Title: It's never too late to have fun...
Description: For Helen
Pandora Lorrain - January 18, 2007 05:10 AM (GMT)
Catherine was ready to have the time of her life. Not only was she ready to have the time of her life, but also ready to fool around. Not to the extent of some girls, but still have fun. Especially that she wasn't alone, granted her a bit of time to spend some time with girls.
Catherine looked at the line and blinked. That was a long line, but it was good that she was a regular, she got in easy and that would make everything easy for them. She pointed to the entrance. "Come I have easy access, I'll talk to the bouncer. I know him well." She smiled and sashayed her way to the entrance.
Helen Gustare - January 18, 2007 11:01 PM (GMT)
Helen's eyes widened as she stared at the long line of people. She nervously ran her hand through her long black hair, trying to calm herself. She followed Catherine and listened to the soft click of her shoes, which she couldn't get over. It was a nice sound, on the contrary of the scruffing of her combat boots. She felt like such a lady, like she had so many years ago.
Watching Catherine, and her attitude for this place, she figured she knew what she was doing. Helen however, was totally lost. There were people here mortal, and immortal alike, dressed in so many different ways, Helen's eyes darted from each individual, studying them.
Helen kept her head down, and rarely met anyone's gaze. Her long hair helped cover her brilliant eyes, and soft, nervous face. She didn't know what to expect from this outing, but was determined to stay strong, and have a good time.
Pandora Lorrain - January 18, 2007 11:26 PM (GMT)
Catherine grabbed Helen's hand and tugged her over to the front door. "Don't hide your face, people will think that you are vulnerable and take advantage of it. We don't want that. We want them to know that we are two beautiful woman, aware of our beauty and it's our way or the high way." Catherine had always been aware of who she was and where she was going. She was a woman that could look proud and respectful, while doing the most mundane things. It was something she did to keep herself busy.
Catherine smiled at the bouncer who opened the door for them immediately. She nodded her thanks to him and continued to drag Helen in. "Now there are two things to do. Drinking and dancing, it doesn't matter which you pick, as long as you have fun doing it."
Helen Gustare - January 18, 2007 11:33 PM (GMT)
Helen couldn't help but have her face plastered with her sarcastic smirk, as she was dragged into the bar. She glanced around the fogged room, and squinted. "Err..." She muttered, not really sure what to do with herself. She only knew how to ballroom dance, and there was no young gentleman awaiting to take her hand and dance with her.
She twisted her toes in her heels, and looked up, not hiding her face, but still looking as nervous as ever. She let out a exasperated laugh, and held up her hands, showing her 'fish out of water' feeling. Her hair slid with her shouders, as her arms moved, and her eyes continued to scan the area, but keeping in tune with the example Catherine was trying to show.
Pandora Lorrain - January 18, 2007 11:41 PM (GMT)
Helen was being clueless. Catherine released her and beckoned her to follow her to the bar. "Relax, no one here bites unless you want them to." Catherine settled herself on a stool and relaxed to place an order. The next thing that she knew was that there were two free drinks placed in front of her. She gave a quizzical look to the barman and he pointed down the bar to two men who waved to her. "I believe that we have admirers."
Catherine nodded her thanks to them before putting one drink in front of Helen. "Drink up and don't worry about how much you drink, I'll make sure that you get home safe." Catherine took her drink and sipped at it, her body posture relaxed and content like a cat, that was dozing in the sun. That was the way she felt.
Helen Gustare - January 18, 2007 11:50 PM (GMT)
Helen sat on a stool next to Catherine at the bar, and smirked at the drink. She looked down, and noticed the two men waving. She flashed a polite nod, in thanks, and took a drink herself.
As the cool alcohol slipped down her throat, Helen started to relax. Drinks did that for her. It didn't have to be much, and she didn't have to be drunk, but drinking something calmed her down.
