Title: Rumors And Truths
Description: (For Naf Whenever she has time.)
Gabriel - May 31, 2005 07:01 AM (GMT)
The thud of his boots on the pavement were all that kept him calm as he headed towards the Tarepha headqaurters. He had heard a few strange rumor's on the street earlier that night and he had to prove them wrong himself. Nyx could not be dead, he had sworn his blade to the coven and that swear stood until the coven let go of him. He had promised himself that he would keep Nyx alive until the day that he could kill her. The rumor's were crazy though, a child killing Nyx? It was possible but...no she wouldn't be that stupid now would she?..Yes she would. Mitchifer took a deep breathe and pushed the door open to. The coven was almost his entire life now, so what if he lived with Tiffany, she was great really but she wasn't an immortal, she would never understand.
At first everything seemed normal, he was only looking though. The only shock to him was that many of the familar faces were gone. Many mortals who had come before were gone. Dead perhaps though which would be nothing to shocking. Yes everything seemed to be safe and normal as ever, so why was he paranoid? This wasn't adding up.
He reached under his trenchcoat and felt for the two daggers which were hidden at his chest. The sword which was in it's scabbard that was strapped to his back and forced him to keep perfect posture felt heavier now then ever. With it's blood thinner on the blades it could kill any immortal with time, now long with the two other chemicals on it, it was truly a painful weapon. Vemon from an eastern diamondback made for an extremly painful wound and a more complex chemical Cyclosarin, which was used in chemical warfare in the past, that can shutdown the nervous system, even in a vampire the nervous system plays an important role, it would not kill a vampire by itself but cause them to be unable to move for a few hours along with the blood thinner it was a very deadly weapon.
He just wanted to be safe, best not to walk into a cave where a bear may be without something to kill a bear. Time for the real test anyway, Mitchifer took down his mental sheilds and scanned the room for lingering thoughts. Many fledgelings came here most unable to put sheilds up. He would find out what he needed, plus he was making sure people knew who was looking, many vampires in the room were looking around to see who had entered their minds and spoke to them asking for information. He wasn't used to this, having to ask. He was an assassin not a spy but when the times called for a temp. change of work he would change.
He gathered quickly that the rumors were indeed true, Nyx was dead and someone new had taken over the coven. Someone who wanted order for this coven? That would take alot of work to get. Best keep asking about. Mitchifer smiled and picked up a chair bringing it as close to the stairs as he could and waiting for either this new person to get curious about who was taping peoples minds in the Tarepha HQ or for one of the people who had more authority in the coven to ask him what he was doing. It would take awhile but until then he would learn what it could from open minds.

It had been the first time Rin had come to her coven in a long while, even before the losses, before the others thad entered her life, before she heard of the death of her friend. Rin had only associated with Nyx and the coven briefly, however she was strongly bound to the demonic group.
She was fidgiting with the drawstring of the grey sweater around her as she leant into the wall. Her eyes were of a much darker blue now and her skin had lost some of it's natural tan. She had come for the same reason as the others in the room ... to see who had taken the place of the rather interesting Nyx.
Her mental shields were up, not by purpose, it had become a natural thing for her now. There was slight pressure against them as the aura of another entered the chamber and without the slightest turn of her fair head she glanced to him. Damn it.
Rin swallowed and pushed her hands into the pockets of her jeans as she looked up to the stair case. The new leader would be here soon and she could leave ... It wouldnt be a matter of dealing with this pain in the ass.
(meh short)

Now he was drawing glances from vampire's who weren't so young. Vampire's who could prove to be a decent fight, but he wasn't there to fight. Mitch thought quickly about it and decided he needed to give these vampires something to make them think twice about attacking him for pressing their mental walls. He reached behind him, then began to reconsider what he was going to do. It would be an easy way to piss of the new leader, drawing a weapon in the club, much less a weapon made to kill vampires. He sighed heavily and stopped. Putting his hands in his pockets he stood and scanned the room. His eye's locked onto Rin almost instantly. Grinning broadly Mitchifer walked towards the young vampire quickly.
"Hello darling, how are you this evening? Pardon my asking but weren't you Gabriel's little friend from the rooftop or were you more the friends? Then one that threatened to harm a very dear friend of mine? I don't like having my dear friend's threatened love." He seemed pleasent today, grinning and seemed on the verge of laughing. Gabriel's toy, here, at his coven? Oh what were the odds.

