Title: Torn Skirt, Hiding
Rasder Akira - May 5, 2005 06:34 PM (GMT)
The panting was not heard by many, and if it was then no one was paying attention; which was a very good thing at the moment. Currently Rasder was now fingering the skirt that was thankfully still around her body, a bit tattered from the attack, as well as her poor midnight trench coat. The prize possession was now not so beautiful to her as it had been, it was dirty, the mud splattered up over it from the rain that was outside, and the park nearby was quite mud filled. The rips and tears up the trench coat made it look somewhat like her skirt, thankfully the other vampire had not gotten to her shirt or anything too important. Nothing showed of course, it just looked a mess. Heaving a sigh and looking at her arm, she narrowed her eyes, the dark hair falling into her face. Running through trees and such was not her idea of a nice walk out in the park, but this place looked like a dump as well. Perhaps she should have found a hotel room somewhere. Coughing and shaking her head a bit, Rasder looked down at the trench coat once more before she started for the door of the abandone house.
There were noises coming from inside, but Rasder decided that hiding out on the roof was much more appealing. Placing her hands upon the wall of the house, she scaled it quickly and found herself resting upon the roof with her eyes closed. Leaning back and placing her arms behind her head with a somewhat manical grin on her lips, her eyes opened to stare up at the night sky. This would be great, for a few hours, and then it would be time to use the last of her energy to get to someplace dark, perhaps that cemetary this time. Her one leg was up, the rags of the skirt falling around it and hiding anything that would be considered obscene, like anyone would see anything up here anyway.
Clearing her throat and letting out a sigh, fatigue started to set in, she did not seem like a vampire, perhaps more mortal than immortal. Yet Rasder was still, after eight years, trying to get used to being like this, to hiding in the dark all the time when she could not see the light of day. Of course she could stand some fires, but when it came to bright lights such as headlights and the likes of that, she was blinded by them, that's why she was attacked in the park. Rasder was not even sure if it was male or female, no voice, just some growls as she was stumbling away, being torn at by something, it could have possibly been an animal that had been sent after her, she was not sure. Taking away one arm and placing a hand on her stomach, she let her eyes focus more on the moon, it was something that she had missed when she was mortal, it was so much like anything else of nature, beautiful, captivating.
Morrigan - May 10, 2005 08:55 PM (GMT)
Morrigan had been spying on the warehouse for quite some time when Rasder appeared out of no where. The vampire caught the Warrior's interest, which was a rare thing.
She was melted into the shadow near a window. Right below where Rasder scaled the building. Her dark eyes became clear in the darkness. Then, her hands. Then, her face. She crept up the wall and onto the roof with ancient ease.
Darkle, her raven, landed beside Rasder, laughing. He always shows up before his mistress.
"Are you injured?" Morrigan asked. Her body, suddenly visible, sat beside Rasder. She stared at Rasder, seemily emotionless. Though, the vampiress was worried.
Rasder Akira - May 10, 2005 09:10 PM (GMT)
The sudden sensing of someone, and then she was right by Rasder's side, and the raven had startled her a bit. Yet Rasder seemed not to show a sign of her uneasiness as she stared at the female that was beside her. "Fine, just a mere run in with...something." she shrugged it off and tried to give a somewhat friendly grin, only half suceeding as she looked off to her right, her lungs heaving in another sigh. "Your bird?" she asked quietly, staring at the raven who had been laughing.
The skirt blew in a slight breeze, but Rasder did not notice the chill, she was unable to notice it. That seemed to bother her the most, not being able to feel if it were hot or cold, it merely was. She merely was in this world. A nobody that had been attacked by some mortals who were fooling around most likely, or she had been distracted by the headlights and vampire had taken it's chance to attack her, since she was probably on someone's territory. There was no reason to fret though, she had nothing really much to be around for. It was clear to her she was not welcome in the park, so she would remain far away from that area.
Morrigan - May 11, 2005 05:43 PM (GMT)
Morrigan's tattoos were covered tonight. She wore a black, tench coat which had a wide collar. The coat was buttoned up, so her clothes could not be seen. Knowing Morrigan, there was no telling what was under the coat. Only knee-high boots could be seen peeking from under the leather.
"This is my raven, Darkle. He doesn't bite. Just spies and steals," Morrigan chuckled. She looked at Darkle and mumbled something to him. Probably a command, because Darkle snapped his beak and flew away. She looked back at Rasder.
