Title: Kick The Can

Indigo Fairen - July 3, 2005 05:58 PM (GMT)
Indigo walked the streets quietly, searching for a victim. A discarded coke can lay in the street, in her path, and she kicked it absently in front of her. Her hands were in her pockets, and she kept her head down. The can rolled a few feet and stopped. She caught up with it and gave it another small kick. It was odd how amusing it was, the way the streetlights glittered off the shiney red aluminum. This went on for a while, the clink of can as it rolled down the street mixed with the distant sound of voices from the mortals in the city. Indigo kept walking, kicking the can, and hunting in solitude...

Walking on the roof of a silent apartment building, flipping through the pages in his mind, Kaine was disturbed by a horrid noise, as if someone had shot an aluminum can. He stopped himself and crouched a bit, for fear of whomever it was seeing him walking along the rooftop.

At once the female scent came to him, disgusting, now, as it was to him. He scored the general vicinity with his mind, projecting his awareness all about to see if this mortal had noticed him.

But this was no mortal; a slinky little girl though it appeared. This was another of his kind, and he was not sure of how he felt about that. The smell was on his loose nerves and he did then decide to stalk. Mortal or immortal, this was a possible dinner.

:P

"Kaine Kaine Kaine" Lucius stood behind the vampire "Such things you think" He held his arms behind his back and surveyed the vampire. "Have you already let her know you're here? Watching her? Or do you merely wish to watch her?" He walked forward and gazed deep into the young one's soul.

"Vampires are all fascinating creatures, we who walk under the Almighty’s turbulence... sent from the devil himself to do his bidding, but there are others who resist" He did not look at Kaine but instead gazed down at Indigo with curiousity beyond comprehension.

Indigo paused and looked around. She wasn't alone, she felt it. But she could see no one. Well, whoever they were, they weren't human. And they wouldn't show themselves until they wanted to. And she didn't feel like picking a fight, so she just kept walking, curious to see if the person or people would follow.

She was deep in thought. Her shoulders drooped and her eyes fixed on the cement. it had been a tiring day. Actually, it has been one big disappointment. Myaw has just lost her day job, and it was not because she had any fault---instead, her position was given to the manager's neice.

"So much for fair chance..."

She was still feeling pretty much angry at the world that she wasn't aware where she was. She bumped into a teenager and almost lost her balance.

"Oh...sorry..."

It was all she could stammer. The teenager's appearance has left her shaken: the unnaturally pale skin, the bright eyes and the bloody red lips. All she wanted was to get away from that alley. The teenager looked at her with curious eyes. It was then that Myaw decided that she must leave at once.

"Sorry..."

As quickly as her legs could take her, she walked briskly, barely hiding her fear of the teenager back there across the street. There was something different about that girl...something unnatural. Yet, it was appealing... She shook her head and tried to find her way home.

Ingigo looked up as a mortal woman bumped into her. Anger was radiating from the stranger, and anger that quickly turned to fear as she studied Indigo. Indigo smirked a little as she watched the woman run from her. She shook her head and started walking again. She didn't feel like giving chase tonight. Besides, Indigo was too preoccupied with whatever was following her...

"Why have you followed me? And why, friend, would you assume I had any connection with this 'Devil" of yours?"

Kaine didn't want to accustom himself with the way in which this man- vampire, really- carried himself and spoke as though he was the oldest and wisest in the world.

But not wanting to jump to conclusions about this blood sucking, religious man's character, he attempted to smile. The result was a crooked line made by a stiff mouth, and so he stopped and returned his face to a serious laxety, and awaited an answer.
<_<

Lucius's gaze hardened as he turned to Kaine. His long hair blew I little in the wind as he straightened the clothes he was wearing whilst approaching the vampire.

"Do not under-estimate anything Kaine, do not let your arrogance be your downfall" He paused "For it surly will be". Turning once again he looked down towards the girl.

He did not relax however and still kept the constant presence of the vampire focused in his mind. "I have seen more than you will in your lifetime I assure you Kaine, the devil is your master... as it is all of ours, he commands us to kill, to survive." He turned his head and glared at Kaine. "Religious or not, you are his servant and pawn"

((Oh and BTW Im intrested in reading your character Kaine's history, can you send me a link?))

Indigo stopped and looked around again. She was still being followed. "Hello?" she called. But she got no answer, as she had suspected.

Suddenly, she had an idea. She couldn't see them at street level...perhaps they were up? She glanced up at the roof. Hm, well, perhaps she would be the one to end this game of hide and seek. She scampered up the wall, agile as a cat. She slipped over the edge of the roof and found two male vampires chatting. She glared at them haughtily.

"Having fun?" she asked, her voice full of anger.

Ramiel - July 22, 2005 09:29 PM (GMT)
<_< "Why so angry, young one? I've done you no harm- let's keep it that way."

Kane spun slowly around, unintimidated by the little girl's pointless attempt at threatening him, as well as the stupidly irritating comment made by this foolish Aracind person.

"I'll be going from you now, children. I have no reason or rhyme to stand a petty disagreement.

Kane then took his leave from off the dank shingles of the roof. With a short walk and a silent drop, he landed directly upsright on the ground as if he hadn't just glided down three storeys in a straight line.

He made his way through a cobblestone alley, through wet streets and around hazardously slippery puddles.
