Ravenwing - August 8, 2005 10:52 PM (GMT)
The ride to the forest had been boring. Ravenwing met no-one on the way, and truthfully was glad of that. e had dressed as any other horseman would back home. Jeans, shirt, and his Stetson were all he needed. The stallion had been eager to go as well as the man. Once out of the corral, he had pranced around, delaying the coming ride as Ravenwing attempted to get the horse saddled. Now, as the sun began to set, Ravenwing turned the stallion to an overgrown trail and entered the woods.

Peace descended within the woods. The wind stirred the leaves to talking and once in a while a bird called as the man and horse walked further in. Ravenwing held teh reins loosely in his hand as teh horse made it's way to the water it smelled ahead. As it got dark, Ravenwing and the horse found the water in a small clearing. The river tumbled over a couple of rock outcroppings to form a small falls here. Ravenwing took the time to gather wood and make a small fire before tending the stallion.

A short time later, the camp was set. The stallion was grazing near the river, were the grass appealed to him more. A blanket was spread near the fire ready for Ravenwing. Ravenwing had traded the jeans and shirt for more traditional clothing. A simple headband supporting a handfull on feathers held back his long black hair. A loincloth took care of decency, as well as giving him a place to hang the knife. And finally, a worn pair of mocassins protected his feet. Placed on the ground near to hand was his bow, and a quiver of arrows, some graphite, some wood shafted.

Ravenwing listened to the sounds around him, his stallion moving, the tree leaves fluttering, the river tumbling over the outcroppings. All these sounds would be normal. He looked at the fire, watching the ocassional spark leaping into the night air, only to be snuffed out as it cooled. Tonight, he would forget about the town, and the odd happenings there and remember his people. He stared into the flames and called to his brother the raven and waited for him to come.

It didn't take long, the raven always knew where he was. Soon, Ravenwing was with his brother soaring far above tthe land. Every once in awhile, the two would dive down to see something that the raven wanted to show, then they climbed back into the sky to continue their journey. Ravenwing was shown many things, he even spoke to his grandfather for a bit. Finally, the raven returned him to the clearing.

Ravenwing opened his eyes and looked at the embers of the little fire. He raised a hand and lifted the raven from his shoulder. Thank you my brother. And he tossed the raven to the air. Within a few beats of his wings, the raven returned to the woods.

Ravenwing added more wood to the fire, and stoked it back into life. He then set his bow and arrows beside the blanket, wrapped himself into the blanket and closed his eyes.

Aracind - August 9, 2005 01:29 PM (GMT)
The shady figure with his back against the tree watched Ravenwing, they had met before but he would not rouse him at this moment in time. A cigarette was lit in the dark and all that could be seen was the smoking cherry held by a dark silhouette. His smartly dressed clothes now all stained in blood from a recent confrontation he had just had, his sleek black hair no long back, but instead it hung down his face. Like Edward Hyde.

He slowly moved forward not snapping any branches as he did so. Moving like a weightless feather the figure came close to the campfire and felt its warmth and bliss. Fire creates life but it also destroys it.

Camping, how dangerous since your last escapade He thought to himself but did not rouse the boy at all. Taking a drag from his cigarette the figure floated over the face of Ravenwing and took in his whole beauty. The man smirked silently to himself. No one trusted him anymore since the mansion incident. He was not to be trusted it was sure, but deep within his core was a poor vampire trying to escape.

But he would not let it

Moving backwards towards the tree he smoked his cigarette and watched the calm Ravenwing slumber so peacefully.

Ravenwing - August 10, 2005 01:55 AM (GMT)
Eyes closed, Ravenwing tried to figure out what was bothering his stallion. The stallion had begun to stamp every now and then. Some might ignore the actions, as the stallion was not making any hostile oves, but this was how Ravenwing trained im. Ravenwing carefully breathed in through his nose. Nothing to worry about. He listened to the sounds around him. No night noises were to be heard. That made it easy for Ravenwing to listen, however, there was no noise that was out of place.

