Title: Stain Glass Windows
Description: In the Church

Nikolaos - February 20, 2006 06:04 PM (GMT)
Nikolaos ran her hands over her bare white shoulders as she entered the church. Her black tank top hung perfectly onto her chest and her faded black jeans complimented her black boots. She made no sound as she moved and the slight breeze through the one open door played with her red hair and tossed it over her shoulder gently.

Her emerald eyes glimpsed the pale moon shining through the stain glassed windows. God, what would they look like in sunlight? It was a nice question but Nikk wasn't stupid enough to try to find out. She ran her slender fingers along the pews, wandering the church. Night had fallen. She had fed. She was bored....

Diaemus - February 20, 2006 10:23 PM (GMT)
He had heard little rumors around the night clubs about this church, whispers of Nephim. Even though abandoned it still held the feel of use, of faith. He twisted the silver and ebony ring around his finger again, had it really been so long?

Striding up the front stairs toward the door felt like that night in Jerusalem when he'd taken his vows. He'd had to stop at the door and overcome the instinctual fear he felt God is here was the sound in his soul. Now, here, there was no hesitation, no fear. He had been master of many chapels over the years, they held no mystery for him now.

The facade caught his eye in the streaming moonlight as it broke through the clouds. It reminded him so much of the old chapel in the Carpathians so many years ago. How he missed those nights.

A quizical look at the open door. Someone here, he'd not been paying attention like he should. All senses at the alert he crosses the door like a breeze, eyes scanning the chapel proper. His senses tingling at the presence of another. One of US.

Watching her from the shadows he admired her beauty and pondered again the irony of how the Change could bring such beauty to exquisite heights yet the pleasures of the flesh held no hold on the vampiric soul. He sighed inward, for her beauty, the loss of the ability to appreciate it fully, and for the loss of solitude. He'd come here to see if the rumors he heard where true, if the ones called Nephim resided here, or near here. But then, maybe she was one of them.

With a casual step toward the pillar he stood by he moved into and trough the shadow it cast, emerging from another shadow with no more than a whisper of movement at the base of the stairs leading to the alter and Presence. Turning to the young beauty he spoke.

"Do you come for confession My child, or just comfort in the darkness?" Standing with a very regal bearing the backlight of moonlight in his black hair causing a dark halo around his head, and the glint of the silver "iron cross" around his neck and ring on his left index finger the only indications of ornamentation. His grey eyes almost seeming to pierce her through, yet inviting.

Nikolaos - February 20, 2006 11:23 PM (GMT)
Nikolaos spun to see who had appeared through the door. Her skin tingled ever so slightly and she knew what he was. He was not among the Nephim... she knew her coven. Nikolaos' emerald eyes flickered slightly and she set her face into a pasive mask. She smiled, yet it did not reach her eyes. She was guarding herself... paranoi had helped her before.

His contemplation poured over her and she coudl tell he had been deep in thought whilst she wandered through the moonlit aisles. Nikolaos heard him speak and watched as his dark hair fell over his face.

Nikolaos walked around the altar, knowing who stood behind it. She had been Catholic before her turning... Nikki's red hair fell over one eye as she examined the stranger. His gray eyes watched her, it was not uncomfortable and yet it was slightly unnerving as only the dead can be.

"I was indeed wandering with the Night at my side..." she remarked. "Are you too wandering or are you seeking confession... comfort?" Her eyes fell upon the iron cross and she looked away for a small time, walking over to one of the stain glass windows. Her night vision made it out to be a saint... Which saint she did not know... She turned and felt something... he had been watching her. That feeling you get when you're being watched is quite uncomfortable. She took a step towards him. Silence enveloped the 'house of God'

Skirr - February 21, 2006 12:01 AM (GMT)
Silence, but only for a brief moment.

The stairs that lead down to the catacombs creaked and echoed in the church as someone climbed up. A very bedraggled someone. Colton appeared at the top of the stairs in a old grey tee shirt and blue plaid flannel pajamas. He had a toothbrush in his mouth and yesterday's growth on stubble on his chin. He hadn't brushed his hair, and it stuck out wildly from the top of his head.

Colt regarded the other two vampires with a slight nod. He had gotten used to the fact that there were more Nephim around these days. Typically, it was just him. Apparently not tonight.

House of God? No, no... Colton seemed to believe that this was his house. He was dressed like it. Who dared show up to church in their nighties? All he needed were slippers and today's paper to complete his disrespectful appearance. Perhaps a cup of coffee.

Colton hated coffee.

Without another look at Nikolaos and Diaemus, he started down the main isle of the church and shoved open the door. He stood just outside, letting the colder air rush in while he finished brushing his teeth. He didn't say a word.

It was too early to be polite.

Nikolaos - February 21, 2006 12:07 AM (GMT)
Nikolaos smiled at Colton when he nodded. Her emerald eyes flickered and her hands passed over a nearby pew. She contemplated his appearance for awhile. yes, he may have just woken up. Her eyes fell upon the tothbrush. Well.. it's nice to know some vampires care about dental hygiene. She ran a hand through her red hair and contemplated sitting in a pew.

The door flew open and Colton let the soft breeze in. She did not wince just stood there, listeing to the wind and concentrating on its breath upon her fair skin. She walked quietly around the church, looking up and down before she turned back to the starnger, studying him once more as if to figure out whether he was trustworthy or not.... He wasn't a Nephim... Therefore he could be any one of the other covens... any one of the other more... radical covens.

Yet, would anything violent really take place in a freaking church. Perhaps. Though, Nikki doubted it.