"You should heal quickly. Most vampires do," Morrigan continued, "You say you don't know what attacked you? That's strange. I hope you don't mind me being nosey, but where were you when the thing attacked you?"
Rasder Akira - May 11, 2005 07:34 PM (GMT)
"In the park. Car headlights, they were extremly bright, it might have also been a spotlight, not too sure. All I know was it had been blinding, and the next thing I knew something was tearing at my skirt, I didn't even hear a noise. That's what makes me think it was another vampire." Shaking her head and watching as Darkle flew off, Rasder glanced at Morrigan.
"If you don't mind, but what might your name be?" she asked as she looked over fully at Morrigan, her arms crossing lightly over her chest as she sat with her legs still up a bit, bowed somewhat as they were close to her chest. She did not feel the cold, but perhaps she felt a bit of unease at the thought of another vampire attacking her. It made her abit wary of the female sitting next to her. "I'm Rasder by the way. Rasder Akira. Most just call me Akira by my last name, those who used to know me."
Istar Indora - May 12, 2005 04:39 PM (GMT)
Istar Indora cursed lightly, as he rubbed at the sleeve of his overcoat, watching the soot seem to work its way deeper into the white fabric even with the falling rain wetting the tight knit cloth.
“Damn it all.” He growled, cursing his own foolishness and the damned fool in the park.
Wiping at his sleeve again and being likewise disappointed with the results Istar finally gave up as he walked out of the park and the pass the storm front of the little shower dumping itself on the park, toward the danker though for the moment not yet rain drenched part of town.
Still making the transition, Istar found quite a few patches of mud and was forced to hover slightly above them as he continued to curse. Walking/floating, the “young” vampire was truly distraught with all the annoyances of the night, especially with the tight grip he was forced to have on his abilities to keep any mortals from getting a glimpse of him doing something preternatural. The biggest worry however had been in the park, and Istar cursed once again, not only at the fate of his jacket, but at the idiot that had dared to attack him. It was with this thought that he paused outside of an abandoned warehouse, he simply fell silent in the middle of another cursing tantrum.
Istar could hear voices, his preternatural hearing making them a clear as if they were addressing him from a few feet away, instead of speaking in private high above him on a roof top. Instantly Indora knew that they were like him, they were immortals, vampires to be exact and this more so than being nosy made him stop and listen.
After listening to their exchange it was rather apparent that the woman, Rasder had been attacked just as he had been. From her words, she had been caught off guard and from what Istar could sense…she must be young, vampiricly speaking. Istar himself was “young” though his youth was fifty-plus years as an immortal and he had been taught to be completely self-sufficient from the day that he had been turned. That had probably been the difference between his attack and hers. She had been frightened and surprised, he had simply saw the other and reduced him to ash with a thought, for yes the other had been a vampire…one of a group of scavengers.
Istar hadn’t bothered to find the others, but from the look of the one he had gotten on his favorite jacket, they were definitely scavengers. Fledglings without coven or master, that lost themselves to the vampire’s blood lust. They were no better than wild dogs, and the though made Istar wonder if he should go back for the rest of the pack. Well he wasn’t sure, but he felt the sudden desire to speak with the others, so it was that he willed himself airborne and like a leaf in the wind he rose.
Moments later, Istar landed on the roof’s ledge with a forced smile and his hands above his head like he was being arrested.
“I’m sorry ladies, to so rudely interrupt your conversation,” he said politely, looking first at the woman in the tatters and then her “friend” in the trench coat “but I just thought you might want to know what happened to the scavenger that attacked you.”
With that Istar gestured toward the soot on his white overcoat. “They are annoying, but if you are aware…they shouldn’t be dangerous. There are however, more in the park, from what I know…they hunt in packs and attack mortals or immortals that they think would make a decent meal.”
At this Istar smiled, hoping to defuse an hostility that might come and then he put his hands down, or rather began to fix his slightly disheveled suit, by running his hands across the wrinkled white Armani and the guava colored shirt that he wore with a tie of the two complimenting colors in a jagged design. With that, the man of Afro-Arabic decent awaited the women’s replies.