Of course, the stallion could be only worried about a snake. Ravenwing listened a little while longer. Finally, Ravenwing figured that there was no danger. He sat up and loked at the fire. A small branch lay nearby and Ravenwing picked it up and stirred the coals at the edges. Ravenwing eard the stallion stamp again and rose to see him. Fire blind, he did not see the glow from the cigerette at the edge of the woods. Ravenwing lead the stallion to another side of the fire and checked him over. Finally, he returned to the fire and added a few more branches to the fire.

Ravenwing wrapped the blanket around himself as he sat by the fire. No longer willing to sleep, he stared into the fire.

Aracind - August 11, 2005 11:15 AM (GMT)
It was all quiet once again, he saw Ravenwing lead the horse to the one said of the fire, and go back to sleep. He had no idea of Aracind's presence, how odd. Moving closer now Aracind stepped on each twig in a perfect motion of speed. He did not care if he roused the boy now. He had always loved to watch them; Ravenwing had always been one of Aracind's favourites. From the start when he had introduced himself to him he had the urge to watch him, to see what he was doing and to follow his train of the thought.

He sat now beside the boy whilst he was snugly asleep, the campfire crackled incessantly, with a trick or two with the mind he levitated a few pieces of wood to aid the boy, to see if it would burn longer and keep him warm. He watched his face, and went out to touch his hair but refrained himself for a moment longer.

Touching his tie he pushed it inside his jacket, anyone would have thought Aracind was freezing but it was not this way, he was an immortal, and this effected him not. Sitting with his legs crossed he continued to smoke his cigarette that seemed to last on forever, or maybe the space of time had been very quick he could not tell.

Ravenwing was half asleep, he could awake at any moment, it did not bother Aracind however, he had always loved the boy and he would watch him for a while longer before he would depart.

Ravenwing - August 12, 2005 02:45 AM (GMT)
(( OCC Ok, I guess I'll be asleep then :) ))

The gentle crackle of the fire as it burned, lulled Ravenwing to sleep again. However, it was not a deep sleep. Then it began. Small noisies of something moving rapidly. The stallion snorted once as if to say I told you so. Ravenwing just sat there, slumped over as if still asleep.

Small sounds like the sound of the man's jacket sleeve, told Ravenwing that his arm approached. It also told him that it withdrew as well. So far, it seemed as if the man did not mean harm this night.

From under the edges of the blanket, Ravenwing spoke. Most people would ask permission to enter the camp where I come from. Course, some allowances must be made for the fact that we just ain't in my backyard anymore. Ravenwing slowly looked up and over to see who was near him. Well, this is a surprise. I guess you didn't get killed off after all.

Ravenwing well remembered that night and how Aracind had looked on as if he expected the events that transpired. He also remembered how the man had acted as all those people had died. Ravenwing thought about slipping his knife out and letting the honed steel slide across the vampires neck till it bit into bone, but it was not in his nature to start a fight without cause, and right now, Aracind appeared to have a far different agenda than the last time Ravenwing saw him.

So why do you need a party like that one was? I would have thought that ya'll were more into sneaking around, nibbling on a neck, and then disappearing without anyone knowing. Instead you invited a town, and slaughtered people. Not for food, but fun. Why?

Maybe now, he would get some answers to his questions.

Aracind - August 12, 2005 09:13 AM (GMT)
Aracind had stopped in his tracks; he did not run like some coward or fight Ravenwing as a mindless barbarian. No he listened to what he had to say with an attentive ear. Puffing from his cigarette he devoured what information he could from within his mind until he finished speaking.

"Ravenwing" Aracind approached him and sat down by the fire "I am a scientist of the vampire world, I judge what consequences will come out of what actions. I was curious you could say, as to what would happen if I spilled the hundreds of mortals onto the street with the knowledge of the attacking vampires. The one who did the attacking though, Bastet, is long gone I’m afraid. Cut down by the Amman. I would to go even as far as to call her my friend. But her sacrifice was necessary for my cause" He stared into the bewitching fire, how he had loathed fires from the moment of creation, how they could destroy a vampire so easily.

"It is true, many would like to see me dead, but I have been in hiding and now it is time to come out once again, I long to have coffee with the one that per suede me on my own rooftops" He paused and gazed at the boy, he remembered the first time he had opened his eyes to the vampire world, and he was proud of it.

"You have been awfully quiet my child, are you still breathing?" He lit another cigarette in his mouth and waited for Ravenwing’s reply.

