"He gave me a D" The boy spoke to his friend on the large table in the bustling cafeteria. Among the students and the chaos and the panting over the grade results from certain courses sat Aracind. He sat idle on a small table near the centre. Wearing a black suit with a red shirt and a black tie he crossed his one leg over the other watching the students as they scuttled about like insects.

Education had been Aracind's main love in his past life but now he was something new, something different, he had changed from the vampire he once was. Throwing a newspaper on the table he scanned it with his minds eye. Topical events where as they always where, celebrities... who was sleeping with who and who was pregnant with who's child. Pathetic.

Crossing his eyes a student sat down on the table next to him with something sordid to eat, in his ear a portable music player. Immediately Aracind's ears where burnt with the awful pumping music coming from within it. "Club music?" He thought to himself. With a flicker of a thought the music player was in pieces on the floor and the student looked distraught over his lost companion... the music.

The cafeteria was indeed full of students, which Aracind always loved. He would mingle and live within the mortal crowd as one of them only to deceive them of course, and then at the last moment as he finally had them within his grasp... he would take them. A messy business feeding was, but a necessary one at that, and it was a sport to him now.

Sitting at the lonely table with only his insanity to keep him company Aracind realised all of a sudden that he was not alone.

"Nice of you to join me, Coffee?" He spoke to the figure behind him.

Devinino never liked going to school, he dropped out when he was back in Vietnam. He had to help support his family. They came first, his education didn't matter unless everynight they had food on the table. He occasionly walked through the halls of Demaitre University out of curiousity.

He wondered about what he missed out on, growing up and not going to school. Walking towards the cafe he heard students talking about grades and such. Some were happy and others were not. Walking around all of them he had a feeling he wasn't the only immortal here.

Slowly he looked around searching for the other vampire. Dev then went to get a seat by a man in a black suit. "Nice of you to join me, Coffee?" He replied" Yes of course I'd like some".

Aracind’s eyes where fixated on his paper and he rose his one hand, which was covered by a black, leather glove and signalled one of the cooks nearby. Immediately the cook calmly went over and started to pour a cup of coffee.

"So what bring you here?" Aracind spoke in a low monotone as he briefly scanned through the property ladder, things had become so difficult for mortals to buy in recent times, but it pleasured him so to know that the homelessness figures had increased dramatically in recent years.

The cook had now arrived to the vampire sitting behind Aracind, placing a cup of coffee on the table and leaving.

"Two sugars as usual" Aracind remarked and continued to read his paper.

" I have no purpose being in this school. I just enjoy roaming the halls of this university to see what I have missed out on. I'll never be able to continue my schooling" He finished taking his own cup of coffee and drinking it slowly letting the warmth wash over him.

" But, what is it that brings you here? Your probaly taking courses and such.." He trailed off waiting for a reply. Students were still talking about their grades, many have been talking about weekend plans. He smiled as he heard a group of them were going to the park late at night. Many vampires would be on the hunt then.
