Title: A Night Of Weary Mortals
Description: -Open to All-

Moribundus - April 8, 2005 02:34 AM (GMT)
Now this is the kind of place he likes: quiet, calm, semi-light, and not-too-crowded. Revolzin enjoyed the more calm places; and he despised the frantic, bright, and the so-crowded-that-you-can-barely-move, found in most places in the modern world. There were about twenty-or-so people around, all of them probably mortals. He wondered if he would feed tonight, though he doubted it. He had just fed a little over three days ago, so he had no overlying hunger. There was a low murmur of many voices, talking many things. The television was turned to the news, sound off, subtitles on. The bartender, an average looking male, was talking to a drunken patron.

Revolzin took up a seat at the bar, maybe twenty feet from the front exit. He didn’t order a drink, for he could not drink it. He just sat there, enjoying the smell of blood and the peace of quiet. He could just sit here forever, well, at least until he had to feed, or the sun shone in. But that shouldn’t happen for at least another five or six hours. The sun night was starting to get shorter with the coming of summer. The trees have started growing their leaves again, and the grass is starting to green. The temperature had risen greatly in the last month, though it is not completely warm yet. He was waiting for the hotter weather, where he could feel a little warmer, a little more “alive”

The bartender broke off his conversation for a moment to ask Revolzin what he would like to order. ”Nothing, thank you,"
Revolzin said, and the man went back to his conversation. He wished that the mortals would just leave him alone, but, that is the nature of mortals: to serve, and be served. He wondered when the bar colsed, but didn't ask anyone, for he didn't want to draw unneeded attention to himself. Oh, well, it'll probably close around three, three hours from now.

Morrigan - April 13, 2005 12:23 AM (GMT)
Morrigan had been sitting at the bar for a few hours. It was her third night at the tavern. The room served her well during the day. When the sun died away she would come out and feed on guests. But tonight she not hungry. She could look for more signs of Camlin's son, though she had not seen a sign of him for centuries. So, here she was. Another city, another boring night.

Then Revolzin entered the tavern. He caught her interest and she could not help but move from end of the bar to other to meet him. She put out her cigarette and slid off her stool. She was wearing a black dress that night. It looked rather sexy on her. She wore her hair down and most of her tattoos were somehow invisible. Only the blue dragon curled around ankle could be seen.

As she approached Revolzin she smiled. Maybe tonight would be different. She slipped onto the stool next to him and clicked her tongue against her teeth.

"Why come to a bar if you will not drink," she asked him.

Moribundus - April 13, 2005 01:56 AM (GMT)
"Why drink when you have no need to?" Revolzin replied to the young woman that approached him. He could tell that she was a vampire: there was no smell of blood coming from her, and her skin was a deathly pale. Yet another immortal in this city.

The atmosphere was sufficiently dark, so he took off his sunglasses. The room seemed to light up, though not too much. Perfect. If only every place was like this one. "Would you like a drink?" not waiting for an answer, he ordered a scotch for the vampire, and the bartender reached under the bar for the liquor.

"How rude of me, I'm Revolzin," he said and tipped his hat, an old custom of his childhood. The bartender brought the drink, Revolzin paid in cash, and slid the drink over to his visitor, hoping that she could like the scotch, but not really caring if she didn't. He didn't want a scotch for himself, for he could not drink, or eat, anything besides blood. But some vampires could, so he took the chance in her being one of them.

Morrigan - April 13, 2005 11:58 PM (GMT)
"I am Morrigan Blair," she stated.

She noted that he tipped his hat and bowed her head in response. Revolzin ordered a shot and passed it to her. She smiled. Either he knew she could drink or just guessed. She lifted the glass to her nose. Scotch.

"Thank you." With one swallow the strong liquor was gone. Morrigan could drink, even eat, but she did not need it. Food tended to taste bad, as did most drinks. Though she welcomed anything with alcohol, despite the fact it did not effect her. Alcohol burned going down...like blood.

She let out a sigh. "So, what brings you here? Hunger for blood, amusment, or, perhaps, company?"

Moribundus - April 14, 2005 12:16 AM (GMT)
"You're welcome." He quickly scanned the bar, for nothing in particular, finding nothing that stood out. Good, now maybe I can enjoy myself without something, or someone, popping up to annoy me.