Ravenwing - August 12, 2005 11:06 PM (GMT)
Ravenwing listened to Aracind's explination. At the end, he was staring through the fire at nothing. So many innocent lives. And for what? A vampire's curiousity?

Ravenwing looked back at Aracind. So what have you learned that was worth all those lives? Can it be that you are nothing more than an animal? But no, an animal kills for need, not to test an idea, or to get a reaction. Humans are the only one's that kill for the sake of killing. So does that prove that you are human?

Ravenwing shook his head and got up, letting the blanket fall around his feet. I fail to see the point in setting up a slaughter. There's no honor in it. And if you wanted to see the consiquences, wouldn't it been better to find a gang of thugs and do the same thing to them? At least you would have helped society as well as seen the results.

But I guess that just isn't in your nature. Let's try to guess what would have happened if your version of the cops didn't come along and help correct your error. A town that vampires are established in has a huge slaughter. The cops report that the killings are strange and because so many families want answers, the cops deliver. Now, you have people hunting for anything with fangs. You decided to go to a park and get a snack. As you start to feed, several people jump you. You see, they set you up. Now, they mess you up pretty bad, and now the vampires are known. How long does it take a town to search for the vampires? Angry mothers and fathers searching every place around to get the "mad killers".

How do you survive if you are now hunted? Shear weight in numbers could bring you down. Doubt me? Look at the Veitnam war. The US threw everything except nukes at the North Veitnamese, yet they still came on. They had the advantage due to will and numbers. We only had the advantage in technology. The government decided that it was better to limit what we did and that cost us. Who won?

If you continue to kill us to get your food, or pleasure, or what ever you think is important, then one day, you are going to see the sun again. One day, someone will find you. Better to sneak around, and do like ome were doing at that party. Don't kill, change what the victum thinks happened, and let your prey feel no danger. Ravenwing stood across the fire from Aracind. The heat from the fire was only getting up to his waist. It seemed really chilly otherwise, or maybe it seemed chilly because he realized that here was a being far more powerful than himself, and he had just told him he was wrong. Oh well nothing ventured, nothing gained. The stallion had come up behind Ravenwing and was now nudging his shoulder. Ravenwing scratched the stallions neck while watching Aracind.

Aracind - August 12, 2005 11:17 PM (GMT)
"Have you finished your little memorable speech" Aracind’s words where blunt and angered. "You really have no idea do you? You think that the vampire nation is an evil one, but you are blinded by your own pathetic need to play the hero"

He flung his hand into the fire exposing his open palm, immediately the fire stopped and smoke and ashes engulfed the air. Stepping into the smouldering wreck Aracind glared at the boy with piercing evil eyes before tilting his spectacles downwards slightly to gaze upon the mortal with so much gaul.

"You ARE brave child, I shall give you that, but unfortunately bravery comes with foolishness. And you are blinded by your ideas of a politically and ethically correct world. Open your eyes boy, did all the mortals in all of the countless wars that you mortals have had die with an agenda? Where they all 'thugs and criminals'" He moved closer "NO!" His vampire projection shook the ground around them nearly deafening Ravenwing he was sure.

"But yet you criticise one instance of mortal slaughter but the relentless and never ending of mortal killing mortal will never end. Do not pose for me your ethics boy, for they are misplaced.

Ravenwing - August 13, 2005 12:34 AM (GMT)
Hero? Interesting word that. As far as heros go, I would be far down the list, most likely not on the list at all. Besides, a hero is only in the perception of the person that views him.

Ravenwing smiled and stepped closer. Nice trick. Does that make you a magician? Not likely. Not to me anyway. However, do that trick among hundreds and you would have all the applause you could stand. And as for the ideal both politically, and morally, again that is a view of one. You see, we have finite lives, and during those short spans of time, we try to find our utopia in some small way. Do I expect that utopia? No! But that doesn't stop me from trying to get there.

Ravenwing sat down and stirred the ashes of the fire. Then he quitely spoke again. Death is serious for us mortals. For some of us, life is too damn precious to waste on whims, or foolish notions of superiority. Ravenwing loked up again. Aracind, I think you have lived so long, you forgot what mortallity means. The fight to live has seeped out of you over the years until you feel we are beneath your notice unless you want to notice. It's a shame that you forgot. You accept death as a friend because you no longer have a need to fear it. We on the other hand, think of death as an enemy. One that must be fought. We know death. We expect it. And in most cases, we wish for it to be a peaceful passing.

