Title: The Thirst For Knowledge

Tyros - February 20, 2005 10:56 PM (GMT)
The wind blew hard into the library as Tyros oppened the door with a bit too much force then he would've liked. He was angry. He paced quickly towards the receptionist and slammed a book onto the counter, startling the librarian, an old lady with grey hairs and rugged skin. He put his finger on the cape of the book and said in a rather loud, yet calm tone of voice.

Why is this book so badly treated? It has coffee stains in the middle pages of it and chocolate marks on most of the corners! Don't you people check these kind of things? The women looked panicked at the whole rant. She raised a firm finger to her lips and hissed at Tyros to lower his voice. Don't shush me, mor... lady. All I want is to learn more about dragon lore and this is what happens when I find a decent enough book about the subject.

You are in a library!

I know! Why do you think I came in here with a book?

Tyros continued to talk with the recptionist until she agreed to call their supplier for an equal book. He politely apologised for his behaviour and thanked the woman, going to the book shelves to look for another book on dragons.

Ashened - February 21, 2005 09:33 PM (GMT)
Nadine could not see the front desk from where she stood, but she could hear the entire conversation between the man and the receptionist. She grinned and shook her head a little, skimming through a variety of thick picture books.

She listened to him finish conversing with the woman, then heard his steady footsteps grow louder. As he approached, her chest had a small convulsion, as it often did when her senses were strengthening, and she realized it was a vampire.

She now stood on the opposite side of a shelve from him, and she peered at his eyes through the books and shelves for a minute or two. She blinked. "Rough day?" she then asked. She lowered her head to continue looking at the book that she held.

Tyros - February 22, 2005 09:23 PM (GMT)
Tyros took a blue book from the shelf and started browsing it. As he heard the feminine voice of another vampire, or so he thought by the strong feeling he had in his head, he looked back at the woman with his faint blue eyes, almost grey in color. Still, he wasn't sure of the nature of the new acquaintance.

A rough life, I'd say. But you may or may not know what I'm talking about. He delved into her eyes, as if trying to see her soul. I just need to know more about dragons. Know any good book?

Ashened - February 23, 2005 01:54 AM (GMT)
At first, Nadine shyed away from his eyes. She smirked at the question, and looking down, she picked at the pages of her book with her long nails.

"Well..." she began slowly. "I can't read. Never learned." She flipped through the book she held, showing him that it was only a picturebook, pictures and paintings of landscapes and outerspace. "I'm not nearly as educated as most vampires. I guess you could say I'm at the shallow end of the gene-pool." she breathed, keeping her voice as low as she could. She leaned in close to the bookshelf and gave him a sincere smile from through the shelve, cocking her head to the side. "But never mistake education for intelligence." she told him, tapping her temple with her index finger.

She backed up from the shelve and let out a short laugh.

Tyros - February 23, 2005 08:12 AM (GMT)
Tyros seemed surprised at the information given to him. Most people would just lie and say they had seen a book a few shelves down the corridor. He smiled with her and nodded his head. Dannielle jumped out to his mind.

Dannielle didn't know how to read either...

He seemed to take conscience of what he had said and looked back at the vampire.

So you're a vampire? An intelligent one? Hard to find them, to be true...

Istar Indora - February 23, 2005 03:27 PM (GMT)
The chill wind of the night pricked softly at the skin of the seemingly young man as he once again pulled up the collar of his over coat, as he had done so often against the sometimes sharp winds of this city. Oh, the wind didn't bother him, at least not the way that it should have, considering that he was dressed only in his almost liquid tan trench coat and a deep hunter green variation on his Armani suit, with a white shirt and hunter tie, as well as the Marble Italian leather shoes he wore. Sure the man was well dressed, but the night was very cool, and a shiver should have passed along the lean muscle form that was his body, but still, even as he stood in the library’s door way with the cold blowing in, there was nothing but a smile and strut about him.

“Hi ya Denise.” He said simply to the elderly librarian whom didn’t respond and his deep brown eyes seemed to instantly search the confines of the library, taking note of everyone and everything before him.

