Title: Friends Or Enemies?
Aspen Raen - January 18, 2006 05:16 AM (GMT)
Amara paced inside the empty room, her hands behind her back. She angrily cracked her knuckles. Another nervous habit of hers...
She wanted to talk to Danielle. The girl had tred over her territory. Amara knew she was angry for no reason. Danielle probably didn't know, but she should have. Not that it mattered. They hadn't been friends, but still...
Amara paced a few moments before deciding to call her. After all, she couldn't let her get away with it, hunting partner or no. She would tell her to back off and if she didn't...well, Amara would deal with her then.
"Danielle, come to me. I need to talk with you."
The communication was done telepathically, but still her voice was persuasive, sexy...as it always was. The girl would be there soon. At least Amara hoped.
((Sorry in a hurry, gtg))
Darkasian - January 18, 2006 05:34 AM (GMT)
Danielle was walking in the city near the abandoned warehouse when she heard Amara call for her telepathically. She was surprised because they hadn't spoken ever since Amara left her apartment. I'm on my way. She said telepathically as she made a detour to the abandoned warehouse. She was hungry, but there'd be time to feed later. She was wearing a black leather jacket over her black leather pants and black t-shirt. Danielle looked like a goth to a lot of people who walked by her. Whatever Amara needed to talk to her for had priority this night.
Danielle walked into the warehouse and found Amara in one of the empty rooms. "You need me?" It felt strange talking to her after not talking to her in what seemed to be years. "It's been a long time."
Aspen Raen - January 18, 2006 07:53 PM (GMT)
Amara continued to pace imatiently. She wore a long-sleeved white corset against black jeans. As usual bracelets decorated her arms up to her elbows. She ran a hand through her medium-length blonde hair and continued pacing. That was until she felt Danielle's presence.
Amara turned to face her, a hint of red anger gleaming in her eyes. It was lucky she had not yet fed, otherwise her anger might have had the best of her.
"Oh, you're here," she said slyly, "I expected you would come. Good...and yes it has been a while, but I'm not here to talk to you about that. It's about a girl. A mortal woman. Her name is Tiara. You met her a little while ago, I heard, yes?"
Amara's ocean blue eyes glowered at Danielle. If it was up to her, Danielle never would have touched the girl. Tiara belonged to Amara...
Darkasian - January 19, 2006 01:02 AM (GMT)
Danielle leaned against the wall listening to Amara. "Yes I have met a girl by that name." She grinned a little bit remembering the thrill of playing with her. "I was just having a little fun. I didn't hurt her that badly." She could tell Amara was pissed off about something. She didn't have to be a mindreader to figure that out by the look she gave Danielle.
Danielle didn't dare read Amara's mind in case it would provoke her even more. She respected Amara too much to invade the privacy of her mind...even though she did it before. "What about the girl?" Her grin faded from her face. "Is she under your protection?"
Aspen Raen - January 19, 2006 05:21 AM (GMT)
Amara's anger faded for a moment. She could tell that Danielle meant no harm, though she surely was remembering what the girl was like. Any vampire would. If Amara had chosen to take on Tiara, well, she knew it would be a thrilling night. But still...
"Yes, she is. She's my fledging...well, she will be. I just wanted to make that clear to you. I know you didn't harm her, but I know you had it in your mind to change her. She's an amazing girl, but I just wanted to warn you that the penalties will not be good if you come near her again."
Amara crossed her arms over her chest and watched Danielle, waiting to see what her response would be. Amara just gave her a challenge, not very many vampires would back down from a challenge. She hoped Danielle would. This was one matter she did not want to have to fight over. Tiara was hers, no one elses and Amara was intent on this...
Things would blow up if that changed.
Darkasian - January 19, 2006 05:41 AM (GMT)
Danielle shrugged as she listened to Amara. She thought Tiara would make a good vampire, but she had no intentions of turning her the night she confronted the girl. "I was just a little thirsty, and Tiara happened to be around." She looked at Amara like she didn't think it was that big of a deal. "I just thought it would be good for the girl to exercise a little bit." Danielle kept a straight face on. It wasn't hard since she didn't really care for the situation. "You have my word that I won't bother Tiara again." She didn't feel like getting into a fight with Amara. If Danielle knew that Amara picked Tiara out to be her fledgling then she wouldn't've touched her, but Amara didn't give her any warning.
Aspen Raen - January 19, 2006 05:51 AM (GMT)
Amara was surprised. Danielle sounded as if she didn't care. Her source had been wrong. She hadn't wanted to change the girl. Amara glared, feeling stupid, though the news was good news to her.
She supposed she knew that Danielle hadn't known about her claim on Tiara, but she had wanted someone to be angry with. In light of recent events, Amara was teetering on the brink of self-destruction...if it would help her escape the hold Vontae had on her.