Morrigan - May 12, 2005 09:09 PM (GMT)
Morrigan grinned. Her raven had been spying on him from quite some time. Istar was one of the few vampires that not only caught Morrigan's interest, but kept it. Of course, since he was more alert than some vampires she had to stop Darkle's nightly checks on him. She was sure Istar would notice a silly bird watching him.
She stood up, her balance near perfect. Her eyes studied Istar for a moment, since she had never seen him in person. There's only so much a raven can tell about a person. She nodded to Istar in greeting.
"Thank you for the alert," Morrigan said. Her eyes wandered towards the woods. "Maybe I should have a meeting with these scavengers. It has been awhile since I've practiced my sword. Of course, they do not seem like they are very skilled attackers. You got away without a scratch, it seems. And Akira is only a bit shakened."
The sudden itch to hunt crawled down her spine. Her pink tongue ran across her lips. Yes, a hunt does sound like fun.
Rasder Akira - May 13, 2005 01:54 AM (GMT)
Nodding with a bit of reproachful jealousy, Akira stood up slowly and she glanced at the woods as well. "Payback, it does sound amusing." she murmured, but she was ill experienced. Akira never really hunted much, not unless looking for a good meal, but other than that, she stayed away from other vampires. These two were the rare exception that did not try to bite, or kill her. Glancing at Istar for one moment, Akira decided that nodding was alright. Perhaps she should give a thankyou, but of course he had been attacked as well, so it was in his own self defense, or perhaps his own merryment.
Either way, Akira was just glad that one was gone, perhaps a few more that were gone would be nice. She decided to join in the hunt, but keep quiet and not pounce until she felt that it was the right time, most of the time she was too early or she was too late and either way her meal or her kill got away. Shifting her gaze too the moonlight for one moment, Akira again thought of it's beauty before looking at Morrigan. She was at a loss for words, Akira never really did say much.
Istar Indora - May 13, 2005 04:51 PM (GMT)
Istar Indora looked at both of the ladies before him with a sudden bit of intrigue, neither had even blinked at his sudden appearance or the fact that he had flown up to the roof top, but then this made him glad. It was good to be in the company of those that like himself were at ease with what they were. Istar was a monster, he knew it, accepted it, and loved it. He was a child of the night, eternal, and always. And more so, he was educated. He was educated in himself and his world, something that he had never managed as a mortal. Istar’s life was now a dream, sweet and dark like molasses, he enjoyed it so much and with a smile he suggested something that would bring even more enjoyment.
“Well, ladies…you have allowed me to say my piece and I yet live. That is always the beginning of a grand relationship between immortals in my opinion,” He laughed a bit at his own joke, not caring how tacky such a thing was.
“And yes I know that neither of you have any reason to trust me, but I like the idea of hunting them. They are a vexation to us, or rather immortals. And they are quite deadly to humans; even perhaps they are deadly to us. No, not necessarily in a physical sense, no offence Ms…Akira…was it? But you simply allowed yourself to be surprised by a mindless shell, but scavengers are vampires none the less and if any of them were to be captured. Well, I guess my point makes itself on that one…”
For a long moment he simply let the words hang there, knowing that both of the other immortals got his point. Scavengers being captured and studied was bad, the world really didn’t need to know that vampires walked the Earth doing pretty damn well what they pleased. During his statement, somewhere in that mass of annoyance and analyst, Istar had lost his smile in favor of a more serious expression. He promptly remedied this with another, he hoped, dazzling and charming smile.
“Would you two beautiful ladies of the evening…join an old hound? I mean at least a mercy hunt, its lonely being a murdering monster…”
He was looking innocent, yet holding a smile that said he was no such thing as he said this. He looked at both of them for a reply, and then gradually began to inspect them with his eternally predatory tawny gaze.
Morrigan, or rather the one whom Istar did not know her name, was the first his eyes fell on in earnest contemplation. She was a good deal shorter than him, which most women tended to be, but looked more than bold with her trench coat and her luscious brown hair, with the strange though compelling streak of crimson. Her eyes were almost the same color as his own; or rather they were in the same neighborhood as the sliding spectrum that his own brown orbs adhered to. She looked young, but he could guess from the pallor of her skin with its faint freckles that she was probably much much older than him. If she agreed he knew he couldn’t help but smile in her company.
