Title: A Night At The Opera
Description: for Calpurnia, once she applies/anyone

Lucca - January 23, 2005 01:19 PM (GMT)
It was about 7:30 PM, and the Ave Verum Concert Hall had just opened its doors to the theatre for their 8:00 production of the opera "Candide". Lucca stood in the middle of the street, watching as life passed by him. He closed his eyes, and within seconds, was sitting at the first seat of the uppermost balcony. The stage was beautiful, or at least what could be seen of it, considering the curtain was closed. Lucca was wearing a black tuxedo with a tail and all, and a completely black ensemble, for the exclusion of his tie. It was blue, made from a silk that shined in the light.

From where he was, the orchestra could be seen down below in the pit. They were tuning and what not. Over the years, Lucca was able to refine his hearing until he had perfect pitch, a task that no mortal could ever achieve in one lifetime. Most people are gifted with relative pitch, but for Lucca, that wasn't good enough. Lucca wanted the ability to hear pitch, and recognize that it was a G# immediately. He would spend days just listening to one note repeatedly, until he could memorize its pitch. He did this with all 13 notes of the chromatic, in seven different octaves.

The only negative quality of his learned perfect pitch is that it made him quite cynical when it comes to professional musicians. He could already hear that from the upper balcony, the second clarinetist’s B was flat, and that the entire second violin section was sharp. One could say that for Lucca, it was both a gift and a curse.

Barely five minutes had passed since Lucca had entered the hall, and already he sensed something…a strong emotion, a familiar emotion, although he couldn’t pin point what it was. There was no scent yet, but Lucca could feel the person within him. Either way, he didn’t think anything of it. There was only one person who he’d actually be surprised to see, and the chances of it happening were slim to none.

As Nevinino entered the concert hall, he made his way up the stairs and turned right into where his seat was located. Opening the door slowly he saw that a man was seated a few seats down from his. He felt some strange feeling about the man but, he quickly dismissed the feelings as he took his seat. Nevinino was dressed in his black tuxedo, with the top hat and everything, he felt best that he dressed properly for the occasion.

After a few moments the curtains began to draw back and the opera began. Sitting back in his chair he looked over at the man. Something about this man had him entranced, it was weird. Turning away from the man and back to the stage he began to enjoy the opera.

Lucca - January 23, 2005 05:49 PM (GMT)
Lucca looked on as the overture began. Ahh, the Overture to Candide - one of Bernstien's best works, by far. He loved this opera. He saw it when it first premiered, and has seen it many times since, but never gets tired of it. As he was watching, he felt the presence of another being - it was watching him. He looked over his shoulder, but didn't see anyone in paticular. Lucca didn't like it when people were watching him.

Out of the corner of his eyes, Lucca could see a man...tall, dark, younger than himself. He got a strange feeling from him - quite possibly, he was another vampire, but Lucca didn't make any fuss over it. He didn't want a fight to ruin his evening.

Lucca was sitting by himself on the balcony, no one next to him. He hoped it would remain that way.

The opera was coming to a close, as the light dimmed and the curtains closed everyone began to applaud. Nevinino got up out of his chair and walked to the balcony over looking the people that were seated on the floor. He applauded and smiled as the cast took their bow on the stage. Then once again the curtains closed and with that everyone began to leave.

But, Nevinino couldn't leave until he found out why he had a feeling for this man. He could be another vampire which did seem likely. Walking to the exit he grasped the door handle. Before he opened it he turned back to the man. " Uh, I was wondering if what was your name" he said slowly as he stared at the man.

As the opera ended, Lucca stood up to aplaud the cast and orchestra. "Well, not one of the best perfmances I've ever seen, but...I guess it's what Canada has to offer...hmm.." he thought to himself. Lucca turned around, hearing the voice of the man he had seen before.

"Uh, I was wondering if what was your name"

Lucca didn't show any expression in his face. He studied the man with his eyes before answering him. A young man, a stranger, talking to Lucca? It was odd indeed. usually he just blended in with the crowd, but this man noticed him in paticular. Lucca then answered him in a deep voice.

"You...want to know my name?"

The seriousness in his voice was a bit intiminating, even Lucca. He was feeling especially cold this evening, but decided to just play hard to get with the man. maybe he could have an early dinner.

"My name is Lucca...although, I dont know what business you have in knowing it. And what, my dear sir, shall I call you?"

[x] - January 23, 2005 07:10 PM (GMT)
Lucca's voice was deep and a bit intimindating too. Taking his hand off the door handle he focused his attention on Lucca.

