Title: Another sleepless night
Description: -Nikolaos-

Shie - March 9, 2006 02:24 AM (GMT)
Sitting on a bench, the runaway wrinkled her nose. Smoke mingled in the air mixing with must and pollution, the perfume of the city. She shifted her weight, her back demanding something softer then the cold iron that Shie told herself she would be staying on for the night. She sighed as she lay on her back, smiling at the winking eyes of the belittling cloak of night above her. Moonbeams danced silently on the sidewalk through silhouetted branches. Wiping her eyes with the dark green cotton of her sweatshirt, Shie strained her ears to the silence. Every noise amplified by fear, her breath quickened with anxiety. Soon it will be morning. she told herself, her only solace, Go to sleep.. She rolled over, closing her eyes, looking anything but asleep. Teeth grinding while she hummed to herself, Shie new it was useless. She outlined the rings, a tattoo of fear around her eyes, wondering how much they showed up against her porcelain skin. Another sleepless night...

Nikolaos - March 9, 2006 02:31 AM (GMT)
Nikolaos had just returned, from a simple diner, a simple diner where she had her fill, a lovely diner where she could replenish herself. With blood, of course. Nikki felt another's presence, her heart- yes her- beating frantically, no-- restlessly. Sleep for a mortal. She knew the moratl when she saw her and Nikki's black leather boots made no sound, Strange.

The rest of Nikki's attire contained dark jeans that hung low on her waist and a dark emerald tanktop to match her eyes. She wasn't really hot or cold so she really didn't need a coat.
Her red hair was down and straight, hanging loosely over her shoulder. A soft yuet amused smile graced her lips as she walked towards the other woman. She herself appeared nineteen... and human. Of course, she was a little pale and had fangs but that was the only setback.

She didn't say anything to the girl, simply moved to a bench beside her, curling her legs up onto the bench and fixing emerald eyes ont eh young girl before looking away. She was bored. What fun was being a vampire? No fun when no one was out to play in the night.

A soft smile on her lips and she trailed her fingers over her boot... The mortal wasn't very interesting.. Maybe she was a hobo. That would be amusing.. She shook her head. What an annoying sense of humor she had.. dry, but a sense of humor none the less.

Shie - March 9, 2006 08:06 PM (GMT)
Feeling the weight of shiftless pupils on her again, Shie tried to force her attention on the thrilling details on the back of her eyelids. If she squinted, the familiar ball that changed colors hovered in the blackness. Red, Orange, Green, Blue, Purple...

She stirred, breathing deeply while her imagination, an inescapable illusionist, conjured images of her step dad. What if that's him watching? Choking back a cry, she chewed her lower lip. After fear carved reason and sense out of the young girls head, a familiar voice echoed in the hallowness. I am here.

Her eyes mechanically opened, revealing dark pupils dancing across the almost deserted park, endlessly searching for the monster who had taught her to hate. They rested on something that wasn't a monster at all, Nikolaos.

"What is with beautiful people and this town?" she grumbled to herself, sitting up as she franticly combed her fingers through her hair, attempted to smooth a wrinkle big enough to call a scar in her sweatshirt, and wished she was at least pretty.

She smiled at Nikolaos awkwardly, noting the leather boots which screamed sexy. Her enchanting eyes, a mesmerizing emerald the reflected the stars, held her gaze. Scarlet locks cascaded over her shoulder in brilliant magnificence. Not fair! Not fair! Not fair!

Nikolaos - March 9, 2006 08:28 PM (GMT)
Nikki smiled and nodded. "Who ever told you what beauty is?" she asked the girl ubruptly, an amused smile on her lips. Her legs crossed and she turned on her bench to see the young girl on her own... a blonde.. one who was terribly frightened. Sure Sure.. the smell of fear in the air was intoxicating but Nikolaos had better control than that... She was better than that. Besides.. she had already fed.

