Title: Bristol Metropolis, Monday 23rd November 2009
Description: Pre-gig arrangements

Billybigbananas - November 15, 2009 10:23 PM (GMT)
Right - roll up, roll up.....

I know nowt about this place apart from it's usually a comedy club. Usually a good turn out in Brizzle, who's coming?

SteveHamilton - November 16, 2009 12:35 AM (GMT)
Any suggestions for a pub before the gig?

Ashley - November 20, 2009 01:48 PM (GMT)
I'm in!

Billybigbananas - November 20, 2009 01:56 PM (GMT)
Anyone got a suggestion for a meet-up pub? I don't know this part of Bristol.

Otherwise we may have to, gulp, watch the support act..... ^_^

Ricardo - November 20, 2009 02:19 PM (GMT)
Best bet is the Cat & Wheel - 200 yards up Cheltenham Road, just before the railway bridge.

Billybigbananas - November 20, 2009 02:33 PM (GMT)
SOUNDS GOOD TO ME

Cat & Wheel it is then, good shout Ricardo. :applaud:

Hope to see you all in the pub later ... My ticket confirmation had an alarming caveat that suggests etrance will be denied if the ticketholder is not at the venue 45 minutes before the performance starts, which is scheduled for 9PM

Anyone have any further info.. I'm sure it won't be a problem

Yeah, I had that on mine as well, think it's just because they are normally a comedy venue - like to get everyone sat down before the "turn" comes on. Very much doubt there'll be any issues, may give them a ring if I can find a number just to check though.

Let's hope The Fall show up on time then, or they might not get in.

Hope Dave Spurr gets there in time....he was on the table next to me this morning having breakfast in the Liner hotel in Liverpool, where we stayed after last night's gig.

OK, I've just spoken to a nice chap at the venue who assures me you can roll up when you want, the reason they put that

bit on is to stop people complaining when they roll up late and the act has already started. He also hinted that support band would be going on 9ish, so looks like usual 10pm for gruppe.

See you in the Cat & Wheel then, I'll be there for 8ish

The Fall - SOLD OUT

This show has now SOLD OUT. There will be a very limited number of tickets available at the door from 7:30pm at £25 each. You cannot phone or call in to reserve these tickets; they will be sold on a first come, first served basis.

Not much chance of that happening with The Fall!

SteveHamilton - November 23, 2009 02:36 PM (GMT)
Seriously though I would have thought the ban on late arrivals was more to do with stopping people wandering in and out while there's a comedian on.

I also phoned the venue, they advised getting there early because the place gets packed. Won't stop me having a few pre-gig pints in the Pipe and Slippers opposite first, though!

They seem to have a ton of rules including a bizarre "behaviour bond" where large groups all pay a tenner deposit as a promise to behave throughout the evening. What, are the comedians scared of hecklers or something?!