"Funny you should ask," Revolzin replied, smiling slightly, "I just came here 'cause the place looked nice...But I wouldn't mind some company." Revolzin watched Morrigan dink the scotch in one gulp, wondering what modern liquor tasted like. Not that it really mattered; blood would always taste infinitely better.

"So, what brings you here?" He asked, picking up his sunglasses and putting them in his pocket.

Morrigan - April 14, 2005 05:01 PM (GMT)
Morrigan couldn't help but be curious about Revolzin eyes. They were completely white. She has not bothered by them, someone of her age would not be easily surprised. She actually thought he was rather handsome.

"Why am I here? That is a story for a rainy day. For now, I'll just say that my search for someone has led me to this city. I've stayed at this inn three nights. I hope to find a better place to sleep, soon." If only he knew the whole story. The long, weary story.

She tilted her head towards Revolzin and smiled. "I am thinking of settling here for awhile."

Moribundus - April 14, 2005 07:44 PM (GMT)
"This is a rather nice city, you really should stay," He said, Though, I haven't been here for long enough to really know this city" This city has, so far, been welcoming to him, and he wouldn't mind knowing someone in it, especially someone like Morrigan. He liked her smile; he didn't get to see many people smile, given that he was usually, a, hiding, or b, hunting. Usually. But sometimes there was a night like this: he goes out, just to get out of the house.

He noticed her looking at his eyes; they had that effect on most people. Not everyday you see someone with blank eyes.

"So, how has your stay been so far?"

Morrigan - April 15, 2005 08:05 PM (GMT)
"Honestly, dull," Morrigan answered, "I sleep and hunt. I was thinking of exploring tomorrow night." Her dark eyes stared off into the shadows. "The other night a mortal mentioned a club. I don't favor noisy, busy, and bright places, but a change of senery would be nice."

Her stare was still fixed on the shadow in the corner. Her "quest" was poking at her brain. Why does that old man's wish still haunt me? It has been centuries. I should give up...

Morrigan was lost in the memory. She forgot about Revolzin, for the moment.

Moribundus - April 15, 2005 08:42 PM (GMT)
"A change would be nice."He said, wondering what club she was talking about. "I don't like those kind of paces either, but once-in-a-while thery're fine."

Morrigan seemed to space out for a moment, proably thinking about something, perhaps the past. We all have dark pasts, not all of us ready to come face-to-face with it.

(ooc: sorry for the short post)

Morrigan - April 16, 2005 06:22 PM (GMT)
Suddenly, Morrigan snapped out of her thoughts.

"How rude of me. I appologize, I spaced out for a moment." She straightened her back and faced Revolzin, again. She looked into his blank eyes. Should I invite him to the club, or not? Oh, I don't see why not! I can still hunt rather he is there or not.

"About the club...it's called The Tequila. It has a different attraction everynight. Tomorrow there will a rock band. I was planning on going alone, but I think I would rather have you as company. Will you join me tomorrow?" She grinned, hoping it would charm him.

Moribundus - April 16, 2005 06:35 PM (GMT)
"Of course, I would love to accompany you." Revolzin said, "So, I'll just meet you there?"

A night out might do me some good. It can't be that good, avoiding the things that mortals seem to enjoy. I've got to learn how to adapt to the modern world.

"A rock band? I've never heard a rock band before, are they any good?" Yet another mortal vice he has yet to try. Maybe he'll like it...Maybe.

Morrigan - April 16, 2005 06:49 PM (GMT)
Her grin widened. "Good! Meet me there at sunset." Her mouth dropped opened when he mentioned he had listened to rock before. Morrigan was very passionate about music.

"I admit, mortals have changed music a lot since I was young. I do miss the old style, but this passed century they created a new kind of music. I adore it. I reminds me of the spirit of tribal music. Rock is just a genre, though. The band tomorrow is metal. A lot of screaming."

The bartender walked by. "Sir, rum and coke, please." He nodded and grabbed a glass.

"You'll have fun. All sorts of interesting people will be there."

Moribundus - April 16, 2005 07:00 PM (GMT)
"Sunset it is." Revolzin replied, "Music has changed since my childhood too The mortals of today have always fascinated him, though he could never quite understand them.

"Screaming can be good at times, though I'm not sure if you could quite classify it as music"

He watched Morrigan order a drink, and he wished he could do the same. Only for a moment though. Certain things had to be sacrificed for the gifts he possessed. Trade-offs.
