Title: Night Shift
Description: Open
Rowan - May 30, 2005 11:25 PM (GMT)
Rowan walked into the police station, looking around seeing that there was only one person visible, the officer behind the desk. After seeing in the newspaper that the station was hiring, Rowan decided that the best thing to do would be to get a job. He walked up to the desk and got the officers attention.
"Excuse me, I'm here in regards to the ad in the paper."
The officer behind the desk was obviously bored and having a strange man walk in and suddenly talk to him spooked him quite a bit, what with all of the strange deaths recently.
"When can you start and what training do you have?" '
Rowan smiled, being careful not too show his fangs and risk being shot or captured.
"I can start tonight, though I can only work the night shift as I have prior arrangements during the day. As for training, I'm sure you'll find me capable."
The officer, appearing to have stopped listening, waved him off as if he were an annoying brat then hands him a clipborad with a few pieces of official looking paper on it and a pen.
"You're hired, just fill out this form and grab a uniform and sidearm from the back room for now, your badge and issued weapon and uniform will be ready in a few days."
A few minutes later, Rowan hands back the clipboard and pen and walks to the back room, getting a spare uniform which fit him, and a powerful looking gun, getting dressed in the locker room.
Tsuka Nitta - June 8, 2005 09:40 PM (GMT)
"Excuse me?" Tsuka Nitta's voice rang through the empty foyer as she stepped her way across the floor to the desk in the main foyer. Cabbage. Constable Gylor was easily identifiable. He had a scent about him that suggested his bed was made of cabbage. It was all Tsuka could do to prevent her nose from wriggling as she stepped closer. As she had come through the door, she had recognised the officer on duty. He had come to the hospital to inquire about the death of a nurse, disappearance of a young med student and a patient that had gone missing about a month previously. She had been involved because she'd been found in the room bloody, scrubs torn in what looked like a rape. She had gone home but when neither the patient or even the med student hadn't shown up, an investigation was called. The student had been so young, so promising. Only Tsuka had known the truth of events. Guilt and apathy washed over her in turns for weeks afterward.
The officer himself was a sour man when he was exhausted or not getting what he wanted. Tsuka's advantage for his attention had been his womanizing personality, which was obvious on his face despite professional settings. "Yes," His tone had been aggrivated, until he looked up to see the young looking doctor in front of him. It was one of those situations that was only in his imagination or one the porn flick in his VCR.
The officer smiled, "Can I help you in any way, Doctor...umm...Nitta?" He waited for her response, wondering how the young doctor would look without her longue black embroidered skirt.
Tsuka smiled as warmly as could be expected, nigh feeling the frost creep onto her tongue. Still, men would be men. "I need some help, I came from my shift this evening and found my door had been knocked down."
Trying to work and fantasize at the same time, the officer analysed what she had said. 'What a damsel in distress' he thought to himself...corny, but that didn't matter when he was in this kind of mood. Vaguely, he remembered the doctor had become quite cold when he suggested they finish the interview over dinner.
"I'll send someone over with you to check out your house." He had to stay at the front desk. He would get the new guy to take his place, but he didn't know the particulars of the office yet. Also, this woman didn't put out so he'd be better off here, relaxing with his imagination anyway. Besides, when this foxy woman was gone with the new guy, he'd sidle over to the bathromm for a few minutes. Constable Gylor liked this shift.
Rowan - June 9, 2005 12:45 AM (GMT)
Rowan's ears perked up as he heard the woman talking to the officer at the desk, He knew right away that she was a vampire, like him, but somehow...different. Rowan walked to the desk just after they had finished talking and said to the other officer with a somewhat thick Irish accent .
"I'll go with her, I need the practice."
He knew that the woman heard him, and had a pretty good feeling that she wouldn't mind him going with her even though he was inexperienced as a cop.
Constable Gylor just brushed Rowan aside like he did before, still undressing the woman with his eye.
"Yeah, yeah, whatever."
Rowan then turned his attention to the woman, she was quite stunning, but like everyone else in this city, Rowan couldn't trust her yet.
"I can help you Miss."
Mashiara - June 9, 2005 11:15 PM (GMT)
Squeak. Squeak. Squeak. Squeaksqueaksqueak. Squeak-squeak.
There was a break as the stringy janitor wheeled his yellow caution-emblazoned bucket about, the mop handle jutting upright. He paused for a moment, fiddling with something in his handy-dandy tool belt, eyes taking in the scene, and resting on Dr. Nitta for a moment before...
Squeak. Squeak.
He wheeled on down the hall and out of sight.
Man that bucket's wheels needed oiling...
Rowan - June 11, 2005 04:21 AM (GMT)
Looks at the janitor as he walks by. Rowan had never seen that man before, though he had not been there long, something was odd about him though, Rowan just could put a finger on it. He then shakes his head, returning his attention to the woman, waiting for her answer.
Tsuka Nitta - June 12, 2005 09:39 PM (GMT)
Tsuka stared teh man up and down quickly, taking, as trained, him in with only a few moments and filing away any data for the future. A vampire had not been what she had expected. A vampire might get in the way, but then again...a wampire could make the whole situation that much easier. She nodded with her eyes, mouthed a quick goodbye to the constable and turned to walk away. She could hear her new companion's foot steps trailing behind her. Seeing as she was going to get her way, she thought to be generous and reward officer, staring behind the desk and allowed her long skirts to flick here and there.
As she stepped outside, she took ten steps, a cool breeze flitting against her face, she turned and stared intot he officer's eyes. "Since you're kin, I'll let you have the jist of what's going on. You're going to come to my apartment, you will immediately leave. A man has broken in, I'm going to kill him. You are going to end up shooting him or taking him in before then. I live in an apartment, recently moved, haven't had time to purchase a proper house. Most of my valuables aren't there, but what he took was mostly significant to me, not the pocket book...Maybe the pocket book. I'm not sure of the asking price for jewelry these days...400 years old or no." She paused momentarily, allowing all that she had said to sink in.
Tsuka wanted this man to suffer. In her time...no one got away with such things. Never. She would enjoy taunting him. "I've no doubt that he'd only sell them for crack or something...he was no proffessional. He'll suffer...probably die...eventually. Do you understand I should I manipulate that fool inside to do it for me?"
Aye, she sounded bitchy...aye she was aggrivated, and aye, she was going to settle it one way or another. She wasn't sure the vampire would take kindly to her attitude, but she hadn't the time for pleseantries. She had kept her tone level, besides, it would soon be dawn.