Of course, man is foolish. Some lead others to foolishness, and others get led. Most of us try to find the right path and go down it. Some are right, others wrong. But they try. That night, you decided to take away all paths for those that came for a party. Were they aware of what was to happen? Was there a warning? No. You deceived to get your experiment. Of course, that would normally make you no worse than a politician, however, you ended those lives like a dictator. No choice. No way out.

Now every apple tree has a few rotten apples that are laying around it, but most are good. As the apple tree, I figure that the same holds true for most everything. If I told you that most of my friends killed other people, does that make us murders? Maybe, but that could fall back to the hero thing. Of course, if I tell you that those we killed had tortured and killed innocent people, that would change your opinion maybe. However, Those that killed the innocent for their own gain? Those are the rotten apples. But even rotten apples have a place you see. They are already breaking down, getting ready to feed the tree with the mineral that were used to create them. A criminal might turn a new leaf and teach others how to protect themselves, maybe use their skills to protect others as well. As for you, it is for you to decide if you are to be the apple lieing on the ground, ready to help the tree, or will you find a way to avoid what is natural once again?

Aracind - August 15, 2005 09:06 PM (GMT)
"An apple tree is good for nothing" His words where cold and full of malice and hatred. Dare that boy speak to him in this manner; it was insulting to his culture.
"There are thousands striking at the tree of evil, but one who strikes at the root" This debate was long winded and unimportant to Aracind for this mortal was debating on terms that where not even a good basis for conversation.

"You impress me my boy, very good debating skills I like that" He pushed his glasses up and moved a strand of black hair to the side. "I respect that on terms you are not a murderer, but humanity has been corrupted, ever since the fall in Eden has the entire human race been doomed, and soon it will meet its fate" He stood up and placed his arms behind his back and held his hands there.

"You see Ravenwing, we vampires are fallen angels, sent forth onto this earth to judge the mortals and scorn the wicked." He turned back to face him "I have never killed an innocent in my life, and this is true, the killing that evening was all performed by Bastet and her company" He turned back and touched the branches of the tree. "Never would innocent blood touch my lips" He paused "Sinners always taste so much better"

Ravenwing - August 15, 2005 10:02 PM (GMT)
Ravenwing saw a likely peice of wood in the remnants of the fire and pulled it out as Aracind talked. It had been awhile since he was able to just voice his opinion and he sure had missed it. Course, the wood grabbed his attention as well so, carefully, so as not to give the wrong impression, Ravenwing pulled his knife from the sheath and started scraping the bark off the limb.

It is true that mankind is currupt. Money, fame, and other things sparkle in the eyes of those that are weak and hold their attention. But wouldn't you say that God, or whoever put us here, would want us to reach through that sparkle and find our way to a better life? Ravenwing twirled the limb before him. Under the bark of this limb is years of growth. Peel each layer and you find a smaller and weaker layer under it. Get to the innermost layer, and all you have is a toothpick that can be easily snapped. Ravenwing looked up. I wonder how many of us are like this limb and never grew up, and just snapped and fell to the ground. Ravenwing thought a bit. Fallen angels you say? So you are our judges? What an interesting thought. Maybe I'll get back to that one in a little while.

But I am curious about one more thing concerning that party and you. You said that you have not killed an innocent, correct? Others have done that instead? Ravenwing watched Aracinds face. His own blank as he searched for the answer that might never be spoken. If it was your party, and you never attempted to ...limit the activities of the other Vampires, then how do you think that you did not take those lives? Not that I'm trying to test your patients, just curious on how you think. Really, if you think about it, you set up each and every human that showed up. You got em drunk so that they were easy, then you let loose the hounds.

We used to bait people in the Army. You'd set up a place for them to go through. They knew you passed right through, then, when they were where you wanted them, you attacked. Now, it could have been another person setting it all up. Does that mean he didn't kill anyone? He supplied the way and the means, just didn't pull the trigger. What do you think? Another point. You stated that you all were sent to judge. Does that mean Bastet and crew are currupt judges because they attacked innocents? And if you are that more knowledgeble than us, and you let those vampires judge, then how sound of a process is this?

