The police station had become slightly less crowded, but not enough to be noticed. Most of the officers in the station were asleep, meaning the noise level was low as well.

The Jack of all people (heh, trades) sat at his desk, fiddling with his large .50 cal desert eagle. Having disassembled it, he greased some of the moving parts to help keep them working smoothly. It was a habit...ever since he spent time with the Special operations in Iraq, it had left him fooling with his own weapons like they were military equipment.

After greasing up the final part, he started putting the gun back together. The well shined black pieces of the gun slid into their places with relative ease, something that he enjoyed. After getting the final pieces in, he pulled the left drawer to his desk open, inside a pile of ten clips. Pulling out three, he set them all on top of the desk before closing the drawer again. All three clips were empty, but he still found a use for them. Calmly and quietly he placed his free hand on the gun, holding it as if he were in a firefight.

Within a flash of movement, the first clip was in his left hand, moving towards the bottom of the gun and sliding in. He then hit the slide release, causing the imaginary bullet to load into the chamber as the gun gave a satisfying click upon having the slide stop. Pulling back on the slide he hit the clip release, letting the clip fall out while he reached for the second clip.

The process repeated until the final clip was in the gun. Once that was unloaded, he slammed the heavy pistol down on top of his desk, as if declaring himself a master at using the weapon.

"Look, I didn't realize it was so late." Seraphina said in a quiet protest to the officer who was bringing her in to the station, her hands unnessicarily cuffed behind her back. "I was just on my way home from visiting my mum's grave. That's all..."

And it was the truth. She had gone to visit her mother's grave like every night nearly, and she was just so weary with lack of blood that she had falled asleep on the soft grass. Walking back later than usual she had the misfortune of running across the patrolling Officer Carter.

"Look, it's not my rules darling, and it's for your own good. Lots of people end up missing in this city, and I'm sure there are plenty of people who wouldn't want you to end up like that." The woman, probably in her late thirties, said in an almost maternal tone.

"Well... Can't you just take me home now? I can tell you where I live and all."

The woman shook her head. "Sorry. We have to follow certian procedures. I'll have to call your parents and then they can either come pick you up or I can take you home then." At those words Sera had to work hard to keep the fear out of her face. She knew her father was still alive... But she had never wanted to see him again. Never.

"My mum's dead though. I told you that." She said softly.

"Well then we'll call your father then won't we? I'm sure he'll be glad to know you're alright. Agent Monroe?" Carter then asked as they passed by a desk with the man behind it. "Could you watch her a bit while I go get the nessicary paperwork?" Sera was tence as a snake about to strike, though she never really would. She just wanted to get out of there... Her father? Her father would kill her. He would find a way...

Jack was swimming in his limitless glory, looking at the ceiling with a twinkle of impression in his eyes. If the station had been empty, he might have gone to his primal instincts and bellowed in a triumphant roar.

The voice of Officer Carter however interrupted his moment of pride, pulling him from the moment and extinguishing the flame of happiness that had filled this dull hour. Looking down at the gun on his wooden desk, he eyed it temporarily before looking away from it and towards Officer Carter.

Yeah sure, I'll watch her for now." Jack said in a bored tone as he leaned back in his chair. Deep inside he felt like giving her the "Cwazy" eye and saying "Do I look like a babysitter to you?. The phrase remained a thought, and was eventually drowned by disappointment like his glory filled moment before. He quietly pointed to a chair across from his desk, knowing that Officer Carter would understand what it was for. It was merely a seat for the kid, that way he could watch her for now.

Again, Jack was forced to entertain himself. Pulling his gun from the desk, he opened the right bottom drawer of his old desk and placed the gun inside. He then dug round a little, as if searching for something of great importance.

She blunk at the man as she.... Heard him speak? No... He hadn't moved his lips. She hadn't seen him move his lips at all after he said that he'd 'watch her for now'. But... He wasn't a babysitter? Well, obviously not, but was he really that resentful of having to just have her sit near by for a few minutes?

With a sigh of defeat and confusion she moved to the chair and sank down, her arms still behind her uncomfortably as the woman dissapered.

She sat there quiet for a few moments, shifting every so often as if truing to slip her hands out of the cuffs. they were beginning to hurt really... Maybe...

