According to Little Frank in the Manchester gig review thread, the merchandise stall were/are taking pre-orders and they'll be sent out when they are shipped in from wherever.
There's no mention on the Action Records site yet, though.

Pre-Xmas Fall single!

That explains why there is no mention of The Fall on the Domino site.

Maybe they heard the LP and rejected it??

I've thought that there was something wrong about this new album for some time. I don't think it exists.

Or it could just be the old fashioned way of promoting a new LP by releasing a single first.

Strange it's on Action rather than Domino, though.

I didn't want to say too much, but I heard in August that it some bloke from Pulp was producing it and that, for some reason, someone wasn't happy with the results. Grant Showbiz was remixing it but I think things may well have changed again in this regard.

I posted something to this effect on the Producer section of the Profile the next Studio album Still not sure on who's orders it was done, but a fair amount of time has passed since then.

I know the album was recorded though so it exists in some form.

So did Country on the Click....

So did Country on the Click....

Similar protracted pre-release. I just presumed it was Smith himself who wasn't happy with the mix.

Now I'm very confused

I'm not surprised.

I mean, the four or five tracks they play live at the moment. Would they be the best tracks on the album? I hope not.

Maybe that's what they have so far, and I don't think it's that great. Someone would have to do an outstanding production job on what I've heard so far.

The tracks are OK, and that's about it.

Whatever the reason, it's good that MES can see it and not release a substandard album.

A four to six track EP would be fine by me.

LPs filled with elongated songs like 11 minute 50 yr old man, and the seemingly endless das boot dont appeal to me at all.

Give me 4-6 sound songs any day.

I have to agree.

Now, I was quite drunk, but while harassing Mrs Action Records I'm sure she did say the new album was still due out on Domino. Fret not!

Complete guess but I think it will be a February release, and an announcement is imminent? ^_^

I expect this is the kind of idle speculation that p*sses MES off a bit at times but, ...,

Smith has already said theres been producer/emgineers difficulties hasnt he?
plus
Were i Mr Domino I'd try & get the LP's release as close as possible to the Gorillaz/MES 'Wherez North' fingy & that might be as reason for the delay.

I see the Gorillaz hype is on slow build with them on the front page of the UK edition of Wired ,afazine & recently Alan Moore has said Albarn & Hewlett have asked him to do the libretto for the next opera, which means that the 3rd Gorillaz lp must be nearing completion. I've not chexcked for a release date on it tho

Yes, well, idle speculation only occurs in the absence of facts...

Why would Domino allow Action to release a single? Why is the track sometimes called "Sloppy Floor," and sometimes "Slippy Floor"? Is the Action single a live version with a slightly different name?