The young man didn’t flinch, even as he got a familiar, semi-warning feeling in his chest. Vampires-his kind, Istar could sense them easily. They didn’t even try the hiding trick that he had been taught, but then he thought suddenly. Why would they? This was after all their city, rather the mortals liked it or not, this was definitely a town for the undead.

Giving up on his search, after finding nothing but the vampires, a couple in the back discussing baby names over a book of the same thing, and some guy in the back reading the day’s news paper, Istar Indora sighed and did what he would rather not.

“Denise,” he said, his voice making the moniker sound like a magic word that held the promise of a thousand pleasures “my dear Denise, have you seen Elisa? She told me that she was to work tonight and well…”

“You wanted to collect her so that the two of you could do so unseemly things together?” the old woman finished, with a slight look of disgust. “Well, Shoren or whatever your name is, she isn’t here…she was to work, but she didn’t show up this mourning.”

Istar faked surprise at this. “She didn’t, I hope nothing is wrong!” he said sounding very concerned.

“I wouldn’t know…she is a loner, that girl and well you know better than anyone.” The librarian fussed.

“Yes, I do.” Istar agreed then he left old woman alone to ponder how sweet a guy he was, as the vampire that ended Elisa’s life early that mourning before sunrise, investigated the other two that had appeared in his favorite hunting ground.

When Istar Indora appeared around a bookcase and approached the two, he gave a wide smile, one that showed off his fangs rather recklessly.

"So who are you two, and why are you here? Not that you aren't welcome or anything." he said, his voice cool, but indeed commanding.

Tyros - February 23, 2005 04:42 PM (GMT)
Tyros didn't move his eyes away from Ashened's face, not even after the vile interruption of the male vampire.

I could ask the same question to you... Oh, and forgive me, miss, I'm Tyros. Just Tyros. May I know your name? He looks at the kindred in an armani suit and puts on a somewhat dispassionate face. And yours, too, I gues.

Ashened - February 23, 2005 07:57 PM (GMT)
Nadine kept her head down, her book opened to a painting of an underwater kingdom. "Well, this seems to be a library. Filled with books. What would you think?" she said quietly with a small laugh, directing her voice to the vampire who had just approached. She closed the book she held and looked up at him with a bit of a melancholy smile, then back to Tyros. "I'm Nadine." she told him, "Natty, sometimes. But Nadine will do for now." She put her book back on the shelve and jammed her small hands into the pockets of her eqaully small jacket, smirking and once again, letting her eyes go astray.

She then walked around the shelve to stand next to the two vampires.

(ooc: with the assumption that ishtar was on the same side as tyros =))

Tyros - February 23, 2005 08:27 PM (GMT)
He watched as Nadine made her way to the other side of the shelf. He sized her and noticed her clothes. Something about him twitch inside: he talked to a vampire once a year, previously, and now he was talking with two at the same time.

Well, welcome to the dark side, I guess. Tyros chuckled to himself and put his own book on the shelf. [collor=blue]You're not with one of those covens, are ya? He said to the vampirette.

Ashened - February 23, 2005 09:10 PM (GMT)
Nadine brought one hand up from out of her pocket and ran it through her her long and dry, bleached hair. Her nerves were bad, worse than usual. She returned it to her pocket and inside, flipped a lighter around between her bony fingers.

"Coven? No." she said after letting his question sit for a while in her mind. Then she gave it some slightly more serious thought. Why is it, that she wasn't in a coven, or hadn't even looked into it? She bit her lip. "I think I would be a little intimidated..." she went on, thinking out loud. She blinked, then looked up at him. "I assume...you aren't either?"

Tyros - February 23, 2005 09:17 PM (GMT)
Tyros looked at the male vampire before answering, just to make sure he was still there.

I'm not. I don't like... He didn't continue the phrase, afraid he might hurt her feelings in any way. He didn't like vampires. Not even himself. How would you feel intimidated? you'd be in a family, after all. That's what they say, at least. He leaned against the shelf with his back, continuing to stare at the girl.

Ashened - February 23, 2005 09:34 PM (GMT)
She laughed at the world family. Damned, murderous souls all grouped together in a bar or casino or what not, a family? Though, how was she to know. She had no siblings that she knew of, and her parents were killed when she was still young. The term family was a little foreign to her. Maybe these covens were as close to a family as she would ever get. Still, she was apprehensive, and wasn't about to sign up anytime soon regardless. She knew that it was a thought that she'd be left to ponder a bit more when she was alone.