Akira was no less, she was pretty as well, with eyes that seemed like his to darken and lighten with mood. Istar wasn’t sure how he knew this, the woman’s eyes had been pretty dark throughout their acquaintance, but he did and guessed that perhaps he was starting to get better at the vamp mind tricks that everyone else without a pulse in town seemed to be an expert at. Well it didn’t really matter how he knew, instead Istar looked at her hair, it was a soft and slightly darker brown than that of the other beauty, but it held slight sanguine highlights that his preternatural vision caught like rivers of blood on tree bark. It was an exquisite coloring and her pale skin seemed to magnify its glory. Yeah, she was a stone cold fox, both of them were and he sighed at the thought that they might decline his offer. Oh well, if they did, he could always go take it out on the scavengers anyway. Sighing again, he waited, possibly a bit nervous for their answers.
“So ladies?” He asked, sounding hopeful.
Rasder Akira - May 13, 2005 10:53 PM (GMT)
Ponderment fell over Akira's face, she was good at hiding those deep and dark emotions, but ones that were somewhat normal she didn't bother to do so. Hearing his sighs, her eyebrow flicked up a bit, it was a habit in doing so. Akira used to have a very close friend who used to laugh whenever she did so, but that friend was gone now, dead. Her eyes flicked to Morrigan to see the other female's face, to guess what Morrigan might do. Perhaps this looked to be an act of looking up to a much older and more experienced immortal, or it was just to see if Akira might have to go alone. She made up her mind and gave a small nod of her head.
"I shall join you, although please pardon my slight inexperience." she muttered the last part with a bit of a grin, she was after all very young in immortal years, unfortunatly.
Shifting her feet nervously, Akira again looked at Morrigan, and regained her own composure, standing as if a stone statue, no emotion on her face as she awaited the other female's answer. The sound of something moving below made her eyes fall right to the bushes, but it was merely a small rodent, and Akira again relaxed, her ears were still open to all sounds, waiting for the right time to pounce if a scavenger were to come by.
Morrigan - May 14, 2005 06:22 PM (GMT)
Morrigan kept her gaze on the young woods for a moment as she pondered what to do. Hunting with another vampire was something she had not experienced for a very long time. Hunting with two vampires was even more rare. She stared Istar straight in the eye. With age comes boldness.
Istar ovbiously knew what he was doing. Strength radiated from him like heat. According to clues delivered by Darkle, Istar seemed to fall under the Ishak Coven. Though, Morrigan guessed he might be independent. Having him as a hunting partner would be wise. Morrigan stared at Rasder.
The girl was young for a vampire. Morrigan instantly liked her. She is new to the battle field. But she has the spirit. At first, the old vampiress was concerned about her safety. Then, flashbacks of her master throwing her in pits with starving wolves reminded her the best way to learn is the hard way. And what better way for Rasder to learn new tricks than hunting with two experienced vampires. Besides, maybe the child vampiress had her own tricks. Having Rasder has a hunting partner would be great as well.
She stepped back, so she could see them, both, well. A bright smile graced her pale face. "I would be honored to hunt with you, two, fine vampires," she stated, a fire in her eyes. She could already feel the hunting drive building.
Istar Indora - May 16, 2005 03:19 PM (GMT)
Istar returned Morrigan's smile, a cool expression that didn't quite seem possible given that the "young" immortal's gaze held such fire. But then that was Istar Indora, a living contrast. Hot and cold running at the same time. Cruelty and kindness. This was, after all the way of the world and Istar was indeed a creature of the world, this was how happiness always seemed to be intact.
Taking a step toward the two women, Istar soothed ebony strands of hair from his eyes, moving the silky gift of his mother's Arabic decent behind his ears. Then he returned his attention once more to his suit and jacket, pulling the sleeves down over his slightly scarred yet smoothing and slowly darkening chocolate-caramel skin.
After he got both sleeves down, Istar found himself looking down at his hands, first the palm, then the backs. On both, marring both hands were ragged looking rings that were now filled with flesh, yet had once upon a time been bullet wounds straight through both hands. He had matching wounds on both feet. They were a reminder of the mortal man Istar Indora had been, the gangland kid that had tried taking over and failed, earning "crucifixion" for his trouble.
Shaking his head, Istar relieved himself of those memories. No, now was not time to stroll down memory lane. Istar had two beautiful ladies waiting on him, and a pack of scavengers. A fun night, that was sure to get his blood flowing.