She glanced again at the men sitting a few ways down from her. She thought it peculiar that she hadn't made more than ten steps into the club, and she was already getting free drinks. Which she figured was a sign of admiration, and interest.
Helen looked to Catherine, and listened to the small hum of the bassline of the music thupping around them, and watched the dancers flailing around. Which she assumed was how one was supposed to 'dance'.
Pandora Lorrain - January 19, 2007 12:00 AM (GMT)
Catherine was at ease with herself and turned to look at the dancers. She wanted to roll her eyes. They called that dancing, then they were all dorks. Would she honestly have to get off her chair and show them how to dance? She gave a sigh. It would seem that she would have to, but first she would enjoy her drink, her free drink. A small smile painted on her face.
It was amazing what a woman with a little bit of beauty could accomplish in a club. Getting in for free was simply because she had been here before, but the free drinks were also a given, but she hadn't thought that she would get them so fast. Well that was always something new in the clubs.
Helen Gustare - January 19, 2007 10:50 PM (GMT)
The atmosphere was something Helen had ever experienced before. Definately not something she would have found at her grandmother's parties, or get togethers. Her expression was stoic, and she continued to sip at her free drink. She glanced down at the men, curious of them. She wondered if they were going to speak with them. Honestly, Helen secretly hoped they wouldn't. She didn't know if she was ready for that.
As she finished her drink, Helen stood from the barstool, and smirked, watching the dancers. After all anxieties being freed from her drink, she walked slowly onto the dancefloor. Every noise her outfit would have made, was muffled by the noise of both music and dancers.
She watched each person as she passed them, trying to get a feel for how to dance. She put her arms up, shook her hips, and was in the middle of the floor, surrounded by hundreds of unknown faces.
Pandora Lorrain - January 20, 2007 05:02 AM (GMT)
Catherine watched silently as the Helen got up to dance. She got the rhythm of the music it was going to be a good night and she was definitely showing them how to dance.
Catherine downed the rest of her drink in one gulp and cracked her neck on both sides. Now it was her turn to join the fray. She would show these mortals how to truly dance, it was a disgrace that they couldn't even do a good job. She stood up, something about her drew gazes. It was either the hair or the way she was dressed, she never had truly found out.
She walked out to the floor, her movements graceful as a cat and with a sensual undertone. Everything about her, oozed woman that was in her element. As she got the idea for the beat she danced. There was something about the way she danced that showed that she knew exactly what she was doing. Her hips swayed and her arms moved, following the rhythm. This was what she had been born to do.
Helen Gustare - January 20, 2007 05:11 AM (GMT)
Helen let loose, and danced what it seemed like a century. Each song came and passed, and Helen moved gracefully to each beat, slow and fast, watching all the individuals around her. Occassionally a stranger would join in with her movements, and she would allow them.
A smirk plastered her face, and her brilliant blue eyes shown, as she felt she was having the time of her life. It was the most fun she'd had in a long time. All her worries went away, and she was dancing with complete strangers, save Catherine who was dancing near her.
Helen waved to Catherine, and raised her eyebrows in acknowledgement. She grooved over to where she was dancing, and danced along side her. Almost in unison the crowd swayed and jived, like it was all choreagraphed.
Pandora Lorrain - January 20, 2007 05:26 AM (GMT)
Catherine danced on and on. During a somewhat slower song, some men would come behind her and start dancing with her. She would allow them, after all, she was the one that made the decisions. If she didn't feel like dancing with someone that she would push them away, but tonight was a night for fun and a night for dancing. There was no harm to dancing with others.
One man had been quite bold and had been whispering things in her ears about a bed with both of them alone and perhaps a little fun. If Catherine hadn't been a vampire, she would have slapped him on the face, but in her case all she saw was a meal. She winked at Helen then left with the man.
She returned a few minutes later. Her skin seemed more colourful and she looked more human and she had that mortal sparkle in her eye. She smiled at Helen, hiding her fangs. That meal had been good. The man was still alived, but she had made sure that he had loved every single bit of what she had done. It wasn't much though.