He was talking to her ... the bastard. He wanted anger, she could see it in the eyes of the sadistic son of a ... She held an emotionless expression, the midnight blue of her eyes fixed quite firmly on his. It was her decision to answer his happy little questions, it was her decision to ignore them and turn away. Rather stupid of her not to.
'I was only repaying the respect you so boldly gave to me ... I should have cut her naval to neck when she was left alone ... when I had the chance. But then again I realized that probably wouldn't inflict enough pain.'
Rin knew what could happen if she crossed to many lines, but then again she had never been the kind to play chicken and haul butt. Her hands were clenched into fists as she watched the smirk of dawning laughter creep of his face. She leant against the wall and watched him, keeping the emotions off her pleasant little face.

He glared hard at her and leaned in close putting his lips by her ear. "You should watch yourself woman. Another comment like that about her and I will test my new sword out on your flesh and let these bastards around us feast on your rotting flesh." He leaned away from her still glaring. "I'm sorry for your loss but there was more to it then me just killing him for no reason." He had his fist clentched tight and his eyes glaring. "You seem like a nice girl normally so I will let your comment pass for now, you should really learn not to get so attached to men who you know are going to be dying. That's the problem with fledgelings who have no elder to learn from. They make foolish mistakes, but I don't blame you and I know you must miss him. I'll be nice for the sole reason that your young and you loved my brother."
He was quite angry at the moment but he was holding it down to try and not kill his brother's love. "He asked me to keep you alive and I said I would so don't make any stupid mistakes. Don't make his wish die becuase you decide to piss the wrong people off."

Wow he got angry quick, it surprised her how much better she held it in then him. Rin glanced over his shoulder to the others then slowly focused on him listening to is many threats ... somewhat apologies ... and more threats. She knew he could take her out, she might have had some knowledge that ones her age didn't and maybe some abilties, but certainly not enough to knock him into the dark ages where he belonged. Rin swallowed fighting back more than just memories, and definetly more than just hate.
Her eyes watched him still as she stood there unmoving and silent. What could she have said? She slipped away from between him and the wall, it wasn't a good place to be ... especially if he was that angry. Slowly she pulled the grey sweater around her and pushed through a door into another room. It was dark there, and far more comforting than the presence of the son of a bitch that resided near the stairwell.
Rin sighed and rested her head against the cool wall, still fighting back memories.