Ravenwing knew he was pushing this vampire's buttons, and for the life of him, he just couldn't stop. All that wasteful killing was wrong. Somehow, maybe one at a time, maybe one in a century, the vampires had to see a better way. Ravenwing knew that he couldn't force Aracind to change how he did things, but maybe he could make him reconsider the action before it became history. Then again, Aracind may decide that the world would be better off with one less Indian on it's surface, who knew. The raven didn't give a clue. Ravenwing had no gut instinct on how it end. Would they walk away friends, or enemies? Or would Ravenwing walk away at all?

Ramiel - August 21, 2005 03:25 PM (GMT)
A better way?!, thought Kane.
From where he had been watching the mysterious Rider on the Horse, This idiot vampire had appeared out of nowhere, as he often did, and made a fuss. Kane hadn't been so irritated by anyone ever before. This Aracind had to learn his place, or die.

What stupidity he spoke, how arrogantly he carried himself. The way his voice held no respect for the person having to listen. The Rider need not strike him with a branch, oh no.

With a giggle to himself, kane watched just a little longer, then grabbed aracind by his conceited throat with one hand, penetrating the skin of his soft belly with the other.

"Hello again, wretch. Can't you see this man didn't want any company? If he had, he'd have brought along a friend.

You're always popping out with a speech of your own, you know, and I'm more than tired of it. Go bother someone else tonight, or Ill have your head a part from your body in but a minute, and if i burn that, you'll surely die."

"And you, Rider, don't you know this place is full of vampires?! What are you doing camping out inn the woods?! The world is not safe for this anymore! You cannot do what you used to be able to do! Idiots like this guy", he pointed to the bound Aracind in his grasp,"are all over the place now!"

Aracind, you'll come with me, now, or I'll kill you. You have your choice.

Aracind - August 21, 2005 10:26 PM (GMT)
Aracind remained firm and did not move, instead he looked into Kane’s eyes and saw what he was... deeply foolish.

"You will listen to my words vampire" He penetrated his gaze "And you will listen closely, remove me from your grip. You are a fool to touch me in such manner and it shows how you use your violence over your debating skills, you have no place in this argument. Ravenwing and I are acquaintances of old" He removed himself at once from the grip of the fool.

"How dare you use you 'bravado' and come in here like you are some powerful ancient vampire, you are a fool, and I curse you. I will not fight you for there is no need; if you strike me... it shows the fool inside you. I am outraged by your presence here. Kill me if you must you fool, but you will have no power over anyone else"

He remained firm and in his grasp "Release me you intoxicating demon, and show that you are not but brute strength. And instead can speak to me, like someone with any sense would do. Strike me now vampire, and you will fall. Maybe not physically, but emotionally"

He had said his piece; he saw the glint in his eyes, if there were an idiot in this forsaken land. It was the being that stood before him. Who instead of appearing to say his piece, appeared and butchered fellow kindred.

"Kane, kill me now if you must. But what will you accomplish?" His eyes squinted, he did not move otherwise, he had not physical stance. He let him grip him harder, yet he would not fight. Aracind would let him kill him if he was foolish enough to do so.

((Btw thank you for interrupting our debate and use your character for violence in a situation that you where not apart of))

Ramiel - August 21, 2005 11:43 PM (GMT)
"Maybe I'm tired of hearing your blabbering mouth, Aracind, and I know that by rambling with my own like you do would only further irritate us all.

And another thing- what youre looking at right now IS an ancient, powerful vampire. I'd enjoy killing you, just because it would rid the world of one more stupid, arrogant person. You think your words will get you everywhere, get you into and out of everything, but you're the fool."

Kane spat in Aracinds eye and laughed as the bloody, acidy spit stung the idiot's eye.

"I, too, am an old acquaintance of his, though not a friend by any means. I was only a watcher, a gatherer of sight and sound, until you, oh Gift from the Gods, showed up to ruin the night for the both of us. I no longer care that he knows I'm here, I only take action because I have a specific distaste for you."