Helen Gustare - January 20, 2007 05:41 AM (GMT)
Helen shook her head, with a wider smirk, as she realized what Catherine was up to. She continued on with the song, as a slower one came on, couples started joining.
A young man, about twenty, approached Helen, obviously nervous. He looked up at her, and a foolish grin plastered on his face as he held out his hand, without saying anything. Helen grinned, and took his hand shyly. His hands were placed on her hips, while hers on his shoulders, and they danced slowly, with the occasional spin.
As Catherine returned, Helen leaned from the young man slightly, and returned Catherine's previous wink. She leaned back into the man, and rested her head on his shoulders.
Though, as the song ended, and returned to faster paced music, the young man continued to dance with Helen. She just figured it would have been a simple dance, but he kept at his pursue of her. She found it amusing, and cute, and didn't push him away.
Pandora Lorrain - January 20, 2007 01:48 PM (GMT)
Catherine knew that Helen was having a good time, besides she was dancing with a guy. How could one not have a good time, when one was dancing? Catherine was once again dancing alone, but it didn't take very long for another man to join her. This man also whispered things in her ear, but it seemed somewhat tamer.
She listened attentively and shrugged. She wasn't going to do anything. She didn't want to jeopardize her relationship with Julian. So to this man's suggestion, she shook her head. She could drink from him too, but she had had her fill. The man didn't try to convince her and continued dancing with her. So he hadn't gotten what he wanted, what did it matter, she hadn't pushed him away and he got to dance with her body against his.
Some mortals were total idiots. Then again they could also offer endless hours of amsement as was the case right now. Mortals were completely clueless.
Helen Gustare - January 21, 2007 03:08 AM (GMT)
As several other songs ended, the mortal man Helen had found herself dancing with grew tired, and led her over to the bar, buying her a nice margarita. She sipped it thankfully, and they chatted for awhile.
Every once in awhile Helen would glance over to where Catherine was dancing, to make sure she was still there, and hadn't adandoned her. Helen returned her attention over to the mortal, however most of what he said went through one ear and out the other. Her mind wandered and she failed to pay attention to the surroundings. The music faded into a small hum in her ears, and the words of the man seemed to run together, and she stared into space.
Pandora Lorrain - January 21, 2007 03:23 AM (GMT)
Catherine continued to dance and every guy she danced with blended into eachother. Some were better and those she kept a close eye on. She would want to remember who they were for future references. She continued to dance, she never grew tired, this was her kind of music and her kind of life.
She would occasionnally glance in Helen's direction to make sure that she was fine. She seemed ok and she was talking with a guy that she had danced with. Slowly but surely, she could see that Helen was loosing interest in the discussion. She allowed herself to finish her dance and then gently pulled away from the guy she was dancing with and walked towards Helen.
Catherine leaned behind Helen and chuckled. She had entirely spaced out. A drink came Catherine's way immediately and she gave a smile to the man that had paid for it. She then turned to Helen. "Having fun, my dear?"
Helen Gustare - January 21, 2007 03:47 AM (GMT)
Helen blinked, and leaned back, with a solid expression. She let out of 'hmph,' and turned her body towards Catherine, but still including the young man whom she'd met.
"We were just talking Catherine, I'm fine." She raised an eyebrow, as the young man refilled her glass. She picked it up, and sipped it slowly. She turned her attention towards the man Catherine had picked up, and gave him an acknowledging nod. "How are you doing?"
Pandora Lorrain - January 21, 2007 03:54 AM (GMT)
Catherine smiled. "I'm simply doing fine and dandy. I decided to take a break from all the dancing. It can be tireing." Tireing for mortals. Catherine could dance all night without a break. The only problem was that it would look suspicious if she did dance all night. It would be very suspicious.