She calmed, the fire in her eyes going out and suddenly Amara was tired. She sat down on the dirty floor, unaware of the dust build up in the empty room. Her eyes were tired, she was hungry. Because of stress she hadn't fed in days and she had changed. It was easy to see she wasn't herself.
"I know, Danielle. I'm sorry."
Woah, she was actually apologizing. She was feeling stupid...she was feeling emotion. Ugh, Amara hated her new perception. She wished she could go back to hating mortals and being angry all the time. That life-style suited her much better.
"I'm just frustrated and I didn't meant to take it out on you."
Still apologizing? What was with her.
"You can go if you would like."
Darkasian - January 19, 2006 01:32 PM (GMT)
Danielle was surprised when Amara apologized, it wasn't like her. She simply stayed where she was. She understood why Amara was angry, and Danielle felt she needed to make it up to her. "Do you mind having company hunting again?" She grinned looking at Amara. "Looks like you need to feed." Danielle was going to feed anyway. Having company while hunting simply made it more enjoyable for her.
If Amara said that she didn't want company then she'd go off by herself and find some mother and child. Sergei Konstantinov was quite the role model for her, especially when it came to feeding. He taught her the finer art of seeking out those who had something to look forward to; new mothers, graduating high school students, babies. Each time Danielle fed on one of those types of mortals was exhilirating for her.
Aspen Raen - January 20, 2006 08:36 PM (GMT)
Amara thought about the offer for a moment. It was in her better nature to say no, to disincline, but she trusted Danielle despite what it may have seemed that night.
She did need to feed, however she wasn't in the mood. She was tired and slightly weak from nights of worrying about what was going on with her and sleepless days. She didn't sleep that often anyway, but it had been over a week and no rest. Yes, hunting would be good for her. She supposed she would go.
"Yeah. Sounds fine," Amara replied, without grinning. Tonight the idea didn't seem as thrilling.
Darkasian - January 21, 2006 01:30 AM (GMT)
Danielle nodded noticing how Amara wasn't her usual self. "Are you alright?" She looked a little worried at her fellow vampiress. "You don't have to if you don't want to." Danielle would go feeding no matter what, but it was always more fun with someone else. She thought about a few of the things that happened to her over the past couple of weeks, but returned to the present. She waited for Amara's answer.
Aspen Raen - January 21, 2006 03:57 AM (GMT)
Amara stood still for a moment, debating once more whether or not she wanted to go and of course she did. Blood was her lust, her love...and it would be her downfall. She needed it to survive, but most of all she needed it to prove to herself that she was still in control.
Running her fingers through her bright hair, she nodded, her blue eyes alight with a new fire, one that suggested thirst and a readiness to kill.
"If not now, then never. Let's go."
With that Amara pushed past Danielle, leading the way from the warehouse and out onto the night streets. Abondoned, practically. Cloudy night, it was a perfect night for a hunt.
Darkasian - January 21, 2006 11:19 PM (GMT)
Danielle nodded as she listened to Amara. A grin grew on her face as her body bristled with the anticpation of the hunt. "Well put Amara!" She followed Amara into the streets of Demaitre. "Let the hunt begin." Danielle said as she caught the scent of their prey. She could smell two mortals, but couldn't tell much else, because they were pretty far away.
Aspen Raen - January 22, 2006 12:20 AM (GMT)
Amara's mind had now become fully consumed with the hunt, though she felt Danielle's presence next to her. Both of them picked up on a scent and she smiled. The scent was stronger to her, because they contained wild emotions. Two humans, one female one male, arguing. They were lovers, arguing over something petty. What better time to end their lives than this? Knowing that they never got to say "I'm sorry."
"Ahh, yes. Let the hunt began. I can smell their fear already."
Amara's eyes lit up and she began to feel like herself. It was nice to be back to being Amara again. Mortal emotions were confusing, this was her true nature.
Darkasian - January 22, 2006 12:39 AM (GMT)
Danielle grinned as she probed the mortals's minds. Mortals were pathetic. "I want the female this time." She quickly moved in front of Amara. She remembered the last time in which she got the male. She moved faster than either of the mortals could see, and grabbed the female by the throat. "Good evening my love." She whispered into the girl's ear licking her neck. "Well aren't you just to die for?"
Aspen Raen - January 22, 2006 05:33 AM (GMT)
Amara smiled, "You can have the female. Tonight, I'm after the male. Beastly creatures they are. Confusing and betraying, aren't you lovie?"
She hissed and walked a circle around him while Danielle held the female. The male didn't look afraid. Of course not, two females, two very sexy females didn't seem so dangerous to him. He was very pissed though, at being interrupted, at his girlfriend. Amara liked anger, she thirsted off of it. The female, though, was clearly afraid. Maybe she was a believer.