"Shall we go then?" He asked Morrigan and Akira, his grin widening as he looked at both of them with heated predatory eyes.
Rasder Akira - May 16, 2005 11:36 PM (GMT)
Akira's eyes flicked towards Istar and there was a darker tint to them, a beginning hunter look to her as she nodded, a grin spread across her lips, small yet satisfactory as her fangs gleamed a bit in the moonlight. That was one thing she had never been afraid of, she had never been afraid of her appearance as a vampire, she took it in and learned to love it, what she feared was if she were to become a ravenous killing machine, of course hunting was fun, but killing several hundred humans in mere weeks was somewhat frightening to her. She let that thought pass through her mind without fully digesting it and there was no sign of it's existance upon her pale complex face.
The night was calling to her, and the sound of the scavengers screaming in torment might be satisfactory. The thought strangely did not frighten her somewhat inner human self, but she knew that she was immortal now, she was no human. As Istar had put it, a killing monster. Her eyes gleamed with a killing monster's delight as she looked at the trees, itching to get going, to run through the thickness of the trees and to leap over rotting logs and freshly fallen ones, to smell and hear the scavengers and finally, after all of the work of finding them, getting her vengeance.
Morrigan - May 17, 2005 05:49 PM (GMT)
Well, the Warrior was ready. She always carried weapons on hand. Things you wouldn't think a vampire would have. Morrigan walked to the edge of the roof and stepped off, without looking. She landed with a light thud, her boots shined in the moonlight. She looked up to other vampires, while unzipping her tench coat. She wore a tight bright red skirt and a black corset. A common outfit for her. Her devices of war were hidden.
"Do we need to stop for weapons? I have a sword, a few daggers, and holy water with me, Akira, if you want it. Of course, we could fight with just our bodies." She looked at the woods. "But, then, where's the fun in that?" She mumbled, though a vampire on a roof could easily hear her.
Istar Indora - May 19, 2005 04:39 PM (GMT)
“Oh, it’s actually lots of fun.” Istar replied with a wink.
Walking toward the edge of the roof and following Morrigan’s lead, stepping off, Istar smirked slightly. Much like the other immortal, Istar landed with inhuman grace and his fall didn’t even leave a sound on the air. His smile deepening, he took the few steps that separated him from the warrior woman.
“Using your body in these kinds of things gives a rush…that weapon combat just can’t match.” His smile became a grin at that and he seemed to pause, taking a breath. The breath however was merely a steadying move, slowing down the growing excitement in the man’s blood, but by the same coin it made it burn hotter as he took in the sweet, heady, scent of the woman at his side. It was a delicious contrast, and one that made Istar’s voice a bit husky with enjoyment as he spoke again.
“It will be sweet tearing these idiots to pieces. I don’t need anything, but I can wait if you two feel the need.”
Yes, Istar Indora could wait. The question was simply, how long?
Morrigan - May 19, 2005 06:44 PM (GMT)
Morrigan looked at Istar. "I prefer weapons when it comes to the scum of the earth. Now, if I fought you...I would use only my body," she said, her voice smooth and flirty. Yes, the old vampiress was quite a flirt.
She stood there waiting for Akira. Her fingers touched the hilt of her sword. The tool of war was lightweight, weathered, and sharp. It was only a short sword, straight and board. Not Morrigan's favorite, but it was her first weapon.
A breeze from the woods blew a scent towards the vampires. The heavy scent of scavengers tickled Morrigan's nose. She snorted. It was a terrible scent. "They are close," she said, quietly, "They are following a path, I'm sure. I don't think they are smart enough not to. And if they are as dumb as I think...this will a night of slaughter." She let the last word rolled off her tongue like a growl.
"I am ready when you are," she told Istar, "And it seems you are."
Rowan - May 29, 2005 04:41 AM (GMT)
*Silently, a dark figure emerged from the shadows on a crate above the group of other vamipres. Though he was slightly visible, the figure appeared to have no detail, except for the eyes, which were glowing black, impossible yet somehow... entrancing. The figure of this new vampire shifted slightly, as if checking behind his back, he then started watching the others closely, with luck they could lead him to some food.*
Istar Indora - May 31, 2005 03:47 PM (GMT)
Istar shot a glance up to the roof, and Akira, though the other vampire was not actually in sight. Then his gaze fell back to Morrigan and he smiled lightly.