Catherine smiled at the man she had picked up and clinked her glass with his. Some men were such sweethearts, others were total jackasses. The guy that had danced with her was somewhere in between. Julian, on the other hand, was a charming gentlemen, that knew exactly what she liked and when she needed it.
She took a sip of her drink. It was interesting that she could play so many mortal men and they would all try to get her attention, but only one had her interest and he wasn't here. There were nights such as these, she took another sip of her drink.
Helen Gustare - January 21, 2007 05:08 AM (GMT)
Helen was growing bored with the clubbing situation. Sure, it was entertaining, but to a certain extent. She rose, nodded, at the three different people surrounding her: Catherine, her man, and Helen's. She returned to the dance floor, and joined in with the swaying of the group.
A small twitch of her mouth formed a almost unidentifiable smile. She was enjoying herself, and was in her own way, glad to have rid herself of the man whom she had danced with. She wasn't exactly into falling for men who planned on buying her drinks until she was dead drunk.
Pandora Lorrain - January 21, 2007 05:29 AM (GMT)
Catherine could see that Helen was getting bored with the conversation. She seemed to prefer the dancing part of the club, besides getting drunk when other guys bought you drinks wasn't very much fun. It was good the Catherine had a fast metabolism, it meant that she could drink a lot without getting to drunk.
Catherine excused herself from the two men and joined Helen on the floor. She danced around the club allowing men to catch a glance of her before moving on. It wasn't like she did it on purpose. She was completely oblivious to what she did, but she was simply dancing and enjoying herself. She simply did what she loved to do.
Helen Gustare - January 23, 2007 02:04 AM (GMT)
A faster paced song started up, and Helen was sure to move with it. She swayed her hips, and swung her arms in the air, smirking. She could faintly hear the muffled clicking of her heels, and watched the swishing of her skirt as she moved on the dance floor. Her hair, black and shining, was tossed around her shoulders, and moved with her body.
She glanced at Catherine, who seemed to enjoy herself, and the attention she was getting from nearby on-lookers. Helen almost laughed, as she noticed the different men eyeing her. Then, a flash of blood ran through Helen's mind. She stopped short, gasped, grapping her forehead.
A short flash back of her parents' murder washing through her mind like a movie. Her face became distorted with pain, as she reached for face, trying to make it go away, crimson tears swelling in her blue eyes. This usually only happened in her coma state of sleep. It had never happened during her consciousness.
Helen ran from the dancefloor, and ran into a heavy door labeled "Women," and locked the door. A splintering headache throbbed, and she sat on the toilet, rocking back and forth, the crimson tears now dripping down her cheeks. Her hair hung gently over her face, as she held it, and hoped that sooner or later the flashbacks would go away.
Her mother's scream.
Her father's cry to defend his family.
Blood splattered the floor.
Helen didn't undestand why she was getting these now, in her consciousness. It was fine while she was sleeping, when she got them, for they were just in sleep, and went away by the time she woke up. The confusion, the pain, it was all swirrling around her, she was thankful however, that she had found the bathroom.
Pandora Lorrain - January 23, 2007 04:38 AM (GMT)
Catherine felt something with her out of control telepathy. She hadn't quite mastered it yet and she stopped dead in her tracks, nose in the air, trying to smell out a scent. Blood, there was blood and it wasn't mortal. Her eyes scanned the area, she then frowned where was Helen? She had been on the floor two seconds earlier.
She could see a black skirt with blue swirls vanishing through the crowd. The direction was obvious, the women's bathroom. Catherine started after Helen -her friend?- wanting to make sure that she was ok. Though by the scent that she followed, Helen was not ok. She stopped at the door, knowing immediately that it was lock. "Helen, are you alright?" Catherine was concerned, she was always like that and she wanted to make sure that Helen was ok.
Helen Gustare - January 23, 2007 04:54 AM (GMT)
Helen hastily wipped her tears, and unlocked the door, letting Catherine in, but ready to lock it again as soon as she entered. She grabbed a paper towel from the roll at the sink, and tried to wipe away her vampiric tears. But her headache and painful memories still went on.
