Vincent’s hands were cold and clammy, made stiff by a combination of having just washed his hands and by the cold air outside. He moved down the steps in front of the police department, tugging on a pair of thin but warm red gloves.

He loved Autumn and Winter. Aside from loving the snow and the leaf fall itself, Vincent also loved the seasons because he could wear his full-cover clothing to shield his skin from the sunlight and not get odd looks. Vincent was exiting his place of work, or rather the building that his place of work was located under, wearing a pair of black slacks, everything else hidden beneath a calf-length black duster jacket. The jacket made his frame more narrow when buttoned up, causing him to appear taller. Around his throat was a red scarf, covering his throat and jaw, a pair of sunglasses shielded his eyes. The only flesh showing was that of the area between his chin and his high cheekbones and his forhead.

Vincent stopped on the sidewalk, wiggling his long fingers into the gloves the rest of the way and then turned towards his home. Changing his mind in three steps, he turned around and began walking in the other direction towards the restaurants and coffee shops. This evening, with the onset of a winter chill, was a good one to have a coffee.

Upon entering the shop, Vincent stopped just inside the door, basically blocking the enterence without thought and pushed the glasses up into his long black hair, revealing gray eyes, and with pale hands began to unwrap the scarf from his throat.