" You can call me Nevinino but, Nev for short I hate my formal name" he said slowly walking closer to the man.

Um. I wonder if he feels something too. He must be a vampire too I can feel it
Nevinino didn't know how to explain to the man that he felt something in him but, he thought he'd be straight forward about it.

" I sense something in you, are you an immortal such as myself?" he said in a timid manner. He stood there waiting for Lucca's answer.

Lucca - January 23, 2005 07:25 PM (GMT)
Lucca looked at the man before him and smiled wickedly. This was the first time in a long time that a vampire had openly asked if he was an immortal. "Does he not know the dangers in what he does?" Lucca stepped back and sat in a chair near the edge of the balcony, putting his feet up on the railing as if he owned the place.

"Do you not know the consequences of asking such questions?...you must be young, new to this life."

The man was an immortal as well. Lucca wasn't really excited or anything, but figured it would be more interesting than talking to a mortal. He was relaxed and calm, hoping the man would have some sort of interest in him...whatever it may be.

"When you've been around for hundreds of years, you learn the proper things to say in greeting someone...and you learn ways to ask questions without speaking, a skill needed in the life of the undead unless you want to be killed by demons and such....or worse, ignorant mortals...

Lucca had his nose in the air, but it was necessary. A young vampire should know to treat a near ancient with respect.

[x] - January 23, 2005 07:51 PM (GMT)
" I know their are tons of consequences in asking those questions to a complete stranger but, I don't care" he said now leaning against the wall facing Lucca.

" Yes I'm quite young only at the age of 64, you must be over a thousand years of age if I am correct."

Lucca was coming off a bit rude but, it didn't offen Nevinino one bit. He folded in his arms infront of his chest.

" & may I ask if you are in any covens we have here in Demaitre?" he asked curiously. He tried to avoid anyone that was in a coven since he was an independant.

Lucca - January 23, 2005 09:39 PM (GMT)
"Covens...are for the weak, the needy, the dependent. I am part of no such organizations. But, if you have come here to recruit me for one, then you're wasting your time, and you're risking your life. Such a young vampire you are...such a beautiful face as well..."

Lucca wasn't interested in being part of any coven. He enjoyed his life as a free living vampire, and didn't care for any groups of any kind. Lucca then looked at the dark man who was now leaning against a wall. He looked into his eyes, sensing his emotions. He could feel some sort of attraction the man had for him, but didn't know of what kind.

"Tell me my dear Nev, would you like to ask me any more questions, or simply follow me back to my home?"

Lucca was trying to pinpoint any traces of attraction the man had for him, if any. He stood up from his seat, and approached him with deep, serious eyes.

"Well?"

Lucca was now so close that he was nearly pressed up against Nev.

[x] - January 23, 2005 09:49 PM (GMT)
" I agree, the covens are for the weak and the afraid. I'm an independant too" he said as Lucca rised from his chair and came over to him. Lucca was now nearly pressed up against Nevinino, Nev began to breathe a little quicker. Taking his hand and placing it onto Lucca's waist he moved forward so now that their bodies were touching slightly.

" I wish to follow you home and then follow you to your bed" he said slowly looking into Lucca's serious eyes. He was kept in suspense as he waiting to see what Lucca's reaction would be.

Lucca - January 23, 2005 09:58 PM (GMT)
Lucca moved his hand around Nev's back, gripping it firmly. He then kissed the man violently, letting his tongue tease Nev's. He pulled away suddenly, and took a step back, releasing Nev from his grip.

"Hmm....it'll take a bit more than that to work your way into my pants, no?"

Lucca then walked forward, heading towards one of the slightly open windows of the top balcony, and stepped up to the ledge. The air was cold and brisk, but Lucca didn't mind it.

"...If you want me that badly....then follow my scent..."

And with that, Lucca stepped off the ledge, and fell out of the window. Of course, he didn't just fall, but levitated down rather quickly. He flew forward for his appartment.

[ooc: to Lucca's appartment...wherever it is...i'll let you know, x, lol]

[x] - January 23, 2005 10:16 PM (GMT)
He licked his lips softly as Lucca walked away. As Lucca jumped off the ledge Nevinino began to follow his scent. Jumping off the ledge he walked out of the opera exit doors. Looking around he didn't see Lucca insight. Using his scent as his guide he jumped up onto the building rooftop. Running over a few rooftops he arrived at where Lucca's scent ended.

Jumping down from the tops he entered the apartment.
