Title: A Little Innocent Fun
Description: >For Rin<

Amara stepped of the subway, slightly disgusted with her surroundings. The city was always dirty, full of filth and human garbage. They were more like animals, than even she was...and she truly was an animal, living only on blood lust. She couldn't believe they lived like this and for once she regreted not getting her own apartment. To live and sleep where others have, even in a motel or such, disgusted her. Who knows what kind of filth they kept in there.

She stepped over a drunk lying down across a row of beat up cushions, probably waiting for the subway, or some money. The day had been long. Amara had been sick and unable to sleep. Rarely did Amara get sick, but it must have been bad blood and now she was in the mood to hunt, but she would wait until less people were around. For now, she thought she might start by attracting her prey. Innocent fun...as always, that is until it gets violent...which was the real fun of the night.

Amara pulled her jacket tight around her, as if to keep out the cold, though she felt none. She didn't wear her army jacket that night. It didn't really attract many men...or women for that matter, except for the type she wasn't interested in killing...those like her. She looked very feminine, though she had an eery beauty around her. Her blonde hair was curled at the ends and she wore a very nice cotton jacket. It was black of course, since she preferred not to wear color. Dark red lipstick painted her lips, a stark contrast to her pale skin and her blue eyes were lined in black, which made them sparkle and pop out. For the first time in a while, she had not worn jeans. She wore a pair of black pants and a red halter top with it. She looked as if she had just come from dinner or was going to it.

But as she went up the steps to exit the subway, a familiar voice called her and she turned disgusted. It had been a while since she had seen him and she preferred not to deal with him right now.

"Nice to see you, Vontae."

He snarled and reached up grabbing her arm. For the first time in a long time, Amara was scared for her life and without a word, he pulled her up the stairs. She had no choice but to oblige and follow him. For one, she wasn't going to make a scene here, and two she knew he was much stronger than she and she would not be able to get rid of him on her own.

The air was cool against her skin, it swept back the soft curls of her honey colored hair bringing the scent of promised snow with it. Annette had never seen a night so dark, the headlights and even the streetlights were dimmed by the slight fog. The sidewalk she stepped over was moist and almost slippery. Pumps never did well in situations like that. These were red velvet which matched her outfit entirely. Red velvet gown, red coat with a collar of brown fur and a dainty silk ribbon around her slim waist which by the way was red also. A date was her excuse for this fancy get up, wether or not there really was one is still being debated.

There came a pause in the clicking of heels against concrete as those brown eyes happened to glance towards the entrance to the subway. And curious as she often was she watched as the two came up the stairs, pulling herself back and out of sight.

Vontae pulled her up the stairs. She could already feel the bruises forming on her arms and only a strong vampire could leave another one bruises. They hurt and she whimpred in pain. How had she managed to get away from him the first time? She was a badass, or she tried to be one, except for when it came to Vontae. He was older than she knew...her sire. She had been running for years and why now? Why did he have to find her now? She hid her fear, knowing that he would feel it anyway. Too bad no one was out this late, otherwise she could scream and he would run, not wanting to blow cover. But she did feel someone's eyes on them, watching. Vontae was too preoccupied to feel it, though she knew he would notice sooner or later.

"Come back to play have you? I think you are about 75 years too late, lovie," she teased, "You're not hoping to win me back now are you? Because this certainly isn't the way to do it."

Vontae stopped, yanking on her arm and pulling her around so their faces were only inches apart.

"Oh no, dearie. I've been watching you, following you...waiting for your weakest point and I have found it. When a vampire starts thinking about the morality of killing their prey, well then...there is something seriously wrong. I've come to straighten you out."

Amara bit her lip, her fangs showing. That didn't sound very nice to her at all. She couldn't believe he had been following her...no...that was something she refused to believe. How could she not know? Then she realized...that was the reasons her thoughts felt clouded at times. Because he was trying to get into her mind. She hadn't felt him now, because he was right...she was too distracted.

"Let go of me you sick bastard."