Kane grew tired of speaking, at which time he reached into his cargo-pants pocket and revealed what looked to be a live frog- a huge, white tree-frog with ruby, shining eyes. It opened its gaping mouth and a bright, golden light shot toward Aracind's belly and out fell his disgusting, rotted organs. He remained standing, however. Kane was not surprised. His frog disappeared. The smell from the organs of the mutilated vampire-belly was awful, and Kane almost wished he hadn't done what he did- but then again Aracind had insulted him too many times with mind and word, and The guilt left Kane's eyes as the other vampire doubled over in pain.

Would killing him be worth the time? The pain he was feeling right now-it was unbearable even to watch. Kane decided he had only made the situation worse because of Aracind's terrible stinking bowels. He covered his nose and waved the quickly healing and regrowing tissue-d body away, and took flight. He would level himself far away, so the blubbering idiot wouldn't try to follow him seeking vengeance. Kane was annoyed enough for the night. He was tired.

((OOC: I'm glad you're enjoying my posts.)) :suave:

Ravenwing - August 22, 2005 12:15 AM (GMT)
Ravenwing watched as now two vampires ere in his camp. He shouldn't be surprised, but he figure that Kane had long since decided to leave him alone. Of course, who knew, maybe he thought he was protecting a mortal. Either way, no there was a contest between vampires and Ravenwing was mostly ignored.

Safe? I haven't been safe since a child. I wasn't raised to seek safety in all things. Maybe you think I am defenseless, or do you remember the edge of my blade?

The spilling of Aracinds bowels surprised Ravenwing. It took a fair amount of strength to do and he didn't see it coming. Of course, the usual smell crept to Ravenwing. It was annoying, however, he had smelled it before. Ravenwing noticed that the two were paying attention only to each other. Time to move.

Ravenwing looked to is blanket. His bow and arrows were next to it. A quick roll and he had grabbed the bow and two arrows. He dropped one down by his knee and knocked the other. A pull, and with Kane lined up Ravenwing spoke.

Ok, let's slow this up some. Look at me Kane. See the bow? Did you notice the arrow? Pay attention to the point. This is a war arrow. The point is made to slide between the ribs of man. Also, this shaft should interest you. I spent hours smoothing the wood. Now, I'll admit, I ain't the brightest apple in the basket, but I understand that certain items lodged in the heart, might be fatal. Would you like to calm down, leave, or find out how true my aim is?

Ravenwing had eyes only for Kane, Aracind had sat down to talk and left it at that. Kane, on the other hand seemed to always need violence. Ravenwing hoped that now, Kane would sit back and try to listen to reason. So much for the interesting conversation.

Aracind - August 22, 2005 10:28 AM (GMT)
OOC: Ramiel what you have just done is God-Modding, ill let it slip for now and not inform a moderator, and for your knowledge I have never role-played with Aracind before with you. Only Lucius.

OH AND BY THE WAY RAMIEL, Where is your character description for Kane? I’m interested to see his age and history. Because it shows up that there is no KANE at all in the character description, your only other character goes by a different name completely.

IC:

Aracind felt the organs drop out; he stared downwards at the array of blood and gore. But yet on his face he managed to express a smile, he was immortal after all. Scooping downwards he picked up the organs, and with great restraint and passion he pushed them into his large open wound closing it up with the skin. It healed rarely quickly; his blood was from one that was strong so it was an easy matter fixing things up. He had no desire for a final death at the time being.

Scooping downwards towards the earth Aracind sat be the warmth of the fire, contemplating that one with such passion and anger could have been so blunt, and that there were indeed those who just sought out a blood lust in this world. It was pathetic beyond belief, these where the ones who could not use their wit or knowledge. Instead they used their own bargaining chip, brute strength.

Ravenwing drew his bow, looking upwards from the fire at the creature Kane he saw only arrogance and a lust for blood.

"Go Kane, you are not welcome here" His words were soft, true and above all distasteful.

Ramiel - August 22, 2005 10:43 AM (GMT)
 "I fear not you're little arrows, man. Don't you remember that you were the first to pull the knife on me? All I had done was take you for a little flight. I meant you no harm and you knew it. If you'd like to hear more and more from this disemboweled fellow, I'll leave you to it. Also, help yourself to some stench."

