Nafalen knelt in a dark corner of an alley. A fresh body was there. Well, freshly deceased. He inspected the body quickly, but carefully. It had been fully drained, but it was a cleaner kill. Less mutilated and destroyed then the previous victems had been.

'At least she's getting better,' though Nafalen with a grim look on his face.

he had been tracing a new fledgling for a few weeks. Each kill that he found was cleaner, drained more, and better hidden. But he was getting closer. His tracking skills worked just as well in the city as they had in the Middle Ages. Nafalen wouldn't normally follow a vampire he didn't know, but this one was a fledgling. And she wasn't very good at clearing her dinner. She could very easily reveal the existance of vampires with her carelessness. He couldn't let this happen.

Getting a bit frustrated, Nafalen tokk a lighter from his pocket and burned the body. Quickly leaving the alley, Nafalen turned and briskly walked down the street. His cloak billowed behind him with his fast pace. Glancing down each alley as he passed them, he knew that if he didn't find and stop her soon, vampires would be exposed to the mortals.

Turning his head, Nafalen stopped short. His cloak fell and wrapped around him before straightening itself out. He had found just what he had been tracking. Knelt over a body was a female, in her twenties Nafalen thought from her body's shape. She was feeding.