Nikolaos licked her lips and looked up at the magnificent stars, dotting the dark abyss of the night. A gentle breeze touched Nikki's bare shoulders and she might've shivered had she been human... She was empty but her eyes still held traces of something forgotten....

That something was Ireland, her family, and so many other things... Now, as before... she wandered the night- lost in her own way, fininding herself in peculiar situations that didn't always make sense.. Like now.

She returned to her question of before.. this girl a hobo? Maybe... Maybe just a runaway. Why was she so afraid. Damn curiousity but she wasn't a cat and she was "lucky".... yeah let's test her theory once more: Curiousity did not kill the vampiress.

Shie - March 9, 2006 09:07 PM (GMT)
Shie stiffened, wondering if she was just paid a compliment. Judging her appearance, she guessed not.

"Well, you're pretty." Shie replied earnestly as she made a mental example. Though both their eyes were green, hers shone like emeralds, while Shie's appeared like overripe olives.

Shie stiffed a yawn as she watched Nikki, confused by her expression. The little blonde couldn't name it. Longing? It was ridiculous, why would she want to be with her? Maybe she too had a secret, yearning to be revealed. Shie inhaled sharply, trying to conceal the ray of hope that shined through. The young stranger smiled at her, expression lost. Shoulders dropping out of disappointment, only when the look was gone could the mortal unmask it. Hunger.

I swear I'm going insane.

“So, what are you doing this late?” she asked innocently. The light on her watch glowed 11:06. Fifty-four more minutes to morning. Fifty-four more minutes until another wasted day, the premier to another wasted night.

Nikolaos - March 10, 2006 12:03 AM (GMT)
Nikki smiled and her emerald eyes sparkled. Yes.. the fear was oh so appealing, she could almost taste it and then.. it faded. A small look of dissappointment yes.. but the mortal wasn't catching on. That was always a good thing but she had already fed.. She needent feed more tonight.

"I'm outside for the same reasons most people wander in darkness. I simply have no family and my home is a walk away..." Nikki shrugged, emerald eyes catching the moonlight dangerously. "I enjoy the night... and I can't sleep"

Yes, she was fishing. Oh well. Nikolaos was a curious vampire and she liked figuring things out. Remembering the restlessness of before she assumed the girl couldn't sleep.. why shouldn't she say the same thing... Let the night begin.

Shie - March 10, 2006 01:25 AM (GMT)
Shie licked her lips nervously, trying to ignore the fear slowly creeping up her neck, now burning with anxiety. Her chapped lips cracked at the sudden moisture. Every instinct in her body was telling her to run, to abandon this stranger who was endlessly stared at her. Commanding her feet to run, Shie felt like a mouse gazing into her predator’s eyes. Some force was keeping her there as she swore inwardly.

"Sorry, I shouldn't talk to strangers." The words sounded weak, even in her own ears. It sounded like something a five-year-old would say, and Shie immediately wished the words didn't escape from her mouth.

Nikolaos - March 10, 2006 01:38 AM (GMT)
Nikolaos smiled. "Well.. I am happy you listen to your parents. I suppose this is when I say that I have candy in my car and I'll give it to you if you come with me" Nikolaos remarked lightly. Her tone was sarcastic but this time, her smile had changed. It was... warmer than before, but not by much. The girl reminded her of someone much younger... Terribly naive.

Nikki realized however, that this girl had been through... something. She wasn't sure what but... something about her.

Nikki met the other girl's green eyes and they were a sort of olive color. They'd be prettier had she not been trying to sleep earlier. The girl looked slightly disheveled but still.. she was pretty. Why the hell was she complaining? Nikki almost shrugged and spoke softly with a low laugh that rolled across the night air. The fear had retunred and she didn't need the tempatation.

"Don't worry. I'm not into kidnappings.. Simply a wanderer of the night, as yourself..." she paused. "Am I correct or do you have another reason for your midnight stroll..." Nikolaos stopped herself. "Oh my- I am sorry. I forgot. I am a stranger therefor you cannot talk to me" She shrugged noticeably. "Well then.. I'm Nikki. I suppose I should leave" she said, standing up. Reverse Psychology?

