(((OOC: Please excuse any misspellings involving a missing "D", i am having keyboard trouble. <_< )))

Vincent was lying on his back on one of the broader branches of a large Rowen tree in the wilder reaches of the park.
He quite often came here to think, and to be alone.
For the first time in several decades his past was lying quiet. Nathaniel had recently left Dematre to find himself. He was still as mad as ever, but at least now he was no longer thirsting after Vincent's blood. And his recent trip to Austria ha sorted out his affairs there, thankfully.

No, now was a time for rest, relaxation, and recovery. He had his quintessential pipe between his teeth, and his eyes were closed. He was almost asleep when he heard movement below him.

Opening is eyes a fraction, he looked down, to see who it was who was making the noise. He saw a pair of humans, late in adolescence, about 18, he guessed, from the smell of hormones. They were engaging in some heavy swapping of saliva.
As he watched them, he thought of Nicolaos, and her recent absence. The thought stng him a bit, but he pushed it away. The thought of what to do with the situation below him was rather more pressing.

It was well within his ability to ignore the noise. However, dead or not, he was still a man, and that part of him was a great deal less disciplined than the rest of him was.
Which meant either move off, or alert them to his presence. He didn't think much of either option, but he would have to o something, before the animal in him started gaining control of his faculties.

Chi was walking in the park, enjoying the cool breeze which was a lot warmer in the past few days. Summer was finally coming around and the thought depressed her as much as it excited her. It would be warm and would remind her of home, yet the nights would be shorter, a lot shorter. Less time outside. She really should find a place where she could spend more time outside. It truly was depressing.

She shook herself out and her silver hair flew everywhere she shook her head. Before placing itself smoothly back. She reached back and fiddled with her hair a little, before it was placed in a long braid that she was busy working on. She released her hair and it held the braid in place. There were days where she loved her telekinesis.

She paused in her steps, head tilted to one side as she listened to the sounds that surrounded her. She slowly turned towards the sound, recognizing the sound for what it was, though it didn't matter to her. It was always fun to tease mortals, though some vampires that thought because of her age it was suppose to be beyond her. It wasn't her fault that she was stuck in the body of a sixteen year old. You couldn't ignore the fun when it was screaming at her.

She spied on them a moment and her eyes traveled upwards to the man sitting in the tree above them. Mortals were clueless, but that was probably what made them so much fun. The mortals didn't linger much longer, seemingly wanting to continue their lovefest elsewhere and Chi ignored them as they left. Her eyes were on the man sitting in the tree.

Vincent has smelled the arrival of the Vampiress, her scent was strong, stronger than the stink of humanity that was filling the air.
He was quite glad when the mortals moved away, checking the latch on his beast-in-a-cage, he focused his attention on the vsmpiress before him.
Hers was the scent of time. All vampired acquired it after enough time, the lingering smell of eons, or innumerable years, leaving comet-like dust trails as they flew by.

From her smell Vincent could tell she was older than he by a more than a millennium, though she looked about half his age.
He inhaled the heady smoke of his pipe for a minute, wondering how to approach this ancient one.
After a moments deliberation, he swing his legs over the side of the branch and sailed down through the air to land at the base of the trunk.
During his fall, his eyes had not left her face.
"Goo even'." he said to her, in a tone, he hoped would convince her he was no blood-mad young blood. The old and the new are seldom compatible.
"A nice spring evening for a walk, don't yo think." he asked, after taking another puff of his pipe.

It was a strange thing, that pipe. Vincent had had it for years, and it showed. It's long pine neck was worn and faded with use and time, and it's bell was chipped an ash stained. The scent of cannabis coming from it was not too strong, but it was strong enough to be noticeable. Well, it wasn't as though it would kill him, now was it?

Chi's eyes never missed anything, or perhaps it was more her mind that never missed anything. Either way she missed nothing, unless it was completely irrelevant to her. It had to have some sort of sense for her to grasp it. Usually things from this modern time, flew by her and she disregarded it, until someone brought her attention to it.

She never drew her gaze from her and stood up. Even though she was small, she had the stance of dignity, a woman with power and she knew it too. It could make her sure of herself, yet it also made her formidable foe. She knew what powers she had and how to use it. She had done evil before and remembered the vampire she had killed. No one controls their fledgling, that was simply wrong.

She frowned her eyes looking at him and then she nodded. "I remember you." She tried to remember where, but that proved too difficult for her fleeting mind and she then shrugged as to dismiss her previous comment. "Yes it is a beautiful night, makes me think of home and France."

Vincent raised an eyebrow. Was she familiar?
He inhaled deeply, trying to place her scent... Yes.
Yes, that was her, the young ancient....

"You are Chi." he said, at length, "You are a friend of Nikki."
He puffed on his pipe.

Vincent glanced around at the night, it truly was a fine, the stars were gleaming quietly. The pale moon was illuminating the dark grass of the park. It seemed as though nature was holing her breath for something... Spring?
Vincent nodded, "Most tranquil." he said, then after a pause, "Where is your home?"

Chi nodded, remembering. It was the day that she completely destroyed Nikki's sire. The destruction was still high in her mind, yet she shrugged it off, that man should never had been a vampire and especially never someone's sire.

"Yes, you were there." Her voice had a dreamy quality, lost in her thoughts. Remembering the night, remembering the destruction she had caused in her youth, everything was linked somehow.

She closed her eyes and inhaled letting the sweet smell of nature surround her. It was a comforting scent, one that she would not forget and couldn't forget. She opened her eyes, letting her eyes see the nature set before her. She murmured quietly to herself a prayer to the Earth Mother, her personal Goddess that everyone had forgotten. "China, or what is China now, in my times there were no nations and barely any cities, if none at all." That was home.

"China... Now that was a place." Vincent said, his own memories sparking into life, "The last time I was in the middle kingdom was... Ooh, twelfth century. Lot of Mongolians. When did you last visit?" Vincent asked, still thinking back to Kaifeng and Anyang.

Chi paused, thinking that last time she had been there. "Long before I had reached my first millenia, long before the emperors of China even came to existence." It was true, in her time, they had worshiped a goddess and the temple had ruled the land, though it had no distinct barriers.

"Did you like it, when you went?"