"It doesn't take much to intimidate me." she told him in answer to his question. "I'm brave enough around mortals, but put me in a room filled with vampires and my confidence isn't quite as high.."

Tyros - February 23, 2005 09:46 PM (GMT)
Bah... Vampires are overrated. For all their strenghts they have to have weaknesses. All these allergies do nobody no good. He smiled faintly before he went on ranting about the covens. The covens... I wouldn't know. Vampires are all the same... well, most of them, anyways. And a "room full of them" is what you'll get in a coven. Covens are overrated as well, I guess. He straightens himself up and grins at Nadine. He makes an exagerated bow, almost in a joking manner, and extends his hand as if asking for hers. Would you be so kind as to accompanny me outside? The libraries tend to crush a man's self-confidence due to the glorious knowledge sealed there.

Ashened - February 23, 2005 09:56 PM (GMT)
Nadine smiled warmly and took his hand. She too, wanted to get out. The smell of dust and old books was irritating her keen senses.

As together they walked towards the exit, her nerves began to get better, and she wasn't so...figgity. "I hope its nice out," she said, "I've been in the library for hours almost...I forget what the weather is like tonight."

((ooc: sorry Istar, looks like we're walking away from you :P You could always follow.. if not, maybe we'll meet again!))

Tyros - February 23, 2005 10:38 PM (GMT)
Tyros was feeling amazingly nervous: not only was he trying to be friends with a vampire, he was also thinking about what would Dannielle think of him if she saw him now. But he was old, now, very old. He had spent his life longing for the days in which he was with his love and he hadn's lived his own long life. Well, maybe now it was time to do it. Maybe now was the time for him to make some friends with people that would understand him. He waved at the old lady behind the counter on his way out and he grinned at the newfound confidence and sense of purpose.

I'm very surprised. I'd think a library would be least place where I would find someone that doesn't know how to read, or a vampire, for that matter. I never pictured vampires as the ones who would search knowledge in human sources. More like devils who should be erased from the face of the earth. He ponders his words. Hope that's not true. I'd throw myself out in the sunlight if I was to lose my first attempt to talk to a vampire. He chuckled and looked at the stars. It's a lovely evening, to be sure. What do you do, when you're not catching stray vampires's attentions in the library?

Ashened - February 23, 2005 10:56 PM (GMT)
She felt rediculously immature for blushing. But, like many things, she had no power over it.

What do I do...

Nadine had always been interested in the Arts. As a child, her talents and abilities weren't given any chance whatsoever, but once she became a vampire and settled in Demaitre, she began to occupy herself with the hobbies she so loved. Unfourtunately, she could indulge in only 4 of the Arts. The 5th, litterature, was out of reach due to her being illiterate.

"Art." she replied, "I paint...and I dance, and I sing.." she went on, almost playfully. "I haven't done any acting persay, but who's to say I'm not acting right now?" She smiled sincerely, showing him that she was only joking, and was not putting on a show for him. This was her. This was Nadine.

Fortitudo Dei - February 24, 2005 01:33 PM (GMT)
Fortitudo and Octavian walked down the street towards the library. Even thought they are best friends it had been at least two months since they had hung out togeather. Octavian gained a little bit of his style from Fortitudo, Octavian was wearing slightly baggy blue jeans covered up with a long black trench coat. Fortitudo wore a long black trench coat, but he had on all black clothes.

"Vampire" Octavain wispered into Foritudo's ear as he pointed down the street. "They or it are coming right towards us."

Fortitudo hated the fact that Octavian had better mental powers then him. "Are you sure I don't feel anything."

"Of course I am sure" Octavian quickly snaped back.

Istar Indora - February 24, 2005 02:26 PM (GMT)
Istar smirked lightly as he watched the other two vampires go, with an old amusement flowing through his head.

A friendly lot, just like the rest! All those damned undead bastards...you would think considering how old most of those fogies are that they would have a little politeness in'em. But yeah...they are all the same, no class, and no taste.

