Title: Graveyard Friends

Morrigan - November 1, 2005 03:58 PM (GMT)
"There it is," the vampire said, pointing at the resturant a block away. Bliss and his new acquaintance, Aspen Raen, had meet at the graveyard and decided to dine at Squisito. Bliss was haunting the entrance to his coven when he noticed Raen grieving at a grave. Normally, he would have drained the mortal on the spot, but he was not himself tonight. Worrying about Morrigan had him distracted. He dared to speak to Raen and then he was hooked. He could not bring himself to kill her now that he saw her as a person.

They had walked the whole way, since it was not far, at least by Bliss' standards. His main concern was getting Raen away from the coven house. She was safer...with him. He could not bear to watch another vampire kill her, or try to explain why he had not killed her.

Safer...with me? He looked at Raen, grinning, hiding his confused thoughts. I am no safer than the others! His bright eyes stare at her, captivated. Half of him wanted to bit her pretty neck, take her warm blood in, and watch her fall into eternal sleep. She would remain forever beauty and pure. His other half wanted to keep her alive for the same reason. To suck the life out of a rose was ugly. He sighed, turning his face back to Squisito.

Aspen smiled and skipped a bit, like a child would on her way to a circus or the like. She hadn't minded the walk at all, it had given her time to think.

"How exciting!" She couldn't stop the smile on her face, to have company tonight was nice. She turned to look at him, hoping he wouldn't notice. He was so beautiful, handsome, she corrected herself. He was handsome. Beautiful was just what she thought of when she thought of the angel Gabriel, and that's who he reminded her of. An angel...

She stopped suddenly and tore her gaze from his handsome face. They had only just met, in a graveyard of all places. It was best for her to stay away from thoughts like those.
Best not get too attached, girly... She looked away from him just as he looked towards her, but not without giving him a pretty smile first. She didn't want him to see her thoughts on her face. That was never good.

"So, what kind of food do they have there?" She asked as they got a bit closer.

Aspen's smile warmed Bliss' heart a little. He smiled back, letting his gaze remain on her. He noticed the skip in her steps and was glad. The graveyard was a glooming place; he did not want the sorrow to follow them.

"They serve Italian food. It's excellent," Bliss told her, licking his lips. He was glad that he could consume human food. It was another gift he gained from Morrigan's blood. And, thankfully, he could have garlic.

"So, are you new to the city?" Bliss asked, wanting to know Aspen better.

((ooc: Sorry for the short post! Having an off day.))

Aspen Raen - November 3, 2005 08:35 PM (GMT)
Aspen licked her lips.
"Yum, Italian. I should have guessed from the name." She loved Italian food. Well really, she loved all sorts of food, but Italy was a romantic city and so was the food. She smiled to herself as she thought of the Lady and the Tramp scene, but she knew that wasn't why she was there with Bliss. It was a friendly date.

"Actually," she said in answer to his question, "I've lived here since I was just over sixteen. I stay home for the most part, writing. I'm working as a journalist here in the city while I write another book. Journalism is really only a past time for me, as well as a way to earn a bit of extra cash that I really don't need."

She looked back up at him as they walked. She always felt selfish talking about herself so she turned the subject back on him, plus it was always good to learn about a stranger you meet in a graveyard.

"How about you? How long have you been here? What do you do?"

((It's okay, I was like that yesterday. What's wrong?))
