called Ron, her father’s driver to pick her up the minute the meeting had ended. She was starving and just wanted to get some food and go home to her bed. She stood watching the rain fall outside, a soft smile on her face as she slowly walked towards the doors watching the rain streak across the clear glass. She liked storms.

Her phone rang again. It was Ron this time, he said he’d be a while; he had to drop her father home and then get back through traffic, which was worse with the storm, back to her. He’d be at least an hour. She looked at her watch, it was after eight and the Winter Building was for the most part deserted, but there was the guard she’d be fine.

Wilhelm sat quietly on a bench across the street from the winter building. The gel from his hair quickly coming of in the downpour. He sighed quietly to himself and got up. His blue Jeans and white wife beater where soaked and his shoes where ruined. He got a few glances from other people walking along the street probably because it was only forty five degrees outside and it was raining, but of course Wilhelm was a vampire and he could careless. He muttered to himself about how today was his day off from killing and it just has to rain on my parade.

He walked across the street and peered into the Winter building. Only seeing a mortal woman and some guard that looked like he'd rather eat some doughnuts than stop anyone from entering the building. However, Wilhelm liked the rain so he just leaned against the glass and let the rain pour down on him. In his pocket he felt a vibration from his phone. He picked up the phone to a very drunk sounding voice "Wilhelm we fucked this John guy up! We came in guns blazing and just killed him and his crew." All Wilhelm did was roll his eyes and hang u the phone.

Finally, deciding not to attract too much attention to him, this was already hard enough being 6’2” and all but what ever. Wilhelm entered the Winter building to the instant protest of the guard. "Hey what do you want?" Wilhelm just smiled "it’s raining out side and its cold I'm getting a ride to pick me up just let me say in the lobby." Even before getting the guard's response Wilhelm sat down and stared at the rain and the mortal woman. "Not to bad" he muttered to himself before returning his stare to out side

P.S. Hey sry its kinda short I haven't rp'd for a while

Tanis sat quietly, her legs casually crossed at the knee as her brown eyes watched the storm outside. Her hands rested casually in her lap, her briefcase at her side on the couch forgotten. Her face was pensive, as the lights flicked across the soft line of her face and through her neatly pinned up hair. She was so neat, so elegant, so professional in her appearance that it almost belied her age and situation.

Tanis was twenty-seven years old, an entrainment lawyer and engaged to a very wealthy movie mogul named Jackson Hilton, as the large three carat diamond on her left hand indicated. Most women her age were enjoying the freedom of single life, but Tanis never really had that, she studied, worked and then got engaged, all the while living under the watchful eye of her father. She couldn’t complain, she wasn’t the ungrateful type. She had been given so much, afforded so many opportunities, to complain about her life or her fiancé seemed to be stupid. No she was not a ‘poor little rich girl’ and she didn’t want anyone to think she was either.

She watched the rain dancing across the glass in its merry little pattern, when suddenly a rather tall figure approached. She looked at him curiously. He was soaking wet, hadn’t he enough sense to get out of the rain? Then again, that was the type of thing Tanis used to like to do, walking through the rain and letting it wash away all of her thoughts and stress, she just didn’t have the time for that now.

To her surprise and to that of the guard, the tall male decided to enter the building. She watched the scene unfold from a distance, wondering what on earth he was doing. His appearance told her that he wasn’t supposed to be there, even if the time didn’t. However, it was raining and he really shouldn’t be in such weather it wasn’t good for your health, though it was fun. The man made his argument to the guard who didn’t have much choice but did issue a small warning. “Give me any trouble and you’re out on your ass.”

By the time the warning was issued Tanis was already looking elsewhere not wanting to seem as though she was prying. However, her attention once again returned to the male as he took a seat nearby and made some comment. She looked at him puzzled…was he talking to her? He couldn’t be. Her eyes returned to watching the storm.

He sat there drying for a few minutes, just enjoying the rain and the calming sound of rain on glass. The thought of his next target slowly slipping into his mind, but he could take Victor Toro out at any time we wanted and plus the woman next to him seemed like she could be nice to talk to, which was unusually nice of Wilhelm to think of talking to strangers not just killing them. Killing was one of his favorite things; he thought about the Desert Eagle in a holster on his left ankle and was reassured about his lethality.

His phone began to ring and the screen said 'HQ Demaitre’ he picked the call. "William Victor Toro is planning to leave the city tomorrow you must take him out tonight." Wilhelm rolled his eyes Victor must have gotten wind that Wilhelm was after him, they always run.” Understood headquarters ill inform Ethan, schedule the operation for twelve thirty." Wilhelm called Ethan. "Ethan its William bring the H2 to the targets location ill suit up there." He promptly hung up and got up and walked over to the woman who looked like she could run the place and sat down next to her. "What would keep you here so late?" He asked Tanis, he didn't expect a response but you never knew some people where just nice.

Cristobel Bonaduce - May 7, 2007 06:17 AM (GMT)
There was no sign of it holding up as the rain beat its angry fists against Demaitre’s streets. All she could think of was home and her bed and how wonderful her cool sheets would feel as she slipped beneath them and was lulled off into sleep the by storm. Some people couldn’t sleep during a storm, they paced and tossed and turned till it was over before they could close their eyes and slumber, but Tanis had no such qualms. Storms were the equivalent to a lullaby to her, they sent her drifting off into dreamland without a second thought and she wouldn’t wake till morning. She could recall Jack asking her about some thunder storm they’d had during the night and how it had woken him and Tanis had just smiled and asked. What storm?