She tried to look at Catherine through watery eyes, and said through sobbing spurts. "My parents were murdered... And usually... I get flashbacks.... From that night... In... My sleep... But all.... of.. a sudden... They appeared just now. I... Don't know why....I get these horrible... headaches when.. it happens.... and heartache...." Her voice trailed off as she melted back onto the toilet, the lid over the seat.
She buried her face in the paper towel. Completely embarrassed. She hated giving any emotion more than a smirk to people she barely knew... And because of these damnable flashbacks she was breaking down in the bathroom. She shook her head, and murmured over and over her apologies for ruining Catherine's night. "Don't worry about me, they will go away soon...I hope."
Pandora Lorrain - January 23, 2007 05:00 AM (GMT)
Catherine entered the bathroom and quickly locked it behind her. There was another bathroom that the other woman could go to, this one was now occupied. Catherine listened to Helen. The poor woman, to have her entire family slaughtered. "Something must have brought it on. Things like that don't simply happen. Usually there is a cause for something like this to start. Do you have any idea what it is?"
Catherine wanted to help. Sometimes she was a little too helpful or a little too much in the way. That happened but she was willing to do anything she could to help, even a person she had just met. Besides camaraderie between coven members was a big must. "They will fade but they will return, that is one thing about memories even the painful ones, they never quite fade away."
Helen Gustare - January 23, 2007 05:13 AM (GMT)
Helen shook her head, and held it in her hands. She had no idea what had brought it on. Had she maybe thought of something that reminded her of her mother? Or father? Or was it something in the music? The way she danced? She was too little to remember anything before the accident.... Except the flowers. Her mother's beautiful garden... She shook her head, though softly. Any quick movement hurt her head.
She looked up at Catherine, still clutching the paper towel tightly. "I don't know Catherine... I was just dancing, and all of a sudden it seemed to cut through my head like a knife." The paper towel was now a mix of a brown red color from her crimson tears. She wiped her new forming tears, party there from the pain, not really from the memory anymore...
She took a deep breath, and moved her falling hair out of her face to behind her ears. She rocked back and forth, trying to comfort the throbbing pains stabbing at her forehead.
Pandora Lorrain - January 26, 2007 12:03 AM (GMT)
Catherine frowned. It was possible that another vampire had brought it on, after all this place was crawling with them, but why affect Helen? If it was a vampire what did it want? "I don't know what to tell you, I've never had that problem."
Catherine wasn't all that much older than Helen, so when it came to psychological things, she didn't know all that much and her telepathy had just appeared. She could barely read people and even then it had to be directed towards her. What she could mostly read was emotions. "I wish I could help, but I have no idea how."
She kneeled down on the ground next to Helen and wrapped her arms around Helen, holding her trying to comfort her. "Everything will be fine, you'll see."
Helen Gustare - January 26, 2007 12:31 AM (GMT)
Helen brought the wadded up paper towel, and dried her eyes... The pain started fade slightly. She leaned into Catherine slightly, and just tried to calm herself. She was scared. She didn't understand why these memories were coming into her consciousness.
She took a deep breath, and pulled away from Catherine. She dried her eyes, and threw away the paper towel. She smoothed her hair, smooth her skirt, and tried to recompile herself. She nodded thankfully at Catherine for her support, and gave her a small hug. She murmured a thank you... And listened to the click of the door unlocking.
Pandora Lorrain - January 26, 2007 04:15 AM (GMT)
Catherine was glad that she was able to give comfort. It was something she enjoyed doing. She loved to give comfort and to reassure people. She always assumed that it was her motherly side coming out. She always had wanted children, pity vampires couldn't have any.
Catherine grabbed a wet paper towel and wiped away the remaining tears. Being a vampire you couldn't quite check your reflection in the mirror. "There you go. No more tears..." She turned as the door became unlocked.