Istar couldn't say he was too angry to see them go, for truth be told, the others creeped him out a lot. Most of them were simply walking statues, up tight and all stuck on that whole Anne Rice kick, being moody and tortured. They were about as much good company as a bag of wet cats.

Still being ignored did light a fire in the belly of the "young man." But just as quickly as it was lit, he put it out; he couldn't just go around killing ass holes after all. He would kill three-fourths the world’s population going that route. This brought a slight laugh to Indora's lips and he felt better, even though he had been covering up for another feeding murder. Something he hated a lot, hell he would rather have simply eaten his next contract...but then that had been too long in coming.

Shaking his head to rid it of errand thoughts, Istar simply sighed. Then reaching into his pocket for his cigarettes, the vampire started for the door. When he reached Denise's counter, he gave a slight wave and felt a bit guilt for not taking the time to talk with her as he had been doing while Elisa was alive, but rather quickly he put this away and stepped back out into the chill night.

Taking a cig from his pack, Istar let the rest fall back into his coat pocket, and then he brought the cancer stick to his lips and waited as his other hand slid down past his holstered gun into his pants pocket where he kept a box of matches. Sliding the matches out, he struck one on the box and shielding the flame, brought it to his cig. It was just as he took the first puff of gray/black smoke and shook out his match, that he noticed the others.

Frowning he saw the two vampires from the inside, then his frown deepened as he spotted two more of the undead, though these two were dressed like they had been kicked out of the Matrix.

Running a finger around the rim of his fedora, a nervous habit, Istar went deadly still. There was no telling what was going on, but as far as all of the sudden undead activity went, Indora doubted that they had all come to check out the library.

Tyros - February 24, 2005 05:36 PM (GMT)
You wouldn't be acting now. It's hard to fool someone this old. He said with a grave voice as he looked forward. He then came back to his own self and chuckled. I believe this is what a true vampire would say. So I suppose you only practise arts for fun?

He could tell there were more vampires around and he felt uneasy. For all he knew, the guy in the armani suit could just be part of a gang that was actually coming together to take them on. He looked around and spotted two men in modern style clothing. He nudged Nadine in the elbow and nodded at them.

Ashened - February 24, 2005 06:16 PM (GMT)
Nadine looked up at the vampires approaching and felt a strange sensation in her chest, almost as if she had just swallowed fire and it was slowly making its way down the walls of her throat. She soon also spotted the vampire who they had 'met' inside, exiting the building. She stepped back, almost cowarding behind Tyros, struggling to not make it to obvious that she was more than just a little uncomfortable with the situation. Did she have any reason to trust Tyros more than the other vampires? No. But somehow, she did. Still, only a fraction more. Her eyes darted around wildly, to all four vampires, then down the street, scouting out possible exits if needed.

"Yes..for fun.." she replied absent-mindedly. She was evidently very distracted.

Tyros - February 24, 2005 06:43 PM (GMT)
Tyros felt the frightned girl's grip in his back and was slightly startled. For a moment he thought she could be one of them and it was a trap. But she was just afraid of the other vampires. Tyros put a comforting hand on her shoulder and smiled confidently.

Don't worry. I'm sure they want nothing to do with us. So, where do you come from? And, more importantly, where are you heading? He said as he looked deep into her eyes and ignored the other vampires, as a sign of disinterest.

Istar Indora - February 24, 2005 07:34 PM (GMT)
Istar took a long drag, holding the noxious smoke of his cigarette in his lungs much longer than a mortal man could have managed, and while he did this his gaze was caught on the newest additions to the arts and education scene.

With a slow and cautious pace, he examined the newbies, obviously a predator spying on another and searching for weakness or threat.

"God..." Istar began, but came abruptly to a halt with the red hot pain in his head. "Oww...damn it. I really gotta stop using religious references." he grumbled, feeling like an idiot.

Yeah, Indora had a knack for that kind of carelessness. He mused on this for a moment, knowing how stupid it had been to suddenly give himself a migraine when he could be attacked at any moment. But then that was him, reckless, and loving it-he just hoped that he could continue to love it.

Sparing a glance at the two vampires from the inside, Istar realized that he hadn't walked into a trap, or at least it didn't look it. The girl, Nadine looked like he knew he must, genuinely worried and not at all liking all of the sudden company. The guy, Tyros, was that his name? Indora really didn't care, he looked like he was going to ignore the situation and hope it went away. Istar wasn't about to hope and prayer was out of the question, so instead he continued to watch.

