Opel - November 23, 2009 12:48 PM (GMT)

I'm currently sat in my dressing gown having a can't be arsed day. Listening to an MP3 compilation of my best of 2009. I work as a security guard without reaching my full potential in life. Married with a son and reasonably happy on this grey, rainy day.Oh and reading the FoF because it makes my day.

claudia - November 23, 2009 01:45 PM (GMT)
Sitting in my warm, cosy home pretending to work with the dog asleep at my feet. It's pissing it down outside and I have to pick up the kids soon.

Divorced, solicitor, two children who spend half their time with me. I miss them when they are with their dad. Sometimes I'm happy sometimes I'm not. I drink too much red wine and smoke too many fags, when I become prone to self-pity.

In fact, I do everything too much.

I am a total bigot about politics and music.

I do voluntary work for the Samaritans and the Labour Party.

I am generally kind.

I have had the same 3 New Year's resolutions for 20 years.

I work hard and am every day grateful for what I have.

Neal Cassady - November 23, 2009 01:47 PM (GMT)
My name is Daniel and I'm 38 and a bit.
I live in Staffs in a wonderful Gothic mansion that I have bored people with before.
I own no trainers, but have three pairs of boots.
Been a vegetarian for 20 years, my bones are so week.
At work, erm, working hard as usual.

marvell78 - November 23, 2009 02:04 PM (GMT)

bedtime reading: 'american tabloid' by ellroy and the letters and diaries of j g farrell (which led a few minutes ago to myself and the son and heir watching pet shop boys videos of nothing has been proved...farrell comments on the profumo affair in the letters i was reading last night..one thign leads to another..now he is interested in psb and particualry, streets ahve no name which repalces pomposity with glamour and rubbishes entirely a certain attitude u2 have..all u2 fans should be forced to lsiten to this version of the song)

spend all spare time eitehr out west in teh country or travelling abrod, particularly to russia/eastern europe, an expereince that is getting better all the time thanks to my increasing knowledge of russian (which is a killer language to learn but great to speak, spoken russian my favourite sound in tehworld lol

i'm a young fellow and that's not common around here.

19 years old
Brazilian
student of Philosophy
work in a car utensils shop

it is not great waking up everyday to face life, but I try to always keep on my feet experiencing the great joy of the little things.

Millichip - November 23, 2009 03:41 PM (GMT)
I'm a 35 yo bloke , looking after my (7 month old) son who is sleeping upstairs.

I am interested in play, and volunteer at an adventure playground. It is the most interesting and uplifting environment I've ever worked in, and would like to move my career in that direction.

I am interested in Japanese and Chinese teas. I find good teas life-affirming without the downsides of coffee or alcohol. I also drink coffee and alcohol.

I am dyslexic and I like books and poems.

On t'internet I often feel like I am announcing my opinions to a crowded room of clever people who have already had the thought, laughed at it and said it ironically. I think this is why my comments tend to be ignored. Boo and hoo.

You are not alone in that sentiment, I often feel that way and am sure so do a lot of other people. Keep posting anyway, I do.

A Worried Man - November 23, 2009 03:48 PM (GMT)
I doubt that you are actively ignored. Just sometimes it is difficult to know what to say. I think I have laughed out loud at something that has been written on the board 3 or 4 times today but I haven't said anything- it would get annoying if 90% of the posts were "that was funny" or "good point", but on the other hand it is a pity if people feel ignored. Not sure if anything can be done about that.

Millichip - November 23, 2009 03:55 PM (GMT)
I completely agree about those points. I also think some people are better at inviting response when posting, just as some people are better at inviting respsonse when speaking.

Another forum I'm on has a thanks button, so you can express your appreciation without doing what may look like a pointless post (that forum doesn't like threads being bumped, so it's good for that as well).

Vvillager - November 23, 2009 09:26 PM (GMT)
I'm one of life's back seat drivers, never do much myself but I often criticise those that do. You shouldn't take me too seriously; I know that my wife and kids don't.

Having spent the first half of my adult life avoiding routine 9-5 office jobs, I am happy to say that I now have a routine 9-5 job working in an office.

When I stop and think about it, I realise that things arn't too bad really. At all other times I'm bitter and twisted.

I've sat down at the computer tonight to do some long overdue homework for an ICT course that I'm doing at work.... which explains why I'm tapping away mindlessly on the Fall forum. Think I'll go listen to some music now. I'm going bog-eyed from looking at computer screens all day.