"So what of our girl? Is she coming?" he asked, cracking his knuckles and glancing upward once again.
Truly, Istar wanted to wait on Akira, after all she was the first to be attacked by the foolish scavengers. But also, the "young" vampire was ready for blood, his blood boiled with violence, and the wish to avenge the honor of his poor poor coat.
Istar laughed at that last thought, well perhaps not so much that one, but he did yearn for violence. It would clean his soul, content him for another night. It would feed him as much as blood, food for his soul and God help the fool that would stand in his way, or for that matter wish ill upon him, or the beautiful ladies he had come to call friends for the evening.
Istar was sure he could feel another, another immortal, slinking and quite in the shadows. A being obviously not yet so comfortable in his power as a hunter of blood, or perhaps he was just the fool that God would have to help. Istar did not know, would not until the other made a move, until then Istar would be happy to imagine he could not feel the other and as he did, he would enjoy his night.
"Akira. Are you going to join us?" he asked suddenly, looking to the roof, then back again at the lovely Morrigan.
Morrigan - June 7, 2005 07:49 PM (GMT)
Morrigan let out a sigh and tugged at her coat. Akira still had not come down, yet, and she was iching to hunt. The Warrior glanced at Istar and flashed a fanged grin. "I don't know if our Akira is still up there," Morrigan said, humor made her voice light. Now, her hands were playing with her belt. The small bottles of Holy Water and other things clicked together. She closed her eyes.
I should have brought the powders. Not that I planned on hunting for Undeads tonight. Actually, I still haven't feed.
She kept her eyes closed and focused on her other Dark Gift. The one she kept a secret. Hoping Istar wouldn't notice anything strange she searched the area, mentally. She felt Istar's and Akira's presence. There was another one nearby, but it was taunted. Probably, an Undead in disguise she thought. No Scavengers close enough to care about. Her eyes opened leaving her mind slightly dizzy.
"There's another vampire close by, possibly. Do you sense it?" Morrigan asked Istar, her voice steady. She didn't care if the other heard.
Rowan - June 8, 2005 07:09 PM (GMT)
The vampire jumped down to the ground and into the light, showing his white hair which went to about his shoulders and his black eyes which still seemed to glow but not as intensly as they were in the darkness. He wore an open black trench coat which flapped in the wind as he jumped, showing off his cothes, a t-shirt and a piar of cargo pants, both black as well.
"Good evening, pardon my intrusion I just heard that you were going to feed and was wondering if I could join you?"
His voice had a hint of Irish in it, not too much that he was not abloe to be understood, but still enough to show that he had not been in Demaitre long.
Morrigan - June 8, 2005 09:35 PM (GMT)
Morrigan turned her head to the stranger. So, that's who it is, she thought as she bowed her head to the vampire in greeting. Her hands pushed back her coat with a quick movement, then rested on her hips. Glaring at the stranger, she tilted her head to the side. There was no record of him in her mind.
"We're hoping to catch some Scavengers tonight," Morrigan said, "I wouldn't mind if you joined. But this is a party. My friends will have to approve as well." She paused. Still no memory of him.
The curious vampiress stepped forward and offered her hand. "I am Morrigan Blair. And, may I ask, who are you?"
Rowan - June 9, 2005 12:14 AM (GMT)
He smiled and took Morrigans hand, his own hand was almost white and freezing cold, he hadnt fed in far too long.
"Its is a pleasure to meet you Morrigan, my name is Rowan. By all means as k your friends."
Morrigan - June 9, 2005 10:05 PM (GMT)
"Please to meet you as well," Morrigan said, hoping it would not turn out as a lie. She let her eyes linger on him from a moment, so she would not forget him. Any vampire could be the clue that leads her to Camlin's son. Though, Rowan did not seem like a clue. Just another handsome and strong vampire.
She looked at Istar, waiting for a response. Of course, she had not forgotten about Akira. "I'm sure they wouldn't mind. But more than four hunters might be too many. If you join, we'll have more than enough and the Scavengers will have more than they can handle," Morrigan said to Rowan, a devilish grin on her face.
Rowan - June 9, 2005 10:11 PM (GMT)
A toothy smiles crept across his face, showing his fangs which seems sharper than normal.
"Sounds like it is going to be a fun night."