Jack.

Her fingers played at the ring on her hand; it was platinum, a solitaire, three carats in weight and sparkled like there was light coming from within it at all times. It wasn’t cheap, far from it; Jackson Hilton did not do cheap. He was a man who prided himself on appearance and how would it look if his fiancée was walking around with some paltry rock on her hand? It couldn’t happen.

The ring spun around her finger as she thought about Jack. He had checked her schedule. He had actually gone to the trouble of checking her schedule to see what she would be doing for the week he was going to be gone? This disturbed her a great deal. She wondered how far he had gone into checking up on her. Had he just gone through her appointment book or had he been in her palm pilot, or worse yet called Margaret her secretary and checked? Was there nothing that Jack wouldn’t do in order to make sure she was staying in line?

Tanis barely heard the ring of a cell phone but knew it wasn’t hers; the ring was all wrong and besides, her phone was on vibrate for the time being. She went back to her thoughts.

It was bad enough that Jack called her so much, it made her feel stupid or childish to have him do it, but telling him not to wasn’t an option. Jack did what he wanted all the time, and that meant everything from telling her what to wear, where to go, who to know and giving her the odd smack when she forgot. Yes, Jack wasn’t the nicest guy she’d ever meet, but he was her fiancé and she’d made him a promise. She couldn’t back away, there was so much more at stake than just giving back a ring.

What would keep you here so late?

Her mind was lost in her thoughts when the voice infiltrated with its question. She looked over and there he sat, the strange man from the storm. She looked at him with a still expression. “I’m waiting for a ride home,” she said politely. “And you?” she asked with the same politeness. She saw the guard rise from his desk ready to come over and tote the man away from bothering. “You okay there Miss Winter?” he asked. She smiled, “I’m perfectly fine Ralph,” she replied. “Aren’t I?” she questioned the man. It was a nice way of saying not to try any crap with her.

Wilhelm didn't like threats, not at all, most people who threatened him ended up in pools of their own blood. His hand even twitched towards his Desert Eagle, but good judgment told him not to draw his weapon .The guard might be expendable, but this woman was not. "No there's no problem." Wilhelm even allowed himself to smile slightly 'because if there was you'd both be dead' he thought to himself.

Later today Wilhelm was going to come back and have fun killing the guard. 'Just rip him apart or use him as target practice?' He pondered in his own mind, he did love the feeling of blood running down his hands and all over him. All warm with its enchanting smell. Wilhelm felt a small pain in his mouth and realized that in his revere about blood he slightly bit the side of his cheek.

Wilhelm turned his attention to the woman "I am just trying to make conversation by the way I am William. You must be Tanis Winters the owner of his building." Wilhelm realized he had to play nice his Ms. Winters might hold some power with the people that Wilhelm does business with.

Cristobel Bonaduce - May 8, 2007 12:58 AM (GMT)
She watched him carefully, not completely trusting him. But could you blame her? He didn’t belong there, he was drenched and looked shabby and was almost intimidating in height, and even compared to the guard he was tall. However Tanis didn’t show her concern, she kept her cool; that was part of her job to always remain cool under pressure. She was very good at her job; to bad she didn’t have that same cool in her personal life.

She smiled, “Good,” she replied as he confirmed that there was no problem. He got he point then, which was very good the last thing she wanted was a big scene there it wouldn’t have looked good on the company or her father and worse, Jackson.

She sat back in her seat, comfortable, poised and relaxed in appearance as he spoke to her. She exuded confidence, but it was front one she put on whenever she was put on the spot. She smirked, “I am Tanis Winter,” she confirmed, “but I don’t own this building,” she corrected him. Yes the founder of the building had been a relation, distant cousin or something like that but that didn’t mean she owned the place. It was owned by another entity entirely but several businesses that she and her father were associated with held offices there. She spent quite a bit of time in the Winter Building when she wasn’t at her own office.

She didn’t think she was that popular, but then again her face had been splattered all over the society pages since her engagement to Jackson. She had appeared once or twice before, when her father opened his company in Demaitre and then when she joined the company and again when she negotiated a huge deal, but none so much as when she was going to become Mrs. Hilton.

“William,” she said with a slight nod of her head, her hands staying in her lap. She glanced at the rain then back to him. “So…how can I help you?” she asked casually.

alucard - May 9, 2007 12:59 AM (GMT)
A she spoke Wilhelm maintained his slouched posture in order to not seem treating to her, an odd thing for him to do. However, even though he was slouching he managed to give off a sense of self confidence and egotism, because if there was anything Wilhelm was full of it was him self. Once Tanis was done speaking he returned his gaze to the outside world and wondered 'what am I doing here?' It was a few seconds before he replied "oh it’s not your building? That is too bad because it is a nice building, even though I have only seen the lobby." He tried to not have any sarcasm in his manor. Yes, the building is nice, but does he care? Nope.

"What could she do for me hmm' he pondered. Wilhelm brought his blue eyes back to Tanis "Well I am new in town and I was wondering if you could use my services." As he spoke he reached into his back pocket and pulled out a worn looking leather wallet. Out of it he produced a perfectly dry business card. On the business cards was Wilhelm Eisenburg C.E.O. Hellsing Industries and had his cell and work numbers on it. "Here my card" he reached out to hand it to her.

Wilhelm was fairly sure she wouldn't take it, but if she did; and accepted his services her life could be different much different. She could have him and his mercenaries and assassins protect her, spy for her, and even kill for her. Wilhelm and his little card could give her power that people in high places, most of the time, love to have.
