Description: Best so far
chachacha - November 22, 2009 07:29 AM (GMT)
Still waiting for 2009, and one of these was a comp, Ayler

Murray Street, Burial and Comicopera are the only records I have from this list. All three still highly appreciated.
I picked my favourite Sonic Youth album of the decade, partially also for their continuing brilliance after more than 25 years.

By default, Comicopera, as its the only one I have.

My vote went to Björk's Magnum Opus.

What, is this just the top 10 of a longer list or something?

yep, every year Wire has a top 50 and these were the top '1' s of each year, in their general music lists, they have ones for avant rock, outer limits, hip hop etc too, i might be inclined to collate those-just cut and paste.

Ayler towers above anything else on the list even though much of it is far from the best of his work. Vespertine is next.
I'm mixed on Wyatt. My favorite Wyate is his piano on Ambient 1. I liked about 1/3 of Comicopera and sold it.
Sonic Youth wore out their welcome a long time ago.
I haven't heard Burial but I was intrigued by the positive reception it received. I haven't heard the others

The only ones I have... Wyatt, Ayler and Youth... out of those Wyatts Cuckooland.
Like all these records a lot though.
Burial, still have no clue what the fuss is.
Just plain boring imho.

Eeh... some of those lists were in alphabetical order, hence Ayler, and some of the other A's & B's...

Cuckooland. Still haven't got into Comicopera. :(

I LOVE Anti-Pop Consortium, but I think Arrythmia was a better album than TE

Comicopera. Can't believe I've voted against my beloved Murray Street again. Oh, and I need that Holy Ghost box.