She tried to pull away from him, but his grip was tight and she felt him pulling her fear out of her...trying to make it consume her. It worked for a moment and she suddenly couldn't think. She didn't know what to do. The old familiar feeling returned. Her eyes softened, only for a moment, and she had the urge to do what he said.

"My, you are as beautiful as always," Vontae buried his face in her hair taking, remembering her scent. "Now, be a dearie and come with me."

Yikes.

Annette felt herself start to turn away but stopped. She'd had been in a position like that once before and someone had helped her, it felt wrong somewhere deep down to just leave. Turning the corner from which she hid behind she now stood very much visible. Standing there though it only took her seconds to realize how very much unthreatening she looked now dressed like this and looking very much like some china doll.

Thier words reached her ears and she paused. "She's right ... you are a sick bastard." Her words came softly, but even over the wind and the sound of the city rising with it, she knew they heard her.

Amara turned, just barely a second after Vontae, to the woman's voice she had heard. He was caught of guard and let go of her. She fled, going the the woman's side, tenderly rubbing her arm. The look she saw in his eyes told her to flee, but she had done that many times already. He would catch, her she knew...so for now she had to take him down. At least long enough for her to make a plan. She would not leave the city again. Her fear was overwhelming, but then she remembered how it used to be. She knew his weaknessess and given some time she could put them in to play. For now, she just needed a way to get out of the area.

"Honestly, you should have stayed hidden," Amara whispered to the woman, "But I thank you all the same."

She looked back at Vontae, his red eyes staring back at her. The danger in them showed that he had just fed and he was strong. One advantage she had over him was that, his blood, and the blood of many others had made her stronger than she ever had been. She just hadn't learned to control her powers yet. But Vontae only came after her time and again because he knew she was threat. He should have never sired her. He knew he would never again be able to control her...unless he killed her.

"What are you going to do, lovie? You've spent all this time searching for me, now what are you going to do now that you've found me?"

He advanced on her. His hate was a weakness, as well as his love for her. He hated and both loved her and the rage he felt now distracted him. Amara closed her eyes and forced her way into his mind. He cried out and fell to his knees, but she knew it would only hold him for a second. What now could she do?

Vontae laughed at the girls, both very foolish and both very wrong in their assumptions. Vontae was there to protect his lovely rebel, Amara. He was no sick bastard, but she needed him and she knew that.

"On the contrary, dearie I have come to save you from your foolish mortal emotions. You left me too soon and you have been having trouble using your powers haven't you?"

He spoke to soon. He was distracted by the presence of the other and she invaded his mind. A deadly blow, though she wasn't strong enough to use it that way. He fell to his knees, momentarily blinded by pain. It didn't last long and he stood up, laughing.

"Foolish child. You should know that two can play that game. Tsk tsk. I surprised you forgot how much stronger I am than you."

With incredible speed he rushed towards her, grabbing her by the throat.

"You will come back to me, you know you will."

He let her go, for the moment and watched as she fell the ground. He then tipped his hat and was gone. There was nothing that would stop him from getting her back. He would find her later. He always did.

(I'm sorry for taking so long to reply)

Annette stood there in silence as the so-named Vontae left. She could have stopped him, she was skilled enough she could have possibly held back those threats. Could have. She knelt beside the girl carefully. "You shouldn't be alone out here." her voice was kept soft as if whispering would help any.

"Where do you live? I'll walk back with you if you want." Those brown eyes held an expression of concern somewhere deep within as she stood and extended a hand to the vampire. "My name is Annette."

Amara pushed herself up, her arms shaking as she touched her throat, afraid for her life. Why did he effect her so? Her eyes rested on the girl that was speaking to her, thanking her silently.

"I don't have a home yet. It's never safe to settle down when you know someone is chasing after her. Thank you again, your presence saved my undead life."

She watched the girl for a moment. So her name was Annette. That was nice. She sighed to herself, wandering what in the hell she was thinking. Vontae was right, she had gone soft. All the same...

"Amara," she said, letting her name ring out in the silence.