Shie - March 11, 2006 01:16 AM (GMT)
"Oh!" Shie blurted, "Don't leave me!"

As much as this stranger made her feel uncomfortable, being alone was worse. Loneliness: Shie's most powerful fear.

A dog barked in a distant yard, causing Shie to jump nervously. Her ears listened for it again, wondering what the animal was protecting his sleeping family from.

"I mean, you could go if you wanted, I'm not making you stay, though I wouldn't mind. What I'm trying to say is that your company is appreciated. Greatly. And I'm really sorry about the whole stranger thing, just forget it..." Shie babbled, "Sorry, Nikki, I'm Shie." She outstretched her hand in welcoming gesture.

OOC-sorry, short. Trying to sneak on the computer, so yeah... <_<

Nikolaos - March 11, 2006 01:48 AM (GMT)
Nikki smiled. "Thankyou. I will stay... Shie. That is a pretty name" she added.

Nikolaos settled herself back down on the bench, her face content and perplexed at the same time. "May I ask what you are doing out so late Shie?" she asked. "Honestly... I am simply curiosu" Didn't want to alarm the girl and God, she had to stop jumping at every noise. The dog had made her nearly jump out of her skin... the fear was too tempting. If only the girl knew...

Shie - March 12, 2006 05:58 PM (GMT)
"I guess I just like it better here than at my step dad's house." she answered, feeling no need to lie. She shrugged,

"It doesn't feel like home anymore."

Alright, enough of this 'Woe is me' crap.

A lush purple cloud floated over the moon, white light radiating it so it glowed. Faint stars twinkled in the distance, millions of miles away.

"It's a beautiful night." Shie commented, looking at the stars. The word beautiful reminded her of Lucian. A breeze tickled the back of her neck, sending her shivers. Crossing her arms, Shie felt warmer.

Nikolaos - March 17, 2006 08:35 PM (GMT)
"The night is always beautiful" Nikki said with a wry smile.
She shrugged. "You are cold?" she asked before walking around the girl with a content grin.

Eh- Nikki needed the night, she couldn't survive in the day- sometimes she even missed the sun- sometimes....

Shie - March 21, 2006 11:51 PM (GMT)

"A bit..." Shie muttered, eyeing the young woman nervously. She was circling her, like a hawk to its prey. Shie narrowed her eyes, wondering what she was thinking. Was she seizing her up? Debating to kidnap her? How hard could it be to take a girl, all alone in the middle of the night...

No one would hear your scream..

Shie didn't like her smile either. It seemed content with what it was seeing, arrogantly approving her. It reminded her of immature seniors from her old school, or a bum she met once that called her a "teenybopper"...whatever that was.

"Excuse me?" Shie's voice was quiet, "What are you doing?"

Nikolaos - March 22, 2006 01:21 AM (GMT)
"Merely observing how cold you look" her eyes flashing innocence. That was a lie. Nikki smiled and fell back slightly. She nodded.

"can you tell me your whole story or shall I guess?" she asked with a small smile that meant everything and nothing, life and ... death

Shie - March 22, 2006 02:40 AM (GMT)
"Observing? Well...could you not?" Shie didn't mean to sound as rude as she did, but her nerves got the better of her. Anything to get her off. Something was definitely weird with this women.

"I have no story." Shie defended, green eyes flashing. This stranger's expression reminded her of Lucian's, easily prying into her soul and secrets.

"I'm an ordinary girl. I have a crush on this senior. He doesn't know I exist. That's the height of my life. Why?"

Nikolaos - March 23, 2006 01:19 AM (GMT)
"Of course" she said softly, her eyes glinting. She smiled. This girl was stubborn. She liked stubborn girls- of course... why not? They were always more fun when broken. She shrugged. She wasn't going to break the girl... Right now.. she was merely an amusement...

Truth. Nikki was bored.. so right now- she was occupying herself with human affairs. How devious
