Title: Big Vampire Plot
Christian - March 15, 2006 06:47 AM (GMT)
I was just wondering if there was going to be a board wide plot that would happen, something that would affect the whole group of vampires within the city? Just curious if someone had something planned.
Marcus - March 15, 2006 07:00 AM (GMT)
At this point in time, no, there is nothing planned.
That isn't to say that it isn't something that could happen in the future, but so far, the only ideas that have been proposed have involved a coven war or a violent revelation of the existence of vampires which aren't particularly appealing to me. Or really even feasible, given the abilities of the elder vampires.
So, no, nothing yet. :heh:

OOhhh... Could we have another Vampire ball dealy? *eyes giltter excitedly* There was one when I first came looong ago it seems! It was a lot of fun and I think with my new charies it might even be more interesting now ^.^
Christian - March 15, 2006 01:20 PM (GMT)
I heard of that... wasn't it called "The Masquerade" or something like that? That would be cool but what we need is something that's going to endanger the vampire's and threaten to expose them.
<Coffin Dancer> - March 15, 2006 04:03 PM (GMT)
WARRRR!!!
-Squeak-
Yeah, uh-uh. No war. War bad. Fragments cool.
There was a ball?
Anyway.
A board-wide plot would be nice... Maybe introducing the existence of other fantastical monsters (werebeasts or sumpin'?) and having the vampires feel threatened?
>__>
<__<
Yah, my ideas are not... how you say? Ingenious. (o)__(o)
Nafretiri - March 15, 2006 06:31 PM (GMT)
*sharp glance at Coffin, before tape over mouth*
No. War. Ever.
Yay fragments! (As you said.)
Iunno. I think it would get too complicated if we started having multiple creatures just running around, especially since some of the characters on Vital are way old. You can't be around something like five-thousand years and not notice that there's something else out there. Unless you're the most pompous, most ignorant person ever.
It just doesn't seem logical to me to one day have the vampires go, "Hey. There are werewolves. Imagine that. Who would've thought?"
*cough*
But as for endangering the Vampires, that's a very hard thing to do with the Amman around. I mean, that's basically why the Amman were created - to keep everything safe and out of mortal eyes. They can erase your memory or make your head explode or something before you'd get a chance to even come close to pulling off an evil plot.
And face it - humans as a whole are vastly ignorant beings. If they see something odd, there will be a few who will obsess over it, but the rest of the world will forget it, like the
Zodiac Killer or the likes. Those who don't forget will be taken care of by the Amman. Poof, no problem.
It would have to be a very original/unique/flawless plan for it to be able to be pulled off, and so far here on Vital, we haven't seen that.
(But we have seen a whole lot of War! War ! Coven war! War with mortals! Blah blah blah. Which is why we're so against it. It's getting tiresome.)
<Coffin Dancer> - March 15, 2006 07:29 PM (GMT)
WEREBEASTS!!!!
Awwwr.
I like that idea. -Pout- Maybe there could be something like... like... like...
Yeah. I got nothin'.

