Well now... Perhaps this time their meeting would be a bit better than the last. No nosie officers intruding claiming charges of underage drinking or the likes. Well at least in the little coffee shop she hoped there would not be such a disturbance. She sat quietly at a table waiting for Juan to arrive. She had of course left Karyn at home... A babysitter in her flat. She watned to move in with Istar terribly... But what about Karyn, she didn't know quite how the little girl would take that. She seemed to take a liking to Istar, but she could still feel an aprehension of men. Perhaps they could show the little girl how healty lovers behave. Well the appropreate ways of course.
Sipping at a hot chocolate and reading a copy of Entertainment Weekly, even one who knew of the existance of vampires would not be able to peg her out as one. Rather interesting too really. The thought made her smile. Just as the warmth of the drink did. However she would pay dearly for the drink even though the taste was sweet amd pleasent.
But for now she repressed the feeling of nausia that was rolling her stomach withthe forgien substance. She of course had learned to repress it. After all, she could not refuse to drink hot chocolate with her darling little angel.

The little bell on the door to the shop jingled as it was pushed open. It was Juan that had come through the door and he had obviously been into trouble again. His hair was a bit messed up, compared to its usual style. But overall he looked fine, just tired with a bit of dirt here and there.
Some day he would learn not to prey on gang leaders or policemen, but that day would only come once he decided that it was no longer fun. For now he would just meet Maria like she’d asked him to. She was sitting at a table waiting for him and drink… hot chocolate? Juan shuddered a bit at the thought. He could stomach food and other drinks, but the sweet and warm taste of hot chocolate made his insides turn.
He pulled out a chair and sat down, ”Hey there. Long time no see.”

She could smell him as soon as he entered and her ever so cute nose wrinkled slightly. What had he been into this time? He looked a little rough too. But as for the smell... She was always used to the divine scents of her love or her angel. Istar smelt of everything tempting and seductive a man could offer. And Karyn, just so vibrant, fresh and innocent. Yes, scent was important to one such as her.
"Not too long if I may say so." Ria said with a bit of a smirk. "Perhaps if you could stay out of trouble for more than fifteen minutes perhaps we could have a decent conversation." She said, her smile warming up as she motioned tot he other chair. "Care for a drink of sorts my brother?" She asked, her eyes flicking to the wall clock. it was just about six thirty, excelent. She had already fed and after a nice chat would find herself at home with her daughter.
"Preferably one of a non-alcoholic sort so we won't have to deal with the unpleasentries of last time. I would not like to be kept late for the same reason twice."

“Ah but if I stayed out of trouble then nothing would be interesting would it?” he grinned, “What would you do if I wasn’t here to break you out of that same routine. As long as one only gets in a little trouble and not too much, then there’s nothing wrong. It’s just a bit of fun.”
Juan had never had a chance to be a child because he was always being forced to prepare for his future. Then he was changed before he could even reach adulthood. After being changed he had traveled too far and for too long without staying in one place. Juan had ignored emotions for the longest time and he had never had time for fun. But now he would. If he felt like harassing the police and driving them insane, then that’s what he was going to do. It was that simple.

"That's what I have my little daughter for." Maria said matter of factly. She was quickly learning with Karyn that things were never routine and always changing. She had been able to rouse herself up from slumbers earlier and earlier and staying up later into the sunlight, just aslong as she avoided the rays of light.
"But one might ask you, what exactly is too much? You seem to enjoy nearly letting the knowladge of us run rampant in this city." She took a sip of the hot drink as she set the mageziene down. "But I tell you that kind of trouble will end up getting you killed." She said in a very non-threataning, matter of fact manner. "There are those who love in this city, that have been around longer than you and I combind. They will not hesitate to kill you nor erasing the memories of the humans you tell."
She sighed before taking another sip. "I warn you brother, to not cross them." She had met these ancients... two of them. And their power terrified her. "So... You are of the Marcos family?" She asked. "What year?"
Juan - February 3, 2006 05:24 AM (GMT)
“What year?” he repeated, suddenly thoughtful, “As in the year of my birth? That was the year fifteen hundred and one. If I remember correctly, that was quite a long time ago.”
He seemed to ponder this for a moment and shook his head. It had been a very long time indeed. Juan had never made it back to see his parents. Then again, why should he? They were the reason he was even in South America. The vampire that turned him would not have had that opportunity had he not been there. Juan blinked, she had said something about ancients while he meandered off into his thought process.
“Ancients? There are still ancients around here?” he asked, “Perhaps I should look into joining a coven. I have had a few run-ins with them and they don’t seem to like independents too much. Do you know anything about the different covens around here?”

So he was eighteen years her senior...but he must have been turned fairly close to the year she was born into the human world, for he looked no older than eighteen in her eyes. But she could be wrong. Perhaps her own age.
"Yes there are many ancients in this place. I have felt their presence often. And there are those who are not ancients they are still powerful. And there is news of a hunter. One who does not tolerate those wo do nothing but attract attention to us. He has taken out four that I know of with the blessings of the Amman, the ancients." She said warily.
"It is not the independants they mind so much, but those who cause problems. And usualy the Covens have rules that members must abide by. Istar and myself are not members of the covens, but we do not cause any problems either." She said matter of factly as her eyes scanned the room. It was quiet, the shop would be closing in a few hours, everyone was already at home with family or alone. "But I cannot say I know much about the covens. My Sire was not affiliated with any one strongly, though I believe he was an anciend himself... one of the younger of them. He was powerful... But not invincible." She sipped again at the hot chocolate before resting her chin on her hand, leaning on the table. But be warned. There are some covens with harsh rules in place. Be sure you know what you want before making a commitment."
Juan - February 7, 2006 10:38 PM (GMT)
"I've never been very good with committments anyway," Juan replied, "But I was looking into the Tarepha. What's their reputation around here."
(Sorry for the delay in posting and the crappy short post. But I had a lot of work to do and then I couldn't think of anything.)