As she looked up at him again, he seemed to be searching for something, but of course she really didn't know what. Probably something else for his guns. That was something that had never been in her house. Her father never had a gun, and it was probably a good thing for her. Hell, if he had a gun he probably would have shot her long ago, or even that night when he nearly killed her. A sharp pain in her shoulder brought her out of ther thoughts

"Uh sir?" She spoke softly. "D'ya think you could maybe take these off? My shoulders and wrists are starting to really hurt... It's not like I'm gonna go anywhere..." But... Would he take them off? Would he help her? He seemed to be a stickler for rules... Sort of tough... But Ambros seemed like that too at times.

Jack continued digging, finding what he was looking for next to impossible to find. After a few moments however, he managed to dig it up out of the thick piles of bullets and military equipment. Oddly enough he had left a grenade somewhere in the fray of objects...but that would be examined later.

Sitting back up, Jack looked at the girl as if he was intentionally trying to seem suspicious. Slightly leaned back, his face looked a little retracted, as if he were trying to hide something.

"gee, I wonder what I could do to remove those cuffs..." Jack thought about it for a moment. He then looked at the girl with the mock thought look. his eyes swiveled to stare at the roof as if in thought. "Well, I'd assume that I could, oh well..." he paused and let out a sigh "...I forgot my keys in the glove compartment." He then looked around. "I guess you'll have to-" before he finished, another voice came, obviously his trying to imitate a kids show character of some sort. Slowly a small kitten puppet came up from behind the desk, looking around.

"Hey Jack, you don't know Jack do you?" The poorly imitated cat said to Jack. He acted surprised for a moment.

"Well of course I do, I am J...say, could you go out and get my keys, I think they're in the glove compartment." Jack paused for a second as he manipulated the puppet to look at him funny.

"Of course, let me get it." Fluffy the kitten then started making coughing noises before ducking below the desk. Within a moment, a small set of keys to the handcuffs launched from behind the desk towards the girl. Jack pretended to be surprised.

"So that's where they were!" He nearly broke out in a fake laugh, but instead just gave a surprised smile.

Was... Was this guy crazy? Seraphina only gave him a blank stair. This was the city's finest... No wonderwhy her father beat her without anyone bothering...

She had to hold back a sigh and a roll of her eyes as the keys bounced off her lap and to the ground at her feet. Well, it should have been obvious that she wasn't going to catch them, not with her hands behind her back the way they were.

"Sir... With all due respect I'm sixteen... I grew out of puppets ten years ago..." Sera said hesitantly. She liked cats of course... They were her favorites even though she had never had a pet before... There was a stray one that she kinda took care of back home, she'd put a little food out for it when she could afford it. But...

Well... Apparently he wasn't going to help her. Guns and puppets. Interesting combination, but... Why did they trust him with guns if he was crazy?

Sinking back in the chair with a last look at the keys on the floor she leaned her head back with a silent sigh. Where was Ambros, or even Raven, when she needed them? Would she be able to get the other officer to call Ambros to come pick her up instead? Or would she call her father? What had happened to her father though, where was he now?

"How long is this going to take?" She asked, her pale face tilted up to the ceiling.

Jack's small expression of any joy faded away once more. He didn't understand children anymore...even though at some point he was one.

Pulling open the drawer once more, he stuffed the puppet inside. Although it would make him seem crazy, Jack was more sane than a rock. Sitting there he thought about it for a second, the phrase going through his head, but he brushed it aside.

"I'll see if I can shorten the waiting time." He spoke, his voice now more natural and sounding like a mix of a whisper and a grunt, forming speech. Reaching for his phone, he pulled it from the hook and started dialing a number.

His finger retracted from the phone as the sound of shouting came from the entrance of the police station. Where a normal man might have dropped the phone and hidden, he simply placed it on the receiver and stood up from his chair. He then removed the .454 raging bull from his shoulder holster and placed it inside the desk. Stepping away, he walked towards theentry to the back of the police station where two police officers were having problems with somebody they had recently arrested.

The woman was in her twenties, but still young and quite attractive to say the least, or at least by Jack's standards. she was dressed in a somewhat toughened form of clothing which made her feel tough in a way. Wearing a black tank top and blue jeans, the tattoo on her right shoulder wasn't hard to see either, telling Jack that she had a personality to match the clothing. Three officers struggled to keep her restrained, and by the looks of it, two sets of handcuffs were not enough to do the job.

The first officer had tried to put another set of handcuffs on her, but ended up getting kicked away. The second and thrid simply tried to pull her towards the nearest prison cell for their own protection. The task however seemed a little more difficult than expected.

Stepping up beside the other two officers, Jack slid his leg under the woman, causing her to trip and land on the floor. He then grabbed her by the wrist and twisted it behind her back, making it so that it would break if she tried to pull it free.