Kane was no longer angry, but sort of hurt that the Rider had taken the side of the lesser man, but he expected no better from a young mortal.

"And for further information- in case you didn't know- there is no competition between a vampire and a mortal. You ARE defenseless against a vampire, and especially ones as old as Aracind and I.

"Cute show, though. Have fun, kids!" <0.o>

((OOC: I've been working on Kane's description for awhile. I've had a hard time posting it previously for the simple reason of connectivity problems. I've written it three times before I wrote it in Wrodpad, and after doing so the page would change from either another explorer page or just a 'loss of connectivity' screen. That post will be up very soon.

What was wrong with what I wrote? So Kane ripped out Aracind's guts. How is that not allowed? It's not like i can kill your character, so I did the next best thing. I could understand if I tried to kill him- that's just stupid- but hurting him very badly can't be a problemn with the moderators- can it? If you find out that it is- please let me know. I don't need any hostility- I'll just delete my posts. If not, though, accept my sincere and most heartfelt curses.))

Aracind - August 22, 2005 11:18 AM (GMT)
((You controlled my character slightly, but its cool dont worry. And I BELIEVE you are supposed to put your character up before role-playing with it. But no fear, its the mod's you have to deal with, not me))

Vanessa - August 22, 2005 03:52 PM (GMT)
OOC| All right, people, I was alerted to his situation by a PM from Ramiel, and now here I am. As I see it, Aracind, Ramiel didn’t exactly god mold by his actions, although I personally wouldn’t be pleased either if someone did what he did to my character. However, apparently Ramiel, you just showed up in this RP without being invited. Now, there’s nothing in the first post which says the RP was reserved for Aracind, but after several posts {or eleven, as in this case} by two people, it’s common curtsey to ask before you join. So everybody play nicely or you’ll all be sent to your rooms. |

Aracind - August 22, 2005 03:54 PM (GMT)
OOC: Sorry Vanessa, wont happen again :( *stares at the ground while pushing his foot around the floor* But thank you anyway

Ravenwing - August 22, 2005 06:12 PM (GMT)
( OOC ) I don't mind someone else joining, however try to fit in with what is going on. We were talking not fighting.

Ravenwing was surprised that Aracind was pulling himself together the way that he was. It drew his attention partly away from Kane, but only to register the fact of what was happening.

Not afraid of wood? Ok. Ravenwing smiled a bit. The knife was quick. The arrow was a warning. One you seemed to not take seriously. This arrow will find hearts blood if you don't start acting civilized. Ravenwing Was still kneeling, bowstring against his cheek. His eyes had gone cold. Vampire or not, Ravenwing was not about to back down. Ravenwing smiled as Kane said there was no competition.

You bled once from my blade. Let me know when you feel the need to bleed again. Seems to me I won that round, didn't I?

((OOC: Kane left already, and for information- arrows to the heart wont kill a vampire, and neither will slitting his throat. <0.->))

Ravenwing - August 24, 2005 04:46 AM (GMT)
(OOC) First, you talked of leaving, but you never left. Second, I was catching up and if you followed the posts, you would have seen that. And last most Vampires do have a problem with wood. If the arrow shaft was to lodge in your heart, I would imagine it would at least slow you down to a crawl until you were able to extract it.
Now, I got your Kane confused with another char you have, but in both threads, you have assumed that you are invincable against man. Could be your charecters thoughts, however, you use it to run over what is happening. I had you in sight while you and Aracind were talking. So did you choose to ignore the bow, or not?
Do you think I would have let you go? Would your char just walk off after what he did? Just a few thoughts for you. :)

OOC¦ Hoookay ladysl; back to role-play.

IC:

Aracind sat down by the fire; it crackled and played with the moonlight. He noted that the figure of Ramiel was leaving at long last. His suit had become more bloodstained than before and he always hated not looking presentable. He would have to find another suit someway or another.

He said nothing; the silence was comfortable between them. Aracind was grateful for Ravenwing’s interference, Aracind would not fight the one-dimensional vampire for there was no need, he had been stupid enough to attack him in the first place instead of revealing himself to Aracind.