Ashened - February 24, 2005 09:06 PM (GMT)
"I'm not worried." she spat to Tyros, lying of course. Then she smiled, a forced smile, to reassure him that it wasn't her intention to be cold to him.

"I'm was born in Paris.. into an American family, hense having no french accent." She then paused, thinking that that maybe wasn't the answer he was looking for. She didn't want to go into detail about her life, growing up, anyways. "And heading? Oh.. I'm not really heading anywhere. I guess..I am, as they say, living life one day at a time."

She rarely took her eyes off the other vampires as he spoke.

Fortitudo Dei - February 25, 2005 12:24 AM (GMT)
"They are young and weak" Octavian said to Fortitudo with a smile.

"Good" Fortitudo answered with a smile.

As they aproched the two others they both broke into a run straight at the others. As they closed on the others Octavian pulled out his basterd sword and Fortitudo pulled out a long sword. "I am in the killing mood" shouted Fortitudo.

"As am I" returned Octavian. As they both pointed their swords at their own targets.

"So the question we have for you two is do you think you can dance with us and not wind up dead" Octavian spoke into the two Vampire's minds.

Ashened - February 25, 2005 12:59 AM (GMT)
((ooc: whao.))

Nadine had not seen the two vampires draw their swords, but she heard their message loud and clear, almost booming and bouncing off the walls of her mind. She became instantly stiff, and slowly, she turned to see the shinning metal of their drawn swords. She let out a long uneven breath, and her eyes became narrow and glazed over, filled with a fear that only a death-threat from two other male immortals could provide her with.

As the vampires closed in on her and Tyros, and as time ran out, she became frantic and yelled out the only things that she could formulate in her petrified and confused mind. "Stop!" she called to them. She then shot her head over to the other vampire, Istar, whom she knew was watching them. She knew he had no reason to help her, and that perhaps even he too was a threat. But completely and utterly helpless, she sent his mind a mental plead. "Do something...please.."

She stayed behind Tyros and watched the two vampires. Thoughts raced through her mind.

Who are they? Why are they doing this?
I'm so afraid.
What did I do?
I am a coward.
What do they want with me?

Tyros - February 25, 2005 08:08 AM (GMT)
Tyros, very slowly, turned his head to the two attacking vampires. he made a greatly annoyed face as he showed the sword he had in his hilt: a short sword with a silvered tip, just in case a situation like this might arise.

You don't want to do this. And besides, by the look of those pants, you can't dance very well. Leave, please. Tyros remained confident and staring at them with his worn out eyes.

Fortitudo Dei - February 25, 2005 01:06 PM (GMT)
"You are lucky little girl that the man has a weapon because we wish to kill, but we don't want to waist time with a fight." Fortitudo bared his fangs as he spoke.

A few moments later a group of six boys acting "getto" walked up on the other side of the street. "Wow cheak that out they are going to fight with swords"

The leader of the group hit the other one who spoke in the gut causing the boy to fall foward onto the ground. "Man swords are nothing compared to my tech 9" the leader aimed his comment at the Vampires not his own crew.

"They would be easy kills and we can feed" Octavian said as he licked his langs.

The first attack came from Octavian his blade cut of the leader's legs and Fortitudo cut off the boy's head a few moments later. Now working as a machine they killed the rest of the boys exept for the one that the leader hit. The boys that they did kill they worked so effecently that it looked like Fortitudo and Octavian where dancing.

Octavian walked over and picked up the boy and lifted him so the boy would see what killed him. As soon as the boy was touched he started to beg for his life.

Feeling a little sorry for the boy fortitudo taped Octavian "let him go."

"Are you sure, he could cause a lot of trouble." after Octavian spoke he licked the boy's neck. "So young and so fresh."

"Yes I am sure" however Fortitudo was just playing with the boy's mind making the boy think that he was in no danger. Quickly Fortitudo stepped behind the boy and begain to feed. Just after Fortitudo started to feed Octavian started to feed until the boy was finshed.

