Title: Oxford's O2 Academy, 15th November 2009
Description: Pre-gig arrangements

Hello All,

I'll be coming to Oxford to see The Fall for the first time on the 15th. I'm from Chicago and I think this will be great. Anyone interested in meeting up before hand? Grabbing a beer or whatever?

Anyway, hope to see some of you there!

Pete

Hi there!

Sadly I won't be able to make this one, but if you wander down the road to The Hobgoblin beforehand it'll almost certainly be packed to the rafters with thirsty Fall fans.

Hope you have a good time. :)

Hi Pete

I will indeed be in the Hobgoblin before the gig, along with Fall mates Shayne and Toby D. Look out for two guys in their forties and one in his twenties. Unusually for Fall fans, we all have a full head hair and none of us are overweight.

Come over and have a beer it will be a pleasure to meet you.

Regards

John.

The 2007 Oxford shows now legendary, I have great expectations for this one. We stayed at a guest house across the road and just had to casually "pop over" to see The Fall. Would love to meet you guys over a pint or two, Hobgoblin seems fine. I assume Shayne is forum member cupidsbullet, great bloke. Hi VFSR! Met you in Cambridge I think.

Whoa. Am I looking forward to this or what.

Yes, Hobgoblin is perfect because it's just near the venue, pretty large & actually serves a decent pint. The only downside is the raised entrance, whcih will scupper any wheelchair users who might be coming.

I look forward to meeting you lot, some not for the 1st time. Unlike last year, I think I shall eat dinner at some point before the gig, so I'm not quite so bladdered by the end :P

Yes Shayne is all round diamond geezer Cupid's Bullet. I do remember meeting you at Cambridge and look forward to seeing you again. Gappy, I think we met briefly at the last Oxford gig but, like you say, it's a bit of a blur.

It's shaping up for a great night.

Hi

The Oxford show will be my first one too. I'm coming from Mexico. Mind if I join you at The Hobgoblin for a pint before the show?

Gerardo

The more the merrier Gerardo, look forward to meeting you. What a cosmpopolitan evening this is shaping up to be. Unfortunately I'm from un-exotic north London.

It will be great to get to know some Fall fans, since I don't any in my country. At what time should everyone will arrive at the Hobgoblin?

I would imagine around 6.30-7pm ish. The support is Ed Blaney plus a fan dancer so we cold be in the pub for a while.

A friend got me a T-shirt with my avatar printed in it for my birthday, so I could wear that for ease of identification.

See you there.

Gerardo

I'll be with my wife and a couple of friends coming from Germany, but we're all Brazilian, except for one friend who is also from Mexico.

Possibly we won't be able to be at the station on time to get the last train to Milton Keynes. Any B&B/hostel suggestions ?

The Fall League of Nations gathers momentum. I fear Shayne and I may feel slightly out of place being from the other end of the M40.

"Three caipirinhas, two Coronas and a pint of bitter, love."

I would pm Gappy Tooth for accomodation info as he has local knowledge.

This is going to be extraordinary.

Lots of little B&Bs etc round the area...or a Travelodge about 2 miles down the road from the venue.

Whatever anyone does, don't stay in The Nanford Guesthouse, it's a filthy hellhole. This isn't libel, there are plenty of Environmental Health reports & legal cases to back this up. Don't do it, even if they have engineered top Google link!!

Look forward to seeing you all.

Wind, rain and M40 permitting, Shayne and I will be in the Hobgoblin at around 6.30pm tomorrow night. We're Looking forward to meeting everyone.
