Fantastic album. Maybe not as good as their debut, but sometimes I prefer this one.
Some great songs; "Babylon", "Puss 'N' Boots", "Chatterbox", "Bad Detective", "Human Being", all faves.
I haven't heard any of the reformation albums yet...

I probably know a lot of these, from a compilation that my brother gave me, but I don't know their names - except Human Being, which is a wonderful song.

I recorded last year's Toronto show, decent recording, good show. Should I Dime it up?

A total blind spot with me, I'm afraid. Sometimes I wish I could hear what everyone else hears.

Yup, what is all the fuss about?
They sound like a poor mans MC5 to me.
And I dont like the MC5 that much.

Not a bad album, but it sounds very much like part two of the debut, with less strong songs. I like the cover of "Stranded in the jungle" best.
"Don't start me talkin'" must be one of the worst attempts at playing a blues song ever, by any rock'n'roll band - terrible!

In response to Neal and Zoot, I like them but don't think there's much more to it than they're among just a handful of bands that play "rock" music that I want to hear. Good, non-stodgy rhythm section (too rare in rock) and I like DJohansen's singing and JThunder's guitar tone, which I'm sure some people don't (esp Johansen). Having said that, it's really only the first album. This second one sounds like an already spent force -- retread originals (apart from Human Being) and too many dumb novelty covers (though I voted for the one strong cover, Showdown).

The debut album is genius, this is pretty dire. I can't think of a drop in quality so great from a band's first to second album.
The debut was choc full of classic songs, it was fun and it breathed. This is just a muddle. Even Slaughter & The Dogs version of Mystery Girls is better than the original, which says a lot.

Really?! Overall I prefer this one, although admittedly I always skip (There's Gonna Be A) Showdown, Bad Detective and Don't Start Me Talkin' - YUK.

I also think this is nowhere near as good as the first which is classic. Best track is Human Being.
I prefer 2CD Private World - The Complete Early Demos 1972-73 which can be picked up pretty cheap. A review here:

Morrissey used to cover Human Being, didn't he?
That's what I voted for.

I didn't know that... I've seen him cover Trash and Subway Train though.