Tyros - February 25, 2005 02:07 PM (GMT)
Tyros relaxed a bit as soon as the two annoying vampires decided against attacking him. As soon as they attacked the group, he became horrified at the lack of intelligence in the two attacker's heads. Why attack the group so savagely? What wrong had they done to them. He couldn't take the offense they had done to him with that blatant murder.

You're gonna pay dearly for this. You're nothing but soulless murdrers! You deserve no life or unlife! Tyros drew his short sword, the silver on its tip sparkling as the street lights shone upon it. Defend yourselves! Tyros yelled as he stroke an attacking pose.

Fortitudo Dei - February 25, 2005 02:42 PM (GMT)
With the the feeling of the kill in his body being called out was not a good think for Octavian's inner peace. Octavian felt the bonds on his black rage breaking no longer could the buddist's teaching hold down his blood lust. Fortitudo looked at his best friend in horror as Octavian's eyes when from their white to a bright red. At that moment Fortitudo knew that he had to get out of there. "Run you all he can't hold it for much longer" Even before he finnished speaking he ran as fast as he could, but that was not fast enought because Octavian's Throwing knfe cought him in the leg.

Octavian let the rage consume him he had no control anymore, he just wanted to kill. Turning his attention back to the other Vampires, he let out a blood curtaling howl. He used his long unused power to send mental attacks every half a second not even the most powerful Vampire could stand up to his mental attacks for to long.

OOC(( I know that it is cheap so he will regain control soon))

Tyros - February 25, 2005 03:39 PM (GMT)
(ooc: cheap? that's just plain godmodding... I mean, Tyros has a secret laser beam up his ass that could cut France in half in a matter of seconds but won't until he is obviously in danger. :violin: )

Tyros shielded his mind against any influence from his surroundings as soon as he began to feel pain wrecking havoc inside his head. He showed off his teeth in sign of agression and turned to Nadine.

Go now! He quickly turned to the vampire watching the whole thing and yelled at him too. Take care of her! If you don't, I'll come after you next.

He stared at the raging vampire and could see nothing in his eyes. Emptyness. He didn't dwell on the thought for too long, though. He couldn't. He ran for the vampire and made a thrusting attack to see if he could hit with the silvered tip of his sword.

Istar Indora - February 25, 2005 04:56 PM (GMT)
Istar Indora watched without movement as the two Matrix rejects brandished something so unexpected and odd that his jaw dropped for a moment.

Swords? These two bastards are walking around the city carrying swords? What the hell is this, the dark ages? he thought, a sneer quickly grasping his opal visage.

It was only an instant later that the vampire hit man’s hand was resting reassured on the butt of his .50 cal. Desert Eagle as his other hand was unbuttoning the breast of his jacket so that he could draw and fire in one fluid motion. However it was in this instant that Istar heard the voice in his head and in his ears.

"Do something...please.." the girl’s voice pleaded, soft, vulnerable, sweet and for a moment Istar found that he could think of doing nothing else.

Then it seemed as if something dark took root in him, and his dark brown eyes seemed to glaze for a moment.

Why should I get involved? He asked himself but then just as quickly answered. Because those two are freaks and you’re in just as much trouble as these two are.

At this, the haze that had griped Indora seemed to dissipate and a long amused sneer worked its way into the previously grim version of the expression.

“Alright darlen...I’ll help.” Istar heard himself say, and then his gaze fell once again upon the two freaks with blades.

By this time, the scent of blood was clear on the night air, a sanguine heat that rolled like waves over the “young vampire” and in this heat he felt need and desire. It came upon him so quickly that it glazed his gaze once more, but then it had arrived and Istar Donny Indora, Contract Killer was gone and in his place stood Istar Indora, the young man that had been forced to make a life for himself on the streets. This Istar wasn’t the flamboyant killer, but instead the young man that stood up for his friends and despite his condition was always loyal.

It was this seemingly long dead young man that looked at the kill frenzy of the two as they ripped their way through a forest of humanity, and grew furious with their cruelty, then came the pain, so dark and violent, a bomb going off in his head.