She ran a nail over his neck, watching as the blood rose to his cheeks in anger. He was about to say something, but she stopped him by putting her hand over his mouth.
"Don't speak. You'll ruin it."
With that she was behind him in a flash, grabbing his arm in a move she had learned in karate, she made him fall to his knees.
"Just watch while your pretty girlfriend's life fades from her eyes."
Her free hand covered his mouth, making it impossible to speak and hard to breathe.
Darkasian - January 22, 2006 06:11 AM (GMT)
Danielle grinned from ear to ear as she nuzzled the mortal's neck. "You smell quite delicious." She let her fangs scrape playfully against the girl's neck. She sensed the girl's fear, and relished in it. "Don't say a word my love." She said as she dug her fangs into the girl's soft flesh letting the blood flow into her mouth. Danielle carressed the girl and felt her body sag into her own. She looked at Amara and the male for a second, and proceeded to drain the girl.
The girl's blood was so sweet that it was intoxicating. Danielle had to force herself to stop, because of the fear of drinking dead blood. She wiped a little blood from the side of her mouth, and watched as the girl slipped into a state of unconsciousness. The blood was still flowing from the two little punctures in her neck. It was almost over for the mortal. "Well that was quite tasty." She said as she cleaned any remnants of blood from her mouth.
Aspen Raen - January 22, 2006 08:05 PM (GMT)
Amara let her hand slip from his mouth, while he watched in horror as his lover's blood was drained from her body. Her hand still held tight to his chin, forcing him to watch her as she died.
As soon as Danielle let the girl drop and turned to face Amara, she smiled and snapped at the male.
"Stand up."
He did as he was told, hoping that somehow he would be able to save is pitiful life.
"Poor thing," she said walking around so that she was in front of him, "You never got to tell her that you loved her. She never knew, did she? You guys were always too busy fighting and now, she too dead to even hear you."
Amara clicked her tongue and shook her head as the male's gaze went to the floor. She lifted his head up by his jaw, with enough force to break it. She didn't though. Instead she let him stare into her eyes, the eyes that read his every thought...and the woman that was soon to take his life.
"Before I do the same to you, I want to tell you the name of your murderer. You deserve that much. I am Amara, and this here is Danielle."
Those were the last words he heard as she brutally pierced his neck with her fangs. She didn't try to calm him as he fought against her, she wasn't going to be kind and make it painless for him. She wanted him to feel the pain, she lived off the fear that came from him and the pain made hers disappear.
His blood was not as sweet as a female's blood, but it was strong and would give her much more strength. Enough to keep her fully charged for a while. She let his body drop to the ground as she drained most of it. His breathing was shallow and she waited until she felt his heart had almost stopped pumping what little blood he had left. She then pricked her finger with her tooth and let the blood fall onto the wound left by her bite marks. She did the same with the girl. The wounds would heal, but they would die and no one would know what happened.
"Ja, tasty indeed," she finally responded to Danielle, "Not to mention refreshing."
Darkasian - January 22, 2006 09:14 PM (GMT)
Danielle trembled with delight as she watched the male mortal shed his mortal coils. "Well i enjoyed that very much." She knealt down next to the girl and brushed the hair from her face. Mortals were always most beautiful when they died. "It's amazing how female mortals are most beautiful when they die." She closely looked at the girl's face as her breathing stopped. "She might've been good to turn." She sighed and stood up. "Waste of something so beautiful."
Aspen Raen - January 23, 2006 03:32 AM (GMT)
Amara nodded as Danielle said she might have made a good turn.
"She certainly is beautiful, but she doesn't have the heart for it. Or I should say she doesn't have an absence of heart. She would be a softy."
Amara winced, the idea clearly disgusting her. "Then again, I guess most of us were when we were turn. I on the other hand, already hated most of humankind."
She smiled to herself, thinking about the foolish days during the war. She definately didn't like humankind. It wasn't just the jews she hated, she just targeted them at the moment, went along with what was happening. Her views, though, were slowly beginning to change. She wished they wouldn't. Mortal emotions disgusted her, but something in her couldn't control it. Tonight though had been a lifter. She loved the thrill of the kill and was glad to see she had not lost that little piece of herself.
Amara licked her lips, the remaining blood she savored on her tongue for a moment before swallowing it and allowing it to movely slowly down her throat. Nothing compared to that taste, nothing but the taste of a female's blood.
"So, what now, Danielle?"
Darkasian - January 23, 2006 03:48 AM (GMT)
Danielle thought she almost had an orgasm, but quickly hid it. "You're right, she would've ended up a softy." She shuddered thinking of her spawn, Joe. She cared for him, but now he joined an ancient, and hated her. She would have to pay him a visit, but she didn't have time to worry about him. She wasn't as weak as Joe, but she was definitely weaker than she was now. The older she got the stronger she became. "Well I'd offer to go back to my place, but how about just going for a little walk? It'll do both of us good." She sighed leaning down and lightly kissing the dead mortal female.
