Miserable. Need new job to get out of depression....
Felix - October 12, 2005 01:33 PM (GMT)
Rubbish. See moaning posts passim. But also with addition of Hounslow Council being devious incompetent scum.
I have just over five pounds a day for the rest of the month.
Ho ho ho.
So you moan all day - you are Felix
cupid's bullet - October 12, 2005 01:51 PM (GMT)
My back and it's prolapsed disc hurt a lot. <_<
Apart from that, I'm pretty fucking tip-top, thank you! :D
David - October 12, 2005 02:44 PM (GMT)
Unemployed for 18 months ... still suffering after-effects of nervous breakdown 18 months ago due to evil slime at work (who then kicked me out and bought me off with a year's pay on condition I wouldn't speak out about how corrupt they are) ... and totally skint, too. Managed to save marriage after very shaky period, my kids love me too, which helps.
SO: Fucking marvellous, thanks! :D
(Actually it's not as bad as it sounds, but it could be better ... !)
(And I'm listening to a bloody fantastic live Can cdr I comp'd from various lovely tapes ... before which I listened to my new Live 1983 Fall comp cdr which is the best Fall CD in years ... so all is cool!!)
Martin - October 12, 2005 03:13 PM (GMT)
Okay...not much work today...none in fact: holiday here.
fallfandave - October 12, 2005 03:17 PM (GMT)
I tell myself jokes... do bits on the fanzine... drive members of my family around... do some music and singing..... IT'S AN AMAZING LIFE!
other days I worry that I will owe millions of pounds.... because of interest effects on what I owe....
and then I go back to not giving a shit about that.
fallfandave - October 12, 2005 03:20 PM (GMT)
....and now I've had an argument with my wife.
Life Is Good :)
pinhead69 - October 12, 2005 03:39 PM (GMT)
mustn't grumble, life is full of ups and downs, i just get on with it, its nearly the weekend, i live for the weekend, its when i can get few pints, hang out with my family, go to football, listen to lots of music, put in a cinema visit, visit friends and family, walk in the countryside. work is the part of the process that pays for all of these things.
works a cnut though eh?
AndyM - October 12, 2005 03:40 PM (GMT)
Living a life of "quiet desperation," so really just like most people.
Really, really hate my new job though. Absolutely miserably boring and isolating.
So again, really just like most people.
Carry on!
Andy
imaglasgowmanmyself - October 12, 2005 04:29 PM (GMT)

mik - October 12, 2005 06:06 PM (GMT)
Full and happy.
Good food and a quick trip to the library which yielded some good cd's made for a fine lunch hour.............
terrywaitesez - October 12, 2005 06:51 PM (GMT)
Fair to middling would be an apt description I guess - always seem to be skint despite working full time (my own fault - shouldn't have got the loans & credit cards etc to such a fucking stupid degree) I have had to move back in with my Dad following a relationship breakdown. Could not afford it on my own owing to the general skintness that is prevailant. I have redundancy hanging over my head which will be announced, get on this, on the 16th December. Selfish bastards. I can't decide if it'll be a good or bad thing yet. I am watching the Bunnymen that night though, so it may lessen the blow, coupled with copious amounts of alcohol of course.
However, I am relatively healthy, have a family and friends that I hold dearly, and have recently met someone new. I am proud to say that I pulled on a training course that the council was running for all of its departments. It was certainly more interesting than their usual courses!! Early doors yet, but taking it day by day. I'm a bit concerned about the age thing - she's 11 years younger than me, but it's all good at the minute.
Add this to the fact that Fall Heads Roll has only been in my CD player for three days and I am still into the newness of it, and as I say, fair to middling. What a fantastic album it is. I am really chuffed with it. It is well and truly spot on.
Actually, you know what? Fuck it, I am happy! There's far more good things going on than bad! :P

Mere Pseud. - October 12, 2005 07:48 PM (GMT)
very good, mainly due to the current amount of work (enough free time but also enough to pay the rent) - hopefully even better when Fall Heads Roll finally arrives

Hmm, McCulloch slept with an ex-girlfriend of mine...
Feeling like a serial killer waiting to happen at the moment, lots of little things (and a few big ones!) making me feel grouchy.

Why should this matter?

Martin - it shouldn't and I am going to try and not let it do so. I am not accustomed to seeing anyone so much younger than me is all. It's a new experience for me. I just keep thinking about how when I graduated, she was 10. I can't help it, it keeps popping into my head! It shouldn't matter though, she's the most interesting person I've met in a long time. It's all about taking people for who they are isn't it?
(Incidentally, I'm 31 - she's 20)

Nice one! That made me laugh, and it's spot on!!
I have played her some Fall though - it was a right bastard to try and figure out how to get her instantly hooked. Plumped for TNSG in the end. As with all women I've been involved with, she thought it was shite! Should have put something else on?!?

NickRealAleSophisticate - October 12, 2005 08:56 PM (GMT)
Life just bounces! so I try not to worry too much.
Finished long term contract in June & decided to take time out. Really loved it - being at home, long country walks with the dogs - Ashes cricket summer - bit of travelling, cycling to real ale pubs etc etc
Have just started new job as the misses was going on about all the things I hadn't done in the months I had been off - anyway sort of feel relaxed for first time in many years & look forward to a couple of Fall gigs to make me feel even better.
Life as they say, just bounces ..

well, i don't find it odd and i'm only a year younger than she is, if that's reassuring. which it probably isn't, since i'm just a stranger writing via the intarweb, but, yep.

My situation was very similar to yours. My wife and I are 11 years different in age; we were 21 and 32 when we started dating. Now we are 31 and 42 and have 2 kids and get along together very well. The age thing has never been a problem.
I say go with it! After all, age is only a number............
Green - October 13, 2005 02:05 AM (GMT)
A bit sleepy, just woke up after an hour nap, started work at 3 am today. Work is going well, the weather's lovely up here, a couple of Stella's in the fridge will top off an excellent day.
Not that I really like beards that much, but for the first time ever I've gone three weeks without shaving my facial hair, got a bunch of compliments for doing so. Looks pretty good, if I do say so myself, but it's only gonna be around for a couple more days, the whole thing started when I was pressed for time before work one day (and starting at 3 am doesn't leave me a whole lot of time for the other things).

I'm coming to terms with becoming a parent last week in the USA, and the fact that I'll be returning to Ireland in a couple of days, and leaving the little 'un behind with his Ma.
Still looking forward to checking out FHR.
I'm going to Berkeley, California tomorrow to spend an hour or two checking out music shops, it's gonna be a scorcher of a day, life is good.

Head full of snot... just lodged tax return, waited for teh TV ariel man to show, which he didn't.. feels like my days off this week were wasted.

Quite tired. Very hot. Just taken tablets to de-worm my intestines so also feeling abit queezy, if you know what I mean. But on the whole abit like the curates egg..........good in parts.
Longsighted - October 13, 2005 08:52 AM (GMT)
Fantastic. Always fantastic. Despite not having received FHR yet!
There've been a few threads like this in the pasty year or so and I'm always surprised by how many people are a bit down. Sorry to hear of all the problems and I hope that sharing them here may help diminish them.
We just went on our first safari trip and it was f****n amazing! So I'm filled with the "can't believe how weirdly wonderful my life is" feelings.
Age difference in a relationship? Who cares?! Once you know yourself, you know what you like, regardless of age. We've got good friends back in Canada who have 13 years between them. He was one of her university lecturers! But they're made for each other.
As someone else already quoted, "I've never felt better in my life" and I feel like that all the time. :D

But seriously, if you're trying to get shagged then pop on a bit of Marvin Gaye