Istar staggered for a moment not sure what was going on, but feeling a dark inferno scorching his mind. It was horrid; Istar could feel the pain not in his body, but seemingly in his soul, deeper than pain should go. But still he fought it, clawed at the street as he fell to his knees; he clawed until his hands bleed slowly from their scrapes. God the pain was immense, it was so black and evil, but then that was what they were, weren’t they, evil monsters. Vampires that had seemingly given up their humanity, something that even a contract killer could not do. Still he had agreed to his change, he had wanted power and Rose had given it to him, loving the bloodlust that lurked in his eyes and now that power was a rage in his veins. It was with this rage, that he only faintly heard the other vampire’s words and his threat. This brought a true smirk to Istar’s lips, and then he turned to the girl, whom looked terrified and smiled the softest smile that his fangs would allow.

“Please find somewhere to hide…this won’t take long.”

It was with these words, that Istar felt the pain ebb and his mind seeming to shield itself from further attack. Now without the pain, Istar glared at the boy toy duo and faster than mortal eyes could ever have followed he drew his gun. Its weight was a comfort in his hand and the gold plated titanium engine of destruction seemed to illuminate the night as its surface reflected the artificial light of the street lamps and its tiger striped pattern was clear.

“Party’s over boys…” Indora remarked, firing a .50 cal slug at the nearest of the two.

Ashened - February 25, 2005 05:03 PM (GMT)
Nadine gave a frightened and almost child-like nod, and took a few tottery steps back, her eyes fixed on the swords, their shinning metal. She then spun around and ran to the side of the library, a 'safe' distance from the oncoming battle, and leaned against the wall, listening, struggling to keep her uneven breaths from overpower the sounds.
She listened not only to the vampires, but to the screams inside her own mind. Run, Nadine, run. Although she was hiding, she couldn't completely leave Tyros after the kindness he had showed her. Istar as well. Strangers, Nadine. Nothing but strangers with their own hidden intentions. Everyone's got an angle. "Damn.." she breathed through gritted teeth, frustrated to the fullest extent with the situation that she had somehow got involved with.

She turned her head around the corner and sent a message to both Tyros and Istar. "I'm..I'm sorry." she told them, as if this attack was he fault. She had her doubts, but she feared that it may have been. Her memory didn't serve her too well...perhaps she had met these two fiends before.

Fortitudo Dei - February 26, 2005 10:19 PM (GMT)
Octavian was controlled by his rage he could not stop the fight he just had to fight. Blocking the lunge by the sword wielding Vampire, he was hit in the shoulder by the 50. cal slug knocking him back a few feet. The hit caused his rage to grow so all he felt was the fight. He did not sense Richard jump off the building behind him until it was too late. Richard back handed Octavian with a gauntlet covered hand in the back of the head instantly knocking him out.

"Fiend you corrupted Fortitudo. Do you know how long it took me to train him?" Richard kicked Octavian one last time. Looking at Fortitudo "well you are his best friend so I guess he would like it if I spared you and teach you both again”

Looking at the sword wielding Vampire, Richard put his hand out so the other Vampire could shake it. "I am Richard and I will deal with these two and don't worry it won't happen again."

The black steel gauntlet matched the rest of the armor the Richard was wearing, but it was covered up by a cloak that only let any one else see his legs and hands.

Tyros - February 27, 2005 12:53 PM (GMT)
Tyros looked hard into the new vampire, distrust raging in his mind. How could he be sure this one wouldn't attack him as soon as he shaked his hand or turned his back? For all he cared, he was just another vampire in the world of men, an aberration that mocked nature. He didn't sheathe his sword but lowered it a bit. He didn't shake his hand, either.

Who are these two? Anger could be easily detected in his voice. As he said this, he sent a mental message to Nadine. "I think you can come out now."

Fortitudo Dei - February 27, 2005 01:13 PM (GMT)
"The one with the dagger in his leg is my student, but he thought I got killed five years ago. So he got a new trainer. Who I am not sure." How Richard wished that he could have not been shot five times so Fortitudo would still listen to him. Pointing at Octavian "this one is Fortitudo's best friend one of the few Vampires I think that corrupted him." Richard already distrusted and hated Octavian.