O_O
I know I've been gone for a while, but this board looked quite intriguing... and I was right.
I would most definitely agree that a board-wide plot would be, like... friggin' sweet, but as for original, flawless, unique ideas... I have a feeling I'm getting a bit rusty on that department.
But my only suggestion would be such...
(The only problem with this would be that we'd need like, temporary NPC's.)
Okay, here's the idea-lillo...
Over the past few months, there could have been some construction done on some of the farthest outskirts of the city... more like towards the country. The only thing people knew of it was that it was a large sized structure that was being made to house numerous people. So people in the city would just assume it was another hotel.
Well, later on, invitations to a ball could be sent out to everyone stating that the house was actually owned by a wealthy businessman who was moving there to invest in the city, and bring changes for the better, industrially.
The thing is, no one has seen this man, or anyone who works for him during the time this construction was being done, and even after the building was built (It's more like his home), people have yet to see him... and all they see are numerous maids, servants, and aids around the home helping out with serving the guests at the ball. (If desired it could be like a masquerade.)
This is where it starts getting a little iffy...
When the vampires arrive at the ball, there could be a strange, unnatural scent looming around the property and inside the large home. It could be somewhat familiar... yet foreign. (Though to others it might be more than familiar.)
As the ball progresses, about halfway through, that's when this businessman's family starts to mingle with the guests. Probably his wife and children... maybe his parents. (This is also where the NPC's come in. ) And this is when it starts coming around to the vamps that the scent was that of lycan's. But in order to protect themselves and those of the mortal's of the area, they choose to ignore the fact, and instead decide to get with themselves and wait till they were in the clear before deciding to do anything rash.
Well, after the businessman's family starts to mingle, the big man himself can finally make his grand appearance. (I think it would be best, that instead of creating a whole other account and such, maybe an admin should play this character seeing as they would probably know what would be best to do in the situation.)
Well, here would be when the lycan's get note of the vampire's presence and start to become wary themselves. But, like the vampires, they choose to remain discrete for their own protection. So, they just continue to do what they have been doing the entire time, and they too decide to wait out till their in the clear.
(Now, I plan that this would be the only time Lycans can make a nice big appearance on the boards... and this is why.)
After the fun and games are over, the mortal's all leave but the vampires idly bide their time till it's only the lycan's and the vampire's left. (And yes... all unsuspecting mortal's must leave.)
Here is where one of three things can happen.
1. The "RAAAAWR" people can get their nice big warlike RP between the vampires and lycans, and we can get this phase out of our way...
or...
2. The vampires can 'kindly' ask the lycans to leave... and the lycan's comply...
or... (And this is the most farfetched idea of them all)
3. The admins would actually let the lycans continue to remain in the city... but only as NPC's.
Like I said... a lot iffy... but this was the best I could come up with. (Besides, it was a lot of typing which gave me an excuse from all this time I've had to stay off vital.)
If you hate it... *Runs into corner* Don't bite my head off....please?
But if you are iffy about it... *nods head* Good... me too...
And if you like it... *Arches eyebrow* Your easy to please...
But yes... now I shall run off and hopefully no one will find me if they hate it so bad they want to smack me with a frying pan... *scurries off to hidden lair*
Marcus - March 16, 2006 12:16 AM (GMT)
I dunno... I'm kind of tempted to give you the frying pan treatment just for using the term "lycans". :P
We'd still need an explanation for why werewolves suddenly turn up. And seeing as we haven't really made an explanation for why vampires exist at all, coming up with reasoning for wers would be a little on the tough side.
I have more to say, but I'm currently brain dead... Other mods? Back me up here?
Skirr - March 16, 2006 12:51 AM (GMT)
NO WERECREATURES. PLEASE. NO. NO. NO.
Why?
Then this site becomes a play off of Underworld. I joined Vital because it really is very unique. Lots of new members joined, thinking UNDERWORLD! YAY OMG AWESOMEEEE!
We don't need to encourage them. And, like Claire said, it'd be awkward for werecreatures to just show up right now. They haven't been around for thousands of years. Why would they show up now?
Anyway.
If we're going to do anything, it should be a site wide idea. Like, example: In three weeks, the world'll stop spinning and the sun will be out for a week. How would everyone react?
I'm not so keen on a site wide thread. That means everyone has to reply to it, and people will get lost quickly...
Anyway. That's my two cents.
Darkasian - March 16, 2006 01:12 AM (GMT)
Ahhhh, I like your idea Cole! A weeklong night would be fricking awesome.
Skirr - March 16, 2006 02:22 AM (GMT)
Hah, I was making a stupid example, Jeef. If you could do something like that, only feasible, then we could do it.
Gabriel - March 16, 2006 02:48 AM (GMT)
I'm against the whole werewolf thing, basicly cause of the underworld stuff.
However as for a site wide plot...Hmm all I can think of is maybe another coven entering the city and having some type of party.
A. Because that would be an excuse for any vampire in the city to come to the party, so some interesting rp in that.
B. It would cause some tension bewteen old covens in new maybe some fights between the heads of covens. (Verbal not physical though I mean whats to stop a few fists fights with the younger vampires.)because some might want the coven to stay while others would be against it so arguing would start up.
C. It might encourge some of our independents to join covens to get involved in the rps. I mean sure, independents would be involved, but members would be even more so.
D. It would have long term effects. Even if the coven is kicked out tensions could remain from the covens who wanted them to stay. If it did stay, well thats a new coven and thus long term changes.
Really though I'm not saying that it should happen. It's just the only thing I can really think of without starting a war, but that could involve alot of people.

Right, I've been doodling in my "big book o' crap" and I was thinking that maybe humans could be straying a little too close to the vampire secret. No that they would ever find out... but something that would mean that the clans would be thrown into turmoil and be forced to work together (with the more brutal clans being somewhat of a hinderance).
I'm playing around with some ideas at the moment, my big book o' crap has never failed me yet.
Edit: My big book o'crap has done it again. Here's what I have.
Basically, some crazy old scientist witnesses a vampire and records it on a tape-recorder so that if something happens, he won't forget. Someone of the Amman will wipe the scientists mind clean, but they don't know about the tape recorder.
So when the scientist finds his tape recorder and listens to himself going on about vampires, he knows it must be true. He knows that no-one is going to believe him because... let's face it... he knows no-one is going to believe him.
...
And that's it... I haven't got anymore.
Basically, the scientist expierments and finds some vampire DNA that was on his jacket. Taking the DNA of the vampire, the scientist combines it with a vampire bat's dna and injects himself with a serum which is meant to enhance his strength.
Things go wrong and the scientist transforms into this half-bat half vampire creature that has the strength of the vampire and the speed of the vampire bat. So obviously, the vampires have to unite and stop this creature before the scientist blows the vampire secret.
That's what I have... so what d'ya think?