Helen Gustare - January 27, 2007 04:05 AM (GMT)
Helen managed a small smirk at Catherine's motherly attributes, and continued to the bar. She got a few strange looks, two women coming out of the bathroom at the same time, but she didn't care.
She veered from the dance floor, in fear that something else, if not the same thing would trigger her painful memories. Instead, she headed for the bar, and a waiting glass of rum near her previous chair. She sat down quietly, and placed one heel on the foot rest railing the bottom of the bar. She picked up the rum, and coolly let the cold liquid run down her throat. It was a refreshing feeling.
Helen looked towards Catherine, embarrassed. She couldn't believe what had just happened. A mental breakdown. In public no less. Her eyes darted from Catherine, onto the dance floor, maybe detecting something that would have been a trigger. Nothing.
Pandora Lorrain - January 27, 2007 04:51 AM (GMT)
Catherine watched her leave and followed her. She obviously felt better and Catherine would try to keep in that way. She followed Helen out and leaned against the bar to have a drink placed next to her. She took a swig out of it and let the alcohol burn down her throat. She hadn't quite seen that one coming, though she pretended like it didn't affect her in the lease.
Catherine glanced at Helen, before returning her gaze to the drink. "Are you sure that you are going to be ok?" Catherine simply wanted to make sure that Helen would be alright, it was a concern any friend would make.
Helen Gustare - January 27, 2007 05:05 AM (GMT)
Helen let the rest of the rum wash down her throat with one big gulp. She sighed, and nodded almost reluctantly. She closed her eyes, as if to compose herself. Her eyes went to Catherine, and met hers. "Yeah, I'll be fine." She didn't actually know if she was, but didn't want to worry her. Normally, she would have perferred Catherine not see that.
She obviously had no choice though. Unfortunate, but she would deal. She wondered how long they would find themselves at the bar. She was growing weary, and wasn't sure how much alcohol she could take in without becoming completely numb. Who knows, in her current perspective of things, numbness would be a plus.
"Just enjoy yourself, don't let my silly mind ruin your good time, Catherine." She whispered.
Pandora Lorrain - January 27, 2007 05:10 AM (GMT)
Catherine looked at her. "Actually I'm ready to call it a night." A soft smile played across her face. "I'd rather be home, before Julian wakes up, I don't kno when he wakes and if he finds me gone, well I'd have to come up with a reason for me being out and I'd rather not make him worry for nothing."
Catherine finished her drink and smiled. "So what do you say, shall we call it a night or do you want to stay here a little longer?" Catherine would prefer going home, but she would stay with Helen if she wanted to stay a little longer.
Helen Gustare - February 4, 2007 04:05 AM (GMT)
Helen managed a smile, and nodded. "I'm ready to head out too." She started walking, but stopped. She turned, and faced Catherine. She placed a soft, cold hand on her shoulder, and bit her lip. But soon her lips curled into a shy smile, "Thank you so much Catherine for this wonderful night. I had a great time." She patted Catherine gently, and turned.
She made her way to the door. She bumped into the young man which she had been dancing with who asked for her number. Helen raised an eyebrow, and told him she didn't have a number. Discouraged, he hung his head, and returned to the dance floor, lurking for another female.
Helen's eyes shone in the moonlight, and she walked out into the street, crossing it, her heels clicking on the pavement. Onto the sidewalk, she exhaled, and watched the fog come out of her mouth. She smiled, at the simple entertainment.
Pandora Lorrain - February 4, 2007 04:14 AM (GMT)
Catherine was pleased that she could leave. Even though she was a vampire and that she would sleep with the sun she was getting tired. Perhaps she was getting too old for this. An amused smile drew upon her lips. Too old? Her? She wouldn't age, ever.
She smiled at Helen. "It was my pleasure, it's always more fun to go out with someone that you know. It makes it more interesting." Catherine watched her walk out and then followed to make her way to Julian's appartement. She would soon settle for a nice, somewhat warm day.