Fortitudo could barely keep from falling down , but he still stood up and walked over to the new Vampire. "What did you do with Octavian?" Fortitudo felt a strange feeling wash over him the kind he got when Richard was around, but Richard was dead. However, the close he walked to the new Vampire the stronger the feeling became, until the new Vampire turned to fact Fortitudo and lowered his cloak and took of his helmet. "Richard! How, but you got shot?"

"It is a long story I will explain later and you are going to answer a few questions of mine, but now you have lost a lot of blood." Using his mental powers to speed the process Richard took off his gauntlet and moved pack the chainmail until you could see Richard wrist. "Here it is not as good as Human blood, but for now it will do." Slowly Fortitudo bite into Richard and drank a little and as soon as Fortitudo pulled away the wounds started to heal.

Ashened - February 27, 2005 07:40 PM (GMT)
Nadine heard Tyros's message. It wasn't as reassuring as she would have liked it to be, but regardless, she came out from around the corner and approached the group of vampires.

Keeping her distance, she eyed them all one by one, greatly confused with the turn of events. "I don't understand.." she said quietly. Then, realizing that the threat was seemingly neutralized, she gained a bit of a new found bravery, and spoke up. "What is all this?" she demanded with much contempt in her voice. Her eyes narrowed, then suddenly softened, thinking of the two stangers, Tyros and Istar, and again of their kindness towards her. "Thank you.." she told them both without moving her lips. She glared at this new vampire, Richard, who seemed to have haulted the attack. She didn't thank him, yet. This wasn't quite over in her mind.

Istar Indora - March 1, 2005 01:24 PM (GMT)
If it wasn't over in Nadine's mind, it sure as hell wasn't over in Istar's. The assassin didn't hold grudges over business matters, but being randomly attacked in the streets, you bet your @$$ he was angry.

With a sneer, he glared at Octavian, or as Donny Indora thought of him, asshole number one. Then his glare slipped to the other one, Fortitudo and Istar felt the sudden urge to blow his head from his body. That was the good thing about a .50 Desert Eagle; it’s a hand gun that can decapitate. Despite his feelings however, Istar didn’t have the ammo or the time to waste with idiots, for him both time and ammo were money.

When Istar’s gaze finally fell on Richard, he found nothing but contempt for the armor clad odd ball. And being Istar Indora, he had no qualms about letting this be known.

“So Richard, you’re some kinda vampire trainer? I think you need to take both of these freaks back home and paper train em’ or at least teach them to sit, cause if I see either of them waving pointy objects my way again…they’re gonna play dead, in ash mode.” With that said, and another glare directed squarely at Richard, Istar opened his coat once more and slid his Eagle back into its holster at his side.

Still even as Istar holstered his gun, he was ready at any moment to send a fist through the chest of anyone stupid enough to think him vulnerable without the gun in his hand.

Tyros - March 2, 2005 06:22 PM (GMT)
Leave now with your play monkeys. Tyros replied to Richard as he turned away to face Ishtar, while sheathing his sword. You've ruined my mood for the night, Richard. I hope you're glad. He finally turns to face Ishtar as he is putting away his own gun. He lets out a faint smile as he slightly bows his head towards the other vampire.

Thanks for your help. And I'm sorry for my behaviour back at the library. I shouldn't be too quick to judge vampires. He said with an honest voice and honest meaning.

Istar Indora - March 3, 2005 01:26 PM (GMT)
Istar smirked slightly, amusement playing softly over his lean features. It was a moment later that with one fluid motion he dropped, went into a sweep aimed at Tyros, then without even caring if the other vamp fell or not, drew his Eagle with all the preternatural speed he could manage.

Holding his gun to Tyros' head, a sharp fanged smile came to Istar and he pulled the trigger. The gun clicked, it was a loud empty sound that seemed to fill the entire night, yet Istar didn't seem to notice or be surprised at the sound.

"Huh...outta ammo." Istar laughed, his gaze meeting that of Tyros. "You were right the first time. All of us are jerks." he snapped, then turned as if to leave.

Istar didn't know what it was that he had been trying to prove with his sudden stunt, but it was a lesson. A lesson a lot like the ones he received from Alex. Looking briefly over his shoulder, Indora watched the faces of the undead, still smirking to himself.

"A hell of a job, for a hell of a world." he whispered almost silently, looking from Tyros to the group of male vampires.