"Okay, we're going over to my desk...there's a kid there, so you're going to be calm." Jack spoke with a hint of irritation as his eyes focused on the two officers. they recognized the signal and stepped back. One of them cleared their throat to ease the tension.

"It's another vampire fanatic, she attacked an officer while intoxicated...I think..." The man spoke as if it was his duty, and then turned to walk away. The second officer followed. As soon as they were gone, Jack puled his own set of handcuffs. Unlike the others, the cuffs were put together directly, removing the chain entirely. Jack cuffed both of the woman's arms before escorting her back to his desk.

Being forced into the chair beside the one the Sera, Sheila simply stared at the ground, cursing at herself for being caught. Thankfully this night had been one that she hadn't worn her armor, otherwise things would have been much worse.

Staring at the two, Jack didn't show any sign of being pleased, but instead just an average "It's one of those days" looks, a slight frown with half closed eyes.

"Okay, so, do you have a phone number I can call?" Jack asked as he pointed towards Sera.

AngelWings - January 2, 2007 01:28 PM (GMT)
Seraphina smelt the vampire before she even saw her. How... How had she gotten caught? Sera could have gotten away, but that would have just cause more problems she though… Especially if she had gotten trapped. She had just expected to get a ride back to Ambros’ place and that be the end of it.

But the woman didn’t seem to be paying to much mind to her, wallowing in a sort of self-pity and irritation…

Her head snapped up though as the officer, who didn’t seem that crazy anymore, asked her for a phone number. Yeah… I t just seemed like he was ‘out of touch’ with kids… But hell, what sixteen year old liked puppets?

“Number?” She echoed. “I live with tio Ambros, my uncle Ambros. When he offered to let me stay with him a few months back, I couldn’t say no.” But she might have if she had been given the choice. She repeated the home number for their apartment, hoping Ambros would be there. “But uh, I can give you his cell cause he migh’ be out lookin for me… I fell asleep on my mum’s grave again… He knows I do that…” She shifted her arms again, a look of slight irritation on her face. “But can you please take these off, I’m not like stupido there an gonna try somthin. I just wanna go home, ya?”

Blackjackal - January 3, 2007 02:44 AM (GMT)
Jack dialed in the number with the index finger of his right hand, the same hand that held the phone. with his left, he tossed a set of keys, this time having them aimed to land in the girl's lap. If she knew how to operate Keys like he did, or any other common person, unlocking the cuffs wouldn't be too hard to do alone.

Sheila seemed to curse at the sight, growing more frustrated. With the irritation becoming more visible, Jack was quick to shoot a glare at her as he placed the phone against his ear. While the dial tone was still ringing, he simply glared at her with a mean look in his eyes.

Sheila didn't speak, but instead slouched in the chair, angry that she had been cuffed by a police officer. Jack Monroe technically wasn't however, due to his position in the city as an investigator. The thought reminded him to type up his next report before heading home to his apartment, the one apartment next to the one the man was killed in a while ago...a bloodbath.

For a second he waited, thinking to himself how he would tell this person that their relative was caught at her mother's grave, and brought in because of Curfew. The whole thing seemed pointless, but rules were rules, call the closest parent.

"Which relative of your lives closer?" He asked patiently as he fiddled with a small paperclip that had been resting on top of his desk.

AngelWings - January 3, 2007 03:09 AM (GMT)
Sera paid no mind to the vampire woman next to her as she tried to fiddle with the keys. Well, she had never tried to get herself out of handcuffs before... Never a need really. They could pull up her records and all, the only thing they would see was that she hadn't been in school for about four months. She had an easy enough time with that though...

Easier than the handcuffs anyway.

After about five minutes she had one hand free. It was hard to first get the keys and then get the little key into the little hole. Well, if breaking out of handcuffs were easy they wouldn't be useful, would they? Once she had the one hand done, the other was easy enough.

She tossed the keys and the cuffs on the desk as he asked the question.

"I don't know where my dad lives anymore... He moved after I left with my uncle. Guess he wanted a smaller place since I wasn't there... But I don't give a damn." She shrugged, more to move her shoulders than anything. And a thought crossed her mind. Could this vampire hear her if Sera said something to her mind? She of course would try to help her if she could... But...

"So that by default would be my uncle. Unless you can just drop me back off where the other officer picked me up by the grave yard? A little closer than my uncles appartment really. My mom's there if you wanna check the records."