Aspen Raen - January 23, 2006 03:58 AM (GMT)
Amara nodded as Danielle suggested a walk. It would do them both good. Amara still had the urge to hunt, but not because she was hungry. She wasn't so cruel, though, as to hunt just for the thrill.
Amara waited while Danielle kissed the girl goodbye. She admired the human's beauty as well. She was part of what was left of the true beauty of the the world...she was a piece of artwork in herself.
She also admired Danielle, who was much more like Amara than Amara had orignally thought. She remembered their meeting. She had hated her, but her talent for music had intrigued her and now here she was, hunting with her for a second time.
"I would like to hear you play again. I love the way you play..." Amara said softly as they began to walk.
Darkasian - January 23, 2006 04:22 AM (GMT)
Danielle nodded as she listened to Amara. "Yes I find playing quite soothing, maybe we should stop by my apartment to pick up my violin." She walked with Amara smiling at her. She regretted leaving that girl there. If it was possible she'd take the dead mortal back and keep her as a kind of monument, but she didn't want to draw unnecessary attention to herself.
Aspen Raen - January 24, 2006 09:02 PM (GMT)
Amara nodded, a dry smiling coming to her lips. It wasn't genuine, as she had lately been smiling kindly and truly. It felt good to be herself, to be full of hate and admiration all at once. Hate for human beings and admiration for the world that they had created. After all, she had died the tips of her hair red to fit in with the rock band groupies a coupld years back.
"The violin was something that humans got right..."
Amara fell silent as she walked beside Danielle, though she could easily fly them to her place, but she wanted to walk. She remembered Danielle's house and was looking forward to seeing it again. She was going to rent an apartment soon.
"What's wrong Danielle?" Amara asked suddenly, sensing the girl's distress.
"You want to bring her with you?"
Amara could almost hear her thoughts, but she didn't pry. It was more like a feeling she picked up on, but she knew Danielle couldn't bring the dead body. Something like that would be hard to hide.
Darkasian - January 24, 2006 10:03 PM (GMT)
Danielle smiled wearily at Amara. "Yes, but of course it would look pretty strange if I had a dead girl displayed in my living room." She kept on walking though she did feel better getting it off her shoulders. "Yes mortals seem to always be better at creating instruments than anything else." She looked up at the sky. "Though this modern music is simply horrible."
Aspen Raen - January 24, 2006 10:08 PM (GMT)
"Yes, I suppose that might look pretty suspicious indeed."
Amara laughed, thinking about today's modern music. She had been in a band, not a few years back. A rock band that she played guitar in, just a local band and she had fit in pretty well. She liked modern music, though she hated rap and R&B. Really she liked anything heavy, as well as classical music, but she didn't like music that talked about drugs or sex...depending on the context on the sex part. Violence was a nessicity. That's how she lived her life.
"I don't think they have had a true instrument creation in a long time, though I like modern music, well just some. What is it you don't like about todays music?"
Darkasian - January 24, 2006 10:36 PM (GMT)
Danielle looked at Amara and nodded. "I don't like how it's become more yelling and talking about how many women they fucked. I prefer simple instrumental music." She sighed remembering her family of musicians. "Classical music is the only music I listen to." It felt good to walk with the Amara she met the first time. "I see you're feeling more like yourself Amara."
Aspen Raen - January 24, 2006 11:24 PM (GMT)
Amara nodded, remembering Danielle had said this before.
"I like classical as well, though my favorite instrumental piece has to be by Metallica."
She fell into thought, blood lust suddenly building up again. She forced it down or she would have to hunt again that night. She had been avoiding hunting for a while, partially because of Tiara, but she couldn't very well protect the girl if she was weak.
Besides, this night had enabled her to remember the power that blood gave her...the power she craved.
"Yes. I just hadn't fed in a while..."
She didn't say much more on the subject, though her mind continued to dwell on it. She didn't know how much longer she could keep doing that...caring for a human being.
"So, how far are we from your place."
Amara knew, but she wanted to find something to talk about...she couldn't think of anything else when her mind was set on finding another victim.
Darkasian - January 25, 2006 06:39 AM (GMT)
Danielle nodded listening to Amara. "Metallica is actually one of the few metal bands I like." She thought about some other things she liked. "It might sound funny, but I've come to enjoy techno." She laughed a little nervously. Danielle looked at the street sign and thought about how many blocks they had left. "Got four more blocks." She said feeling better with Amara around. "Thanks for walking with me. It's been a while since I've had good company."