"Gabriel? Why the hell did you have to choose this one? I mean I know I said anything but her? God why me."Mitchifer clentched his fist and followed her to the other room. "Okay Rin, my brother asked me to keep an eye on you and I plan on keeping an eye on you. That mean's I can't kill you..I promised him I wouldn't. So say whatever the hell you want to me now and get if off your mind. If you need to hit me get it over with so we can move on. You can hate me, you can want me to die for all I fucking care but goddamnit you will respect me."
He was glaring at her but he was not as tense as before. "I have to keep you alive so from this day on I will be treating you like a fledgeling. You are young, and nieve so until I feel that you can go on your own and not die you will be under my protection. Any questions? Good, now then go ahead and say what you want. I know you loved my brother and I know he loved you. I miss him too but his death was something that needed to be done and what I did to him was less painful then what would have happened had one of the others gotten to him first."
bloodless_child - June 4, 2005 04:39 AM (GMT)
She was respectful enough to let him finish before landing a good punch to his left cheek. Rin could care less if it hurt or if it didn't, it was something she had been itching to do since she saw him. Giving a good shake to her hand before replacing it, she nodded.
'I do hate you and I do want to see you die ... but if that was what Gabriel wanted then I'm not going to disrespect his wishes.'
She swallowed, it was the first sign to break the emotionless barrier. He didn't give her much choice in the matter ... and sadly she didn't blame him. Rin knew if she had the option she would refuse like the stubborn idiot she was. She closed her eyes and spoke.
'You are one hell of an annoying man ...'
It was a sign of giving in. She didn't like the idea of being taught by him, but he had a point.
Gabriel - June 4, 2005 04:51 AM (GMT)
"Get used to it. I'll always be annoying. Now then show me any weapons you have on you...tell me you brought something? I mean your meeting the person who killed Nyx who knows what they could do to you? Well even if you didn't it's not that big of a deal. Your young and you'll make mistakes. Not often I hope as I won't tolerate many. So then what do you know about this woman? What do you know about yourself? Ways to feed? What's your money situation? Are you currently emotionally stable? How close to Gabe did you get? How deep a wound do you have from his death? Do you know how to use a gun? Sword? Knife? Do you know how to use your body to get what you want? What types of powers do you currently have? How easily can you disappear? Family connections? Freinds? Pets? Paper trail? Death records? Birth record are where? We're you even reported as dead yet? Do you have anything that would stop you from going to france tomorrow? Not that you are but if you needed to? Languages do you speak? How fast can you write? Feel free to answer what you can now the rest you can tell me by the end of the week. Also, learn to punch better, aim for nerves."
He was pacing and going over what he asked. "Yes that will do for questions for tonight. Tell me everything as soon as possible. If you have any other people who are teaching you I want to know who and I want to know now. Your cute and you need to know how to get what you want from people using that. So come now speak up." He seemed completely serious but in truth he was mimicing what Tristan had done to him years ago, bombard them with questions. Don't be do kind. "If you need a place to stay it will be provided, blood, and I.D., a car, and a few thousand dollars to start you off. Now then my name is Mitchifer Lanorus, you can call me Mitch though. I'm sorry for your loss."
bloodless_child - June 4, 2005 05:05 AM (GMT)
A brow was all that moved through out the bombardment of questions. Rin sighed as she took the tachi from her belt and the gun from her shoulder holster. 'I wasn't really expecting too much ...'
Now for the other billion questions.
'I speak french ... you have no right know more about me and Gabriel other than what you already know ... I have enough money to get by ... a loft ... no pets family or friends. I know how to feed ... doesn't mean I have to tell you the ways how I choose to. I have many weapons ... alot of them I wouldn't have if I didn't know how to use them. I can't disappear ... and I suppose I can feel as others around me do and on rare occaisions read whats in their head.'
That was all she cared to answer at the moment, if she needed any help in anything, if she could help it it wouldn't be provided by him. Now not that he asked of this but it was implied when he gave her his name.
'My name is Rin Hart ...'
Gabriel - June 4, 2005 05:17 AM (GMT)
"Okay Ms. Hart. I geuss you don't feel like telling me much right now and I understand your reasons. From what you have told me you need to be able to disappear, I don't mean turn invisible of course I mean that at any given moment you need to no longer exist, have a place to go and a person to be and a way to make everything go with you. Don't use banks, use safes and stash money in random places. Here is a place you can contact me at and if you try to do anything to tiffany I swear to god I will make your life a living hell for it." Even his last comment was rather calm and collected.
He held out a envolope with a red seal of wax with an L on it surrounded by a wolf on one side and a bear on the other. "Inside it money for Canada, the United states, Most of europe as they all use the Euro, Mexico, and Japan. You have a passport for each country and birth records for all of them as well. I went out of my way and got you the same name in all the places, which is your own name. Also a number which you can reach me at any time, and a private company of mine which you 'work' at. Any questions? Okay good. Now what do you know about the woman who killed Nyx?"
bloodless_child - June 5, 2005 06:56 PM (GMT)
Rin took the envelope and stuffed it in her jean pocket. 'I probably know just as much as you do about the new leader ... powerful ... and young ... well at least she looks as though she is.' She combed her fingers through her hair as a few strands fell in front of her face then looked up to him.
'I won't hurt Tiffany ... the only reason I threatened her was for a few more moments with Gabriel ... I had no intention of decapitating her with my bare hands.'
She glimpsed to the door upon hearing a couple crashs coming from the corridor. A fight possibly.
'So when does training start?'
Rin returned her attention to him with hesitance, half expecting his manner of teaching to be like a boot camp gone evil. She seemed to have calmed down alittle as she watched him waiting for a reply.
Gabriel - June 7, 2005 07:38 PM (GMT)
"Hmm well atleast your words prove most the rumors right, though I can't say thats a good thing. Nyx was powerful but as long as you stayed out of her way she didn't really track you down to make you work for the coven. This new leader could decide to put leashes on all her members..well with Tristan around and on good terms with me again I geuss I'll be fine as will you but...I don't have a good feeling about this new leader." He turned towards the door and took a few steps towards it.
"Lesson one begins now, come, we need to find someone who may know more then we do about the new leader and I want to see how you'll get the information from him or her. So come and pick out someone you think may know something. If you don't think anyone does then I will be leaving as I have no reason to stay here. You could stay though, I won't be teaching you much right now. I have other things on my mind." He doubted that anyone in the club new more then they did but if she thought one of them may then he would be willing to see how she gets information from people. You can always tell a great deal about someone by how they extract knowledge from people around them.
bloodless_child - June 26, 2005 01:56 AM (GMT)
A slight curve of her lips indicated a frown as she glanced towards the door. Extracting information was never one of her strong points, especially when all she prefered to do was ask questions or eavesdrop. Rin was quite positive the new leader wouldn't want too many members snooping about, asking questions about her power, origins, and so on. She swallowed.
Fear of the Unknown isn't uncommon, and the anticipation is perhaps worse than the actual encounter. The new leader had not revealed herself to the entire coven and rumours of her spread like wildfire, the true and the untrue.
Rin pushed against the door and stepped out. There was fewer people now ... perhaps an indication their curiousity would not be satisfied this evening. For a second she hesitated to look over her shoulder to Mitchifer before finding a seat about five feet from a group of vampires, conversing.