Istar Indora - June 10, 2005 02:30 PM (GMT)
"Yeah, as long as we don't have any more unexpected twists." Istar said suddenly. Istar's eyes had not left the other vampire even as he moved through the darkness to confront them, and now this close, in the light, Istar's gaze was not as subtle as it had been. No, now he was openly staring at the other, almost as if with a blink the pale figure would be gone forever.
But then it wasn't him disappearing that Istar was worried about. Nope, Istar Indora was much more paranoid than that, but heck just because you're paranoid doesn't mean that there isn't someone out to get you. And anyway it was paranoia that usually carried the undead to a ripe old eternity. Istar wasn't satisfied with his eighty plus years of life, and he wasn't about to give it up to anyone that couldn't kill him by being more powerful.
Indora had done betrayal before and lost his taste for it. He already had enough knives in the back.
Still looking at Rowan, Istar gave a slight nod.
"Hi. I'm Istar Indora, and I've got no problem in you coming along, as long as you don't...you know, have a problem that is." When Istar said this, the threat was clear. Rowan would behave himself as a vampire, or he'd behave himself as ash, one or the other.
Rowan - June 10, 2005 06:33 PM (GMT)
"It is a pleasure to meet you as well Istar, and you have no need to worry, there is not much that I would be able to do."
Though he was usually quiet, Rowan was very polite and would behave no matter what.
(ooc: sorry about the craptasticness, im kinda rushed)
Morrigan - June 10, 2005 09:49 PM (GMT)
Morrigan turned her head and muffled a chuckle with the back of a hand. She found it hard to believe Rowan. No offence to him, but vampires do not behave! The Undead cannot afford to follow rules if they are to survive. But she did not want to laugh in his face. Rudeness to strangers only came from her if they asked for it. Instead, she looked at Istar from the corner of her eye. She could barely sense untrust. That's normal...and wise.
"So, Rowan, what do you have to offer our hunting party. Everyone has their own special skills. What's yours? Or are you too young?" She asked, smiling. Her hands were resting on her hips, again. Morrigan was just being a pest, now. The rising testostrone in her blood made her more bitchy. She stepped closer to Istar to show that she was on his side. Though, he might not get the subtle hint.

He chuckled and then had to hold back a laugh when he saw Morrigan take Istar's side.
"What can I offer? Other than the standard things, I can make a clone of myself, I know its strange but I guess it makes snse because I am strange myself."
He smiled once again, thinking that they probably wouldn't believe him so he prepared himself to show them if they asked.

"Interesting," Morrigan said, thoughtfully. She believed him. She had seen and heard stranger things. No use asking him to do it. Istar might ask, though. She wasn't sure. "That could be useful," she added, but her thoughts were interupted. A sudden pain shot through her. The urge to hunt was becoming unbearable. Maybe she could feed, now. It would only take a minute.
No. Not now. I'll feed soon enough. I've got new vampires to study at the moment. Best to stay here. Morrigan swallowed the hunger like an old vampire who hates to hunt. It did get boring sometimes. That it is why she stopped for so long.
"Well, as soon as Akira comes down we'll leave," she said. Then she seperated herself from the small crowd, finding the shadow on the trees more relaxing.

Istar watched as Morrigan moved away, his right eye still keeping Rowan in his peripheral vision. Istar wouldn't chance taking his eyes off of the new arrival. No, it wasn't something the other had done, or even any possible sense of dread, instead it was simply the way that Istar had been taught, had survived thus far. It was a good thing to do. A smart thing.
Smiling, when Morrigan seemed to find a more comfortable spot, Istar now put her in peripheral vision as he looked at Rowen, smile still in place.
"That's unique. A clone of yourself...I'll have to remember that one, you know that there is somebody out there that can do that kind of thing. I suppose it isn't that different from the controlling of shadows that some of the old ones usually can pull off." Istar's eyes became thoughtful with this.
After all Istar had his own rather unique abilities, all vampires did really. There was all kinds of variant mutations, stuff that came from individual blood lines, or shared, and some stuff that seemed to be personal mutation.
Yeah, Istar had actually studied this among other things with Alex. She was one of the old ones that loved science, and through her teaching, he had come to love it too.
Looking at Rowan, Istar memorized the guys features, perhaps if their hunt went well, he ask about his ability later. Perhaps! Istar just hoped that would be the case, he still wasn't an easily trusting soul.