Lifting a few logs of wood with his dark gift he placed them on the campfire, to keep Ravenwing warm. Sitting there he smoked a single cigarette watching the ever-changing night sky.

Ravenwing - August 24, 2005 03:53 PM (GMT)
Ravenwing relaxed the bow as the vampire left. A quick glance told him that the stallion was grazing calmly at the edge of the clearing. Gotta train that horse better. he thought. With the bow placed near him, and the arrows next to the bow, Ravenwing looked across the fire to Aracind.

I take it, you had words with that one before. Ravenwing looked at the ruined shirt. I'm guessing that you don't need a doctor now. Just how do you do that? I would have bet that you were a dead man after he made a mess of you.

Aracind - August 25, 2005 11:05 AM (GMT)
"No I don’t think so, I know of him though, the arrogant swine" His words weren’t harsh, they were calm and reflected his personality. He had always been the calm person in certain situations, for this instance proved it. He frowned upon violence for it was an easy resort for any dilemma.

"No I am a vampire and my skills at healing are very high, do I need these organs to live? No I do not, why he attacked me there I have no idea" Throwing the butt of his Cigarette he brushed himself down to see if anything would remove, obviously the stains remained and his appearance was that of a tramp or a homeless individual.

"You are always quite calm young one" He stared at Ravenwing, he looked confused for a moment "In the presence of a vampire, you always where"

((Yes, he was obviously not wanted there- and so he left. There's no need for Kane to pop up, be told to leave, and disobey. He bacically saw that he had no further reason to stay, and left. Forgive me for having stumbled into an awkward moment between you kids, i'll try to avoid replying to your posts, if you like.

If you have read the 'to know before joining' sector of this rpg site, you'll note that the makers of this site prefer the "Anne Rice" vampire stereo-type. In her novels, (I've read them all), an arrow or anything else made of wood for that matter cannot harm an old vampire. In case you didn't know, the flesh would have healed over the arrow and pushed it back out of the body. That is how the vampire body usually works. And mostly, a vampire cannot be hurt by a mortal. The only thing I can think of that a mortal could do would be to light it on fire or dismember the body and burn the pieces, or to keep it from finding refuge from the sun. Otherwise, a vampire as old as Kane wouldn't be hurt by a mortal.))

((Aracind- Kanes history and stuff is up, but I had writers block in the process of re-writing it. I'm not proud of how it came out but I may change it one day if i am allowed to. Also, hillarious you called my vampire arrogant. It's almost like an echo of what Kane had said to Aracind moments before...
Anyways, I'm not going to argue with you, just make one final statement- Aracind is the embodiment of arrogance. Kane is nothing of the kind, you'll see that in the way he acts in all of my previous posts.))

((Ok bye now, bye bye Ramiel the moderator))

Ravenwing - August 26, 2005 01:22 AM (GMT)
Calm in a way I suppose. Compared to most mortals you know, I would suppose I may look calm. But in these days, most mortals don't get to experience death up close,..personal.

Ravenwing thought for a moment, staring at Aracind. Truth to be told, I learned early on in life how to take life. The Army taught me how to take human life. In the end, it is all the same. The only difference is why and how.

Ravenwing stood up and walked around the fire to Aracind slowly. But with your kind..... What did your experiment tell you? Besides you could reduce humans to squealing pigs in a slaughter house.

Aracind - August 29, 2005 09:44 AM (GMT)
Aracind did chuckle, but it was not in a sinister way. It was sincere.

"It showed me Ravenwing, that we are dominated by a powerful force. That we are abandoned by God, and now we are under a strict code of conduct from the police of the vampire nation" he looked into the fire and saw the flames, flames could end life and in certain scriptures it had created life.

"The Amman keeps everything under order, even though there are so few of them"

Ravenwing - August 31, 2005 10:08 PM (GMT)
I wonder just how abandoned you really are. Consider, did you ask to be a vampire? If not, how would God abandon someone that didn't want to be that way. Of course, if you truely enjoy what you are, and do not want to return to your former life, then maybe he did. My understanding is that God welcomes all that take him into their hearts. Course, we would not know if that is true until we die.

I personally think that you deal with the hand your dealt. It is in how you deal with it that determines if a higher power looks with favor on you. So what do you do with your life to get your God's attention?
